The moon basked the headmaster's office in its moonlight. Asarirn sat in a chair in front of Ozpin's desk as Ozpin gazed upon him. Asarirn took a moment to realize that Glynda Goodwitch was not present in the room.
"What happened to Ms. Goodwitch?" Asarirn decided to ask.
"Currently, today is Professor Goodwitch day off," Ozpin explained, "So, she won't be joining us tonight."
Asarirn didn't say anything in responds to Ozpin's explanation. Asarirn simply stood up from his seat and headed for the windows. He pulled off his hood, revealing his face by the moonlight. Asarirn looked towards the stars in the sky.
Ozpin turned his chair to face towards Asarirn and looked at Asarirn with a concern look.
"Is there something a matter?" Ozpin asked.
"I would like to make a request."
"Ask away."
"I would like to see the files of my teammates," Asarirn asked without hesitation.
"You have any doubts for your team?"
Asarirn shook his head without saying anything. Ozpin simply turned to his desk before pulling a stack of files from one of the drawers. Ozpin placed the files on the desk without questioning it.
Asarirn picked up the files and began to read the contents. The first file on top of the stack was Ruby Rose's file.
"Ruby Rose," Asarirn read the information out loud. "She is two years younger than the rest of the first years, making her the youngest student in Beacon. Her partner is Weiss Schnee and the leader of Team RWBY. She was admitted by Headmaster Ozpin." Asarirn stopped and glanced at Ozpin, Ozpin replied with a smile.
"Her skills was better suited here than the student in her age group," Ozpin explained.
Asarirn could relate to Ruby to some degree. Asarirn is a skilled Weapon Master than any masters and also the leader of a secret organization.
Asarirn sighed to himself as he opened the next file: Weiss Schnee. "Weiss Schnee," Asarirn continued, "She is Ruby Rose's partner. She is considered a brilliant student with the grades to support it. Weiss is the heir to the Schnee Dust Company. Her father currently owns the company." Asarirn thought about it for a moment. "Just a typically rich girl."
"Yes, she was uncooperative with her partner at first, but then she learned its best to trust her partner and her team."
Asarirn thought about Weiss for a moment. How she dreamed of holding Ice Weaver in her hands. No matter what happened, she didn't gave up on her dream, like Asarirn didn't gave up on his.
Asarirn opened the next file, which was Blake's. "Blake Belladonna," Asarirn continued again. "Her origins are unknown when she first entered the school. However, she proved her skill during the entrance exam. Her current partner is Yang Xiao-Long." Asarirn closed her file. "So, basically Blake and I are on the same boat."
"Yes, both of your origins are unknown to everyone. Blake didn't have a history of attending a school before this one."
Asarirn didn't say anything as he opened the last file; Yang's file. "Yang Xiao-Long," Asarirn read the file. "Can't say much about her. Just, she was admitted like everyone and her partner is Blake Belladonna."
"Can't expect everyone to have something interesting."
Asarirn placed the files back on the desk before sitting back down. The look on Asarirn's face suggested he was in deep thought. Then, he looked at Ozpin as he was about to say something.
"What is the connection between the White Fang and Team RWBY?" Asarirn asked.
"Well I could only say they have been interfering with White Fang affairs." Asarirn pondered for a bit, but Ozpin continued, "Asarirn, you must listen, you can't involve the rest of your team in this matter. They just students."
"I'm a student also," Asarirn responded.
"Yes, considering even your grades are amongst the highest in our school. However, you were admitted to be a spy for us, despite my current situation."
"What happened?" Asarirn sounded concern.
"Well, there was a recent attack against this kingdom caused by the White Fang. Because of this, you could say I am not favored by the councilmen." Asarirn didn't say anything but shown concern. Ozpin decided to change topic. "Shall we began our tonight's discussion before its get late?" Asarirn gave a simple nod. "Great, so far it has been over one week since you started scouting for information. What can you tell me so far?"
Asarirn stood up from his seat and moved up to the desk. There was a map of Vale spread across the desk.
"During the last week, I found the robbery for Dust shipments are close to none. But the shipments for weapons are currently high."
"Weapons?"
