Unlawful Liason

By: MegTao

Hermione Granger, the magical community's top attorney, prided herself on always being in control. Her ability to stay calm in the face of anything had won her many cases and she was happy to say she had very few friends in the new wizard prison.

"Mrs. Granger," her secretary's head suddenly popped into her fireplace, "There is a client here to see you."

"Send him in please," Hermione replied without even looking up from the papers she was studying for the Zabini case.

"Hello, Granger."

She immediately recognized his drawl and stiffened as she slowly raised her head to meet the cool gaze of the man she had hoped to never see again and longed to catch just one glimpse of.

"Get out of my office, Malfoy," Hermione hissed.

"Now, now," Malfoy tutted tauntingly, "Is that anyway to talk to an old," he paused and smiled seductively, "friend."

Hermione narrowed her eyes and summoned up all of her hate for the man sitting across from her, but all she could see was the last night that they had spent together, the night she had tried so hard to forget but never could.

"I have a husband," she protested in a breathless voice as he stalked ever closer to her chair, "I'm married to Ronald Weasley and I love him."

Hermione wished she sounded more convincing. Where was the cool and tough Hermione Granger who had put more than 50 Death Eaters away? Where was the Hermione Granger who did not get chills whenever she met someone's eyes?

Draco stroked a slender finger across her lips and ran it down her neck smirking as he felt the jump in her pulse. He leaned down and pressed his mouth up against her ear, his hot breath whispering, "That never stopped us before."
