Rise Of G-Morph And The Amazing Spider-Man by Amit Barabi:

Here is a summary for those who read this story on their phone's browser:

Gwen Stacy is chosen by Eunice to become the successor of the Hero Of Heroes, Ben Tennyson. Please read and enjoy her origin as the heroine, G-Morph, and her ever-growing adventure with her arachnoid boyfriend, Spider-Man.

This story is mainly based on the movies of The Amazing Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it also has some original ideas. Peter and Gwen are pairing. I was inspired by The Incredible Muffin's My Alien Academia and Ben 10: Unlimited. This story was originally titled "Wristed Heroes". This is the first story of my big planned series, Amit's Cinematic Universe, or ACU for short.

Ben 10 and Marvel do not belong to me.

Welcome to the 3rd chapter of my first fanfiction on this website. It is going to be quite different from the last two chapters because while they focused on Gwen Stacy, this chapter is going to focus on Peter Parker.

After all, they are both the protagonists of this story, and to be honest, I think it would be a lot easier for me to bring to words the mindset of a teenage boy rather than the one of a teenage girl for obvious reasons.

So, what do I plan for Peter?

Well, you are about to find out.

Chapter 3: The Suitcase.

Peter didn't know what to say.

He had a crush on Gwen for two whole years, and not only did she not report him for stalking her for a big part of those two years and seemed to have forgiven him, but she also encouraged him to ask her out.

'It must be a trap!' He thought. Why would a great girl like her want him to ask her out? 'How do I ask her out? Will she say yes if I ask her? If so, then why not just ask me out herself?' At this point, Peter realized that Gwen was staring into his eyes, waiting for him to make his move, and unlike Liz Allen, less than two hours ago, something about Gwen's formally tearing eyes seemed more genuine and honest, 'You know what? Screw it! Just ask her out! Weren't you willing to take off your pants for her a second ago?'.

"So you want to... You wanna... I don't know…"

"Wanna what?" Had Peter not been too busy trying his best to form a proper sentence, he would have wondered why his crush acts like she did not know what he was trying to say. It was almost as if she was messing with him in some way, or maybe just pushing him further toward asking. It was so confusing.

Her half-curious, half-smug expression made her mindset unreadable, especially after crying about two minutes ago, and it only made it even harder for Peter to know what to say.

"Just ahh… I don't know, we could… or we could do something else…"

"Yeah, we can do either of those. Just tell me what you want us to do." Gwen's smile finally became readable at this point. She was waiting patiently for him to find the words, and it made Peter confident enough to finally say them.

"You wanna go out with me?"

"Yes!" Gwen barely managed to contain her joy from this and her wide smile could tell it all, "... I mean sure, I would love to." She said more calmly.

Even though he kept his voice lower, Peter was just as excited as Gwen was, "Is this next weekend good? Or maybe you wanna…".

"This next weekend sounds great." They both smiled at each other when the school nurse finally opened the door to her office and allowed Peter to come inside. Peter gave Gwen his phone so she could see for sure that he has no copies of inappropriate pictures of her from this morning's incident before entering the nurse's office.

"You two have great chemistry, but planning a romantic date after what happened earlier feels kind of random. What was that all about?" Eunice asked. Her hologram didn't appear, but her voice could be heard in Gwen's mind from the Omnitrix.

Gwen looked into Peter's phone. Before she could find any of his albums she noticed an app with a weird-looking "K" icon, which she could not open for some reason. But shortly after that, she found his albums while whispering, "Why won't you tell me? There are no upskirt pictures of me on either his phone or his camera."

"S-s-so?" Eunice's voice had flickered with a hint of guilt in it as if she was caught committing a crime.

"So, why did you lie to me? Was this some sort of a test or something? You said you saw him taking pictures of me with his camera."

"Alright, you've got me. He didn't take any pictures of you. I tested both of you."

"Both of us?!" Gwen glared at her watch, "You made me worry for nothing and almost got Peter in trouble! And why were my legs acting weird after you lied? Explain yourself now, Eunice!"

Eunice's hologram finally appeared in front of Gwen, "Remember that I said your boyfriend was about as worthy as you were by my mental scan? I tested him by giving him the chance to take all the pictures he wanted by messing with the nerve system in your legs, and he passed the test," Eunice explained while Gwen's eyes narrowed in anger, "And as for your test, I wanted you to sneak into his house or steal his camera and delete the pictures he may have on his computer. It was not a perfect plan, since you have figured it out, but I only came up with the idea aft-"

"You little... You did..." Gwen breathed heavily before speaking out loud, "WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?! YOU SOCIOPATHIC BITCH!"

"Calm down, Gwen! Someone could hear you!"

"You don't get to reason with me after what you have done!" Gwen's eyes narrowed and started to go red again, "You objectified me! You humiliated me in front of the whole school! And you made me assume the worst about my b... Peter! And what for?! To see who is more worthy of this stupid watch-?!"

