In very night of Vale, inside an abandoned building, there was a person. That man, to be more specific, wore a black robe with a hood that covered his face. He was sitting upon an empty crate, as he was waiting. He had a dark blade in his hand. The blade, itself was covered in blood. Surround that very person was dead bodies, slaughtered in a most gruesome way. The dead bodies, to be exact, were members of the White Fang.
The person continued to sit on the crate without a care in the world, waiting for someone to arrive.
"You have no reason to kill these people," The man heard a voice from a distance. The man looked towards the shadow where the voice was heard from. A man emerged from the shadow. That very man wore the same robe but dark brown as the color.
"If I haven't done it, then he would," the man in black replied. He stood up from the crate and faced the man in the dark brown robe. He caused the blade in his hand to disappear as a sign of peace.
"Still, doesn't mean you have the right to kill these people," the man in dark brown retorted. "Why have you called me here?"
"Have you heard one of our brothers had named himself?" as he tried to make a nice conversation.
"Yes, I heard he called himself, 'Blaze.'" The man in dark brown replied. "Why have you called me?"
"Have you ever thought of a name for yourself?" the man in black asked, dodging the question.
The man in the dark brown robe thought about the question for a moment. He haven't really thought of giving himself a name.
"Terra."
"Terra?"
"Terra," the man in dark brown confirmed.
"Why Terra?" the man in black question. Terra only replied with a shrug.
"What is the reason you have called me here?" Terra asked again.
The man in black sighed, knowing he can't dodge the question. Well, it's true that he did called 'Terra' for a reason. But, he can't simply ask him for something. Since, he's asking about it, what choice he has.
"You know of Asarirn, right?"
"I wonder about that," Terra thought out loud. The man in black simply stood there, expecting Terra to go on. "When the dagger was pulled on that very night, there supposed to be six of us." Terra looked at the robed figure. "But instead, there are seven of us."
"What is your point?" the man in black asked in an unpleasant tone.
"I noticed that blade you wielded when I first entered," Terra claimed. "So, who are you and why do you have Night's Fury?"
The man in black smiled under his hood before speaking, "I will show you who I am, if you reveal who you are."
Terra was hesitate by that person's request. He felt unease how the man in black would reveal who he was, if Terra reveal his face. But, he wanted to know who this man was.
Terra slowly reached for his hood before managing to pull it off, revealing his face. Terra has no hair on his head but had a short brown beard. He also had dark brown eyes. His physical appearance has a stronger built than average.
The man in black let out a single laugh, "I didn't expect you to look like that."
The man in black quickly pulled off his hood, revealing his face. Terra's eyes widen in surprise by the site of his face. Terra quickly summoned a brown blade in his hand and held it up against the man in the black robe.
"Relax," he said calmly as he pull his hood over his head, "I'm not him."
"So, what do you want with me?" Terra asked as he relaxed his stance.
"Like I said earlier, you know of Asarirn Nightlyis."
"Yes, our purpose is to kill him. This is why we exist."
The man in black stood motionless, thinking about what Terra had said. He hated the thought of the reason why he was here now. The hooded person clenched his fist in responds before continue explaining.
"I was thinking of paying Asarirn a visit," The hooded man explained.
"You know where he would be?"
"To tell you the truth," the hooded man started to explain, "I was there when Asarirn encountered Blaze that night and watched the whole fight."
"If you were there, why didn't you help our brother?" Terra questioned, he felt a little bit of distrustful toward the hooded man.
"I wanted to see what he was capable of, besides Blaze didn't have an issue facing against Asarirn." The hooded man tried to calm Terra with his reason. "After the battle, I followed him to where I believed he would be at right now."
"So, the reason for calling me?"
"I wanted at least have a better advantage over Asarirn, considering he would be on edge ever since the battle against Blaze. So I thought, with you helping me out, we could easily defeat him."
Stone took a moment to contemplate his options. It's true, not only he would find Asarirn's location, but also have one of his 'brothers' helping him out. So, within that amount of time, he had reached a decision.
"Very well, I will take on your offer," Terra acknowledged the hooded man's plan.
"Good," the hooded man sounded pleased. "Shall we go then?"
"What are you going to do with the corpses?" Terra asked as he looked at the bloodied bodies all over the floor. "You can't leave it as it is."
