Soon it was Sunday night and Mari was laying on her bed thinking about the next day. "Tomorrow Dr. Yavapai will decide if he'll operate me. Tomorrow it will be determine if I'll ever be able to see or if I'll stay blind forever."

Meanwhile Adrien was laying on his bed thinking about the next day too. "Mari...tomorrow your destiny will be known...if you'll ever be able to see again or if you'll stay blind for the rest of your life...but don't worry because if they can't do it I will. I promise you that I'll bring the light back to your eyes."

"Before the doctor comes we want to talk to you." Tom told Mari the next day as they were waiting for Dr. Yavapai to arrive.

"Marinette we thought that it would be important for you to realize one thing." Sabine added. "This is only a test and there could be a chance for you to not get your sight back. We need to be realistic in case the results don't come out like we hope."

"I know that I will get my sight back mom. I won't be blind for the rest of my life." Mari replied. "Today is a big day for me the doctor will tell me that I'll be able to get cued. And I'll be able to see very soon I just know it."

"What are you thinking about Adrien?" Audrey asked Adrien who was spaced out during breakfast.

"Today is the day that the best ophthalmologist known in this country will analyze Mari's condition." Adrien replied. "Today he will determine if he'll operate Mari or not. If he says no than I'll take over and cue her myself."

Tom's study was set up for Dr. Yavapai to do tests on Mari. He checked the results of the tests made on Mari before checking on Mari as Tom watched from the side. "Do you see any light?" He asked as he pointed a blue light at her eye.

"Well I...I think so." Mari replied and Tom's heart stopped in hope of what that meant.

In the living room Ana Sabine Fu and Father Carlos were waiting nervously hoping that everything goes well and Mari has a chance to get cued.

Dr. Yavapai turns off the light then turns it on again. "Do you see anything now?"

"No doctor I don't see anything." Mari replied.

"The first time you said that you thought that you saw something." Dr. Yavapai stated.

"But not right now." Mari replied.

"Than maybe you imagined seeing something the first time." Dr. Yavapai stated.

"Well I not get cued?" Mari asked. "Well you not operate me?"

"It's still too soon to know yet. This is only the first test and there's still many tests that I have to do. You need to have a lot of patience." Dr. Yavapai stated.

"I'll try but you don't know how desperate I am to know if I'll be able to get cued." Mari replied. "I want to know if I'll stay blind forever or not."

"Don't get anxious. I'll let you rest for a moment. We'll redo this test then we'll do more tests." Dr. Yavapai stated. "I don't want to bother you so much but-"

"It's fine doctor. I'll do anything any strength or sacrifice that I need to do. It is nothing compared to what I want which is to be able to see again." Mari replied. "I'm willing to do anything."

"Good. It's great to have a patient willing to cooperate in anything." Dr. Yavapai stated. "I'll be with you in a moment." He went to talk with Tom.

Adrien was pacing around his study. "Could the doctor have finished his analysis on her? Could there be any news? This waiting is terrible." Adrien couldn't wait anymore so he grabbed his phone and called the Dupain mansion.

At the house Dr. Yavapai did more tests on Mari while Tikki walked over to the group waiting in the living room. "Fu you have a phone call from Dr. Adrien Agreste."

"I knew that it wouldn't take long for him to call." Everyone else in the room nodded as Fu took the phone and answered. "Hello?... Dr. Agreste how are you doing?"

"Desperated to know about Mari. Did the doctor already see her?" Adrien asked.

"He's checking her right now." Fu replied.

"There's no news yet?" Adrien asked. "Hasn't she been analyzed for two hours now? I need to know something anything."

"I imagine everyone here feels the same way." Fu replied.

"How's Mari feeling?" Adrien asked.

"Very hopeful she feels like she'll be able to see soon." Fu replied. "I know that you love her so just have faith. Are you at your house?"

"Yes Fu I'm at the house." Adrien stated.

"I'll call you than when I know anything about Mari." Fu replied.

Once again Dr. Yavapai was doing the first test on Mari. "Do you see something? Clearness a light?"

"No doctor nothing." Mari replied. "Sometimes a spark but that's it. Though right now nothing at all."

