Altair knew that after his fight with Rias the chances of her brother coming to him were high, but he didn't expect him to come this quickly. And he had to say, if this was before he summoned his two handmaidens he would be a little afraid, but now, he felt like he didn't have to worry so much about this overprotective brother of Rias.
''Once he knows about my person, then it's likely that those more influential in the underworld already know too.'' Even with these thoughts, he continued to focus his attention on these two 'visitors' who were also watching him intently.
''You must be Altair, I-'' The red-haired man could not finish his sentence, because he felt a blade aimed at his throat, and any step or speech he made, that blade would pierce his throat killing him in the process.
''What?'' The redhead thought a little startled by this reception.
''Sirzechs!'' The maid next to him exclaimed worriedly and just as she was about to make a move she felt another blade on her neck.
''Where do you think you are going?'' Jeanne spoke as she pressed a black sword with well detailed red ornaments into Grayfia's neck.
The sword that Jeanne was using was La Pucelle. Which by the way is a sword she is very fond of using.
''Speak up, who are you, how did you get in here and what do you want!'' Artoria demanded pointing her Excalibur Morgan at Sirzechs neck.
''V- We came here to talk to Altair Lockheart.'' Sirzechs spoke with a strange tone as he was feeling a burning sensation in the region of his neck.
"A sacred sword? But I can't feel anything sacred about it, so how...'' He thought perplexedly trying to analyze the black sword that Artoria was holding.
These two girls were not in the information his sister had given him.
''Alter, Avenger, you can drop them...'' Altair said calmly as he sat down in the armchair that was next to him.
This sight shocked Sirzechs and Grayfia, because they saw the young man in front of them grabbing a glass of wine as he watched them while sitting in an armchair comfortably.
Sirzechs who saw this felt that Altair was toying with him, after all these days Altair looked more like a mob boss than anything else.
Artoria and Jeanne despite having doubts about this decision by Altair just nodded as they loosened their grip on their sword and walked away. But even though the two had obeyed Altair's order they were still ready to attack at any moment.
The newcomers' eyes widened at this as the two girls did so in such an obedient manner.
''So, start talking...'' As he said this, Altair took a light sip of the wine he had in his hand, and he had to say. This wine was horrible.
"Holy shit, who made such a bad wine? But he didn't let this show to his visitors, so he continued to keep a serious and ethereal expression.
The two devils hearing Altair's commanding tone frowned a bit, but after some thought they ended up ignoring this way of speaking from Altair.
And the reason Sirzechs didn't complain about Altair's attitude was that he felt that these two girls were too dangerous, he felt that he could fight one of them on equal terms, but if he had to face both of them at the same time...
He had no guarantee of victory.
My name is Sirzechs Lucifer and this is my wife Grayfia Lucifuge. He said in a quiet manner as he introduced himself.
''It's a pleasure to meet you.'' Grayfia said bowing.
Altair just nodded and spared his own introduction, after all, they already had information about him, so what was the point of introducing himself.
''As for how we are here, we use a magic teleportation circle.'' Sirzechs said earning the confused looks of the two girls.
But when they looked at Altair for an explanation.
''I'll explain everything later.'' Altair communicated with both girls mentally.
They just nodded and continued in silence, waiting for this story to unfold.
Altair, after communicating mentally with the girls, turned his attention completely to Sirzechs, after all, even if he knew they were coming he would still like to know why. Revenge? Asking him to become Rias's servant? Threaten him? There are many possibilities.
''So... what did you come here for?'' Altair asked quietly.
Sirzechs did not answer Altair's question but rather decided to ask a question on top of it. ''We would like to know who are you? No... Who are you?'' Sirzechs was curious but at the same time suspicious.
He as a Maou would not want to have a battle with these people, but rather wanted to resolve any misunderstanding there was.
Altair who knows Sirzechs knows that despite being the Maou, he still has a gentle personality, his only flaw being that he is extremely overprotective of Rias, and any matter involving his sister he always alters or tries to get involved.
"As you may already know, I am Altair Lockheart, and these two are Alter and Avenger. He said introducing himself and also introducing the two girls, but not without withholding their real names.
After all, all caution is good.
Sirzechs realized that the names Altair had given the two girls were false, but he chose not to say anything.
''He is cautious, he doesn't entirely trust me, well, that was to be expected.'' Sirzechs thought, as he let out a light sigh.
Sirzechs knew that Altair didn't have a good impression of the devils thanks to his sister, and even though he pampered his sister a lot, he still had to tell her the mistakes she had made.
Because of Rias, the devils lost a potential human ally who could make relations with humans much easier, plus, an alliance with Altair would be beneficial to the devils because they would have a greater power of persuasion when it came to negotiating a peace treaty.
''So... What do you want in our territory, could you tell me?'' Sirzechs asked another question, still maintaining his polite tone.
Altair feigned a thoughtful expression, and that only made Sirzechs and Grayfia shake their heads in displeasure.
After taking another sip of this lousy wine, he began to speak.
''To tell you the truth, I'd just like to live quietly while I get stronger.'' Saying this, he leaned further back in the armchair he was sitting in, waiting to see Sirzechs reaction.
''Huh?'' That was the only word that came out of Sirzechs and Grayfia's mouth.
Altair seeing that they were confused, said nothing, and just waited for them to continue talking.
''I believe this is going to be impossible.'' Sirzechs said in a dull manner.
''Hm?'' Altair narrowed his eyes upon hearing Sirzechs' words, because with the exception of his fight with Rias, he doesn't remember provoking the devils so there wasn't much reason for him to be kicked out of this territory.
Sirzechs seeing the doubts on Altair's face decided to explain so that there would be no more misunderstandings.
''You happen to have become somewhat famous because of your peculiar Sacred Gear, so I believe I don't need to continue saying the rest.'' Sirzechs said in a serious manner.
''Sacred Gear?'' Artoria inquired mentally.
''What's that?'' Jeanne inquired confused.
''Sometimes I forget that despite her personality, she is still a little too innocent.'' Altair thought as he let out a long sigh and prepared to explain.
''Well Avenger, he is saying that the devils will probably come after me, and I will only be left with two options, become a slave to a devil or be killed.'' Altair said in a relaxed way, as if he didn't care about the devils chasing him.
''Isn't he too calm?'' Grayfia thought mentally, after all anyone who was in that situation would be at least a little afraid of having an entire faction chasing him.
''Master, what the fuck have you gotten yourself into?'' Jeanne asked while showing a mocking smile.
This smile from Jeanne only made Altair sadder, because his peace that he thought he had achieved would probably end because of the persecution he would suffer from the devils.
''I think I'm going to cry.'' He said as anime tears flowed into his mind.