"Just leave it," the hooded man said in a cold tone. The hooded man started to depart for the exit. "This is just a message to 'them.' There is always a reason for my action, Terra. You should know that by now."
"Have you thought of a name for yourself?" Terra asked as he looked at the hooded man.
"In good time, my brother," the hooded man replied as he continued to leave the place.
Terra only returned a cold stare before starting to follow the mysterious person out of the building. He paused to look back at the corpses before continuing on. For some reason, Terra had a bad feeling about the hooded man.
-*RWBY*-
The very next morning, Asarirn woke up earlier than Team RWBY. Since he had his exam in the morning, might as well prep for it. Well, that isn't the reason for Asarirn to wake up early. Before he rose from his bed, he took a good look to the girls around him. Their peaceful sleep couldn't be disturbed by the likes of him. He made certain that none of them awaken as he advanced toward the door.
As Asarirn opened the door, he was greeted by a familiar face. It was Glynda Goodwitch. Glynda had one of her hands held up in shape of a fist. It appeared she was about to knock on the door, but was stopped before she could do it.
Glynda set her hand down before speaking, "I see you are up early."
Asarirn peered over his shoulder; Team RWBY were still asleep. Asarirn entered the hallway with Glynda as he closed the door behind him.
"Are you ready for your exam?" Glynda queried.
Asarirn nodded in respond as he started to follow Glynda down the hallway.
After a quick breakfast, provided by Ozpin, Asarirn was led back to the locker room, where his equipment would be located. He opened the lockers to find his weapons where he had left them. Asarirn grasped both his Ice Weavers in his hands.
"You think you could get away that easily?" A voice was heard off to the side.
Asarirn paused as he knew where the source came from. He looked towards his left to find the whole Team RWBY standing there. Under his hood, he gave a disappointed look.
"We wanted watch you prepare for your exam," Yang continued on, "but instead you left without saying anything."
"To tell you the truth, I didn't want go," Weiss explained. Blake elbowed her. "Well, but I suppose this is better to do."
Weiss eyed the two Ice Weavers for a little before Asarirn made it disappear from his hands. She wanted to know the mystery behind the Ice Weavers and Asarirn.
"Don't you have classes, right now?" Asarirn questioned as he reached for his blade.
"If you must know," Glynda began to clarify, "classes are cancelled for your exam."
"Why?"
"Believed me, I said the same thing. However, if you wanted to know, then you must talk to Headmaster Ozpin."
Asarirn strapped his blade around his waist for his final preparation. And was ready for the so-called 'exam.'
Asarirn followed Glynda, while Team RWBY followed Asarirn, as he led outside toward the cliffs by the Academy. Once there, he was greeted by Ozpin, himself.
"You appeared to prepare for the exam," Ozpin complimented Asarirn.
"What is the meaning of this?" Asarirn questioned as he pointed to Team RWBY.
"Ah, the reason for the cancelation of classes." Asarirn nodded in confirmation. "I have done this for your sake."
"What do you mean?" Asarirn sounded confuse.
"Since you're the only one preforming the exam, people could be easily be convince that you enroll here without having to do the entrance exam."
"So are they my witness," Asarirn pointed to Team RWBY once more.
"Not just them, but the whole school," Ozpin clarified. "Your performance will be broadcast to the whole school."
Asarirn was displeased by Ozpin's intensions. But if he say it would benefit him, then he had no choice in this matter. However, that forced Asarirn to reconsider his battle plan. That shouldn't be a huge deal for Asarirn.
Ozpin approached Asarirn close enough that he had his head next to Asarirn's ear. Ozpin spoke softly enough that nobody could hear except for Asarirn, "If you want to use your Mystical Blades that is your choice. I'm just telling you, you will be graded based on your performance." Ozpin walked back to his original position.
"If you are ready to begin then let us proceed," Ozpin gestured toward a specific area. Asarirn noticed a row of square platforms that each one had the symbol of Beacon on it. He stare at Ozpin for a moment before strolling onto the closest platform.
"Now then, you are here to be tested on your skill and determine your standing in our school," Ozpin began to explain. "There is a temple, north of here. Your objective is to go to that temple and grab a relic. Then we will grade you accordingly. This test, however, is to test your cooperation with others. Because you are the only one participating, your grade will be lowered. No exceptions. Understand?"