Asarirn rolled up his sleeves, revealing his arm to Ozpin. There was a black marking all over his arm. The black markings disappeared as soon as a dark orb formed in his hand. Then, the dark orb transformed into a military rifle. Asarirn placed the rifle to allow Ozpin to inspect it.
"Based on the amount of weapons, they had collected," Asarirn continued, "they look like they are preparing for war."
"That is a huge assumption," Ozpin stated, "are you planning to scout tonight?"
"Yes," Asarirn said as he headed towards the table with his scouting gear.
Asarirn quickly took off his usual attire and placed them on the table. Asarirn put on both, the black robe and his equipment. Lastly, he grabbed the Grimm mask that laid on the table without putting it. Once he was done, he strolled back to Ozpin's desk.
"There have been rumors of White Fang's activity near the southern part of Vale," Asarirn pointed to the area on the map. "Hopefully, we can finally get a break on this."
"Very well," Ozpin agreed. "Ensure no one knows you are coming or leaving any traces of your presence."
"Yes, Sir," Asarirn bowed to Ozpin.
Ozpin watched as Asarirn started to head for the door. Asarirn placed the mask over his face as soon as he left the door. Ozpin turned his chair around and looked toward the sky. Hopefully, things go as planned.
-*RWBY*-
Blaze laid back against the couch while the rest; Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, Roman, and Neo sat around Blaze. For the last few hours, Blaze had told the group a story. The story, Blaze had told them, was the life of Asarirn Nightlyis. Once he was done, everyone looked at him with messed up looks.
"So that is the reason the name Nightlyis sounded so familiar," Cinder stated, "He is a Weapon Master."
"I couldn't care less about what he is," Roman said, "but what happened to this Asarirn guy during the last four years of his life."
"Right?" Mercury agreed with Roman, "Asarirn had a pretty messed up life."
Emerald looked at Blaze with a suspicious look. "Why did you decide to tell us about this guy's history?" Emerald asked, even everyone looked at him for the same answer.
Blaze let out a sigh as he knew this was coming. "Ever since Shadow's appearance last week, I felt I should tell you this stuff to gain your guys' trust."
"But," Cinder began to talk, "you didn't tell us the reason why he is here in this world or the connection between you and him."
"The reason for Asarirn being in this world, well you could say he had some trust issue with someone."
"And your connection to him?"
"I'm simply an old friend of his."
Everyone sat in their seats in silence, in order to soak in what they had learned about Asarirn Nightlyis. After a minute, Cinder made an evil grin on her face. Everyone could only assume she had a plan.
"Now," Cinder began to talk, "since we have the information about Asarirn Nightlyis, we could use this to our advantage."
"How so?" Mercury asked.
"Simple," Cinder sounded that things are easy. "He can't be a nuisance if his mind is easily broken."
Before Cinder could explain further about her plan, a large red axe chopped into the table in the middle. Everyone followed the hand that grasped around the handle, to find it to be Blaze's hand. Blaze had a look on his face, told everyone you should not mess with him. As for Cinder, she was unaffected by Blaze's action.
"Who said about broking his mind?" Blaze said as he pulled the axe from the table.
"You can't intimate us with your Mystical Blade."
Blaze widen his eyes for a split second. "How did you know? I didn't tell you about it"
Cinder stood up from her seat and approached Blaze. "You think we were that stupid enough to not figure it out."
"Listen," Blaze sounded demanding, "There are two things that are wrong with your plan." The large red axe disappeared into ashes. "One, the deal was for no one can engage Asarirn except for me. And two, you never want to break Asarirn's mind."
"Why can't you break his mind?"
Blaze turned around and headed for the door. He stopped at the door to give one more answer. "If you ever break Asarirn's mind, Shadow is going to be the least of your worries." Cinder glared at Blaze. "Well, I have stuff to do," Blaze said as he headed out the door.
Cinder walked back to her seat. She didn't say anything as she sat down.
"So, what are we going to do?" Mercury asked.
"What does the report say?" Cinder asked.
"There have been reports of a black figure has been spotted, spying on our bases," Emerald began to read off the report. "But, every time we tried to engage the enemy, he would always retreat without a fight."