Just then, the door of the nurse's office opened, and Gwen saw Peter with a bag of ice on his temple as Eunice disappeared, "Who were you talking to?" Peter asked, "I couldn't make out what you said, but you sounded angry."

Gwen looked at Peter and tried her best to calm down, "I... I was just telling someone... on the phone that they were... a bad friend and that I don't need them anymore." Gwen replied.

"That's sucks. Are you okay?"

"I will be..." Gwen wiped the tears from her eyes, "We should get back to class. See you on our date." She said with a smile and walked away. She then turned around and smiled at him again, "Thanks for caring so much, Peter. That other... person... could learn a lot from you."

The two of them returned to class and continued their day as regularly as they could. Peter had even found Gwen's book and returned it to her before the day was over. When a few students asked the pair what that exchange was about, Peter mumbly explained that Gwen had dropped her book when she rushed to help him after she has seen Flash punching him.

On his way home, Peter was so excited about his upcoming date that he felt like he had to tell someone right away, and then he remembered something. He turned on his phone and started texting his best / only friend.

Peter: 'Happy birthday buddy!'

After a few minutes, his phone vibrated.

Harry: 'Thanks, Peter. Once again, you beat my father at this.'

Peter may have looked up to Norman Osborn ever since he remembered himself, but there was one thing that always made him unhappy about this man; he never appreciated Harry. Sure, Harry was never a guy who worked hard enough, and he wasn't as smart as Peter was, but he always tried to impress his old man. Ironically, by preferring Peter over his own son due to his determination and hard-working nature, Norman gave Peter a reason not to like him as much as they both wished he would have. And Peter's idealism of the man had decreased even further when Iron Man made his debut about 4 years ago. Peter always thought that smart people who accomplish their goals and became were a good source of inspiration to accomplish some of his goals, though both Norman and Stark had very noticeable shortcomings that made him value them less.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Peter typed on his phone.

Peter: 'He might be harsh and may put his work first sometimes, but I'm sure he will send you something nice.'

Harry: 'Yeah… knowing him he will probably send me a bottle of booze so I won't remember how much sucks he is as a father.'

Harry: 'But enough about me and my AH dad. Are you ok back there? Because Europe is boring AF.'

Peter: 'Yeah… Flash gave me some beating today…'

Peter: 'I called him Eugene...'

Harry: 'Ouch!... I hope I will recognize you by the time I return home.'

Harry: 'It should happen a week or so after we graduate, so Flash may not even leave you in one piece by then.'

Harry: 'R U OK?'

Peter: 'It wasn't that bad, and I even go out with Gwen this next weekend. I think she saw something heroic in me or something.'

Harry: 'Gwen Lee from Spanish class?'

Peter: 'Gross, NO! Gwen Stacy from Chemistry and Physics.'

There was a pause, and then Peter received a response.

Harry: 'Good for, man! Congrats! Being asked out by HER must be a dream coming true.'

Peter: 'Actually, I asked her out.'

There was no response for almost a minute.

Harry: 'Impressive… Just don't tell my father about it, or he will add this to his "Things That Peter Does Better Than You, Son" list.'

Peter: 'Yeah…'

Harry must have realized that he was making this reveal about himself because he texted an apology.

Harry: 'Sorry, man… Enjoy your date.'

Peter: 'Thanks… Enjoy your birthday. Have to go. Low battery…'

As soon as Peter lifted his head from his phone he skated into a tree next to his home, refreshing his blackeye from earlier. "Ouch! It better heal by this next weekend!".

...

When Peter returned home, he knew he would have to find a way to explain his black eye to his uncle, Ben, and his aunt, May, though he did not want to go through another one of those talks.

Ever since Peter's parents died, he was taken care of by his uncle and aunt. They were practically his parents since that day happened, back when he was only four years old, and ever since then, Peter had only two friends, Harry Osborn, and Eugene -who has gotten the nickname "Flash" around the time they were six years old- Tomson, but as soon as they started their time at first grade, Flash got separated from the two 'nerds' and became their bully when his body started to show more growth and girls and sports became his two favorite things.

Now, with Harry not around anymore, Peter only had his Uncle and his Aunt.

"I'm home," Peter said quietly as he tried to get to his room without making any direct eye contact. Unfortunately, both of his parents' figures saw him. They were both worried and disturbed by the look on his face, "It is not what you… I ran into a tree while texting with Harry and..."

Before Peter could finish his sentence, his uncle cut him short, "There is a flood in the basement, and I need your help. Why won't you put some ice on it, and then come help me in the basement?" He suggested with a smile as he placed a dusty cardboard box full of balling trophies in a spot that his wife allowed him to use.

"Sure…" Peter answered.