Before Asarirn could answer, Ruby quickly ran and occupied a platform next to Asarirn.
"What are you doing, Ms. Rose?" Glynda interrogated.
"Well, it would be unfair his grade would dropped because he had no one to help. So, I will help him."
"No, you will not," Glynda retorted. "You have already completed this test. We can't have you give him an advantage."
Ruby looked displeased, she gazed towards Ozpin in hope for some help. But Ozpin was simply staring at Asarirn, expecting an answer from him. Asarirn let out a sigh due to the fact this was getting nowhere and he wanted to finish this exam as quickly as possible.
"It's fine, I can handle this by myself," Asarirn tried to convince.
Ruby looked at Asarirn but he didn't look at her, "If you believe you're going to be okay, then I understand." Ruby walked off the platform and joined the rest of her teammates.
"I understand," Asarirn told Ozpin. "I'm assuming, I will be launched from this spot."
Ozpin smiled before continuing, "If you are ready, take your stance."
Asarirn positioned himself, leaning himself forward a bit with a hand on his hilt of his blade. Asarirn looked forward and waited for the platform to launch him.
Meanwhile, Team JNPR walked up towards Team RWBY.
"Hey, Ruby," Jaune greeted. The boy appeared to be wearing regular jeans and sweater, but with armor over his sweater. He had his sword by his side.
The rest of Team JNPR stood behind Jaune. Nora wore her white and pink combat dress with her weapon behind her. Pyrrha wore golden armor with her spear and shield rested on her back. Finally, the black hair boy, Ren, wore his green Chinese cloth with white pants.
"Hey there, Jaune," Ruby welcomed them.
Nora noticed Asarirn was about to be launch from his platform. "Is that the-"
"The transfer student," Pyrrha quickly finished Nora's Sentence. Pyrrha peered over to Asarirn to see if he had heard Nora or not. She determined that she can't tell if he did indeed heard her or not.
Jaune rested on the grass below him. "It is so nice that we have the whole day off."
After a bit of time, both teams watched as Asarirn launched into the air.
"And there he goes," Ren stated. "I wish him luck."
Everyone, including Glynda and Ozpin, pulled out their scroll. A window appeared on their screen. An image of Asarirn appeared as Asarirn flew into the air.
-*RWBY*-
Asarirn was descending rapidly toward the forest. Asarirn was calm, even though he was heading toward the ground at high speed. As he approaching the forest, he held out his hand toward the area, he assumed he was going to land. After a moment, nothing happens.
Asarirn began to panic a bit. This never happened to him before. But, he can't allowed that thought to distract him. He held out his hand once more and chanted out some words.
"The wind that surrounds me.
Wind become my guide and grant me safety.
Ensure I land unharmed."
A purple magic circle appeared in front of Asarirn's hand. He knew the spell was working.
"Wind Magic: Aerial Break."
Asarirn stopped before he crashed into the ground. He looked at his feet and found a small vertex of wind broke his fall. Asarirn pulled out his blade and plunged it through the vertex. A shockwave burst out around the area as Asarirn landed on the ground. The shockwave was powerful to destroy the surrounding trees.
Asarirn stood up and sheathed his blade before pondering in thought. Well… That was unexpected. Never once I had a problem casting spells.
Asarirn held out his hand toward the tree before him. After a moment, nothing happens.
Asarirn chanted some words once more.
"Ice can form many shapes.
"I decide what ice can form into."
"Let ice spear my enemies."
A blue magic circle appeared in front of Asarirn's hand.
"Ice Magic: Ice Lance."
An ice shard slowly emerged from the magic circle before firing at the tree. The ice shard pierced through the tree. Asarirn clenched his fist in anger due to the result of the spell.
"Am I forced chant out my spells now?" Asarirn muttered to himself.
-*RWBY*-
"Is there something wrong with Arranis?"
"I don't know," Blake said.
Team Ruby were watching Asarirn's actions from their scrolls. To them, Asarirn was firing random spells and they don't know why.
"Is Spellcasting his Semblance?" Yang asked.
"Hmm… I think so," Ruby believed.
