Team RWBY watched in horror as Terra began choking Arranis. Ruby had enough. She decided to take action. Ruby walked up toward the edge of the cliff; her teammates looked at her with curiosity. Ruby pulled out her Crescent Rose and extended its barrel.

"What are you planning to do, Ruby?" Yang asked.

"I'm planning to help Arranis from here," Ruby replied.

"I don't want to burst your bubble," Weiss began talking, "I don't think you can take the shot. It's too far away."

"I have to at least try," Ruby said as she looked down her sights. Yang and Weiss looked at each other with concern looks, while Blake simply watched.

Ruby prepared the bullet by loading it into the chamber. Ruby looked into her sights and began to look for her target. It was true that despite being a sniper rifle, her targets are too far away. She could barely see them but that's not going to stop her. Ruby took in a deep breath. After a moment, Ruby fired the bullet. Ruby quickly ran back to her teammates and looked onto the screen.

-*RWBY*-

Asarirn struggled to break Terra's hold. After a bit, Asarirn arms fell to his side in defeat.

"Looks you have given up," Terra said. Terra laughed to himself for a bit before looking back to Asarirn. He noticed Asarirn still had his red eyes open, staring at him intensely. A closer look at him shown something dark and emotionless about it.

Shadow sensed something dark coming from Asarirn. The same dark energy Shadow had but stronger.

"Terra!" Shadow called out to him.

Terra heard something coming towards him. Terra let go of his grip and moved his arm as a bullet slip barely passed his arm.

While in midair, Asarirn summoned both Ice Weaver in hand and slashed toward Terra, forcing him to jump back. Both Shadow and Terra retaliated by charging at him and unleashed an onslaught of attacks. However for Asarirn, with both blades, he managed to hold off the attacks with ease. Asarirn ended the attacks with a powerful spinning attack with his blades, forcing them back once more.

Terra stood there, staring at the different Asarirn. After a bit, he let out a deep breath before smiling.

"You look like you still have some stuff in you," Terra tried to joke around. Terra's expression changed as Asarirn disappeared from sight and then reappeared instantly behind him with his blade ready to attack. Terra couldn't react in time but Shadow intervene. Shadow suddenly appeared beside him and deflected the incoming attack. Asarirn jumped back from them and held up his blade, readying himself.

"You need to focus!" Shadow shouted at Terra. "You will die if you don't!"

Terra and Shadow looked toward Asarirn and noticed something from him. Black smoke started to engulf his blades. Asarirn dropped to one knee as he pressed his hand against his head. After a moment, the black smoke disappeared. Asarirn shook his head, like he had snap out of trance. Asarirn looked at Terra and Shadow for a bit. Without knowing, Asarirn turned around and sprinted back into the forest.

"He still hasn't control it," Shadow said to himself.

Terra stood there in deep thought before giving pursuit once more.

-*RWBY*-

Asarirn ran for a good bit, his eyes had shifted back to its normal brown color. He found shelter behind a tree. He made his left Ice Weaver disappeared. Asarirn knew it won't be long before those two would caught up to him. Asarirn planned to end this soon.

Asarirn held out both hands. Two light blue magic circle formed from each hand. Snow started to brew up before him. After collecting a bit of snow, the snow started to take shape. In the end, the snow transformed into two copies of Asarirn. Asarirn tossed his Ice Weaver to one on the left. The copy caught the blade and the two copies ran pass Asarirn toward the enemies.

At the same time, Terra managed to catch up to them. He noticed two people ran towards him; one with Ice Weaver and the other without.

"You think you attack me with a copy of yourself?" Terra reacted by the sight of those two. Terra readied himself as he clashed his blade with the Copy's.

As Asarirn heard the blades clashed, he proceed with his plans. Asarirn turned around to the tree behind him. He held out his hand and focus his mind. After a bit, nothing happens. Asarirn dropped his hand in defeat. But he was not going to give up.

"No…" Asarirn held out his hand once more. "I don't care if this spell would drain all my mana. I need to create that opening."

Asarirn focused his mind again. He clenched his right arm with his left hand. A red magic circle appeared in front of his hand. Asarirn was pleased by the sight of it and continued to focus.

Meanwhile, both the Copy and Terra fought head on; the other copy was nowhere to be found. Even with the Mystical Blade, the Copy can't deflect Terra's brute strength. The only thing the Copy could do now was buy Asarirn some time.

The unharmed copy was hiding behind a tree, waiting for a perfect opportunity to strike. Once the Copy managed to deflect the attack, the copy strikes. The copy ran toward Terra's back with great speed. However, as it came close to Terra, a black arrow impaled through the copy chest. The copy body transformed into snow before scattering into the wind.

"Looks like Shadow got me covered from the distance," Terra said to himself. Terra transformed his axe into a hammer. Terra quickly brought the hammer up before swinging the hammer down with full force over the Copy. The Copy managed to bring up the blade before the impact. The force of the impact caused a crater under the Copy's feet; yet the Copy still stands.

"Your ice magic is weak against the strength of the earth, Asarirn," Terra said to the Copy. Terra caught the Copy off guard by letting out a powerful kick into its chest. The force caused the Copy to be send flying before slamming into a tree. The Copy fell to the ground in defeat. "Weak," Terra commented.

The Copy slowly rose up from the ground, catching Terra by surprise.

"Still wanting some more?"

The next thing, the Copy slashed the tree behind within an instance. The Copy dropped the blade before dropping to the ground. Both the blade and the Copy transformed into snow before disappearing.