Dr. Yavapai turned off the light. "Well the analysis is over."

"So tell me you will operate me right? I won't stay blind forever right?" Mari asked with hope.

Adrien was waiting impatiently in the study when Audrey walked in. "Adrien I don't want to seem as not being prudent but were you able to talk to someone in the Dupain mansion to know about Mari?"

"I talked to Fu but he said that Mari was still being examined and there was no news yet." Adrien replied. "He's going to call me when he knows anything."

"You need to be patient I need time to decide if I'll operate you or not." Dr Yavapai stated.

"How long do I have to wait?" Mari asked.

"A short amount of time." Dr. Yavapai stated. "1 to 2 days. I need to make sure. I already know your case and I'll put all the information together so I can decide the chances of curment and if I can operate you or not. Just have faith I'll try to give you a response by tomorrow. "

"Thank you doctor you're a great person." Mari said with a smile. "I have faith that I can be cured and I'll be able to see again."

Tom left Mari sitting on the couch to walk the doctor out and Fu walked in. "What are you doing here so alone?"

"Dad left to walk the doctor out but he said that he would be back soon." Mari replied.

"Yea I saw him walking the doctor out so what did he tell you?" Fu asked. "Well he be able to cue you?"

"Well he didn't say yes but he didn't say no either." Mari replied. "He's a great doctor and he doesn't want to put my hopes up without being 100% sure if he can cue me or not. You have no idea how it feels to be able to be independent to not have to bother anyone. To be able to see. It will be like a dream when I open my eyes and be able to see again. No more darkness just light and all the faces of the people that I care about. My parents you Father Carlos all of my friends and of course Adrienne. I want to see light and happiness not darkness and sadness. I'll be able to dress Adrienne feed her bathe her and when she's older I'll teach her how to ride a bike."

Tom walked to the group waiting in the living room. "Dr. Yavapai already left."

"Did he say anything?" Father Carlos asked.

"He took all of the test results and his notes from the tests he made on Mari. He says that he needs more time to decide and that maybe he'll tell us his decision tomorrow." Tom replied.

"How was Mari?" Sabine asked.

"Amazing she cooperated in everything that she was asked to do by the doctor." Tom replied with a smile. "Though she is anxious to know if she'll get cued or not."

"It will be a great day the day you're able to see again." Fu stated. "I bet your parents will jump of the walls in happiness that day like how I will. I'll be right back I have to do something." Mari nodded before Fu left the room and bumped into Ana. "I'm glad to see you please distract Mari as I call Dr. Agreste."

"Of course Fu you can count on me." Ana said before walking in the study. "You seem happy."

"Of course I am Ana since I have hope." Mari replied with a smile.

Ana smiled happy to see Mari like how she used to be. "I'm glad. I have hope too that you'll get your sight back we all do. Did the doctor tell you anything?"

"No he said that he still needs time to think but I have this feeling that very soon I'll be operated and get my sight back." Mari replied.

"I hope so too but don't get too excited just in case you don't get operated and get your sight back." Ana stated. "And if you do get operated don't forget it's going to be risky."

"I know but I'm willing to take the risk for Adrienne and I know that I'll get operated." Mari replied with hope. "I mean I saw sparks during the tests that must be a good sign."

Adrien was still waiting in his study when his phone rang and he quickly answered. "Hello?...what happened Fu what news of Mari do you have for me?"

"Mari might be able to get her sight back." Fu replied. "You must be more calm now right?"

"Yes Fu all I want is for Mari to be happy." Adrien stated. "If she's happy than so will I. I'll know that she won't suffer because of me. I hope that she can one day forgive me for every wrong doing I ever did to her."

"What do you plan to do now?" Fu asked. "Everyone in this house is with you well except for Mr. Tom and Mari still loves you eventhough she denies it. You need to fight for her."

"I'll see what I'll do Fu. Right now what matters is for Mari to get her sight back." Adrien replied. "That's enough for me right now well I also want her to be happy."

"Do you think that Mari will be operated and get her sight back?" Father Carlos asked Tom.