"I thought he was living with you guys," Jaune claimed. "How you don't know what semblance he used?"
They didn't replied, but continued to watch Asarirn on their screens. On the screen, Asarirn began to walk through the forest. Team Ruby have the intention to watch Asarirn very closely, to learn more about him.
-*RWBY*-
Asarirn casually paced through the forest searching for the 'so-called' temple. Never once had Asarirn encountered anything but trees after trees. He could take this as a sign of relieve. To him, that doesn't mean he should take it easy. Asarirn continued through the forest with a bit of caution.
After a few minutes, Asarirn encountered a strange black creature. Asarirn believed that there were no creatures for a moment. The strange black creature was, indeed, a Grimm. Ursa to be exact. The creature's red eyes lock on to Asarirn.
"A bear?" Asarirn examined. Asarirn realized it was the same type of enemy he had fought in the forest where he had encountered Team Ruby for the first time. Asarirn pulled out his blade.
The Ursa began to charge straight for Asarirn.
Asarirn believed he didn't have time to deal with this creature. He was going to end this fight as soon as he can.
Asarirn held up his blade and focused his mind. As the Ursa getting closer, Asarirn's blade began to glow white.
"The light pierce my enemies."
Three magic circles appeared around the blade. Asarirn began to swing his blade toward the Ursa. The blade disappeared as a beam of light beamed through the Ursa. The blade reappeared, impaled into a tree behind the Ursa.
Asarirn began to walk slowly toward the charging Ursa. The Ursa speed started to decrease dramatically, as if it was tired. The Ursa nearly stopped as it was near Asarirn. Asarirn continued to walk and attempted to walk pass the tired Ursa. The Ursa slowly raised its claw in a final attempted to attack Asarirn. The Ursa slowly swung its claw at Asarirn but Asarirn stopped it using only one hand. Asarirn swatted the claw away and continued to walk toward his blade. The Ursa collapsed on the ground in defeat.
-*RWBY*-
Team Ruby watched as Asarirn took down the Ursa like it was nothing.
"Well, that was anti-climactic," Yang commented.
"I think he's trying to finish this as soon as he can," Blake suggested.
They continued to watch the broadcast. On the screen, Asarirn walked up to the tree where the blade was impale into, and pulled the blade from the tree. He sheathed the blade before proceeding on.
However, Asarirn took two steps before stopping. Team Ruby gave each other a confuse look before looking back on the screen. Asarirn quickly scanned the area for a moment and then dashed further into the forest in a rush.
"I guess he is that impatient to finish the exam," Weiss remarked.
"Looks like something spook Arranis," Team Ruby heard Ozpin's commented.
"The boy can handle Grimm pretty well," Glynda explained. "I don't understand what would cause him to be frighten."
"I think we are going to find out very soon."
-*RWBY*-
Asarirn continued to race through the forest in attempt to escape from his persuaders. Asarirn sprinted through the forest, passing trees after trees, until he reached an open area.
In this area, there was an old ruin in the middle of the field. The old ruin, itself was surrounded by pillars.
Asarirn came close to the ruin before making a complete stopped. Asarirn shook his head in disappointment before looking at the top of pillars. There, he was greeted by two people. One in a brown robe and the other in a black robe.
"Did you miss us?" the black robed man jokingly asked.
"Seriously, who are you?"
The black robed man let a single laugh. "It's funny, how you can't figure that out."
"Enough games," Asarirn snarled angrily, "Reveal yourselves!"
"I will reveal who I am, if you reveal who you are first," the black robed man proposed.
Asarirn stood there, staring at the black robed man with no responds. The black robed man, also, stood there, expecting an answer from Asarirn, but nothing.
"Oh," the black robed man now realized, "You can't reveal yourself because you are being watch." Asarirn didn't made any motion which confirmed the black robed man's suspensions. "Don't worry I got you covered."
Asarirn watched as the black robed man slowly swung out his arm. A powerful ominous wind brewed before Asarirn. Asarirn quickly used his arms to shield himself from the wind. The wind felt like it could take Asarirn off his feet. Asarirn couldn't believe the seer power this person possess.
Once the wind subsided, the black robed man proceed to talk.
"There, I think that knock out the cameras for a minute," the black robed man said in a confident tone.