"That was a copy?!" Terra sounded surprise.

Terra watched as the tree, the Copy sliced, collapsed, revealing Asarirn's position. Terra was shock when he saw Asarirn. Asarirn stood there with the red magic circle. However, the difference was there were four smaller magic circles surrounding the first one. The four created a square and then another circle around the rest.

Asarirn struggled to chant out the remaining part of the spell. "Fire Magic: Blazing Mortars."

Terra watched as multiple fireballs shot out of the magic circle. Terra quickly turned around and sprinted away from the incoming attack. As the fireballs crashed into the ground, each let out a huge explosion; the destructive power of the fireball destroyed anything around it. Terra continued to run without the thought of looking back. Terra saw the opportunity to save himself. Terra managed to jump onto a low branch which was enough to boost himself high into the air.

Terra smiled by the thought that he managed to escape danger. However, his expression changed once again. There was another person waited for him in the air. That very person was Asarirn himself. Asarirn already had his blade in his hand. Asarirn quickly close in on Terra to deliver the final attack. Terra knew there was no way out of it. By some unfortunate event, Shadow appeared by Asarirn and brought a kick down over Asarirn, slamming him down to the earth. Terra was surprise by Shadow's speed.

Both Terra and Shadow landed safely as Asarirn struggled to get up. Both Terra and Shadow readied themselves as Asarirn got up from the ground. Asarirn stood there with Ice Weaver in hand. He knew he was at his limit. Asarirn had no choice but to run. Asarirn turned around and sprinted away from the two.

Terra watched as Asarirn run away once more. Terra still had the expression of being lucky to be alive.

"He ran again," Terra commented. Terra knew if he chase him again, it would be the same result.

Shadow walked up to Terra and placed a hand on his shoulder. Terra only looked at Shadow without saying anything.

"Listen, Terra," Shadow began to talk, "I don't want you to chase Asarirn anymore. I can handle it from here."

Whatever trance Terra was in, he snapped out of it. He turned to Shadow in anger.

"You can't take this chance from me!" Terra barked.

"Your desperation for killing Asarirn will only get yourself kill. It's better if I finish him off."

Terra stood there in shock. He couldn't believe what his brother was telling him. At the same time, he was right.

"I need your help to give me a boost," Shadow ordered.

Shadow jumped over Terra. Terra reacted by moving his weapon over his shoulder. Shadow landed on Terra's weapon.

"Remember what I said," Shadow finished. Terra swung his weapon with boundless force. Shadow was launched high into the air. At the peak of the height, Shadow summoned a black magic circle, aiming downwards toward Asarirn. Shadow landed on the magic circle. He had his blade pointed toward the direction Asarirn was heading. The magic circle launched Shadow at high speed toward Asarirn.

Meanwhile, Terra thought about what Shadow had said. The whole purpose for Terra's existence was to kill Asarirn Nightlyis. For Shadow to ask him not to chase him was like asking to disobey an order. Terra looked at the direction where Asarirn and Shadow were at, and decided to head for that direction also.

-*RWBY*-

Asarirn continued to sprint toward the Cliffside. He should have known he had no chance against those two. So escaping from those two was the only options for him.

Asarirn continued to run until he heard a faint yell. The yell, itself, couldn't be heard at first. By listening closely, you could tell what it was, "LOOK OUT!" Once Asarirn knew what it was, he turned around and jumped back. In a flash, Shadow appeared in front of him with his blade pointed towards him.

Both of the bodies collided and crashed into the side of the cliff. The impact caused a small cave within the cliff with a dust cloud covering the entrance. A huge cried of pain echoed throughout the forest.

-*RWBY*-

Team RWBY and everyone else heard the scream of pain from forest. Everyone knew for sure it was from Arranis. Team RWBY looked at the two professors for hope.

"What is the boy's condition?" Ozpin asked.

Glynda changed the settings on her screen. The picture changed into infrared mode. She inspected the picture for a brief moment before giving her diagnostics.

"Beside the injury in his right forearm," Glynda began to explain, "He had been impaled by the black robed man's sword."

"Location?"

Glynda looked back on the screen before answering, "Looks like the blade pierced beneath his right ribcage."

Ozpin gave a concern look as he continued to look on the screen. At this rate, Arranis was going to die.

"Sir?"

"Please prepare the medical team," Ozpin ordered. "Let just hope Arranis Shadow can live through this."

-*RWBY*-

Asarirn continued to cry in pain by the sword wound. He tried his best to pull the blade out but Shadow pressed the blade down on him. Asarirn quickly looked around. He noticed his blade rested beside him but out of reach. Asarirn reached for his blade. A tiny blue string like light came from his hand and reached for his blade.

Shadow grabbed Asarirn's hood and pulled it off of him. Shadow pulled his hood off and stared at Asarirn. Asarirn looked directly at Shadow's red eyes.

"Your power cannot be on par with my, Asarirn," Shadow explained.

"What are you?" Asarirn managed to ask with the intensive pain.

"I will tell you this," Shadow began to explain. "You are weak, Asarirn. I am the better half." Shadow looked at his blade and noticed a lot of blood ran from Asarirn's wound. He looked back at Asarirn, "If this doesn't kill you and you manage to heal this wound, the poison will kill you."

-*RWBY*-

"Poison?" Yang spoke.

Everyone looked at Yang for a brief moment. However, Blake recalled something very important.