"Based on what Blaze said," Roman began to explain, "It most likely it's that Asarirn kid."
"It is highly probable."
"Great," Roman sounded upset. "Not only we have to deal with that Shadow guy, but now we have to deal with another brat."
After giving some much thought, Cinder smiled and looked at Mercury. The way Cinder smiled, told everyone she have a plan.
"Mercury."
"Yes?"
"It's highly likely that the Weapon Master is going to spy on us again, you know what you need to do."
Mercury made a grin as he stood up from his seat. Roman, also, stood up from his seat.
"Whoa, hold on," Roman stopped Mercury. "Didn't Blaze say not to attack him?"
"We are wasting time as it is, Roman," Cinder explained in an irritated tone, "Blaze has been wasting time lounging around. We have no choice but to take matters into our hands."
"You know Blaze is going to be angry when he finds out about this."
Cinder smiled as she slowly approached Roman. "That is why he's not going to find out. Do I make myself clear?"
Roman slightly scowled as he made his way back to his seat. Cinder turned her attention back to Mercury.
"You know what needs to be done," she continued.
"Don't worry, he's just a kid like the rest of them. This should be a piece of cake."
"Don't take his skills lightly. Despite his age, the Nightlyis Weapons Master are considered the most powerful and dangerous Weapons Master out there. Don't forget that."
"I will keep that in mind," Mercury responded as he started to head for the door.
Everyone in the room watched Mercury left the room, debating whether or not Mercury is going to get himself kill.
-*RWBY*-
Mercury sat at one of the rooftop, waiting patiently for his prey to appear. Mercury's outfit was different than his usual gear. His clothes were entirely black. He wore a black ninja-like mask to cover his face. There were two long knives attached to each side of his greaves.
"Man, how long do I have to wait for that kid to show up," Mercury had started to grow bored of waiting.
After a bit, Mercury noticed a dark figure moving along the rooftops. Mercury focused on the moving figure and noticed the figure had only a black robe and a Grimm mask. He stood up as he readied himself for the upcoming encounter.
"Well that was easy enough."
Mercury slowly began to walk towards the edge of the building before running full speed. As he came close to the edge, Mercury launched himself off the rooftop into the sky, proceeding to follow Asarirn Nightlyis.
-*RWBY*-
Mercury has been following Asarirn for the last half an hour or so, trying to find the best way to engage his target. Over time, he has been slowly closing the distance between the two, despite having to make sure Mercury wasn't seen by Asarirn. Once Mercury believed he was closed enough, he made his move.
As Asarirn jumped for the next building, Mercury shot himself up into the air, without Asarirn even noticing. As he was descending down, Mercury brought out his leg and aimed down at Asarirn.
Asarirn stopped as soon as he landed on the next building. Without looking back, Asarirn moved his right hand towards his back, like he was reaching for an invisible weapon. Within seconds, the Mystical Blade, Ice Weaver, appeared across Asarirn's back.
Mercury landed the kick onto the flat part of the weapon, yet Asarirn held his stance. Asarirn quickly swung out his blade as Mercury kicked himself off the weapon. Mercury jumped back a few feet to keep his distance. Asarirn simply turned to face his attacker.
"So, you're the one who has been following me for a while now," Asarirn greeted the enemy.
Mercury reached for something on his neck before speaking, "Well, I didn't expect you to defect me so easily, Asarirn Nightlyis," Mercury spoke in a distorted voice.
Asarirn froze as soon as he heard his true name. Not only he had to deal with an enemy that knows his name, but have to deal with the fact that he won't be able to recognize the enemy's voice later on. That doesn't mean he's going to let his enemy escape. Asarirn held up his weapon at his foe.
"I guess I will take on the skills of the infamous Weapons Master," Mercury remarked. He crouched low to reach for his two long knives in his Greaves. Mercury held up the knives, back-handed style, challenging the Weapons Master.
Asarirn began to charge at Mercury. As Asarirn came close to his target, Asarirn vanished and reappeared behind Mercury as he swung his blade. Mercury didn't realized until the last second before ducking, barely missing the attack. Mercury quickly back kicked at Asarirn, but Asarirn caught the kick and vaulted into the air. Asarirn spun his body around, spinning with the blade, as he descended down on Mercury. Mercury quickly dashed to the side to avoid the attack.