Peter's uncle, Ben, looked relatively well for a 72-year-old man. He had short dark grey hair that barely showed any sign of retreat. The skin on his face was a little wrinkled, but not enough for one to think he was more than 60 years old. He had a little belly that was contained by his abs from his old days as a training coach and a balling champion. He wore a white shirt covered by a buttoned blue shirt and matching blue pants. One could mistake it for a plumber suit.

Once in the basement, Uncle Ben and ice-packed Peter tried to figure out what the cause of the flood was.

"I think it's the condenser tray..." Uncle Ben suggested with uncertainty.

Peter looked around, analyzing the amount of water on the floor with his uncovered eye, "No. Too much water for the condenser tray or the heat exchange tubing. This has got to be the fill line."

Seeing that Peter understands this stuff a lot better than he does, Uncle Ben decided to change the topic.

"So what really happened to your eye?" Ben asked calmly.

"I'm telling you, Uncle Ben, I just ran into a tree on my way home." It was not fully a lie; he did run into a tree, but it was not what caused the black eye in the first place.

His uncle seemed to have known it already, "I saw you running into that tree, son. But I also know what punch injuries look like. So was he from your school?" Peter did not answer, but his silence was all Ben needed as an answer. "It was Eugene again, wasn't it?" Peter took a moment and then nodded. He knew how to keep a secret from his uncle, but he loved him like a father, and it was a painful way, even more than his beating from earlier whenever he did it. And this guilt made Peter unwilling to lie about certain things.

"Yes, it was Flash," Peter finally looked at his uncle in the eyes, "I saw it coming and kinda had it too." It was time for the truth, "I saw him beating up a kid, Gordon, I think. He wanted me to help him bully that kid, but I refused and told him to put him down. He didn't like it."

Ben put a hand on Peter's shoulder, "You did the right thing, son," they smiled at each other as Ben continued, "You are the one victim of this bully who always stands up to him, and it gives you all the power you need."

Peter was a little confused by it, "What are you talking about? The power to do what?"

"The power to make a change, and when you have this kind of power it is your moral obligation and responsibility to use it for the good of others. Remember, not a choice but, a responsibility. It is just like the philosophy your father and I were raised with," Ben smiled and hugged Peter. Thinking about his dad and brother made the old man emotional, and Peter looked just like him when he was that age, "Now finish cleaning here while I talk to his parents, and tell me if you need any help with fixing this flood," Ben walked upstairs, but before he was gone he turned around, "Oh, and that computer you built in your room from parts you found in the garbage acted kind of weird today."

Peter paused his work before replying, "It is an AI server, and I will check on it once I'm done here."

As soon as his uncle left, Peter continued organizing the basement. It lasted for about half an hour until he found something that caught his eye. It was an old suitcase. This suitcase was familiar to him. Oh, yes, his father owned it years ago before he had left him and died.

After Peter finished his chore, he brought the suitcase with him to show his uncle, "Oh hey, I remember this suitcase, your mother sold it to your father many years ago," Ben said with a smile, "That's how they met." Peter remembered the story, so he did not ask for any more details, but he wondered about the items inside the bag, specifically the picture his father took with three other guys. Unfortunately, he could only recognize one of them. The man was a lot younger in the picture, but Peter still recognized him; it was his best friend's father, Norman Osborn, the CEO of Oscorp, but he couldn't recognize the two other men in the picture.

"Uncle Ben, do you know the men in this picture?" Peter asked. He always wondered what happened to his parents, but when he tried to find out, all he could find was an article about a plane crash, but something never added up. According to the article, it was not clear if his parents were even on the plane, nor did it explain how they could get on the plane if they were on the run, as said article implied. It was as if it was fake, not to mention that the blog that published it only had one publication. There was a mystery here, a mystery that he dropped years ago, but this bag brought the mystery back to the top of Peter's attention, and maybe, just maybe, this bag contains the clues Peter needs. Maybe his parents could still be alive and located.

"Yes, I know them," Ben took a good look at the picture, it was an old picture and was not kept under the best conditions, but he could definitely recognize every face in it. "These are your father and Harry's father, Norman. The guy next to Norman is his college best friend, Otto Octavius. They formed Oscorp together from nothing. And the guy next to your father is called Curt Connors. He and your father were the best when it came to biological stuff. I never understood what these two were talking about. Sorry."

"It's okay," Peter kept looking at the picture. "You told me more than enough. Thanks, Uncle Ben."

Peter took the bag to his room for further investigation. Maybe he could test his little science project while doing his research.

Peter's investigation started by searching online for every bit of valuable information about the people in the picture, but there was just too much about some of them, and most of the information did not look relevant to his search.

It was time to test his AI server. He turned it on and waited for the motion sensors to react to his presence in the room, "Go-go-good afternoon, Peter," The AI spoke, "How can I he-he-he-help you?"

It may have stuttered and taken too long to react, but it still seemed to work, "Hey, Karen. I need you to look into my latest searches from the last ten minutes and narrow it down to valuable information about my parents' plane accident 13 years ago." He said as he typed the date of his parents' supposed death.