Flashback…

Asarirn placed his bag, he had with him, at the foot of the bed before sitting on his bed. A small vial fell out of the bag and rolled to Ruby's feet. Ruby picked up the vial and examined it. The vial contained some green liquid.

"What is this?" Ruby asked. Asarirn held out his hand to Ruby. She handed the vial in responds. Asarirn took a quick glance of the vial before placed it back in the bag.

"It's an antidote for a poison," Asarirn explained.

"Why do you have that?" Yang asked.

"Yeah, the medical technology here are extremely well, there are no need to have that. These people can take care of you," Weiss explained.

"It's an antidote for a specific poison," Asarirn specified.

"What poison is that?" Ruby asked once more.

"A poison, I hope I will never encounter," Asarirn responded. "Let's keep it at that."

Flashback End…

"What is Blake?" Ruby tried to grab her attention.

"Do you think the antidote, Arranis had, have something to do with the poison that guy mention?" Blake questioned.

"I'm not too sure," Weiss concluded. "If the person in the black robe knows Arranis well enough, then it might be a possibility."

"Then what should we do?" Yang asked.

"I think I have a plan," Ruby said with confidents.

-*RWBY*-

"I think this is the part where you die, Asarirn," Shadow claimed. Asarirn struggled to pull the blade from his wound. "Any last words?"

The light blue string, from earlier, attached itself to the blade. The string caused the blade to glow. Shadow noticed the glowing blade. Asarirn pulled the string and caught the handle.

"I don't think I will have my last words yet," Asarirn remarked.

Shadow pulled up his hood and quickly pulled his blade from Asarirn as he jumped back.

"Death Spell: Death's Strike."

Asarirn swung his blade towards the opening. A shockwave from the blade fired at the opening.

Shadow slid back a few feet to give himself a better vantage point. The one thing he did not expect was Terra. Terra emerged from the forest close to the opening. Terra had his blade in hand, readying to fight. Shadow noticed the shockwave emerged the dust cloud.

Shadow jumped to his side and called out to Terra. "Dodge the Attack!" Shadow ordered. Terra did not do as he was told. Instead, Terra slammed his fist into the ground. A wall made from the earth rose up from the ground forming a wall. The shockwave, nether the less, sliced through the barrier before slicing through Terra.

Shadow watched as Terra was sliced into two. Terra's body glowed before transforming into a glowing brown orb. The orb was not bigger than an average fist. Shadow dashed for the orb. At the same, Asarirn emerged from the dust cloud with his hood up and Ice Weaver in hand, dashing toward the same direction, Shadow and the orb were at.

As the two closed in on the orb, Shadow readied his blade. Shadow's plan was for him to attack Asarirn, if Asarirn came close to the orb. However, Shadow noticed Asarirn shifted his direction by a slight bit. That is when Shadow realized Asarirn's intentions. Asarirn wasn't going for the orb, instead he was going for Shadow himself. Shadow stopped and held up his blade. Asarirn lunged at Shadow with his blade. The two blade locked together, struggling to overpower each other. Shadow broke free and slashed toward Asarirn. Asarirn jumped back before the blade made contact. As Asarirn jumped back from Shadow's attack, he managed to grab a hold of the orb.

"Got it," Asarirn said to himself.

Before Asarirn could react, Shadow appeared in front of Asarirn and delivered a powerful kick to the gut, enough to spend Asarirn flying. Asarirn crashed into the same cave in area. Another dust cloud brewed up by the force of the impact. After some time, no sound.

Shadow held up his blade and readied himself. Shadow could hear a faint that was barely hearable.

"The strength of the earth is my strength alone. Reveal your true form…. Rockslide."

Asarirn dashed from the cave with a giant great sword. The blade of the weapon was as long as Asarirn's body. The blade had the same design from Terra's weapon. Asarirn came in close and swung his massive blade with ease. Shadow blocked the attack but the force caused Shadow to slide back a couple of yards.

Shadow regained his stance and took up his blade. He noticed Asarirn disappeared from sight. Shadow quickly looked around his surrounding before looking up. Asarirn was in the air above Shadow, and he plunged his blade down toward Shadow. Shadow managed to jump out of the way of the blade as Asarirn impaled half the blade into the earth. The impact caused a huge crater from where the blade landed. Asarirn simply jumped onto the hilt of the impaled blade. Shadow dashed toward the 'suppose' unarmed Asarirn.

As he came close to Asarirn, Shadow readied his blade and slashed at Asarirn. Before the attack could land, Asarirn kicked the hilt of massive blade. The blade spun around, slicing itself free from the earth's grasp. Asarirn caught the spinning blade with one hand and slashed toward Shadow's attack. The two blades collided but the massive blade was too large for Shadow to handle. The force of the blade caused Shadow to be knock away into the air. Shadow quickly recovered by back flipping away and landed onto the ground. Asarirn swiftly jumped from the crater and attempted, with one hand to slam his blade at Shadow. Shadow simply leap from the ground before the attack landed. Shadow landed onto the top of a nearby tree. Asarirn pulled the blade from the ground and readied himself once more.

"My," Shadow started to speak, "This took an unsuspecting turn."

Asarirn only stared at Shadow to see what he was playing at.

"You know when someone makes the first move, they usually the first ones to die." Shadow's blade turned into black smoke and dispersed into the air. "If I recall correctly, you did not made the first move," Shadow stated. "You only made a run for the stupid chess piece, which caused Terra to make the first move and caused to die." Asarirn continued to hold his stance.

