Altair led Rei and Takashi down the ladder while in the process he killed a few zombies that appeared from time to time.
''Damn, that feeling is amazing!'' Altair thought. Every time he killed a zombie a feeling of pleasure coursed through his body. He knew this was due to True Longinus, but it was still incredible.
''Altair-san, is your family in Japan? Do you think they are okay?'' Rei asked.
Altair gave a smile at that question and said, ''Actually, they're in Europe, besides there's not much to worry about them since they know how to defend themselves...''
He didn't want to say much about his family, in fact, he didn't even have a family in this world, so it didn't matter much.
''Uh...'' Rei nodded and then asked Takashi. ''Takashi, what about you?''
''When things calm down a bit I'll make a call, besides my father is on a trip and my mother is a teacher so doubt she'll be able to take my call right now.'' Takashi said in a playful manner.
When they were on the terrace, Rei tried to call her father, but she was unsuccessful, and this made her a little worried about her family's situation.
Rei had a smile on her face when she saw that Takashi was joking in such a situation.
And as they were walking slowly, they heard a scream.
''AHH!''
Altair curled his lips and went to check who this scream was from, and when he arrived at the place where the scream was coming from, he spotted a pink haired girl piercing the head of a zombie, and next to her was a chubby boy.
So that's them...' Altair thought.
He also spotted, a girl with purple hair, as well as a blonde with breasts that could only be described as 'HUGE', Altair even doubted how gravity worked on those breasts.
Altair knew that the six main characters were now gathered together, which would be beneficial to him, especially when the protagonist was accompanying him, after all, he knew that the protagonist's 'plot armor' is very strong, even in a world like this.
The noise that the pink haired girl made, attracted a lot more zombies.
''Looks like it's time to take care of some nuisances...'' Altair muttered as he took the left side of the corridor, this side was the one with the most zombies.
''In that case, we'll take care of the right...'' The purple haired girl said with a strange smile on her face.
The True Longinus in Altair's hand swung a few times, causing most of the zombies to fall dead to the ground. He didn't even need to put in the effort to kill these weak zombies.
All he needed to do, was to swing the spear that the zombies would be cut down, of course, he also didn't forget to focus on the feeling he felt every time he killed a zombie.
Quickly all the zombies on the left side had been dealt with by Altair, and when he turned to look how the right side was doing, he realized that they too had finished and were now looking at him in disbelief.
These people saw how Altair had handled the zombies, and to them it was amazing, since it looked like Altair was cutting paper instead of bodies.
''Not bad...'' Altair commented as he looked at the purple haired girl with a smile on his face.
''My name is Altair Lockheart, a transfer student.'' Altair then extended his hand to greet the girl, but in return he only received a slight snort from the girl.
"Humph! Trying to flirt with me? But I have to admit you are strong, I am Saeko Busujima...'' The purple haired girl had a smile on her face as she began to speak, and soon after she introduced herself.
Altair did not answer Saeko with words, but rather with a playful smile, causing her to roll her eyes slightly.
''Tch!'' Saeko curled her lips and stopped paying attention to Altair.
''Saeko? I know you, if I'm not mistaken you've won many championships for the school. I am Rei Miyamoto.''
"I'm Takashi Komuro...
"I'm Kohta Hirano, but you can call me Kohta..." The fat man said, but soon he shook his head sadly as he realized that no one was paying attention to him.
"I'm the school nurse, Shizuka Marikawa..." The woman with the huge breasts said. Altair even saw her breasts sway when she spoke earlier.
''Since everyone is gathered, we should move...'' Altair said.
Everyone in the group agreed with his suggestion, except for the pink haired girl, who seemed to be a bit unfocused. But Altair decided not to pay too much attention to her.
''Shizuka-sensei knows how to drive, so we can get a car in the parking lot...''
''Yes, and after that we can try to find our families and then go somewhere safe...'' Takashi said.
Altair nodded at the suggestion, and then said, ''Since I have no relatives in Japan, I'll just follow you.''
The people in the group nodded, and then immediately went to find the car keys that the teachers kept in the teachers' room.
In the teachers' room, Altair saw some untouched snacks, so he decided to eat, while waiting for the others to be able to find some vehicle keys.
''Here take it.'' Saeko appeared behind him as she offered a can of Coke.
Altair took the can of cola and nodded, ''That's very nice. Are you trying to woo me?'' He thanked the can of soda, and soon after made a slight joke.
But what made him a little surprised was that Saeko only nodded as she sat down next to him.
