Greetings, dear readers, and welcome back to Bayley's Universe. *lets out a low whistle* Whoa, seems like things got almost explosive between Sasha and Shayna. And then Shayna suggested they go somewhere else to have their chat? *nervously bites my nails a bit* Oh no, this may not be good. How will this all go? Read on to find out, my dolls, and I hope you all enjoy this chapter. =)
(Just as a heads-up: There will be slight profanity in this chapter. I just wanted to give you all a heads-up before you read it.)
Turning back to look at the brunette, Sasha said "You know? I think maybe Mia can wait a bit. How's about me and you take a walk and talk about things?"
A slight smirk starting to tug at the corners of her mouth, Shayna said "Good idea, new kid. And I know just the place we can have our little chat."
"By all means. Lead the way," Sasha gestured.
"Gladly," the brunette said as she stood from her seat.
Watching as the brunette began to walk around to the area behind the school, Sasha didn't know what to expect. But, she made sure to stay on her guard. 'This could be some kind of trap. Best to be aware of whatever it is that this human has in mind for me here,' the magenta-haired Gem thought as they then made their way into a wooded area that sat on the edge of the school's overall property. Curious about just why they were heading this way, Sasha asked "So, is there anything in particular out here you want to show me, Shayna? School will be over soon, and I don't want my cousin or my friends to worry about me."
"Easy now, Sasha. Relax. I just wanted to help show you around the area. Is that so wrong?" the brunette asked, surprisingly innocently.
"N-no, I guess it isn't," Sasha responded. Looking around herself, all the magenta-haired teen could really see was many trees, some with full branches and others having slightly noticeable limb and leaf loss. Her gaze going to the brunette, Sasha said "Well. This area is nice, Shayna. I'll be sure to come back and visit it again myself in the future. Now, if you'll excuse me, I really should be going no-"
"Not so fast!" Shayna interrupted the younger teen. Turning to look at her underclassman, the brunette stepped forward before asking "Just what the hell is your deal?"
"My deal? What do you mean by that, Shayna?" Sasha asked, starting to feel confused.
"You know? When you caught my punch last week. No one's ever done that before."
"What can I say? I guess I have good reflexes," the magenta-haired teen shrugged.
"And the second. How do you explain all of that?" Shayna asked, waiting on the girl's answer.
"Again, good reflexes I guess," Sasha responded.
A scoff escaping her, all Shayna could say was "Oh yeah? Well try dodging this!" before she quickly struck out at the younger teen.
Seeing the incoming strike, Sasha braced herself like with their encounter last week. But, what she wasn't quite expecting was the speed with which her upperclassmen struck out. Catching her fist, Sasha couldn't help but wince a bit at the pain she felt from her hand. Not wanting to back down from this, Sasha said "Impressive. I didn't know you were this strong, Shayna."
"What can I say? I guess I've had a lot of time to work on my punches. Just like with THIS!" Shayna shouted before bringing her now curled other hand up and punching Sasha in the stomach, something that picked the younger teen up from the ground a bit.
She wasn't expecting this. Sasha had a feeling that maybe this human had a good bit of strength. …She just didn't think it'd be anything like this. Falling to her knees as she coughed from the impact, all Sasha could do was listen to the sound of crunching leaves before she heard the brunette let out a scoff of a laugh and said "Guess your reflexes couldn't help you out there." Turning to look at the brunette as she tried to stand up, her jaw almost dropped in disbelief at what she was now seeing: Covering Shayna's left fist and upper arm was a gauntlet almost like the ones that Roman could summon and use. Finally managing to find her words, Sasha asked "Y-You're a Crystal Gem?"
…
Pacing around at the front of the school, Lana couldn't help the annoyed sigh that escaped her.
"Where is she? Doesn't Shayna know school's out for the day now?"
"Relax, Lan, don't get too wound up there. I'm sure Shayna knows. Hell, she probably just decided to take off early since she doesn't have a last class of the day. Lucky," the taller girl said.
"Yeah, I guess you can't be wrong about tha-"
"Lana, wait! Do you feel that?" Nia interrupted the blonde.
Lana didn't know what the taller girl was getting at until she felt it herself. "Behind the school! Oh no. You don't think Shayna's gone and got into a fight with someone, do you?"
"Feeling like this? Who could she have gotten into a fight with throwing off energy like this?"
"I don't know, Nia," Lana said, starting to feel worried. "We have to find her. Maybe she's in some kind of trouble."
"Right. Who knows who or what she could be dealing with?" Nia said.
Not wanting to dwell on thinking about this, Lana fell into step with the brunette as they took off in search of their friend.
…
Pacing around in front of the library, Mia was starting to feel a bit worried.
'Where is she? Sasha did say she was going to look around for something in the library before her lesson today. Maybe she left already? I hope she's okay,' the blue-haired teen thought.
"Hey, Mia!" the blue-haired teen heard coming from behind her. Turning around, she saw that it was just Bayley coming to meet up with her. "Oh, hey, Bayley. Didn't think you'd still be here after the bell. Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I was just looking around for Sasha so we could head home together. Why are you still here? Have to talk to one of your teachers about something?"
"No, I was actually waiting for Sasha for her Korean lesson, but she never showed up. Maybe she left already, I'm not sure."
"Huh. That's weird and doesn't sound like Sash at all. She sounded pretty eager to let you hear how she did over the weekend. Which was pretty good, if I can say so."
"I wouldn't doubt it," Mia said as she pushed open the doors that led outdoors. "I just wonder why she would've left so early though."
"Not sure really. Although, she did seem pretty upset about what happened during lunch. Which reminds me! How are you feeling now, Mia? You're not still hurting now, are you?"
Hearing the brunette mention that made Mia flinch a bit. Swallowing a bit, she almost opened her mouth to say something when two sets of footsteps heading her and Bayley's way caught her off-guard a bit. Turning to see who it was she saw that it was just Lana and Nia. Although, …the pair seemed almost worried about something. She wanted to say something, but before she could, a crashing sound caught her attention. Looking in the direction of the noise, her gaze was soon on the tree boundary at the edge of the school's property. Before she could say anything, she vaguely heard the older teens say something and then saw them run off in the direction of the crash. Looking over to Bayley, the blue-haired once again wanted to say something had it not been for the ponytailed brunette saying "Mia, stay here, OK? I need to go see what that is" before taking off in the same direction Lana and Nia went. She knew she should've listened to what Bayley said, …but she soon found herself following after the brunette yelling "Bayley, wait!" Doing her best to keep up with the brunette, the blue-haired teen soon found herself seeing-
"Holy crap!" Mia couldn't help but shout at what she was seeing.
*holds up a STOP sign* OK now! Whoa. Looks like things got pretty crazy here. It looks like Shayna had a pretty surprising reason as to why she had somewhere to take Sasha. She's actually a Crystal Gem warrior herself! *GASP!* *insert shocked and surprised emojis here* Holy moly that's quite a surprise, one that Sasha didn't see coming at all. And it would appear as though Shayna doing this has drawn the attention of three of her fairly observant classmates, along with Mia, who is sounding pretty surprised by ...something. And just what could that something be? That shall be revealed ...next time. Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, warm, and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
