Altair along with the two boys easily cleaned up the zombies that were in the surrounding area, leaving the marketplace much safer than before, which would be enough for them to spend the night, or even a few days.

Takashi and Kohta who followed Altair to clear the zombies, were impressed with the dexterity he showed in killing the zombies easily, they even saw Altair's spear stretching for meters before impaling the heads of 6 zombies at once.

''We definitely can't make him be our enemy...'' Takashi muttered as he looked at Altair who had swept away all the zombies.

Takashi had always been curious about this spear of Altair's, but he knew there were things that shouldn't be asked.

''Altair-san, do you really think there won't be any safe place in this world?'' Kohta asked.

Altair nodded and said, ''I believe that if the zombies just continue at this level, then inevitably there will come a time when humans will be able to find or even create a safe place, but that will take some time... But if the zombies get stronger, then I believe that will never be possible...''

Seeing that there were no more zombies to be killed, the small group went back to the market, and at the door of the supermarket was Saeko waiting for their return.

''It's good that you came back...'' Saeko said.

Altair gave a playful smile as he looked at her and said, ''I feel honored to have a beautiful woman waiting for me.''

''Humph!''

Saeko gave a snort and walked away not wanting to argue with Altair.

Inside the market, Altair saw that the girls had already separated a good amount of food that could be edible, so he was able to relax a bit.

''A can of soda.'' Altair said as he picked up a can of soda to drink, he knows that in a short time this kind of drink will become unfit for consumption, so he intends to enjoy drinking them.

While drinking the soda, he saw that Saya was helping Shizuka make some instant noodles, so he decided to wait to eat some.

Altair talked and ate with everyone in the group, and this was also a good time to get to know everyone better, as this could make the group more united, and create a sense of belonging, which in an apocalypse is of utmost importance.

After eating, everyone went to rest, since today had been a tiring day, especially for Takashi, who had killed his friend.

After a night of resting, all of Altair's energy had been replenished, causing him to be surprised, since he thought that this ability had been sealed.

''That's good, at least if I am injured I can recover in just one day...'' he thought.

As he got up from the makeshift bed he had made, he started walking around the market, and eventually heard the sound of some zombies outside the market.

''Looks like it's time to act...''

Altair didn't tell the others that he was going to clean up the zombies that morning, because he didn't think that would be necessary, with his current strength, it would be practically impossible for him to be hurt by any zombie.

In a short time Altair had killed about 30 zombies that were near the market.

''If I have to clean all the zombies in the world, I feel like it will take me forever...'' he muttered.

After cleaning out the zombies, he went back to the marketplace and realized that all the people in the group were already awake.

Seeing that everyone was already prepared to leave, Altair said, ''Once we get across the bridge, it will be much easier to survive.''

The people in the group agreed with Altair's line, and soon started, the group's goal was to cross the bridge, which would take them out of this school town.

On the way, they had to kill dozens of zombies, but with Altair and Saeko the group didn't have much difficulty, in fact it is possible to say that they were just taking a stroll through the streets.

When Altair and his group arrived at the bridge, they saw that the bridge had been sealed off by the police, to prevent anyone from getting across.

This surprised the group, except for Altair, who expected something like this, because he knows how dangerous it is for an infected human to cross the bridge to the other side, but Altair doubts that this hasn't already happened.

In fact, it is likely that on the other side there are also several zombies, so this plan of the government to allow few people to enter may not work as they want.

"What do we do now? Takashi asked, a little distressed.

What do you think? Only the police can allow people in, plus there's probably a thorough inspection going on, plus look at this line, it's probably going to take months before we get through.'' Altair said in a relaxed manner.

While they were talking, the group saw that a horde of zombies was approaching the bridge, causing everyone's expression to darken, because they know that once the zombies get here, all the people would probably die.

Besides, this zombie horde is not small at all, as it has about 10,000 zombies, and even if on this bridge there are more than 100,000 humans, it is unlikely that the humans will win, as most of the people here do not possess any kind of weaponry.

As Altair's group could see the approaching zombie horde, so could the people on the bridge, so soon chaos ensued in the place.