"You talked like you don't care about him."

"Terra died because of the mistakes he made," Shadow said in a harsh tone. "You should know that better than anyone." Shadow returned to a normal tone. "Well, I suppose I can give this victory to you."

Asarirn realized Shadow planned to leave and acted hastily. Asarirn swung the massive blade over his head and slammed it to the ground. Spikes of rock shot from the ground toward Shadow. Shadow leaped from his position into the air.

While in the air, Shadow spoke his last words, "Until next time, I bid you farewell." Shadow's body turned into black smoke before disappearing into the air. A faint voice echo from the forest, "Good luck with that poison."

Asarirn took a moment to take in what just happened. After a bit, Asarirn noticed the blood dripping from his wound. Asarirn dropped the heavy blade onto the ground as he collapsed onto the ground. Asarirn rolled on his back and started to breath heavily. What Asarirn wanted the most, was rest.

-*RWBY*-

Everyone watched as the fight ended in Arranis' favor. They watched as Arranis fell to the ground. Everyone was still surprise by the way the fight ended.

"Wow, I didn't expected he would be this strong," Nora commented. Team JNPR watched the whole event unfold from their spot.

"Able to wield the weight of heavy blade takes great strength," Pyrrha stated.

"I think it's best to provide help now, sir," Glynda told Ozpin.

"Look, Arranis is going to do something," Ruby called out to everyone.

Back on the screen, Arranis held up his arm. He rolled up his right sleeve back to reveal his wound. The camera zoomed close to the wound. On Arranis' arm, there was a clear hole through his arm; blood continued to run from it. Arranis laid his wounded arm onto the area of his body that was also wounded. Arranis took in a deep breath before speaking some words.

"Dark Regeneration," Arranis said out loud.

Everyone watched as Arranis' wounds began to cover by black smoke. The black smoke stayed over his wound for a couple seconds. Then, the black smoke disappeared, the wounds on his body were gone.

"Well I guess that takes of his wounds," Yang said.

"Then what about his poison?" Ruby asked. Everyone shrugged in responds, not sure if the poison is gone or not. "At least he is safe now."

"I wouldn't be sure about that," Ozpin responded.

"What do you mean?"

"Looks like Mr. Shadow had attracted some unwanted attention," Ozpin explained.

"More of those guys in robes?"

"No. Grimm."

"Then we have no choice but to help him out," Ruby tried to convince him one more time.

Ozpin let out a sigh before speaking, "We, instructors, cannot interfere with Mr. Shadow's exam."

Ruby smiled by Ozpin's responds. She turned to her teammates before speaking, "We are going to help Arranis out."

"What is the plan?" Blake asked.

"You will," Ruby pointed to her teammates, "help out Arranis and bring him back here."

"What are you going to do then?" Weiss interrogated.

"There is something I need to grab. I will be right back."

Before they can ask anymore question, Ruby vanished into thin air. There was a trail of rose petals leading back to the school.

-*RWBY*-

Asarirn stood up from the ground and walked to the wall of the cliff. He sat down by the wall and continued to rest.

"I'm all most out of mana," Asarirn said to himself.

After a few minutes, Asarirn heard a faint voice in his head.

"If you need mana, I can help you with that."

Asarirn stood up and walked over to the massive blade where he had left it. Asarirn picked up the massive blade without any effort. Asarirn chanted some under his breath before placing the blade onto his back. The blade magically stayed on his back. Asarirn was ready to move on.

However, the one thing that stopped Asarirn was a shadow flew over him. Asarirn looked into the sky to investigate. Asarirn noticed a strange black bird-like creature, circling around the area. The creature, itself, was a Nevermore.

The Nevermore let out a shriek cried before circling back to towards Asarirn. As the Nevermore closed in, the creature spread out its wings and flapped toward Asarirn. Feathers shot out from his wings at the Asarirn's location.

Asarirn crossed his arm over his face and chanted a spell, "Earth Magic: Absolute Defense." Asarirn's body was surrounded by a brown light. The feather impacted into his body without it having piercing his skin. The feather that didn't hit Asarirn destroyed the area around him. The assault of the feathers ended and the Nevermore flew away.

Asarirn loosen his stance and the glowing light fainted. The nevermore circled back once more to strike again. Asarirn anticipated the incoming attack and readied another spell.

"Ice form my mirror which reflect back my enemies' actions."

Ice formed, in front of Asarirn, into a mirror. The Nevermore spread its wings and flapped once more. Feathers shot from the wings toward the mirror. The feathers bounced off the mirror and hovered near the mirror. Once the firing seized, the feathers, which are hovering in the air, turned back toward the Nevermore and fired back at it. The Nevermore flew away in order to dodge the incoming feathers.

Asarirn watched as the Nevermore flew away without circling back again. However, the Nevermore let out a cry, like it was alerting something. The mirror of the spell shattered into pieces.

"Well, that was something," Asarirn said to himself. Asarirn collapsed onto his hands and knees. "I'm using too much mana…"

Asarirn stood once more to his feet. He dusted the dirt off his coat. A loud crackling alerted Asarirn. He turned to side and found another creature. The creature was a scorpion like thing but bigger than normal size. It was a Death Stalker.

"Well, that is a big scorpion," Asarirn managed to say.

