Rey steps down into the basement corridor as BB-8 follows her. Walking carefully and confused, she is not sure why she's down here. She can hear the echoing sounds of a young girl crying. She heads down the hall... to the very end, where there is a door. It is almost as if a soulful vibration draws her closer. She looks at the door lock and the door opens for her.

Hesitant, Rey enters and stares to look around.

Rey moves into the dark, small, vaulted storage room. Old treasures line the floors and walls, but there is something specific Rey is drawn to: on a table, an old wooden box. She moves to it, unsure, afraid as if there was an energy from inside the box that has been calling her here.

BB-8 nervously follows and bleeps.

Rey reaches out, very slowly, to touch the box.

Rey opens the box and sees inside Luke Skywalker's original lightsaber. With hesitation, she reaches for it, but she cannot resist. As her hand makes contact with it, there is the piercing sound of a lightsaber igniting. She moves her hand away, as Rey hears a mechanical breathing sound.

The lights then suddenly change as Rey is now somewhere impossible: a hallway from deep inside Cloud City.

Disembodied voices fill the air.

"No!"

"It's energy...surrounds us..."

But Rey didn't know that the moment she touched the saber, something similar suddenly happened to Peter. He was just walking through the woods and looked around the woods when he was suddenly somewhere else entirely.

Peter started to look around the area and somehow found himself back at his old homestead. But it wasn't just any other day. He looked and noticed the First Order cruiser with his parents being shot.

"Combines us..."

Rey stands as she looks around, confused by all she sees and hears.

Rey runs down the corridor, but it all tilts and turns as she lands on the wall. The same wall has now turned into ground-dried grass.

She turns to look and sees a burning temple at night. R2-D2 watches the flames, and a man appears as he falls to his knees, reaches out to the droid with a mechanical right hand, and placed it on his head.

Peter ran and tried to escape whatever he was currently trapped in until he suddenly tripped and fell to the ground. When he slammed into what should have been muddy ground, he found himself on a steel walkway in what he assumed to be a Star Destroyer.

Then he heard the screams of pain from down the hall and saw a figure strapped to a chair. Feeling he knows those screams; he quickly raced towards the strapped person to try and help them. But then a Trooper came out of nowhere and punched him before he could even react.

Rey looked around as rain begins to pour and she sees a Jedi Padawan as he is stabbed by a fiery red Lightsaber! He screams and falls to the ground as Rey scurried on the battlefield. She gets to her feet, frightened by what she sees. Then she noticed that the man who killed him was Kylo Ren and he was followed by the other Knights of Ren, who flank him!

When Peter opened his eyes again, he found himself back on D'Qar. But things were completely different when he saw that there was a Star Destroyer on the planet's surface.

Then he looked up and saw a figure with a similar saber to Kylo as they stabbed a member of the Resistance. Peter quickly jumped to his feet and reached for his L8-SR when he remembered it was currently broken.

The figure turned to face him, and Peter looked in fear of who was underneath the hood. It was his sister.

Teresa snarled at Peter in anger as she marched over to him, her saber burning the ground as she approached him. Peter couldn't dare even fight his sister and just blocked the light with his hands as he didn't want to see what came next.

Come back around to Rey, soaking now, as the rain stops, and Sunlight illuminates her as she turns to look and see... A little girl. Rey as a child. She is sobbing, hysterical.

Unkar Plutt's meaty hand holds her thin arm. She is on Jakku, watching a starship fly into the sky, abandoning her.

"No! Come back!" Rey called out to the ship.

This was the day that her parents left her on Jakku.

"Quiet girl," Plutt demanded the young girl.

Peter then opened his eyes and saw the evil vision of his sister Then there was suddenly nothing but darkness in both of their visions and the skies turned red. Looking at where the light was coming from, they saw a giant beam spread across the skies.

Before either could take in what was happening, they looked to see they were in a nighttime, barren, snowy woods. They were both losing their mind, confounded and lost and she gets to her feet, her breath seen in the frigid air when she looked and saw Peter standing there. She moves through the woods, toward him as Peter mimicked the action to try and reach her. Rey runs, heart pounding, when Kylo Ren emerges from behind a tree! Rey stops and screams before she falls back and Peter races to try and help her.

But then whatever they were inside of broke out and they both returned to their respective reality. But sadly for Peter, that meant smacking and breaking a portion of a tree, and Rey to the castle. Peter rubbed his head and groaned before he started to look around and wonder how far he had gotten. Feeling something is wrong either with Rey or something close to them, he needed to go help them.

"These are their first steps..." A voice echoed through their heads.

Rey falls back, out of the room, suddenly sitting in the hall, out of breath, alarmed, and perplexed. She hears something coming and turns to see Maz standing at the end of the corridor, realizing what has just happened.

"What was that?" Rey asks as Maz reached for her. "I shouldn't have gone in there."