Asarirn knew very well that that wind had knock out the camera feed. It just the next thing he would never expect. Asarirn reached for his hood and pulled off his hood, revealing his face.
"So, it's true," the brown robed man commented.
Asarirn ignored the brown robed man as he continued to look at the black robed man.
The black robed man reached for his hood and pulled it off. Asarirn's eyes widen in surprise. The black robed man very face was Asarirn's face itself. The only difference for this one was he had slightly longer hair and red eyes.
Asarirn quickly reached for hilt of his blade. "Who are you?" Asarirn questioned.
The other Asarirn gave a sly smile before answering, "Where is our matters?" The other Asarirn gestured to brown robed man. "This is Terra." The other Asarirn paused for a bit to introduce himself. "You may call me, Shadow."
Asarirn froze from where he stood due to the shock. Not only he had to deal with the robed enemies, now he had to deal with someone who looked exactly like him.
"You know why we are here, right?" Shadow asked to grab his attention.
Asarirn quickly snap himself from his thoughts. "For you to take over my life?" Asarirn replied.
Shadow let out a huge laugh before speaking, "that is the most cliché thing I ever heard."
"What is your purpose then?"
"I just wanted to see who is stronger," Shadow explained.
"Well," Terra began to clarify, "We are born with the sole purpose of killing you. So enough questions, prepared to die!"
Asarirn watched as Shadow pulled up his hood, covering his face. Asarirn knew the broadcast was coming back up. Asarirn quickly pulled up his hood.
-*RWBY*-
"Who are those guys?" Weiss asked.
"I don't know," Blake replied, "but don't they wore the same exact robe that Blaze wore?"
The whole team took a closer at the screen. It was true, the two people had the same type of robe that Blaze had on. They watched as Shadow swung his arm and a powerful wind brewed up. The wind was powerful enough to knock out their broadcast.
They looked at each other before turning to Ozpin and Glynda. They noticed the lost connection also. Ozpin turned to Glynda. "I need the camera back up as quickly as possible," Ozpin ordered.
"I'm on it," Glynda responded. She looked at Ozpin with a concern look. "Who are those two?"
"I don't know, it appears they are after the boy."
"Don't we have to do something about it?" Glynda asked.
Ozpin didn't gave an answer but instead he peered over the forest. Glynda noticed he also had a concern look on his face.
Ruby turned back to her team. The rest of her team noticed Ruby was in deep thought.
"Don't you think we should do something?" Ruby asked.
"We could do something, but I don't think Goodwitch would allow us," Blake said.
After a few minutes, Team RWBY noticed the camera feed was back up once more. They quickly looked back on the screen to see if anything had changed. To them, it appeared nothing had changed, mostly a stalemate. However, Blake noticed Asarirn had his hand on his hilt of the blade. She suspected a battle was about to start.
-*RWBY*-
The two parties stood there as they watched each other, expecting one of them to make the first move. Shadow found this very boring.
"I wondered what your reason for being here," Shadow broke the silence.
Shadow looked down from where he stood to find what Asarirn was after. Shadow began to laugh at what lied below. "Is that what you were after?"
Asarirn didn't had the chance to look at the temple. Once he looked closely inside, he noticed a bunch of chess pieces rested on stands. He found that very annoying for Ozpin to such a thing.
"I grow tired of this wait," Terra angrily commented. Terra grabbed his robe and teared it off of him, revealing his true self. Terra had a brown knight's amour on with a white cape attached to it.
Shadow held out his arm to stop Stone from doing anything further. "Easy there, Terra. Don't go charging in."
"Why!?" Terra asked as he kept up his angered tone. Terra held out his hand and summoned a brown blade.
"You don't understand," Shadow began to explain, "Basically whoever makes the first move, will die."
"Isn't that right?" Shadow asked as he looked at Asarirn. Asarirn made no responds as they both knew it was true. Asarirn noticed Shadow summoned a demonic blade in his hand. Asarirn knew very well what that blade was.
Asarirn looked at the supposed 'relics'. He knew that is what he need to pass the exam. But that means engaging those two. For what? For 'relics'? Either way he was going to fight them regardless.
"So, what is going to be?" Shadow asked once more.
Asarirn had made his decision.
