Weiss stood in front of the shelves of the library, scouting for a particular book. Once she spotted the book, she quickly snatched it. She looked around to ensure no saw her. Once she confirmed no one had spotted her, she headed for the nearest table.
Weiss sat at a table and opened the book. She began to read the contents of it, she had a pleasant look on her face as she read. Weiss read the story:
"Once there was a god, who created ten powerful blades, known as the Mystical Blades. Each blade had their own elemental property; Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Nature, Lightning, Ice, Energy, Light and Darkness."
"The god passed the weapons down to his ten sons and daughters. They each have been given a task to roam around the mortal world and conquered the lands to impress their father."
"Using their new found weapons, each of the sons and daughters set out for their quest. However, the second eldest son disapproved their course of action. That man carried the Mystical Blade of Ice; Ice Weaver. This is the story of the man with the blade."
Weiss decided to close the book, stopping for the time being. She looked around her area once more, but found the area to be barren. She picked up the book and headed for the door.
A woman behind a counter greet Weiss with a simile as Weiss approached her.
"I would like to check out this book," Weiss presented the book to the Librarian.
"The Man With The Blade," the Librarian read the title, "Such a famous story amongst the young children. Do you have a younger sibling?"
"Uh, yes. I usually read it to them."
"Ah, that is nice," the Librarian handed the book back to Weiss, "well, enjoy the book."
"I will," Weiss thanked the woman and proceed out the door.

The whole team lounged around in their room later that day. Asarirn laid on his bed with his hands behind his head, Ruby sat on her bed, inspecting Crescent Rose thoroughly, Weiss hummed a tune as he read a book on her bed, Blake was also reading a book on her bed, and Yang laid, face first, on her bed, felt extremely bored.
"So Arranis," Yang tried to grab Asarirn's attention, "What do you usually do?"
"Not much, why?"
"I don't know, I just usually see you laying on your bed most of the time."
"Is that bad?"
"No," Ruby declined, "We just wondering what you do."
Asarirn pulled out his scroll from his coat and checked the time. He stood up from his bed as he was putting away his scroll.
"Well, I will be back later," Asarirn said.
"Where are you going?" Blake asked as she gave Asarirn a quick glare.
"I heading to Professor Oobleck's office," Asarirn explained as he headed to the door, "I need to discuss with him about one of his lessons that I didn't understand."
"You know he's going to lecture you for hours on end," Yang stated.
Asarirn stopped as he opened the door. He let out a sigh, "that is what I'm afraid off," Asarirn said as he left the room.
Weiss watched as Asarirn left the room. She closed her book and glared over to Asarirn's bed.
"You know what I notice?" Yang asked.
"What is it?" Blake asked.
"I noticed Arranis is a bit more social around us now than he was when we all met him."
"What do you expect?" Ruby said as she dropped from her bed. "He is not going to be anti-social towards us."
"Like Blake? No offends," Yang commented. Blake gave a simple death glare from her bed before continuing reading.
Without saying anything, Weiss stood up from her seat and quickly headed for Asarirn's bed. She picked up the sheathed blade that laid at the foot of the bed.
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked with a concern look. Even Blake and Yang gave Weiss concern looks also.
"I wonder why Arranis would use this blade rather than using his Mystical Blade. If you prefer a better weapon, then I would say the Mystical Blade would be the best option."
"What if he comes back?"
"Relax, he's going be gone for a while before he comes back."
"But…" Ruby tried to find the words to say.
"Didn't you say we wanted to know more about Arranis?"
Ruby considered Weiss' words very carefully. But in the end, Ruby caved. "I hate it when you are right."
Even Blake and Yang decided to join Weiss as they also were interested in Asarirn's blade.
Weiss pulled the blade from the sheath as soon as the girls stood by her side. She thoroughly inspected the blade carefully, even the inscription on the blade. The result caused her to be confuse.
"There is nothing special about this blade except for the writing," Weiss concluded.
"Do you recognize the writing?" Yang asked.
Weiss shook her head in responds before passing the blade to Yang. Yang took hold of the blade and examined it herself. She couldn't find any special from the weapon.
"Look so simple," Yang stated, "something Jaune would use."
Yang passed the blade to Blake. Blake held the blade up before preforming quick short sword movement.
"I don't know Yang," Blake said as she stared at the blade, "this blade is design to be one-handed, something I would use."
Blake gave the blade to Ruby. Ruby held up the blade for a moment before examining the weapon. She examined the blade so closely, like a professional craftsman inspecting the blade's detail.
"I don't know if Arranis made this or not, but this is a finely crafted blade," Ruby commented.