It took a few moments, but the AI, Karen, finally spoke, "After going through a-al-all the a-ar-art-art-art-articles and Wi-wi-wi-Wikipedia pages about those pe-pe-people and the date of your parent's death, I concluded that only two people w-wh-who are alive to talk to you and may give you valuable an-an-an-answers." The monitor attached to Karen's server showed two of the men from the picture, "Norman Osborn and Curtis Connors. Both work i-i-i-in Oscorp Tower".

"Wait, what about the fourth guy, Otto Octavius?" Peter asked, "Where can I find him?"

"I'm so-so-so-sorry, Peter, but ac-co-co-cording to my search he-he-he-he-he is dead. Otto Octavius was the head o-o-of Oscorp's cybernetic department and the second most influential share-holder of Oscorp. But when he was diagnosed with severe muscle degeneration, he tried to use his latest and last creation, Retractable Mechanical Tentacles, or RNT for sh-sho-short, to stay operational, but something went wrong and he died from neural failure in front of a crowd of scientists, investors, and reporters. His death is unquestionable. It happened almost one month after the death of your parents."

"I don't know the guy, but I still feel bad for him," Peter said as he watched a video feed of the man dying, "Being trapped like that in his own body for who knows how long must have been a nightmare. I just hope he didn't suffer in his last moment. Anyway, is Norman Osborn anywhere around Queens at the moment?"

It took Karen almost 4 minutes before it replied. During that time, Peter wondered, if there could be a connection between the death of his parents and Octavius, but that meant someone from Oscorp or a rival company had to pull the strings, and there was no way Harry's dad would have allowed someone to kill the people close to him.

"Data not found." The AI said, cutting Peter's train of thought, "I-i-it-It seems like your best o-o-op-option is to talk to Doctor Curtis Connors."

"Knowing Harry's dad, he will not answer his phone, so I guess you're right." Peter said with a disappointed expression on his face as he noticed that his AI started to stutter more often during the conversation, "You are stuttering too often, Karen. Can you help me arrange a meeting with this Doctor Connors before I shut you down for repairs?"

"I'm en-en-en-en-entering O-o-o-o-OSC-" with that, the AI stopped working and its server released a small amount of black smoke.

"Oh shit!" Peter shouted as he unplugged the server and opened both the window and cover of the smoking server. Thankfully, there was no fire... this time, "Another day, another burned Processor..." Peter sighed, "I guess I will have to find a different way to talk to Connors. And then, I will fix you, Karen."

He pulled out his phone and opened his messenger app, "I hope Harry won't be mad at me after this..."

"Thanks, Harry. Sorry for making you do this." Peter finished his text conversation with Harry via voice message one block away from the Oscorp Tower. He hated asking his friend for a favor that involved him talking to his father only a few hours after they talked about how much Harry and his father do not get along, but he knew it was the only way to get into the Oscorp Tower without sneaking in.

Part of Peter assumed that Norman was so kind because it was him, the guy who helped Harry so many times to achieve pretty much anything at school before he was transported to that boring school in Europe. Norman always had a soft spot for Peter due to him being a smart and hard-working student. Though, Peter overheard him saying that he was "too kind for this world". That was the only time he heard Harry's father saying a bad thing about him. Peter always hoped Harry could get this level of kindness from his father. Maybe that was why he sent Harry to Europe in the first place. The man claimed that he wanted his son to be better prepared for the real world, so he might have been just trying to lift his son to his standards.

Peter wore black genes pants, a black t-shirt, and a brownish-green jacket with pockets on the chest. It resembled the outfit he wore for school, but not quite the same. He also took off his dry contact lenses and put on his old glasses.

When Peter entered the lobby floor of Oscorp Tower, walked to the post which Harry had described and told Peter to go to in order to get his Tour ID Badge. It was a good thing that Harry knew this place so well, otherwise, it would have taken Peter over half an hour to find the right post and the secretary whom Harry forgot to describe.

The secretary was a young woman that Peter had to admit to himself that he found even more attractive than Gwen, which said a lot, considering Peter's taste for blondes and Gwen's beauty. But then again, the secretary had an unfair advantage over Gwen since she looked like she was in her early twenties while both he and Gwen were only seventeen years old. She had long black hair that almost reached down her stomach, big green eyes, full lips covered by red lipstick, and rounded small cheeks that made her smile and eyes more noticeable. She wore a tight short black dress with short sleeves that showed her buxom body shape and left a little cleavage thanks to a V-shaped neckline that started from the edges of her collarbones and ended just above the center of her chest. She placed her Employee Badge on the left side of her chest, but it was mostly covered by her hair.

"Thanks for the badge, umm…"

Peter tried to read her name to thank her properly for his badge, but with her hair hiding her badge, all he could catch was the beginning of her first name, "Fel-". It narrowed it down to either Felicity or Felicia in Peter's mind; she looked like a Felicity to him, though.