-*RWBY*-
Weiss widen her eyes as she saw Terra's blade. Yang noticed Weiss' expression before asking her.
"You look like you have seen that blade before, Weiss," Yang said.
"I have only seen in pictures and stories," Weiss said.
"So, what is it then?" Yang asked.
"That blade," Weiss started to explain, "That is Rockslide, the Mystical blade of Earth."
"Another Mystical blade wielder," Blake commented. Weiss nodded in agreement.
"What do you think Ruby?" Yang asked. Yang noticed there was no responds from Ruby. She looked at her sister and noticed something frightening. Ruby had her eyes widen in surprise with fear in them. "Ruby!" Yang tried to get her attention. Ruby snapped from her trace and looked Yang. "What is wrong Ruby?"
"That blade," Ruby pointed at Shadow's weapon on the screen.
"Weiss," Blake tried to get her attention, "do you know what that blade is?"
Weiss shook her head in disbelief, "I never seen that kind of blade before."
"Ruby, what about you?"
"That blade," Ruby said like a broken record, "is the same blade as the one in my dream."
"And?"
Ruby looked at her team with a fear in her eyes, "That is the same blade used to kill Arranis in my dream."
The rest of the team gave each other scared and concerned looks. But, the only thing they can do now was to look back onto the screen and watched the fight unfold.
-*RWBY*-
It felt like minutes had turned into hours for Asarirn. He continued to have the stalemate between him and the two other guys, Terra and Shadow. Asarirn tried to think of multiple ways of getting out of that situation. For anything, it would result in a fight. In the end, he had only one plan he can go by. Once he was ready, Asarirn crouched low in prepared for a sprint.
"Looks like you had made up your mind," Shadow respond to Asarirn's movement.
Asarirn dashed for the relic underneath the two enemies. Terra responded by leaping off from the pillar. While in the air, Terra transformed his blade into a giant-bladed lance. Stone drove his weapon straight down over Asarirn's head. In an instant, a huge dust cloud puffed up as Terra came into contact with Asarirn.
Shadow watched the dust cloud until he heard some blades clashing within. Both, Asarirn and Terra, emerged from dust. Both Terra and Asarirn emerged from the smoke with their blades locked together. Even though the blades are locked to each other, Asarirn was the one being pushed back by Terra's strength.
Terra overpowered Asarirn with ease. With one swing, Terra sent Asarirn flying towards the trees. Asarirn quickly recovered in the air and used the momentum to his advantage. He summoned Ice Weaver and transformed it into a scythe. With blade of the scythe, Asarirn swung himself around the incoming tree. Once he gone around the tree, Asarirn jumped from the tree, disappearing into the forest.
Terra gave Shadow one last look before charging after Asarirn. Terra changed his weapon into a heavy axe. Anything that stood in his way, Terra would chop it down.
Shadow continued to stand on the pillar as he watched Terra disappeared into the forest. Shadow jumped down onto the ground as he didn't taken his attention from the forest.
"So," Shadow started to talk to himself, "who made the first move?" Shadow held up his dark blade toward the sky. The blade transformed into a smaller blade with a chain attached to it. A second blade appeared in the other hand; attached to the other end of the chain. "I guess I will fish him out."
-*RWBY*-
Team RWBY watched as the fight unfold before them. They watched as Asarirn knocked into the trees and disappeared into the forest. Ruby looked toward Ozpin and Glynda before speaking.
"We have to help him," Ruby told both professors. Only Glynda responded to Ruby's words by looking at her, while Ozpin continued to look on his screen. "I pretty sure that is not part of the exam," Ruby continued.
Glynda looked at Ozpin with a concern look. "Ms. Rose is right. We have to help the boy."
"We are not allowed to intervene," Ozpin responded without giving her attention.
Ruby looked toward her team for any support. Yang only shrugged without having a clue. Weiss shook her head in disappointment. As for Blake, she continued to watch the screen until something caught her attention.
"Weiss," Blake tried to grasp her attention. "The guy in the black robe has a Mystical Blade."
"What!?" Weiss sounded surprise. Weiss quickly peered onto the screen. To her surprise, she couldn't identify the blade.
"Arranis doesn't have a chance against those two," Blake explained. "Just because he has a Mystical Blade, doesn't mean he can take on two Mystical Blades."