As soon as Asarirn landed from the attack, Mercury charged at Asarirn for a counterattack. Mercury performed quick swings from the knives with combination with some kicks in hope to inflict some damage. However, Asarirn managed to parry the incoming attacks. Mercury ended the assault by swinging his leg to knock the blade away to create an opening. Once he managed to knock the blade away, Mercury rushed in and swung in with his knee. Asarirn didn't had enough time to move his blade back, so he forced himself to block with arm. Asarirn made a quick counterattack by slashing at him, forcing Mercury to back off by jumping back a few feet.
Asarirn dashed in to prevent Mercury to recover. Asarirn grasped the handle with both hands and swung his blade horizontally at Mercury. Mercury held up both of his knives to block the attack. The blades locked together, sparks flew on impact, as they tried to overpower each other.
"Why do you do those things, you do now?" Mercury strike the question.
"Well isn't it obvious?" Asarirn pushed against his blade, "It's to get rid of people like you."
"Are you sure about that?"
"What are you talking about?"
Ice Weaver transformed into a scythe, with the blade curve around Mercury from behind, as they both continued to struggle. Asarirn pulled the handle in order to catch him off guard for the next attack. Mercury flipped over the blade of the scythe as the scythe passed underneath him. Asarirn quickly spun the scythe around in hope to slice at Mercury, who in the air. But, Mercury kicked off from the attack to a safe distance.
Asarirn spun the scythe once more before charging at his enemy. Asarirn held back the scythe as he was prepared to end this.
"Are you sure you are not doing this to atone for what you did to your brother?" Mercury managed to say at the charging Asarirn.
Asarirn stopped dead in his tracks as soon as he heard those words. Mercury saw this as a perfect opportunity to strike. Mercury rushed in and hopped into the air. Mercury spun his body around before swinging his leg at Asarirn. Asarirn didn't realized anything until he felt an impact at his face. The force of the kick knocked Asarirn back quite a distance. Asarirn crashed onto the ground, dropping his weapon in the process, Asarirn quickly snapped back into reality.
Asarirn slowly stood back to his feet. Asarirn held out his hand to the scythe on the ground. The scythe moved and spun itself back into Asarirn's hand.
"Where did you hear that?" Asarirn hoped he could get an answer.
"You could say Blaze was saying a lot of things about you," Mercury had a cocky attitude as he believed he had the upper hand. "How's your sister lately?"
Asarirn gripped the handle of the scythe tightly in anger. "You'll pay for this."
Ice Weaver transformed back into its normal blade form. However, Asarirn didn't planned to use that weapon any longer, so he caused it to vanish into snow.
Asarirn held out his left hand, a katana appeared in his hand. The katana had a purple and black handle design, with a piece of cloth attached to the end of the handle. Asarirn, then, placed his pointer and middle fingers on the flat part of the blade before running his fingers across it. The katana began to glow in a bright purple color.
"The wind become my blade,
The blade sings in the wind
Reveal your true form: Breeze!"
A powerful wind brewed up around Asarirn as the weapon changed it shape. The wind subdued, leaving Asarirn with the new weapon. Asarirn had an extended version of the katana, however, the blade of the katana extended out to six feet in length. Asarirn held out the katana with one hand without putting any effort.
"It said a lot when guys have long swords," Mercury commented.
Asarirn vanished from sight once more. Out of habit, Mercury rolled forward as the long blade sliced overhead. Mercury quickly turned around and held up his knives. "Crap, he's faster than before." Mercury realized this was going to be a problem for him.
-*RWBY*-
Blaze landed on a rooftop, not far from the battlefield, as he was heading for a particular direction. Blaze jumped onto the next building and then stopped. Blaze turned towards the direction with the magical presence.
"That's Asarirn's presence over there," Blaze determined who it was, "but he's fighting someone who doesn't have a magical presence." It only took Blaze a couple of seconds to realize who it was.
"Don't tell me…" By that thought made Blaze furiously.
Blaze turned to a different direction as he felt a nearby magical presence.