He had to admit a girl like Saeko was rare in this world, especially in a world where there was no magic, since she was strong and could do several useful things.
Saeko who was standing next to him asked, ''I don't remember seeing you at school, plus this spear of yours looks a little strange, can you let me hold it?''
I transferred to school today, and about the spear, I think it's better if you don't hold it. Altair answered in a quiet manner.
He didn't want other people to touch True Longinus, otherwise the chances of that person dying is great.
''So, what do you plan to do now? I heard Takashi say that his family is in Europe, so do you have plans to go there?'' Saeko asked.
Altair just shook his head and said, ''No, to tell you the truth, I doubt very much that I will be able to go to Europe, it's very likely that the transportation systems will all be at a standstill, and it won't be long before the power goes out, maybe even nuclear power plants will be abandoned, which could wreak enormous havoc on the future of this world.
He knew that zombie apocalypse animes and movies usually didn't talk about such things, but he knew how real and dangerous this world could be, after all, a nuclear power plant needs to be checked periodically, otherwise it could explode and cause an even worse catastrophe than zombies.
Even though he has True Longinus with him, Altair doubted whether he could survive extreme radiation like that of nuclear power plants. Especially when all his statuses were sealed.
''Besides even if the transportation is working, it would only be for the government. And if Japan is in this much trouble, then I can't even imagine the other countries...''
Even saying things like that, Altair was still very calm, because the world he came into was at least a thousand times more dangerous than this one.
''You're right, there's probably no safe place in this world...'' said Saya who approached slowly.
''Looks like you woke up from your stupor.'' Altair said while curling his lips.
''Humph!'' Saya snorted lightly as she turned her face and walked away, she didn't want to be teased by someone like him.
The other people in the group were also in the room, and everyone was a little disheartened by Altair's words.
''This must be a joke, right? It's likely that the government is preparing a safe place for us...'' Rei said dejectedly.
She still wanted to believe that there was a place where she could be safe, without having to worry about whether she would have food the next day.
Altair didn't answer, but the sarcastic smile on his face said it all. He didn't think that the government could protect all citizens, in fact, it is likely that the poorest people in this world will be killed, just so that the richest can live.
Saya picked up a radio from the teachers' lounge, and immediately started flipping through the channels on the radio to a news channel to try to hear some news that might be good.
''The government asks all citizens who are in Japan to calm down, they are working towards a solution to this virus, also, a basis for Japanese citizens to live safely will be released soon.''
Everyone had different reactions upon hearing this news, Rei was the most excited, since not long ago Altair had said that there was no safe place in the world, but now the government of Japan said that a base will soon be released for citizens to live safely.
''Don't bother listening. It's useless. The government saying this is more to calm people down than to actually solve a problem, in fact it's likely that this base is a lie, and even if it is true, how many people will be able to enter it? Don't forget Japan has more than 100 million inhabitants.'' Altair said.
Saya also seemed to think the same as Altair, since she didn't seem excited about this radio news, in fact she was also skeptical about the government's help.
''This virus that turns people into zombies will probably kill more than the Spanish flu...'' Saya said sadly.
Even if she doesn't have any precise data, it is likely that half of the population will end up becoming zombies or dying.
''I just hope a cure is created in time...'' Rei said sadly.
''If I had to say, the only cure for these zombies would be extinction, but I think that's a bit difficult to accomplish.'' Altair said.
He didn't know what the system would consider completing the dungeon, but he had a feeling that he could complete the dungeon if he completely eliminated the zombies from this world.
''A really difficult task...'' he muttered mentally.
While everyone was talking, Altair looked outside the room, and saw that the zombies had already gathered in a specific place, so he said: ''Alright, let's run. Now that we are a team, we have to define some roles. When we find zombies, Saeko and I will go ahead to clean them up, while the rest of you can protect yourselves, but remember not to get too far away, otherwise I won't be able to help you.''
Altair also remembered to tell Shizuka to stay in the middle of the group, as a doctor was extremely important in these chaotic times, and he didn't want to lose someone like her.
Once everyone was ready, Altair opened the door to the teachers' lounge, and ran right out to attack the zombies that were already gathering.
Saeko was no slower than him, and soon began to help him kill the approaching zombies.
''Quickly start moving!'' Altair exclaimed when he saw that the rest of the group was still standing around watching him stupidly.
''Yes, let's move!'' Takashi said with a smile as he started to run with the rest of the group behind him.
