Disclaimer: I don't own Narnia. Yes, I'm dealing with it.
Thanks to all who reviewed! I'm hoping to reply to you each later but I'm in the middle of exams, so I'm a bit busy!

Chapter 3
"What happened?" Lucy said as they walked through the destroyed remains of Peter's camp.
Edmund's face was tight as they scoured the area for survivors. They had found none thus far.
"Edmund?"
"I don't know, Lu." He sighed. "But it isn't looking good."
"I can see that, Ed!" she snapped "Where's Peter? The army? They can't have just vanished without a trace."
Edmund frowned "I know. Something must've gone wrong."
"Your Majesties!" An eagle shrieked, swooping down and landing before them. "We've found something."
"Where, Sharpwing?" the King asked
"On the edge of the wood." Sharpwing said gravely
Quickly they followed the eagle as he again took flight, flying low. He lead them to a small glen, where the trees branches nearly touched the earth, and the ground was muddy. The centaur, Oreius was there and turned to his King and Queen.
"Well, let's have it then." Edmund demanded "What did you find?"
"This." Oreius said, gently. Then he handed Edmund a sword, and a sword he knew well.
"Lucy…it's Rhindon." He said, stunned "Search this area thoroughly, Oreius! Peter wouldn't leave this behind-"
"If he had the choice, no he wouldn't." Oreius agreed "But I don't think His Majesty had that luxury." Stepping aside, he led them further into the glen and pointed out the tracks in the mud. "There are many tracks here, and some appear to be the High King's…others are not so clear. I have not seen prints like this since the Battle of Beruna."
"Which means?" Lucy prodded "Speak plainly friend."
"The King, at best, may have been kidnapped by the White Witch's servants." The centaur said with a low growl. "Or he may be in Aslan's country as we speak."
Lucy stared at Edmund, her eyes betraying her fear.
"Thank you, Oreius." Edmund said quietly dismissing the centaur. The instant he was gone, Lucy whirled on her tears gathering on her face.
"Edmund, where is he?" she said, choking back a sob "What happened?"
Edmund pulled her into a tight embrace, and she cried into his chain mail (which really isn't that nice). And all the while he was wondering the same thing.
Miles away, on a ship toward the Calorman docks, a young man awoke his blue eyes dulled with pain. By the time they found him it would be too late.
AN: Enjoy. If not I apologize, and any suggestions are welcome.