"She's nearby, I hope she can help me."
Blaze dashed and jumped for the nearby magical presence.
-*RWBY*-
Mercury tried to deflect all of the attack from the long katana. It wasn't long until Mercury determined Asarirn's weakness. Mercury believed Asarirn can't fully swing the blade as long Mercury stopped it short by blocking it.
After a bit, Mercury made his move. The next attack from Asarirn's blade was block by Mercury's knives. Next, Mercury ran down towards Asarirn with his knives as he held back the long katana.
As Mercury came close to Asarirn, Mercury strike out with his leg at Asarirn. Asarirn disappeared from sight and reappeared quite a ways way. Mercury slowly faced his opponent once more.
"You can't win against me, just like your past failures," Mercury insulted.
Asarirn didn't made any retaliation as he continued to stand there. But instead, Asarirn grasped the handle with both hand as he held the blade over his head.
"Wind Style: Infinite Strike!" Asarirn called out as he slashed down with the long katana.
Mercury felt a powerful gust of wind pushed against his body. After a moment, Mercury felt a cut on his shoulder. Because of this, Mercury now realized the purpose of this attack. Mercury held up his arms to cover his face for the incoming attack. Slash marks started to appear all over Mercury's body as the wind gusted.
Once after a bit, the wind subdued. Mercury fell onto his knees in defeat. Blood started to ooze out of his wounds. Mercury couldn't feel his body after a minute, he knew he was done for.
Asarirn slowly approached Mercury for the final kill. As Asarirn approached Mercury, Asarirn held up the long katana over his head once more. Asarirn slashed down with his blade for the kill.
However, Blaze suddenly appeared in front of Mercury to block the attack with Inferno. The two blades made contact. Even though Blaze blocked the attack, he received a slashed wound over his chest, which caused him intense pain. Blaze pushed back the katana with all his might to break free. Once he done that, he quickly swung his sword. Asarirn jumped back as a wave of fire shot out of the blade.
Before Asarirn could charge in, he stopped and turned around. Two jets of water shot out towards Asarirn. Asarirn swung out his long katana, causing the wind to knock out the first stream of water. Asarirn summoned Ice Weaver in his right hand and slashed at the water, turning it into ice. Asarirn smashed the ice with the long katana.
Blaze threw Mercury over his shoulder in attempt to rescue him. Blaze quickly held up Inferno into the air before surrounding himself in a fire tornado.
Asarirn realized what Blaze was planning and planned to intervene. Asarirn quickly turned around as he swung the long katana at the fire tornado. Asarirn managed to slice through the fire, causing the fire to vanish. However, both Mercury and Blaze was nowhere to be found. Even Asarirn turned toward the source of the water attack. Again, nothing.
The long katana transformed back into the normal katana before both Mystical Blades disappeared; Ice Weaver vanished into snow and Breeze vanished into thin air.
Asarirn pulled off his hood and took off the mask to reveal his face into the night. Asarirn's eyes glowed red. Asarirn took in everything that had happened before sighing.
"I let my anger gets the best of me," Asarirn said to himself as he eyes shifted back to normal.
Asarirn reached into his sleeves and pulled out his scroll. He quickly made a phone call.
"Ozpin it's me. I have been compromised."
"Asarirn, what happened?"
"I was attacked before reaching the destination."
"Return to my office at once."
"Understood."
Asarirn ended the call and placed the scroll back into his sleeve. Asarirn placed the mask over his face and pulled up the hood once more. Once he was done, Asarirn vanished into black smoke.
-*RWBY*-
Cinder sat patiently in her seat, waiting for Mercury to return. While for Roman, Neo, and Emerald gone by with their business.
Blaze sudden appeared in front of the table and tossed Mercury's body onto the table. Everyone looked at Blaze with a surprised look on their face.
"WE NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION NOW!" Emerald called out for help.
Two White Fang grunts quickly rushed into the room with a medical bed. They ran to Mercury and placed him on the bed. One of the grunts noticed the wound on Blaze's chest and was about to comment on it.
"I don't need treatment," Blaze told the grunt.
Everyone watched the grunts and Mercury departed for treatment. Cinder turned to Blaze with an anger look on her face.