"So that's why we are going to help," Ruby planned.
"They are right," Glynda stated.
"We can't intervene this fight," Ozpin quickly replied.
They can't believe what they are hearing from Ozpin. What was the purpose for enrolling Arranis if they are not going to help him? Team RWBY can't really go against their professors' reasons. The only thing they can do was to continue watching.
-*RWBY*-
Asarirn could hear trees are being destroy behind him. He knew they are chasing him. The only choice Asarirn had was putting some distance between them.
After a moment, the sound of destruction stopped. Asarirn stopped by a tree and listened for his enemies. The one thing he doesn't like was the sudden quietness coming from their direction.
Asarirn jumped back as he sensed something approaching. A blade shot towards him. Asarirn quickly held up Ice Weaver and noticed something that surprised him. He noticed the blade, itself, had a chain attached to it. Asarirn was ready for the attack, but stopped himself. He knew the technique very well enough that that blade was a fake.
Asarirn quickly turned around and deflected the unsuspecting second blade. Asarirn smiled but his expression changed immediately. As he turned, a third blade impaled through his right arm. The pain caused Asarirn to drop his blade. Asarirn could tell someone was about pull the other end of the chain. Immediately, Asarirn pulled the blade from his arm. The hole of his coat repaired itself, covering the wound.
Asarirn was caught off guard when Terra appeared next to him. Terra already had his heavy axe in full swing. Asarirn's eyes shifted to red. As Terra swung his axe towards him, Asarirn kicked up his Ice Weaver and caught it with his left hand. Asarirn held up his blade in protection. The ice blade transformed into a shield before the axe made contact. The force of the impact caused Asarirn to be sent falling. Asarirn smashed through a couple of trees before landing out of the open once more. Asarirn rolled onto his back in pain and stared into sky. Ice Weaver transformed back into its sword form. Asarirn continued to lay on ground until someone cast a shadow over his head. A pair of red eyes locked on his red eyes. It was Shadow.
"How does it feel to use that power?" Shadow asked as he stared Asarirn down. Asarirn noticed Shadow had his blade pointed straight down over him. Asarirn immediately threw his blade by his side. Asarirn teleported to his blade and rolled onto his feet. Then, Asarirn hastily turned around and swung low with his blade. However, Shadow appeared behind him and already jumped over the attack. Shadow slashed down with his sword but Asarirn countered it with an upper slash. Asarirn attempted to lunge toward Shadow but Shadow jumped back a few feet. At the same time, Ice shards formed around the blade and fired toward Shadow. Shadow managed to block all of Asarirn's attacks.
"You had grown weak, Asarirn," Shadow stated. Asarirn ignored Shadow's words, he doesn't want it to be true. "Not only that," Shadow continued on, "You need the help of your Mystical Blade to cast your spells." Shadow paused a bit to bask in the glory. "Not to mention, you're weak enough to unable to pay any attention to your surroundings."
Asarirn readied his stance but a hand grabbed his neck. Terra managed to get close to Asarirn without him noticing him. Asarirn tried to break his grip with his sword, however, Terra's swift punch in the gut ended Asarirn's resistance. Asarirn's Ice Weaver disappeared from his hand as he was lifted off the ground by his neck.
"This is too easy," Terra pointed out. "I don't why I need your help, he was too weak." Shadow only shrugged in respond as his blade vanished in black smoke. "It doesn't matter," Terra continued, "we will end this."
Asarirn felt Terra's grip tighten around his neck. Asarirn struggled to free himself. Asarirn needed to find a way to free himself, if not, he will die.
Author's Notes: Well that took longer than expected. Sorry about the cliffhanger and all that. This part was a lot longer than expect it to be. I didn't want to upload a long chapter (mostly over twelve thousands words). I couldn't tell what counts as a long chapter, so I thought it would be better to split it into two parts. If anyone knows how long my chapters should be, please pm me. So I have a better understanding of chapter management.
So anyway, many people would ask 'why it took you this long to upload?' Reason: I had many things that happen recently, besides finishing college for the year, I had to deal with some things. Now I have the chance to work on this fan fiction. So it won't be longer than one month... hopefully.
So thank you for reading and hope the next chapter would be up very soon.