The Death Stalker slowly closed in on Asarirn, stalking its prey. Asarirn focus his attention on its claws while he held his stance. The Death Stalker tried to clamp Asarirn down with its claws. Asarirn grabbed the massive blade off his back and knocked the claws away. The attacks gone for bit before the Death Stalker changed its plans.

The next attack caused Asarirn to swing his blade upward in a full arc. The Death Stalker predicted Asarirn's counter and prepared its next attack. The Death Stalker held back its stinger and struck at Asarirn. Asarirn quickly moved his body barely in time to miss the stinger. As Asarirn held the massive blade in the air, he summoned Ice Weaver in his left hand. In one swift motion, Asarirn spun around and slice through the Death Stalker's stinger. The Death Stalker back away as it cried in pain.

"That was easy," Asarirn commented. Asarirn made Ice Weaver vanished from his hand.

Before he could finish off the creature, Asarirn noticed two more Death Stalker appeared behind the injured Death Stalker. Asarirn held up his blade in prepare for the assault. However, Asarirn quickly planted the massive blade into the ground as he fell onto his knees. Asarirn covered his mouth with his hands as he coughed violently. He looked at his hand and noticed his hand was covered in blood. Asarirn felt like he could blackout at any moment. He had no choice but to run. Asarirn pulled the blade from the ground. In one motion, he spun the massive blade before he placed onto his back. He quickly turned around and ran for the starting area.

Asarirn ran for the place that Ozpin and everyone else were be. The three Death Stalker continued to give their pursuit. It wasn't long until he reached a problem that he didn't expect. As he was approaching the cliff that would be his safe haven, he encountered that problem. There was an old ruin that severed as a bridge over a drop. However, the old ruins was destroyed, leaving with only pillars.

Asarirn slowed down his pace until he reached the edge of the drop. Even though he was being chased by the Death Stalkers, he casually walked to the bridge which it was once at. After a quick inspection, he realized that the bridge was recently destroyed. What makes matters worse, Asarirn heard something that he didn't expect to hear. A loud shriek was heard from the distance. Asarirn recognized the cry. The Nevermore flew from over the trees towards Asarirn. But, accompanying the Nevermore was a second Nevermore.

Asarirn slowly back away toward the drop, trying to figure out a way out of this.

"Okay, if you are going to give me mana, now is the time for it," Asarirn said to himself.

Asarirn planted the massive blade into ground, he kneel before the blade. Four blue magic circles appeared, circling around Asarirn. "I will ascend to my next form, The Path of The Angels."

As the creatures of Grimm closed in on Asarirn, he simply pulled the blade out and back flipped off the edge into the drop. The Death Stalkers walked toward the edge and then stopped. They don't know what just happens. The Nevermore simply circled around, hoping that their prey would come out. It didn't take long before Asarirn emerged from the depths.

Asarirn flew out of the depths and hovered in the air in front of the creatures of Grimm. Asarirn held up the massive blade ready to fight. The only difference for Asarirn's appearance was the wings on his back. The wings are like of an Angel, but it was the color of ice.

"Angelic Form," Asarirn finished talking.

The two Nevermore charged for the winged Asarirn. Asarirn managed to move away from the path of Nevermore. Asarirn circled back around and charged for one of the Nevermore. Asarirn held up the massive blade in prepare for the attack. The blade began glow in white light.

"Angelic Strike!" Asarirn called out as he slashed at the Nevermore. But, the Nevermore barreled out of the reach of the attack.

Things turned for the unexpected worse for Asarirn. As Asarirn turned around, he noticed a crack on his left wing. "That is too soon!" Asarirn quickly landed on a nearby pillar. Asarirn realized that one of the Nevermore began to charge for Asarirn.

"I have no choice," Asarirn said as he placed the massive blade on his back. "With one wing as my charge, empower my spell."

Asarirn held out his hand as he made another magic circle. However, the magic circle began to absorb his left wing. Once the magic circle finished absorbing, the magic glowed brightly.

"The coldness of ice chill my enemies,"

"Ice Magic: Frostbite."

The Nevermore swoop down and charged at Asarirn. As the Nevermore closed in, Asarirn jumped from the pillar, leaving only the magic circle. Asarirn caught the edge of the pillar as the Nevermore ran through the magic circle without having any effect on it. At first, the Nevermore simply flapped in place to keep its altitude. But after a bit, the flapping of the Nevermore began to slow down dramatically. A closer look at the Nevermore shown a bit of ice started to form around it. Over time the ice covered the Nevermore completely, rendering immobilized. Because of the ice, the Nevermore was unable to maintain its flight and plunged towards the depths. Asarirn continued to hang from the pillar until he heard a loud sound of breaking glass. With the help of his right wing, Asarirn pushed himself back onto the top of the pillar.

The second Nevermore simply circled around Asarirn, waiting for a perfect opportunity to attack. Asarirn already noticed his right wing began to crack. He doesn't have much time left, he needed to use the charge again. Asarirn held out his hand for the next spell. His right wing began to form into a ball of blue light in his hand. Once the wing disappeared, Asarirn aimed for the other Nevermore. The Nevermore increased its speed. Because of the increased speed, Asarirn had trouble aiming for the Nevermore. Asarirn fired the orb high into the air.

Asarirn held out his hand to the orb before chanting, "Ice Magic: Ice Shower."

The orb transformed into a large magic circle. Ice shards rained down from the sky. The Nevermore managed to fly out of the range of the magic circle to miss the attack. The Ice rain only lasted for a least a minute before disappearing.