"Have you done this to Mercury?" Cinder interrogated.
"I didn't, Asarirn have done this," Blaze sounded irritated, "I specifically told every one of you to not chase after my target."
"Wait," Roman stopped Blaze, "What were you doing?"
Blaze sighed in anger before speaking, "I was about to ambush Asarirn at a certain place, hopefully catching him off guard. That is the reason I planned during the last week, leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for him to fall for my trap. But of course, someone intercepted him before reaching his destination. If my sister didn't help me, then Mercury would be dead."
"Your sister?"
"My, Blaze, I didn't expect you to live here," everyone heard a woman's voice from the hallway. Blaze bared his teeth in respond to the voice.
A beautiful woman with a light blue sparkly elegant dress entered the room. The woman had long white hair with crystal blue eyes. She would swing her hips back and forth as she walked to show off her perfect body.
"You're pretty bold for you to not wear your robe, Aqua," Blaze commented.
"I could say the same thing to you, Blaze," Aqua smiled at Blaze.
"What is she doing here, Blaze?" Cinder questioned.
"I'm just here for my payment," Aqua looked at Blaze, "That is all."
Blaze reached into his pocket and produced a small red crystal from it. Blaze tossed the crystal to Aqua and she caught it eagerly.
"Thank you," she said. "For all your effort to give me this, I will heal your wound."
Aqua produced some water on her hand before she placed her hand on Blaze's chest. The water spread across Blaze's chest. After a moment, the wound closed completely. Aqua smiled at Blaze before she proceed to head for the exit.
"I don't understand why you need that, you can't even use it," Blaze stated.
Aqua stopped without looking back. "You could say, I wanted to even the playing field."
"Why?" Blaze sounded confuse, "Out of all of us except for Shadow, you are the strongest one."
"Compare to you and me, we both are equally as strong since you use shadow magic."
Before Blaze could say anything, Aqua turned herself into water and vaporized into the thin air.
Blaze sighed in frustration as he took his seat on the couch. Everyone looked at him, but didn't say anything since they all messed up Blaze's plan.
"So, what are you planning to do now?" Roman decided to ask.
Blaze didn't say anything at first, but decided to answer the question. "I don't know what to say now," Blaze wasn't sure, "I spent all this time planning to ambush Asarirn, even I was forced to push everything ahead of schedule."
"Can't you try again?"
"Can't say for sure," Blaze continued to be unsure, "I don't know if he is that stupid enough to try again or he's going to be on the offensive, considering Mercury pissed Asarirn off enough that he used the true form of the Mystical Blade: Breeze."
"What do you mean?" Cinder asked.
Blaze gave Cinder the cold stare, yet answered, "Asarirn usually had a history of showing his enemies mercy, so he could interrogate them. But not in that fight," Blaze paused for a bit, "Asarirn had the intention of killing Mercury without mercy."
Everyone was surprised when they heard that.
"If anything, Neo and I have your back," Roman promised.
Blaze stood up from his seat, like he had the intentions of leaving. "Well, I want to deal with it later, it's been a long day." Blaze walked for the door, but stopped at the exit. He didn't look back as he began to talk, "You know Cinder, what you did took a huge step back on my trust for you." Everyone stared at Cinder while she gazed at Blaze. "However," Blaze continued, "I will let this slide, on the account you didn't know what Asarirn was capable of and not telling you my plan. Just don't let this happen again."
Blaze ended the conversation by leaving the room without saying another word.
Everyone else haven't said anything for a bit. After a bit of awkward silence, Cinder decided to leave the room herself, to rethink her next course of action. Emerald accompanied her as she believed she could provide some help. Now leaving only Roman and Neo in the room by themselves.
Roman looked at Neo with a confuse look. "Now what?" Roman asked Neo.
She only shrugged in responds, not knowing what to do next.
-*RWBY*-
Asarirn kneeled before Ozpin in the headmaster's office. Asarirn still had the black robe on, but had the mask laid on the floor next to him.
Ozpin smiled from his desk as he found Asarirn rather amusing. He simply took a sip from his mug as he continued to smile at Asarirn.