"Do you enjoy what you see?" She asked him with a teasing smirk while crossing her arm and covering her chest.

Realizing what she thought he was looking at, Peter blushed and did his best to focus on her green eyes, "S-Sorry, I was just, umm… No, I-"

"Relax, new guy, I'm just messing with you," She removed her arms from her chest and widened her smile, "I like the attention. You can look at them if you want, but you should practice keeping it subtle, or people may notice too easily."

"I w-was just trying to read your name," He pointed at the badge on her chest and immediately withdrew his pointing hand as his face got even redder; some steam formed on his glasses. After what happened with Gwen earlier today, he did not wish to test his luck with staring at attractive women, especially when there were even more important things at stake.

"Okay. So in that case…" The beautiful woman moved her hair aside, leaned forward, and pulled her Employee Badge towards him with her left hand to give Peter a better look at her badge, but by doing so, she -seemingly intentionally- also pulled her dress's neckline downward, revealing more cleavage and a little bit of the left cup of her lacy black bra. Peter cleaned his glasses from the previously formed steam and attempted to read her name, but after less than half a second, he found himself forgetting about her badge and staring directly at her impressively large breasts.

She gave him around four seconds of looking before covering her badge with her hand, but not her subductive cleavage. Seeing that he was still looking at her, even with her Employee Badge covered, she spoke, "So... Did you catch my name?" She asked almost with the cheerfulness of a playing child before switching to a more teasing voice and writing down something on a note with her right hand, "Or do you need another try?"

It took Peter a second, but then he managed to will himself to look up from the secretary's busty chest and shut his eyes close. Not knowing what kind of game that strange woman was playing, nor wanting to take part in it under the risk of a Human Resources complaint, Peter just said her name -or rather, what he could read- with the blush still on his face, "Felicia Hardly. Your name is Felicia Hardly."

"Close enough," Felicia said with a slightly more serious expression while fixing her neckline, "My last name is Hardy. Have a nice internship."

"What was that all about?" Peter asked the secretary in confusion.

"Harry said that you are fun to talk to," Felicia's smile never left her face, "But he never said you were so cute, though."

Not trying to understand what this woman was to harry, nor wanting to be distracted from his search for the answers he wanted, Peter just wanted to finish this strange interaction and go upstairs. And then it hit him; his eyes opened as he looked deep into hers, "Is this about me asking Harry for a favor on his birthday?" Peter asked.

Felicia nodded, "You've got me, Peter," Her childhood friend from private post-school instructions and her former crush was not wrong about Peter's intelligence and deduction skills, "Jokes aside, I do think you're cute. Do you have plans for…" She looked at her calendar, "Sunday next month?"

"No offense, but I am seventeen, and you are like twenty, so-"

"Twenty-one," Felicia corrected him with a smile, "But thanks."

"And I am seeing someone." Peter ignored her correction, 'What is up with this woman?' Peter thought, 'Is she going through a second puberty or something?'

Felicia simply got off her desk and put a note with her number in his jacket's pocket, "If you change your mind by the time you turn eighteen, then talk to me."

Trying his best to ignore Felicia's offer, Peter thanked her for the Tour ID Badge and headed upstairs to where the tour would start as Felicia waved for him kindly, much to his embarrassment.

Peter knew that asking to interview one of the highest-ranked scientists of the second-biggest company in New York would be too big of a favor to ask from Norman Osborn, even for him, and trying to talk to Norman Osborn himself about his parents would have to be even harder. Coming for a pre-internship tour with a bunch of other teenagers and "accidentally" losing the tour group would effectively get him to where the information about his parents must be kept. That is of course if he could not find Doctor Curtis Connors and ask him in private about them.

Everything seemed to work according to the plan until…

"I know I technically never asked you to stop stalking me, but following me to work is a little creepy, Peter." Gwen appeared behind him. She wore a black T-shirt with white thin stripes and a short black skirt that looked shorter than it really was due to her thigh-long black socks and knee-long brown boots. Both the skirt and the shirt were nearly entirely covered by an open white lab coat that most people who worked on this floor wore. She had her hair up in a ponytail as she had it earlier that day at school, only the ponytail started a little lower and she did not wear her black bow.

With elements of her current appearance, such as the white lab coat that resembled her white wind coat, the black short skirt that was nearly identical to her dark-ish grey one, and the ponytail, one could be mistaken to think it was the same outfit from earlier. Peter, on the other hand, could tell it was just a similar outfit. He would never brag about it, but he could check her out on instinct, and unlike Felicia, Gwen didn't seem to have the cat-like senses to spot it.

But there was one thing that caught Peter's eye that he has never seen before. It was probably due to the long-sleeved shirt that she had worn at school earlier today; it was a weird-looking wristwatch on her left wrist, it was black and green and had two green buttons with a strange-looking glowing hourglass where the time should be shown, right between the two buttons.