The Nevermore saw the perfect opportunity to attack. The Nevermore swoop down and charged at Asarirn. As the Nevermore came close, Asarirn flipped himself onto the Nevermore's back. At the same time, Asarirn summoned Ice Weaver in his hand and planted the blade onto its back.

The Nevermore reacted by dashing high into the air, trying to throw off its unwanted guest. Asarirn tried his best to hang on to the handle of his blade. The force of wind pressing against his face wasn't helping either. Once the Nevermore flew high enough, Asarirn planted both his feet onto the back of the creature, pulled the blade from its back, and jumped off.

While in the air, Asarirn slowly descended toward the earth. Asarirn held back Ice Weaver and aimed for the top of the cliff. But, the poison has taken a toll on his body. Before he threw his blade, his vision burred out. Asarirn threw the blade, but the spinning blade missed its mark and impaled into side of the cliff down below. Asarirn disappeared from the air and then reappeared at the impaled blade. Asarirn hanged from the handle of the blade over the drop. Asarirn tapped the cliff side with the tip of his boot. Ice formed beneath his feet, forming a makeshift platform. Asarirn pulled the blade the cliff side. The moment the blade was pulled, Ice Weaver disappeared into snow without command. Asarirn simply sat by the cliff, resting for the next attack.

Asarirn noticed the Nevermore was confuse for a moment. But then, the Nevermore managed to lock eyes on its prey. As the Nevermore closed in on Asarirn, two fireballs blasted onto the Nevermore, staggering it. Asarirn also noticed, after the blast, a figure jumped from the cliff and landed onto the Nevermore. A closer look at the figure revealed to be Blake. It appeared that Blake jumped onto the Nevermore's back to distract it.

A shadow over Asarirn caught Asarirn's attention. As he looked up, he noticed a figure dropping down over him. Asarirn placed his hand onto the platform. The ice platform extended further out, allowing more room. The person landed in front of Asarirn. That person was Yang.

"It's you," Asarirn easily remarked by Yang's presence.

"Sounds like you don't remember our names," Yang simply looked at Asarirn with a displeased look. Asarirn only shrugged in responds, too exhausted to speak. "I got to say, those wing you had was pretty awesome."

"Why are you here?" Asarirn asked.

"Well it's obvious, we are here to get you out of here."

Asarirn simply looked at his hand. He done some quick hand motion, by opening and closing his hand. It's at this point that he had somewhat lost feeling in his hand.

Yang turned her back and crouched before Asarirn. "Get on," Yang only said. Asarirn reached out for Yang's back and climbed onto her back. Once that was done, Yang stood up and began to climb the cliff.

As Yang started to climb the cliff side, Asarirn felt like he was about to blackout. He tried to his best to hold his grip onto Yang. But in the end, he couldn't hold onto to Yang. Yang felt Asarirn slipping off of her and immediately grabbed his wrist.

"Come on, it's not the time to take naps, Arranis," Yang called out to Asarirn. Asarirn was unresponsive at first, but then looked up toward Yang. Asarirn quickly climbed back onto Yang's back.

"What happened?" Yang asked as she began to climb again.

"My body is shutting down, I don't have much time."

"How long do you have?"

"Less than an hour."

Yang continued to climb with increased pace until they both heard a warning cry. "Look out!"

Both Yang and Asarirn looked toward the direction of the cry. Even though Blake was the one distracting it, she couldn't distract it. The Nevermore flew in close to Asarirn and Yang, and flapped its wings at them. Feather fired at the two climbers. Asarirn reacted quickly as he held out his hand and summoned Ice Weaver. The sword appeared before transforming into a staff. He made one quick spin before planting it into the side of the cliff.

"Ice Barrier," Asarirn called out.

Before the feathers landed, a blue globe-like structure covered both Yang and Asarirn. The feather bounced off the barrier, but managed to strike at the surrounding area. Because of that, the feathers managed to destroy the area that Yang used to climb on. Yang's hand slip off the rocks. Asarirn grabbed Yang's hand as he hanged onto the planted staff. Yang looked up to Asarirn, trying to think of a way out of it.

"Tap your boots against mine," Asarirn ordered. Yang lifted up her leg and tapped against Asarirn's foot. Yang's foot began to glow in light blue light.

"Now what?"

"Tap your boots against the wall." Yang tapped her feet against the wall. Ice began to form underneath Yang's feet, forming another platform.

Asarirn let go of Yang's hand, letting her fall onto the platform. Asarirn caused the staff to disappear, before joining Yang on the platform. As he landed, he stumbled a bit. Yang quickly hold Asarirn from falling down. A third person joined them on the platform. It was Weiss.

"What is going on?" Weiss asked.

"Looks like Blake can't distract it while we climb for it."

"That creature won't let progress any further," Asarirn pulled the massive blade from his back. "That's why we need to kill it."

"Do you have a plan?" Yang asked.

"Yes, but I need your help."

"I'm down for it," Yang easily accepted.

"It's going to be reckless," Asarirn explained.

Yang placed her hand on Asarirn's shoulder and gave a thumbs up. "Oh, don't worry this is nothing."

Asarirn looked at Weiss for any support from her. Weiss simply rolled her eyes before speaking, "I suppose I could help you."

Asarirn looked at Yang. "By any chance, you could distract that. It appeared she can't maintain it any longer."

"I got this."

Asarirn looked at Weiss. "You can make makeshift platforms, right?"

"I suppose."

"Can anyone use it?"

"If I allow it, then yes."