"I have failed you, Ozpin," Asarirn finally spoke.
"As long as you are safe, that's what matters now," Ozpin replied. "Now, please stand." Asarirn stood up from the ground as he continued to stare at Ozpin. "Now tell me what happened," Ozpin asked.
"As I told you before," Asarirn walked to the table with his things and began to change, "I was attacked before reaching my destination."
"By who?"
"A mask man with a distorted voice," Asarirn finished putting his black coat on but kept the hood down. "I also believed my identity has been exposed," Asarirn continued.
"What happened?"
"I engaged the masked man in retaliation. During the middle of the fight, he started to reveal stuff of my past to catch my off guard."
"Then what?"
"I managed to defeat the masked man. But then, Blaze suddenly appeared to retrieve the masked man to take him out of harm's way."
Ozpin took a moment to take in everything, Asarirn had told him, before speaking, "There is a strong chance that the masked man is working with Blaze and the White Fang."
"Yes," Asarirn agreed as he strolled pass Ozpin to the windows. Asarirn folded his arms together and leaned against the wall next to the windows. Asarirn simply looked out of the window without saying anything.
Ozpin turned his chair to face Asarirn.
"For the safety of yourself and the rest of us, I think it's best for all of us if you take a break from missions."
Asarirn didn't respond to Ozpin's plan, but continued to stare out of the window into the sky. Ozpin raised an eyebrow as he found it strange for Asarirn to remain quiet.
"I would like to request for me to continue to venture out during the night, but without the intention to spy," Asarirn finally spoke.
"Any reason?" as Ozpin shown some interest.
Asarirn didn't say anything as he continued to stare out the window. He was more interested in the stars in sky than anything. The stars would glistered brightly around the shattered moon.
"I prefer the night," Asarirn said quietly.
Ozpin looked at Asarirn curiously by his responds. "Very well," he agreed.
The two remained quiet for a minute. Asarirn continued to stare at the stars while Ozpin continued to stare at Asarirn.
"I don't want to sound like you are a burden to us," Ozpin broke the silence, "you are from another world."
"Yes."
"When do you think you will be returning to your world?"
Asarirn took a moment to think about it, but sighed by the result of it. "Even I don't know the answer to that question."
"I see."
"Why the sudden interest?"
Ozpin smiled to Asarirn before giving a responds, "Your grades are one of the top marks in your year and shown excellent performance in combat."
"What about it?"
"I kind of hoped you were to continue to attend this school, once everything had settle. You could be one of the best students in this generation."
"Ozpin, we both know that can't be possible as the way things are. The fact that I am a Weapons Master could prove a problem to all."
"Yes, your skills and experience proved you are a far better fighter than most Huntsmen. Makes me wonder about you."
Asarirn didn't say anything as he continued to stare at the sky.
"Are you alone without a family?" Ozpin had the guts to ask.
Asarirn turned his head to face Ozpin while he gave Ozpin a cold stare. "No," was Asarirn's responds.
"When was the last time you seen your parents?" Ozpin knew he was crossing the line.
Asarirn didn't say anything but turned to face Ozpin. "It's been over four years since I last seen or talked to my parents."
Ozpin turned his chair to face the desk. He smiled as he was satisfied to feel Asarirn opened up to him. But, he still had a question in mind but chose not to ask.
"It started to get pretty late," Ozpin stated. "I think its best you get back before you team noticed you gone."
"Very well," Asarirn said as he pulled up his hood. Asarirn walked for the exit, but stopped at the door. "To answer the question in your mind; it's not like I didn't have a chance to go home, but more like I don't have a way back home.
Asarirn ended the conversation by leaving the room without saying more. Ozpin was surprised for Asarirn to know the question in his head. Ozpin stood up from his seat and walked toward the windows. He simply stared out to the sky with the stars, the way Asarirn did before. The one thing he found concerning, after hearing all that, was Asarirn's health.
A/N: Sorry that I haven't upload anything last week, there are three reasons why. One: I had a cold during the last week. Two: The chapter was rather long for me minus the cold. And Three: it wasn't the fact that the whole Washington State was on fire for a while (That's where I live). At least I hoped everyone enjoyed the chapter.
