Chapter 8
Olivia felt a little dizzy. She tried to convince herself that it was just her anxiety. That her nerves were getting the best of her, and it was clear to those around her. Dominick watched her as they stood together, and he grew worried that something else was happening to her.
"I'm okay, Dominick," Olivia sighed, as she fanned him away. She didn't want him worrying about her, especially since he'd run himself ragged if he worried about her all the time.
"How are you okay, Olivia? We get to watch the interrogation of the woman that hurt us," Dominick frowned. Olivia blocked him out as she started to think more about what was happening.
She shuddered at the thought of seeing Dani's lawyer. Elliot had tried to keep the secret of who the lawyer was, but Olivia overheard him the day Dani had been arrested. Olivia hated the fact her former friend was working for someone who hurt her… Just like he did before.
She couldn't understand how Rafael Barba had sunk so low. He may look similar to the Barba who she loved and cared about, but he acted completely differently. No matter how many times he claims he takes these cases to protect her, she doesn't know how it did that at all.
"Olivia, you aren't okay," Dominick spoke.
He could feel Olivia shaking beside him, so he put his hands to her hips to hopefully stop the shaking. Olivia looked at him as tears welled in her eyes. Dominick was just upset about this all, since his former mentor and friend was doing this to them.
"I know you aren't okay… I'm sorry for even asking that question," Dominick frowned. He caressed Olivia's hips with thumbs as tears trickled down Olivia's cheeks.
They were so focused on each other, that they didn't even hear the door open. Ayanna stood there and watched them for a brief moment before clearing her throat. Both shook and turned to look at her. Dominick dropped his hands, as his face went red with embarrassment.
"Ayanna, it's not what it looks like," Olivia breathed. Ayanna just nodded before sighing softly. She didn't want to make things more difficult for Olivia and Dominick after everything they had gone through.
"Um, I was coming to see if you two were ready?" Ayanna had promised to keep this case quiet. The last thing anyone wanted was for the entire city to know that an NYPD Captain and her ADA had been drugged and slept together. That the entire accident was all because someone was jealous.
Liv shook her head at the question, but did her best to keep her composure. She was so tired, and knew today would be even more exhausting than the days before. Olivia took a deep breath and closed her eyes tightly before feeling Dominick's hand on her back. She enjoyed the warmth for a moment before opening her eyes.
They stepped into the viewing room together. Elliot and David Haden stood there together. Olivia tried to avoid Elliot's eyes as she stepped away, so he was no longer touching her. David was the only one who wasn't at the party, but he already promised to not make a huge deal with this. The media wouldn't be involved unless something was leaked.
Olivia stood in front of the window and watched as Rafael spoke to Dani. The volume was off, so no one knew what was being said. All Olivia knew was that it probably wasn't something she'd want to say.
"Who's going in?" Olivia breathed, her eyes still locked on Rafael.
"I-" Dominick started, but David stopped him.
"You and Olivia are the victims. OC was told that they could work this case, so Stabler and Bell will be doing the interrogation," David replied. Elliot was staring at Olivia, as he reached out to touch her. Olivia stepped away and moved out of the way. She didn't want to be touched… all she wanted to do was hear Dani's excuses.

Elliot and Ayanna walked into the interrogation room. The moment the door closed, David reached out and turned on the volume. Olivia kept her head down and just listened.
Elliot sat down at the table and eyed the woman that hurt his person.
"I'm going to instruct my client to not speak," Rafael spoke.
"Then why are we even here?" Ayanna said with an annoyed smile.
"I wanna speak to Elliot," Dani spoke, looking directly at Elliot.
Elliot locked eyes with Dani as anger started bubbling up in his body. Elliot sat in silence for a few moments before speaking. If she wanted to talk to him, then he'd talk to her. It meant that he'd get more information about the night everything happened.
"How did you get into the party that night? It was invitation only, and there was a list of everyone that was allowed in," Elliot spoke, as he leaned forward. His shirt clung to his muscles, and Dani couldn't help but look.
"I didn't quit, El. I'm still a cop," Dani smiled. Elliot tried his hardest to not react. If Dani was still a cop, this case may get bigger than anyone wants.
"Why did you do it?" Ayanna asked, but Dani completely ignored her. Dani was too busy undressing Elliot with her eyes, that she couldn't and didn't want to listen to the other detective.
"Dani, why did you do it? Tell me exactly why," Elliot breathed, as he ran a hand over the back of his neck. Dani leaned forward and bit her bottom lip.
"When your wife passed, you were finally single again… I don't think you should waste your time with Olivia, when you two are meant to be. I'm meant to be with you, El. Baby, I have been lonely without you," Dani breathed, her bottom lip popping out.
"Instead of just approaching me, you decided to drug two very important members of our city?" Elliot mused, his face growing red with anger.
"They enjoyed themselves, El. The way he kissed her skin… she couldn't keep her mouth shut when he was doing her," Dani smiled. The moment those words left her mouth, the door slammed open.
Everyone jumped as Olivia rushed into the room. Dominick was hot on her tracks.