"Okay, the plan is I need you," Asarirn pointed at Yang, "to switch places with her, "Asarirn pointed at Blake, "and distract it. While for you," Asarirn pointed at Weiss, "I need you to provide support when needed. When I give the signal, place a platform underneath it."

"And what are you going to do?" Weiss asked.

"I need to prepare my next attack."

Asarirn watched as both, Yang and Weiss, leaped off the platform to begin the plan. Asarirn held out the massive blade, focusing his mind for the attack. Asarirn's body began to cover in a white light.

Meanwhile…

Blake tried her best to distract the Nevermore, but it wasn't working. Before long, she noticed Yang on top of one of the pillars, giving a signal with her hands. Blake knew the signal as to fall back. Blake jumped from the Nevermore's back towards the platform at the cliff side. At the same time, Yang fired a couple of fireballs at the Nevermore to prevent it from progressing closer.

Blake landed next to Asarirn on the platform and was astonish by Asarirn's appearance. Both Asarirn and his blade was covered in white light. The way Asarirn held the blade was like he was charging something. Blake looked back at the battle. Yang continued to fire at the Nevermore, distracting it, while Weiss provided platforms for Yang when needed.

Blake looked back at Asarirn. The light around his body disappeared, returning to normal. Asarirn looked at Blake for a brief moment before looking back at the matter at hand. Asarirn crouched low as he held out the massive blade with one hand.

"What are you going to do?" Blake asked.

"I'm going to kill that thing," Asarirn said.

Asarirn dashed from the platform as high speed toward the battlefield. As Asarirn came close to the Nevermore from underneath, he gave the signal. "Now!" Weiss quickly held out her hand at the Nevermore, forming a glyph underneath it. Asarirn briefly landed on the glyph before shooting himself straight up. Asarirn readied his blade and upper slashed at the Nevermore, but the Nevermore barreled to the left, missing the attack.

"He missed the attack!" Yang called out.

"You're not going away this time!" Asarirn yelled as he spun his body around. In one arm movement, Asarirn threw the massive blade at the Nevermore, piercing at its side. Asarirn quickly held out both of his hands as a brown magic circle appeared in front of him.

"Earth Magic: Rock Spires!" Asarirn chanted out.

Spikes, made of rocks, shot out of the Nevermore's body, killing it instantly. While in air, Asarirn swung his arm out and a blue string appeared between Asarirn and the massive blade. The massive blade was pulled from the Nevermore while it was dropping into the earth. Asarirn reached for the incoming blade, but he managed to miss the handle. At same time, Asarirn was blacking out.

"I guess this is it for me," Asarirn slowly said as he began to descend into the earth.

As he descended toward the earth, Asarirn didn't try to recover; he believed there was nothing he could have done. However, things never goes as expected. Asarirn's body was caught by someone in midair.

"Don't worry, I got you," the person said to Asarirn.

Asarirn heard the voice before regaining conscious. Asarirn opened his eyes and tried to look at the person that was carrying him. Asarirn noticed Yang was the one carrying him. Asarirn allowed Yang to carry him until they reached the platform. Both they landed on the platform and there they were greeted by Blake and Weiss.

Asarirn gone off of Yang, he stumble a bit to gain his bearings. Both, Weiss and Blake, made sure Asarirn could stand upright. Asarirn simply leaned against wall to rest. Asarirn noticed Yang was carrying his massive blade with one hand with ease.

Yang held out the weapon towards Asarirn.

"Here," Yang gestured the weapon to Asarirn. "I got to admit, this isn't very heavy."

Asarirn gave a confuse look at Yang before reaching for his weapon. Asarirn only used the massive blade as a support to help him stand.

"That was better than expected," Weiss said.

"Yeah, but it was awesome!" Yang cheerfully commented. "Arranis here, not only took those mysterious people, but managed to defeat two Nevermores."

"Well he couldn't kill the other one without our help," Blake clarified.

Their conversation quickly ended as they heard someone coughing violently. They turned to Asarirn. Asarirn had his hand over his mouth as he continued to cough. A closer look at Asarirn's hand, everyone noticed there were blood on it.

"He needs help," Yang stated. Everyone nodded in agreement. They grabbed Asarirn and proceed to climb the cliff side.

-*RWBY*-

Ozpin watched as Asarirn and members of Team RWBY climbed onto the top of the cliff. Asarirn walked a couple of steps before collapsing onto his hands and knees. Ozpin turned his attention to the group of medical specialists on standby. Ozpin gave a signal to the group. Both the medical group and Ozpin approached Asarirn.

"Arranis, I need you to roll onto your back," Ozpin ordered. "Don't worry, I will cover your face."

Asarirn only responded by heavy breathing before doing as he was told. Ozpin quickly pulled out a handkerchief and place it onto Asarirn's face. Ozpin looked at the medical team before nodding to them.

The medical team quickly moved in and surrounded Asarirn. One of the people started to undo Asarirn's coat, revealing Asarirn's black shirt and pants. Another person immediately produced a pair of scissor and began cutting open Asarirn's shirt. The whole medical team stopped as soon as they saw what lied beneath the shirt.

Yang peered over the medical team to look at Asarirn's condition. Yang noticed black markings all over Asarirn's body.

"That are some crazy tattoos you got there, Arranis," Yang commented.

However, the so-called 'tattoos' continued to spread throughout Asarirn's body. Yang jumped by the sight of the moving 'tattoos.' "Okay scratch that, those are not tattoos."