"I hope so but the case is very complicated Dr. Yavapai will study and review everything for hours before making a decision." Tom replied. "Hopefully tomorrow we'll know his decision. Let's hope that his decision is positive with how hopeful Mari is she'll be destroyed if he decides not to operate her."

"I can't wait until tomorrow comes so I can know the results." Mari told the whole group. It was later in the day and everyone was in Mari's room. "Though I can feel in my heart that the results are good."

"You're doing great keeping your hopes up." Father Carlos replied. "If you have that hope in your heart than we should all have it too. You will see very soon."

"I'm happy for you and no matter what happens I'll be here to help you." Ana stated.

"Daddy says that this famous doctor will decide if Mari will be able to see again." Maya was telling Emilie about Mari. "I'll be so happy if she's able to see again."

"Let's hope that Mari gets her sight back." Emilie stated with a smile.

That night Tikki walked over to Tom. "Mr. Tom you have a phone call from Dr. Yavapai."

Tom took the phone and answered. "Hello?...yow want to see me tomorrow in your office?...alright see you there."

The next day Tom went to Dr. Yavapai's office to get his decision. "Why did you call me here?"

"Yesterday I studied your daughter's case inside and out for hours. Even after I called you and I decided that it was best to not delay my decision." Dr. Yavapai stated. "I made a decision about your daughter's case."

"What is your decision?" Tom asked. "What possibilities are there for my daughter to get her sight back?"

"None." Dr. Yavapai replied. "I'm sorry to be so blunt but it's best for you to know the truth. Your daughter will never see again."

"No I can't believe it...I know that you must be right if you say It with such determination but during the examination I heard her say that she saw something." Tom stated.

"Your daughter was lying to herself...I believed it too until I asked her once if she saw the light and she said yes but...I didn't turn on the light that time." Dr. Yavapai stated. "Her huge hope of seeing again made her think that she was seeing something. The hit from the car damaged her nerves of sight she will never see again."

"How am I supposed to tell this to my daughter?" Tom asked sadly. "She'll be devastated. She really had hope that you could cue her...isn't it possible to try something no matter how difficult it might be? All risks would be taken care of as much as possible."

"I can't take so much responsibility. I wouldn't risk operating your daughter." Dr. Yavapai stated.

Tom drove home unsure of how to give Mari the bad news. When he got out from the car he saw Ana walking over to him after getting out from a taxi. "Weren't you inside?"

"Mrs. Sabine and Mari wanted to be alone so I took the opportunity to do some errands." Ana replied before noticing the look in Tom's face. "What's wrong Mr. Tom do you feel ill?"

"It's terrible Ana. I just came back from seeing Dr. Yavapai...Mari can't be cued...she'll stay blind forever." Tom stated and Ana covered her mouth in shock tearing up. "She wouldn't be able to see even with an operation."

"Poor Mari...but she needs to know the truth." Ana replied. "Who better than her family to tell her. I would but it's not my place to do so."

"It would cost me a lot to do so and I know that it will be the same for Sabine. Fu might exaggerate the situation." Tom stated. "She thinks that she'll be cued it will be terrible when she finds out the truth."

"I understand but it's best that she finds out as soon as possible." Ana replied. "It would be cruel to keep lying to her or keeping it from her. This way she'll learn to live her life without being able to see. We sadly have to accept the truth as sad as it is."

Sabine saw them talking from the front window of the house. "Something is wrong Tom looks so sad...maybe the doctor..." She walks outside and over to them. "Tom what happened did you see Dr. Yavapai?"

"Yes Sabine and he told me that Mari can't be cued." Tom replied and Sabine teared up before hugging him. "He doesn't want to take the responsibility of operating her since there's a 99% chance of it being at high risk."

"And Mari was so sure that she would get positive news from the doctor." Sabine said in tears. "When she finds out the truth..."

"Excuse me I'll go with Mari." Ana said before walking inside wanting to give them time alone to think about what they'll do.

"We need to tell Mari the truth as soon as possible." Tom stated and Sabine nodded before going inside.

"Ana wait if you don't mind we'll like to talk to Mari alone." Sabine told Ana.