Gwen looked nervous and hid her left wrist behind her back as soon as she noticed what Peter was looking at. It was at this moment that she realized she forgot to put her homemade wristband over her Omnitrix back on after she flew here and transformed back into her human form.

"I swear, I didn't know you were going to have a shift here today!" Peter looked about as nervous as Gwen was when he looked at her strange-looking watch a moment ago. It was obvious to her that he told the truth, but he didn't want her to think that he stalked her again; he promised her, after all, "I am here for the tour under Doctor Curt Connors. I will explain later. I swear on my uncle's life." Peter looked less nervous after saying that and showed her his Tour ID Badge. Gwen seemed to believe him. And why would she not believe him? He could not fake this Tour ID Badge in such details.

"Alright, the tour will start in a minute, but you better explain to me everything before our date this next weekend. Oh, and don't get me in trouble. They appreciate me here, but I am just an internee, and I can't associate myself with any disaster. Oaky?" She may have started to enjoy her former stalker's presence, but she was still the same girl who put her job first and her personal life later. Her plans for her life may not go the way she thought a few days ago, but she will be damned if she lets a guy she likes or an alien watch get her in trouble at work.

As soon as she said that, she saw Doctor Connors was arriving. He had dirty blonde hair and wore glasses and a white shirt with a black tie and black pants that were covered by a white lab coat identical to the one Gwen wore.

"Good afternoon, Gwen. I have got the file you put in my office," Connors greeted his internee before turning his attention to the other teenagers, "Welcome, everyone, my name is Doctor Curtis Connors," He saw that some of the potential internees looked at his missing right arm and decided to break the ice with some humor, "And yes, as you can see, I am a southpaw." It earned a few giggles from his crowd and Eunice, though no one heard or saw her except Gwen.

"I am a scientist who studies ways to heal humanity from disabilities and weaknesses such as Parkinson's, Blindness, Degeneration, and many more through reptile DNA. I want to create a world without weaknesses, a cured and stronger humanity," He looked down at his missing arm while saying the last part, "Anyone wants to guess how I do it?"

One of the teenagers raised his hand, asking for permission to speak, "Stem cells?" he suggested without much confidence.

"Promising, but not the solution. What I am thinking of is more… radical. Anyone else?" Dr. Connors looked at the crowd in the hope someone would suggest another idea, "No one?"

Just before he was about to continue, Peter spoke, "Cross-Species Genetics" Everyone moved aside, giving Peter and Dr. Connors a chance to make eye contact as Peter continued. "People get Parkinson's when the brain cells that produce dopamine start to disappear. But the Zebrafish possesses the ability to regenerate cells on command." Curt and Gwen looked very impressed by Peter as he kept going. "If you somehow give this ability to a person, then they can… they can cure themselves instinctively."

Connors felt so happy to see a young person thinking about similar solutions to humanity's unfortunate weaknesses to the point he nearly started a whole conversation with him, but he held himself back and tried to keep personal conversations to a minimum, "And you are?"

Before Peter could answer, Gwen, who was just as impressed, but not as surprised, replied with equal excitement to the one Dr. Connors had tried to hide, "His name is Peter Parker, and he is one of Midtown's Science brightest students. He is the second-best in our class."

This caused Dr. Connors to look at Peter with wide eyes as if some dots started to connect in his mind. Then, he looked at Gwen with a questioning look, as the question in his mind was voiced by Peter who wondered as well about the ranking she just gave him, "Just second? Are you sure about that?"

Gwen smiled at Peter's question with a reply, "Yes, I'm quite sure about that. Very close to the first best, though."

Before the conversation could continue any further, Dr. Connors's phone rang, "Yes… I will be there in a few minutes." The one-armed Doctor hung off his phone and spoke to his crowd, "I'm afraid duty calls. I will have to leave you in the more than capable hands of my assistant Miss Stacy. Nice meeting you, all." He looked at Peter while saying the last part before leaving.

As soon as Doctor Connors left, Gwen used her tablet to turn on a recorded hologram that explained Oscorp's Tree Of Life and the unclassified parts of their research on Cross-Species Genetics.

"You know, even though this research is considered primitive by my standards, it is nice to see that people here use their minds to help others and acknowledge that Humanity needs to be improved," Eunice said as she appeared behind Gwen and looked at the hologram. She saw the evil applications of this kind of research from the front line, but she had also seen its good applications and was even made by more advanced levels of it by her father, "Azmuth would have a lot of fun in this build… wait!" Gwen looked at her holographic mentor in concern and confusion, "Where is your boyfriend?"