Ruby handed the blade to Asarirn. Asarirn held up the blade as he stared at the blade.
"You really think so?" Asarirn asked.
It took the girls a few moments before realizing Asarirn's presence. The girls jumped in surprised, Asarirn simply tilt his head in confusion.
"Ah, why are you here?!" Ruby still had the surprised look.
"I live here," Asarirn simply replied.
"That's not she meant," Weiss sounded as surprise as Ruby. "Didn't you left to talk to Professor Oobleck?"
Asarirn walked to the desk and pick up a textbook. "I forgot my textbook," Asarirn explained.
The girls stood there without making any sudden movements, they waited for Asarirn to comment on their action. However, Asarirn simply handed the blade back to Weiss. They all gave Asarirn a confuse look in responds.
"Just make sure you put it back once you are done," Asarirn said as he headed for the door.
"Wait," Weiss stopped Asarirn. "You're just going to let us look at your weapon?"
"I doubt you're going to do any malicious deed with my weapon."
"If you are willingly to let us look at your blade, then surely you could let us look at your Mystical Blade."
"No," Asarirn said in a cold tone, "Like I said before, I have no intension of doing that."
Asarirn left the room without saying another, leaving everyone in disbelief.
"Wow, he sounded like he was cool with it until you asked for the Mystical Blade," Yang commented.
Weiss gave a bit of a sadden look as she sheathed Asarirn's blade. She placed the blade back where she had found it. Ruby couldn't help but felt worry for Weiss.
"Why are you so interested in Arranis' Mystical Blade?" Ruby decided to ask Weiss.
Weiss didn't say anything as she was hesitated for a moment. She let out a single sigh as she decided to explain. "Because," Weiss tried to find the words, "since I was little, it been my dream to find such a powerful weapon and be able to wield it."
Yang placed her hand on Weiss' shoulder. "I know one day you are able to wield that weapon. It just right now, Arranis finds it very annoying for you to ask for it."
-*RWBY*-
Hours later, Asarirn walked back into the room, acting like nothing had happened. But as he entered, the girls couldn't help but stare at him. Asarirn could only assumed it was what he said earlier. Weiss walked up to Asarirn with the intension to talk.
"Look," Weiss began to talk, "I would like to apologize for my action earlier."
Ruby and the rest smiled for Weiss' action. Asarirn stood there, listening.
"But…" Weiss continued, "I also like to apologize for my future action. I would like to see Ice Weaver."
Ruby and rest expressions changed as soon as Weiss demanded for the blade.
"I admire your persistency," Asarirn said as he walked pass Weiss, "but I find it very annoying."
"Why are you always hiding these weapons?"
"Like I said before, I have no intension of telling you," Asarirn said in an irritated tone.
"Weiss, you need to stop," Ruby pleaded.
"I want to know why you are able to wield it," Weiss continued as her tone raised.
"You don't need to know."
"But."
"I SAID NO!" Asarirn finally snapped. Weiss was speechless, even Asarirn knew he had taken it too far.
The next thing caught Asarirn off guard. Weiss got on her knees and bowed her head close to the ground.
"Please," Weiss pleaded, "I just wanted to know if I am able to wield such a blade."
Asarirn stood there motionless as he tried to figure his next course of action. He looked at the rest of the girls for their responds, they only shrugged in responds. Asarirn looked down on Weiss as she continued to hold the pose.
Weiss watched as Asarirn walked away without saying a word. Her eyes began to tear up as she believed her dream of wielding the blade may not come true. However, she noticed Asarirn stopped in front of one of the desk.
Asarirn continued to stand in front of the desk without saying anything. The girls doesn't know what to expect from Asarirn at this point. Asarirn let out a sigh of frustration before holding out his hand. The blade, Ice Weaver, appeared in his hand. Asarirn placed the blade on the desk before stepping to the side. Asarirn turned to Weiss and gestured to the blade, presenting the blade.
Weiss stood up from the ground. She quickly wiped her eyes before anyone could see the tears. Weiss approached the desk with the legendary blade on it. She couldn't believe this was happening. As she approached the desk, Asarirn walked to the front of his bed and simply watched Weiss.
Weiss stared at the blade for a moment before picking it up. Immediately, her eyes widen in shock as the blade snapped in half upon pick up. She simply stared at the broken blade without questioning it. She believed there was no way she could wield Ice Weaver.
Asarirn approached Weiss without saying anything. The moment he approached Weiss, Weiss turned around, handed the broken blade to Asarirn and began to walk away. But, Asarirn quickly grabbed Weiss' wrist, preventing her from going anywhere.