Maz was amazed at the spectacle she saw before her and knew there was something special about this girl. "That lightsaber was Luke's. And his father's before him and now, it calls to you!"

Rey quickly gets up and stands on her feet. Still overwhelmed, emotional, and speechless after what happened.

"I have to get back to Jakku," Rey stated.

Maz sighed as she was informed of her backstory and raised her glasses. "Han told me." She reaches out to hold Rey's hand as she got on her knees. "Dear child. I see your eyes. You already know the truth. Whomever you're waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But... there's someone who still could."

Rey seemed to understand what she was saying. "Luke."

"The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead. I am no Jedi, but I know the Force. It moves through and surrounds every living thing. Close your eyes. Feel it." Maz said as she did just that, closing her eyes as if she was feeling the Force herself. "The light. It's always been there. It will guide you. The saber. Take it."

Rey then quickly jumped to her feet, not wanting to go with that idea. "I am never touching that thing again! I don't want any part of this."

Maz tried to speak but Rey wasn't even letting her get a word out as she got to her feet and ran for the exit. Rey's mind is spinning, she can't take it she turns and heads off, fast as BB-8 follows her. Maz sighs, feeling sorry for the young girl.

Rey exits the castle, and needs to run but doesn't know where as she continues and heads toward the woods. But as she was heading out, Peter was just reaching the front steps trying to find her and BB-8.

Across the galaxy, A massive rally: a thousand stormtroopers, TIE fighters, Officers, and vehicles. Brutalist structures, mountainous snowy landscape. Addressing them at a podium, flanked by red First Order Banners, is General Hux.

"Today is the end of the Republic! The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder! At this very moment, in a system far from here the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the loathsome Resistance. This fierce machine that you have built, upon which we stand, will bring an end to the Senate! To their cherished fleet! All remaining systems will bow to the First Order! And will remember this... as the last day of the Republic!" Hux gives his speech to the entire army as the engineers perform the Final Firing Protocol. "Fire!"

And Hux turns to give the signal as a roar of boots on the pavement as a thousand Stormtroopers turn to face an endless snowy landscape. Like an atomic bomb test times a zillion blasts from miles away and into the sky!

Seconds later, a terrible explosive roar! The Troopers and everyone are nearly pushed back by the force of the magnitude! Many have to cover their eyes for miles around the fire beam, and ice and snow melt instantly! Airborne creatures by the thousands burst from trees and take flight. Hux watches, his eyes wild with power that it brought a tear to his eyes at the beauty of the destruction.

A crowd of aliens flies out from inside, all eyes on the fire in the sky. Dozens of languages exclaiming fear and horror. Find Han and Chewie moving out, looking up. Peter looked up at the beam in terror and recognized the weapon as the Starkiller that he and Teresa stole a while back. Spotting Han and Chewie, he ran over to the two so he can find them and get out.

"It was the First Order!" Peter explains as he ran over to them. "The Republic. They've targeted the Republic." But then terror struck Peter as he looked and noticed there was no sign of Rey. "Where's Rey?"

Rey races through the forest and finally comes to a stop, overwhelmed and exhausted. At an emotional breaking point, she has no idea where to go, or who to turn to. Then she hears a beep and turns to see BB-8 catching up with her.

"What are you doing?" Rey asks the droid.

BB-8 beeps in response.

Rey sighed and knew BB-8 couldn't stick around her. "You have to go back.

BB-8 beeps again.

"BB-8. No, you can't - you have to go back, you're too important. They'll help you." Rey promises him, knowing Peter would protect him.

Then, the two of them heard another sound and looked up: in front of the system attack, a fleet of First Order ships roar overhead, towards the castle! Rey's heart sinks: HER FRIENDS ARE IN DANGER!

Back in the castle, Maz leads Han, Peter, and Chewie down the hall. They made their way to the storage unit where Rey found the saber and raced over towards it.

"I've had this for ages..." Maz said as she showed opens the box before she grabs the weapon and turns to hold out the lightsaber to Peter. "Kept it locked away."

Han was shocked to see such an old relic from the past. "Where'd you get that?"

"A good question for another time," Maz stated as she walked closer and held the weapon to Peter. "Take it! Find your friend!"

Peter looked down at the weapon and grabs it. But the second he did, something strange happened to him. His mind was filled with all of those who once held and wielded this Saber.

"You were my brother, Anakin!"

"No!"

"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!"

"My powers have doubled since last we met."

Peter was shocked and filled with fear as he felt every emotion every wielder of this thing has gone through. He felt every strike, every blow, just about everything that this weapon has either gone through or done to another. Max was shocked as she saw this boy indeed held a connection to the Force. What kind of connection, she wasn't quite sure.

"This weapon has seen terrible things," Peter said in shock as the room is shaken by an above-ground attack.

"Those beasts." Maz snarled. "They're here!"