Gwen blushed at the last word and then saw that Peter had indeed disappeared. She took a few steps away from the group and whispered, "First of all he is not my boyfriend... yet. Second, I don't speak to you after what you did to me at school. And third, how did you not see him? Can't you sense every living thing and its 'worthiness' around you?" Gwen then returned to the group and tried to act normal as Eunice tried to find Peter.

In his attempts to find Dr. Connors, Peter ran and bumped into a dark-skinned man in a business suit and accidentally made him drop the file he held. When Peter peeked it up and handed the file to the man he noticed a similar equation to the one that he saw in his father's bag, though this one was much more detailed. The biggest surprise for Peter was the handwriting on it, "From Gwen Stacy To Doctor Curtis Connors."

'That must be what I'm looking for!' Peter thought.

Peter followed the man to a section of the building that did not have security cameras for some reason. 'If a corporation as secretive as Oscorp keeps parts of their buildings in the dark, then it means they don't want anyone to see what's going on. Well, it works for me.' Peter thought.

He looked from behind a corner as the man typed a very unique security code on a panel to open a door and entered inside. Peter memorized the security code and waited until the man went out of the room. Sure enough, the man exited the room with all of the people who were there beforehand. It allowed Peter to search the room. He approached the security panel and typed the security code he has memorized and entered the empty lab. He saw their documents about Cross-Species Genetics and formulas for genetic improvement on the unlocked computer, but there was one thing that got Peter's attention more than anything, a folder about his father. Peter opened the file and saw there a glitching video of his father from the day he left, where his father talked about how he figured out how to save Norman Osborn's life through Cross-Species Genetics.

Peter did not even know that Mr. Osborn was dying. He must have either hidden it well or found a cure for whatever his illness was. As the video continued, Peter's father talked about how he used spider DNA in his research, but the recording glitched when he explained why the spiders could not work. Peter did understand one sentence clearly despite the lack of footage, though, and that sentence explained why the video felt so rushed made, "Oscorp tried to weaponize my work, and now that they can't, they are going to take me and my wife from our son."

Peter started to panic! His breath became quicker and heavier as his heartbeat raised; he had suspected that something was fishy about the death of his parents, but to think that Oscorp or even Norman Osborn himself had a hand in it? That was impossibly a lot to take in!

At this point, Peter heard someone approaching the door to the lab, and he knew he had to act fast. He closed the file before finishing the video, ran into a secondary dark room inside the lab, and closed the door.

"How many times will I have to tell you to stop leaving your computer unlocked?" The dark-skinned man told one of the scientists as they entered the lab, "These security breaches could compromise everything we are working on!"

"But the door was locked," The scientist replied as he locked his computer, "And no one even touched my computer. See?"

"Next time you do it, I will have your head for that!" The dark-skinned man threatened before they left the lab.

The room was dark and did not make Peter feel safe, but it served the purpose of hiding him until the scientists left the room again. Peter could imagine those people finding him, figuring out what he has seen, and killing him in a way that would look like an accident, just as they did to his parents. Thoughts about his uncle and aunt hearing about a crime that he never committed shortly before his "accidental" death started to haunt his mind and the thought of Gwen being hurt too for claiming in front of a lead scientist that they are close almost made him vomit.

In a moment of fear, Peter took a step back and bumped into a machine that had spiders all over it, causing the spiders to fall on him, which freaked Peter out even further. He brushed the spiders off of himself, and to his surprise, they webbed their way back to the strange-looking machine.

Peter left the lab quickly, not knowing that Eunice was watching him on his way back to the group.

While Peter tried to return to the group without being spotted, Eunice had already returned to where Gwen was in the blink of an eye, "I found him, and he is on his way back, but he looked odd. He runs like he has seen an Ectonurite or something," Eunice told Gwen, "I followed him until I reached my distance limit from the Omnitrix to the outside of some lab."

"Ecto-what? What was he looking for?" Gwen asked quietly, "Which lab?" But before Eunice could answer, Peter nearly unnoticeably rejoined the group. Gwen wondered where he learned how to sneak like that, what made him leave the group, and what made him look like he has seen a ghost, but she knew she could not ask him now. She activated another recorded hologram for the tour group and approached Peter.

"Where have you been, Peter?" Gwen asked quietly while walking toward him before she saw his expression, "Are you okay?"

"I… ahh… I searched for the toilet." Peter replied as the one spider that he had failed to notice and brush off found its way to the back of Peter's neck and bit him, causing Peter to hit the spider in pain with his hand and kill it.

The moment the spider bit Peter, the Omnitrix started to beep, but before Gwen could even come up with an excuse for her weird-looking watch, it stopped as quickly as it started.

"I feel a little weird, though," Peter said stressfully with a headache, "Probably an aftereffect of Flash beating me,"

"The tour will be over in about twenty minutes," Gwen said, "If you want, I can drive you home once I'm done working here for today."

"Since when do you have a car?" Peter asked, "And why do you always walk to school?"

"Midtown's Science is a lot closer to where I live, so I don't need to drive," Gwen replied, "So do you need me to drive you or not?"