Weiss watched as Asarirn held out the broken blade, reforming it to its original form. She believed he was showing off the fact he could wield the blade, but her thought changed as soon as Asarirn placed Ice Weaver back on the desk. Asarirn made a gesture to Weiss before walking back to his bed.
Weiss looked back at Asarirn with a confuse look, not understanding what she should do. Because of the hood, she couldn't tell his expression and what she supposed to do. Before she could say anything, Asarirn decided to talk.
"Don't think Ice Weaver as a tool of war, but a thing of beauty," Asarirn explained, "Something you dance with into battle."
"But," Weiss still sounded confuse.
Asarirn let out a sigh before continuing, "If you believe you could wield this Mystical Blade, then use what I told you."
Weiss looked back at the Mystical Blade on the desk, trying to figure out what Asarirn meant. She gazed upon the blade, admiring the design of the weapon. She placed her hand on the blade, she felt the cold touch of the blade. Next, she ran her hand across the blade of the weapon, feeling the shape of the blade.
Ruby looked at Asarirn, he simply stood there as he stared at Weiss. She can't understand why, right now, he allowed Weiss to look at the Mystical Blade, even though he tried so hard to ensure no one sees it. Could it be he felt sorry for her?
After a bit, Weiss finally gasped the blade. She held up the blade, to her surprise, the blade did not break. Weiss decided to perform a quick swing, yet the blade retained it form. She decided to take one step further. She spun herself around with the blade, like she was dancing with Ice Weaver. Weiss ended the dance as soon as she pointed the blade at Asarirn, which he didn't flinch.
Weiss realized what she done, but Asarirn stood there motionless. Weiss placed the blade on both of her hands and presented it to Asarirn. Asarirn grabbed the handle and held it out. Ice Weaver vanished into snow. Asarirn looked back at Weiss.
"I want you to answer my question," Asarirn said, Weiss doesn't like where this was going, "Why are you obsess with this blade?"
"Doesn't everyone would be also if it was the Mystical Blade?"
"True, but they are not obsess as much as you do," Asarirn explained, "Surely, teaching you how to wield it is far more valuable than the reason for your obsession."
Weiss didn't say or done anything at first, but she decided she had no choice. Weiss walked up to her bed and pulled out from underneath her bed, a book. She walked back and handed the book to Asarirn.
Asarirn stared at the book in hand. The title read: The Man With The Blade. Asarirn opened the book and began to skim through the pages as he flipped through them. Asarirn closed the book, once he was done. He handed the book back without saying anything.
"You're not going to say anything?" Weiss questioned, sounded a bit confuse.
"Why?" Asarirn asked as he walked towards his bed.
"Because it was a childish dream."
"Nothing is a childish dream," Asarirn explained, "Dreams are something you want to come true, regardless of age."
"Wow, that's deep," Yang decided to say something.
Asarirn laid on his bed and stared into the ceiling.
"How come I was able to wield Ice Weaver now, but before I couldn't?" Weiss asked.
"I thought you were knowledgeable about these blades," Asarirn believed.
"I only know what they look like and what they can do."
Asarirn sat up from his bed and held out his hand. Ice Weaver appeared once more in his hand. "There are conditions that must be met before they can allowed you to wield them," Asarirn explained.
"They?" Blake questioned, "Who are you referring to?"
Asarirn paused for a moment, he caused Ice Weaver to disappear before explaining, "It's the will of the Mystical Blades."
"Wait," Yang sounded confuse, "So that one blade you had during your entrance exam-"
"Rockslide," Weiss said.
"Yes that one," Yang continued, "what are the conditions to wield that one?"
"You have to be far stronger than any average person," Asarirn explained. "You have to prove it to the blade that you are strong enough to wield it."
"That is why Ruby broke the blade when she tried to pick it up," Blake stated, Asarirn nodded in responds.
"So, you are saying Ruby is not that strong," Yang said, she had a big grin on her face as she stared at her sister.
"Hey, I am strong in my own way," Ruby said as she returned the stare with a glare.
"If you finish debating about the Mystical Blades for tonight, then I would like to go to sleep," Asarirn said as he laid back on his bed.
The girls realized the time had gotten late and they all need to sleep for classes tomorrow. Weiss didn't say anything as she walked up to her bed, standing close to Asarirn.
"Thank you," Asarirn heard Weiss' soft voice as she grabbed her sleepwear and walked away. Asarirn didn't say anything as he never meant to show Ice Weaver to Weiss in the first place. But if that would forge friendships, Asarirn would gladly accepted it.
Author's Note: I still can't figure out what consider a long or short chapter. For me, I find this chapter to be short but it has to be though. If you finds this chapter long, then I don't know what to say then. Right now, this is only confusing me. Anyway... I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
