A/N: This is just a little one shot that I wrote after talking to my friend Sarah Tribbiani. If you don't recognise the quotes then I am sorry to say that you are no Doctor who fan.

Disclaimer: Don't own Doctor Who. Never have never will. If I did I would know David Tennant. I wanna own Doctor Who!

"You're dead. Officially. Back home. So many people died that day and you'd gone missing. You're on the list of the dead. But here you are. Living a life, day after day. The one adventure I can never have."

"Am I ever gonna see you again?" asked Rose, starting to cry.

"You can't."

"What are you gonna do?"

"Oh, I've got a TARDIS. Same old life, last of the Time Lords."

"On your own. I…" said Rose burying her head in her hands.

After a few moments she looked up at the Doctor, tears running down her face.

"I love you."

"Quite right too." Said the Doctor smiling down at her. "And I suppose, as it's my last chance to say it. Rose Tyler-"

And he was gone. For a moment Rose forgot to breath and then she broke down starting to cry.

Rose opened her eyes and looked around the TARDIS. There was the control panel, with its heart beat like whooshing, and there were those special doors to the outside world, and there, most important of all, was the Doctor. He was stood next to the control panel and was watching her with a worried expression on his face.

"Oh doctor." Cried Rose, leaping up, running over to him and flinging her arms around his neck.

"Whoa there." Said the Doctor taking hold of her upper-arms and holding her at arms length.

"What's up with you?"

"Nothing. Just a bad dream. That's all."

"You sure you're ok?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just promise me one thing."

"Anything." Said the Doctor, reaching up and smoothing down her hair where it had got all ruffled in her sleep.

"Promise me that you're never gonna leave me."

"What?"

"Please Doctor, promise."

"Rose, what's wrong?" asked the Doctor, a note of panic entering his voice.

"Promise." Said Rose, looking up at him imploringly.

The Doctor looked into her eyes and saw that they were brimming with tears.

"Ok." He said taking hold of her hands and looking deep into her eyes. "I promise that I am never gonna leave you behind."

"Thanks." Said Rose. "I needed that."

The Doctor let go of her hands and pulled her into a tight hug.

"You gonna tell me about it?"

"Nah." She said.

She pulled away from him and wiped her eyes furiously on her sleeve.

"It was just a stupid dream. Can't believe I let it upset me. It wasn't even remotely plausible. In the immortal words of Shrek: Yeah like that's ever gonna happen.

A/N: Hope you like it. I'm not very good at endings. Please review with your comments. Constructive criticism and praise are two very useful things.