"What is the boy's condition?" Ozpin asked the medical team.

"Based on the boy's condition," one of people began to explain, "He has an unidentified poison in his system." Everyone widen their eyes in responds.

"Also," another person added, "based on the speed of the poison, the boy's doesn't have much time left."

"Is there any you can about it?" Blake pleaded.

"We are dealing with a poison we have never seen before. We don't enough information to produce an antidote for this poison."

Everyone was dead silent by Asarirn's fate. Asarirn continued to breathe heavily as he struggled to stay conscious. Everyone knew Asarirn doesn't have much time left. But suddenly, Ruby appeared next to them.

"Did I miss anything," Ruby asked while out of breathe.

"Where were you?" Weiss interrogated.

"I've gone to get this," Ruby held up a small vial with green liquid inside.

"What is it?"

"The antidote to Arranis' poison."

"Antidote!" Everyone sounded surprise.

"Inject…" Asarirn began to speak, "with that…"

Ruby handed the antidote to the medical team which they prepared for it. After adding the liquid into the syringe, they rolled Asarirn's sleeve. They inject Asarin with the green liquid. The black marking on Asarirn's body stopped spreading and slowly retracted to its original position. The original position was the area below Asarirn's chest. The only thing that's left was a big black bot.

"Now there is a black dot on his body," Weiss commented.

Asarirn quickly rolled onto his hands and knees, and pulled out a knife from under his coat. In one swift motion, Asarirn cut over the area with the black dot and squeezed over the wound. A little bit of blood produced before producing a stream of black like ooze. Asarirn continued to squeeze on the wound until it stopped producing the black substance. Asarirn closed up his coat before sitting on the ground. Ruby sat down next to Asarirn.

"Are you okay?" Ruby asked.

Asarirn didn't a responds at first. But he had no choice in this matter.

"I'm fine," Asarirn responded. Asarirn placed his hand on Ruby's shoulder before continuing, "I have to thank you. If you didn't bring the antidote, I wouldn't make it."

Ruby smiled by Asarirn's responds.

"How do you have the antidote to the unknown poison?" one of the medical person asked.

Asarirn didn't look at the person but still explain. "Because," Asarirn paused a bit, "I am the one who invented that poison."

Everyone looked at Asarirn with a bit of shock. More question has been raised by Asarirn's explanation. Especially, the man in the black robe use of the poison on Asarirn.

"Well anyhow," Glynda snapped everyone's thought. "Mr. Shadow should rest while we reschedule his exam."

"What do you mean?" Ruby seemed confuse.

"Due to the mishap earlier, Mr. Shadow failed to complete his objective."

"Oh come on," Yang argued. "Not only he took on mysterious people but also managed to take on Grimm no problem."

"Doesn't matter, he failed to complete the task, he has been given."

Team RWBY looked at Asarirn with a sadden look. However, Asarirn continued to casually sit on the ground. After a couple of seconds later, Asarirn reached under his coat and grabbed something from it. Asarirn tossed the item to Glynda. Glynda caught the item and quickly inspected it. In her hand was a white knight chess piece. She looked at Asarirn with disbelief.

"I never fail an objective," Asarirn explained.

"Well that changes everything," Ozpin stated.

-*RWBY*-

Ozpin took the stage in front the students of Beacon. Off to the side, stood Asarirn. Asarirn stood with the massive blade on his back and his regular blade rested on his back waist. Asarirn could already hear the other students whispering amongst themselves. Asarirn could figured out they are talking about him, but he chose to ignore them. The whispers ended as soon as Ozpin cleared his throat.

"Arranis Shadow," Ozpin presented Asarirn, "You have proven yourself to become a student here at Beacon." The whispering has begun once more, but ended in seconds. "Not only you can handle unexpected situation, but managed to take down Grimm when needed. That is the nature of a true Huntsman."

Everyone clapped for Asarirn for a bit.

"You will study here to hone in your skills to become a Huntsman. Now," Ozpin paused a bit, "people are wondering if Arranis, here, is going to be a one-man team."

Everyone started to talk about it for a bit.

"Arranis will not be a one-man team," Ozpin continued to talk in an attempt to quiet everyone down. "Arranis, here, will join an already existing team. To determine which team he will join, will be based on the relic Arranis has chosen. The relic represents a team that chosen the same relic previously. Arranis has chosen the white knight."

Asarirn noticed on the display shown an image of the white knight chess piece. Ozpin continued to speak.

"The team that chosen this relic previously," Ozpin paused for dramatic effect, "Is Team RWBY."

Asarirn watched as Team RWBY walked onto the stage. They walked until they stopped in front of Asarirn.

"Would the leader present yourself to your new teammate," Ozpin directed.

Ruby stepped forward and walked up to Asarirn. Asarirn hasn't given much thought of who was the leader of this team. He didn't expect for Ruby to be the leader. However, as Ruby smiled to Asarirn, Asarirn could feel the full pride of a leader within her.

"I guess I am your leader," Ruby spoke.

Asarirn simply bow to Ruby before speaking, "I will follow your lead, leader."

Ruby smiled as she extended her hand to Asarirn, Asarirn grasped her hand in responds. They both shook hands as the rest of the students began to clap.

A thought had appeared in Asarirn's head. A thought which he didn't thought about until this point. How Asarirn should prepare for his first day of school.

Author's note: Hooray, It didn't took me a month to upload the next chapter. Nuff said.