Peter felt his vision going crazy and unintentionally gave Gwen a weird expression. He remembered his thoughts regarding Gwen's safety from the dark spider room and decided to turn down the offer, "I... I don't feel so good. I think I will just go home early."

"Alright," Gwen raised her hand, "Then give me your Tour ID. I hope you will feel better tomorrow, but I think you should see a doctor."

After handing over the Badge, Peter walked towards the elevator, "I will see if I need one tomorrow... Sorry for getting you in trouble."

"It's alright, Peter," Gwen told him as he waited for the elevator, "Just call me when you get home. I will explain it to our teachers if you can't come to school tomorrow."

The elevator arrived, and Peter went inside, "Thanks, Gwen... Please drive carefully." 'I hope I am just being paranoid.' Peter thought.

...

Meanwhile, in Doctor Curtis Connors's office, the crippled Doctor sat in his chair while discussing his research with the dark-skinned man.

"We received the results of the mRNA sequences this morning. And they were mostly disappointing." Doctor Connors said.

The dark-skinned man looked at his co-worker with a questioning and curious, yet demoralizing, expression, "Mostly?".

"It was something my protege, Gwen Stacy, came up with last weekend," The Doctor said while finding his desk very interesting. "It almost bypassed the decay rate algorithm. No one on my team expected that. I don't know how, but she got us closer to our goal in one weekend better than I did in..."

"I don't care if you got it from a high school student or even if you beat it out of a homeless person," The dark-skinned man said with more intimidation in his voice, "You said you were close, and now you are even closer. So do whatever it takes. He doesn't have time. Norman Osborn is dying, Doctor Connors. Save him. And if we need your protege to skip school for this entire year or recruit her last-moment interned new boyfriend, then make her do it."

The two men looked at each other with concern about their futures as the dark-skinned man continued, "Or we will both lose our heads." And with that, he was on his way to leave the office.

"Wait!" Doctor Connors got up from his chair as the dark-skinned man stopped on his way, "What do you mean by 'last-moment interned'? Who is he?"

"We both saw him today. It is your old friend's son, Peter Parker." The dark-skinned man turned around, "He asked Mr. Osborn himself to join today's tour. It was all arranged about an hour before the tour started. It is a shame though he had some stomach problems shortly after the tour started."

The dark-skinned man noticed the look on Connors's face, "Maybe it is time for you to reconnect with that family. We could always use another scientist from the Parker family, and I am certain he will listen to you."

Connors picked up his phone and prepared to call Gwen. It looked like he found his next intern.

Soon after he dialed Gwen's number over his phone, Doctor Curtis Connors was sure he called the wrong person. Gwen's voice sounded differently, she talked as if she was doing something important while talking to him, and there were loud sounds of wind during most of the call. It was strange, but after a minute of talking, there was a beeping sound, the wind stopped, and Gwen's voice returned to its familiar state.

Soon after he finished his strange-sounding conversation with Gwen about Peter, the crippled Doctor received another call from an unknown caller. Instead of seeing a number, Connors saw a glitching V on his phone's screen. He answered the call hesitantly, and nearly dropped the device when he heard what the person on the other side said.

Author notes:

I have started to do texting in this story. I thought it would be a great way to both introduce Harry Osborn to the story and establish his friendship with Peter.

You may have noticed the very obvious Easter Eggs in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Norman sending Harry a bottle of alcohol without even a birthday card and Felicia being close to Harry. I put those Easter Eggs in because I wanted to establish how bad of a father Norman is to Harry and give Felicia a memorable introduction. I also think it would be natural for Felicia to work somewhere in Oscorp Tower as a lobby secretary before going up the ranks to a CEO assistant, and this interaction she had with Peter just feels more human than the one Peter had with that robot lady in The Amazing Spider-Man.

Now just because I put that Easter Egg does not confirm or deny that I will do the events of the second Amazing Spider-Man movie, but I do have plans for the characters from that movie. Heck, I even wanted to introduce Max in this chapter, but I could not find an organic way to introduce him here. But considering that Peter is going to work with Orscorp soon, I can find ways to make his first appearance feel natural.

You probably have noticed that I started to use a capital O for Omnitrix. The reason for that is that a friend of mine named HEROwriter1 told me that the Omnitrix is such a significant device that it should have a capital letter as if it was a character. And after taking a look at one of the stories The Incredible Muffin wrote, I noticed that he writes Omnitrix and Ultimatrix with a capital letter. It won't be the last rewrite you will see in this story, as I am a QA Tester, and therefore, I always find something to criticize and improve.

As always, go check out my YouTube channel, which is also called Amit Barabi, where I talk about fanfiction stories other people write, most knowingly My Alien Academia by The Incredible Muffin. I also have a P-atreon, so if you want to support this story and any other artistic project that I work on, you can do it there.