''WE'RE GOING TO DIE!''

"LET US IN!

"I'M COMING IN!

Screams could be heard from all over the bridge, and there were even people trying to force their way through to the other side of the bridge, but who are the people who sealed the bridge?

The police quickly began killing those who tried to force their way across the bridge, but even the police knew that they could not contain all the humans, so much so that some had managed to cross the bridge, which gave even more courage to the others to try as well.

Seeing that things were getting out of hand, a police captain radioed for reinforcements, and soon some vehicles arrived to contain the humans who were trying to cross the bridge.

Those who had crossed were also killed, as they couldn't get very far.

This apocalypse is not only about humans vs. zombies, it's also about humans vs. humans...'' Altair commented, making everyone in the group sigh.

The zombies had already invaded the bridge, making the people who were here even more desperate.

''If the people here weren't afraid, then killing these 10,000 zombies wouldn't be impossible...'' Altair commented with a sigh.

He wasn't jesus, so he didn't intend to help all these people, besides, he knows that the bigger a group, the harder it will be to control them.

''Once the zombies get close enough, we can kill our way through the chaos.'' Saya came up with this idea which was quickly accepted by the group, as it would be easier to get out of the siege of 10,000 zombies in the midst of the chaos.

Altair also agreed, since he didn't intend to use True Longinus' abilities so easily, since that might make him a target for people here, and while, he wasn't strong enough, he didn't intend to show himself.

The zombies quickly reached the humans at the back of the line, and Altair had to commend the humans' sense of survival in times of desperation.

Many humans tried to fight their way out, causing the bridge to go into even more chaos, and not even the reinforcements the police had was enough to contain these people.

''Alright, let's get out of here.'' Altair said, as he wielded the True Longinus to cut down 3 zombies that were close to his group.

Saeko didn't stand still either as she helped him kill two more zombies. Even Takashi dealt with a zombie that was close to Shizuka.

And as they killed their way out of the encirclement, Saya asked, ''Where should we go? Since that bridge is a mess, the others will probably be in similar situations as well...''

''Let's just find a place to rest, and once we are rested we can think of a place to stay for a while.'' Altair said as he cut two more zombies in half.

Shizuka who was in the middle of the group suddenly raised her hand and said, ''Actually, I know of a small village along the river, it's pretty safe there.''

Altair quickly agreed with Shizuka's suggestion, actually he was already expecting it, since in the anime, this group seems to have gone to this small village.

And if he wasn't mistaken, in that village the plenty of ammunition and some weaponry, besides of course a car that would be of extreme importance for this group.

''All right, let's go!'' Altair increased his momentum, and quickly began to leave the right of zombies with his group.

Of course, this did not escape people's eyes. In fact, by the time he started cutting the zombies in half like paper, the people on the bridge were already watching him, and many wanted to follow them.

Altair knew this, but didn't care, he knows he can't glower at these desperate people, so he just kept killing his way out of the siege.

Quickly his group managed to escape from the bridge, and right behind them were some humans who followed him from behind, but seeing the cold expression Altair had on his face, these humans went their separate ways.

''Come on, even if this place you mentioned is close, we still have to walk for almost a whole day.'' Altair commented, while signaling for Shizuka to show the way.

...

...

On the bridge, which was in chaos, a policeman watching with binoculars saw Altair cutting through the zombies like wet pieces of paper, and he had to admit that this boy was strong.

He was even more surprised that the boy had managed to break through the siege of these zombies and escape alive.

This policeman knew that he couldn't save all the people on the bridge, so he decided to just watch the scene to see if he could detect any people with the potential to fight these zombies.

And if he did, he would send a group of policemen to help them cross the bridge.

This could be considered a little wrong, since the policeman was saving only those strong people, but in his vision, this was what made the most sense, after all, in an apocalypse what is more important, the life of a 70-year-old gentleman, or a young man of 18? Who can fight zombies.

This question had an easy answer, at least for the policeman.

What a pity, this boy would be a great addition to the police force...' The policeman sighed, while turning his attention to the group of thousands of people who were desperate.