Ana nodded. "Of course Mrs. Sabine I understand I'll be waiting here if you need me." She was standing on top of the stairs. Tom and Sabine nodded before going in Mari's room to tell her the bad news.

Tom stayed outside of the room unable to face Mari as Sabine walked in. "Is that you dad?" Mari asked.

"No dear it's me." Sabine stated walking closer to her. "Fu do you mind leaving the room for a moment I have to talk to Mari alone." Fu nodded before leaving the room.

"Where's dad?" Mari asked.

"He'll be here soon." Sabine replied.

"Do you know what Dr. Yavapai told him mom?" Mari asked with a smile.

"Well as you know your dad already talked to him and he said that...Mari you need to be strong...Dr. Yavapai won't operate you." Sabine said sadly. Mari's heart dropped.

Fu walked over to Tom and Ana. "What's going on?"

"Didn't Mrs. Sabine tell you?" Ana asked.

"No she just told me to leave the room because she wanted to talk to Mari alone." Fu replied.

"As you know I went to talk to Dr. Yavapai Fu. Mari can't be cued." Tom said sadly. "She can't be operated. She'll never see again. Sabine went in to tell her."

"I won't be operated now but I will later on right mom?" Mari asked hopefully.

"No dear you'll never be operated. Based on the results of the tests Dr. Yavapai concluded that you can't be cued." Sabine replied softly. "Not even with that operation would you get your sight back. The risk is to high and he doesn't want to take it since he's afraid of hurting you even more. We have to accept the truth but you won't be alone you have us your parents your daughter Fu Ana and everyone else in this house."

"No no it can't be." Mari said devastated. "IT'S NOT TRUE I CAN GET CUED I KNOW THAT I CAN!' Tom walked in the room and tried to calm her down. "Dad tell me that it's not true. Tell me that I can be cued I saw a spark!"

"No dear you didn't see it you only imagined it." Tom said softly. "The car hit caused a cloth in your head and it can't be operated."

Adrien was actually outside of the Dupain mansion. "If I could only see you and talk to you again Mari." Adrien pulled out his phone and dailed the house number.

Fu was luckily next to the phone and he answered in a sad tone. "Hello?"

"Fu it's me Adrien I wanted to talk to you." Adrien replied. "I'm outside the Dupain mansion do you know if Mari plans to go out to the garden today? You know so I can at least see her from afar."

"I don't think so Dr. Agreste I have bad news." Fu stated. "It turns out that she won't be able to get operated after all. She'll never be able to see again. Mrs. Sabine is telling it to her right now."

Though the phone and from outside Adrien could hear Mari's yells so he quickly hanged up and went inside.

With so much stress and worries Tom felt a big pain on his chest and he was going to collapse to the ground if it wasn't for Adrien who caught him in time. "Adrien?" Everyone in the room said surprised.

"Adrien?" Mari asked hearing everyone say his name.

Adrienne walked to him and hugged his leg. "Daddy!"

"What happened to Tom?" Sabine asked worriedly.

"He fainted it must have been his weak heart." Adrien replied. "Do you have the injections the doctor gave you in case this happened?"

"Yes in our room." Sabine stated. Adrien nodded and with help from Plagg Tom was carried to the bedroom.

Confused of what was happening Adrienne started to cry and Ana picked her up trying to calm her down. "What happened to my dad?" Mari asked nervously.

"He fainted but he'll be fine don't worry." Ana stated trying to calm Mari down.

"Was it Adrien's fault?" Mari asked.

"Of course not Mari. Actually If it wasn't for him your dad would've collapsed to the ground and he's taking care of him right now." Ana replied.

After giving the injection to him Tom started to wake up. He sat up slowly when he suddenly saw Adrien there. "What are you doing here? What are you doing in my house? How dare you come here I prohibited you from getting anywhere near my daughter. Leave my house right now and don't dare come back."

Adrien didn't say a word as he left the room. "Do you know what you just did Tom? You kicked him out cruelty after he just saved your life." Sabine stated sternly.

Adrien was going to leave the house when he changed his mind at the last minute and went straight to Mari's room. "Is that you Adrien?" Mari asked.

"Yes Mari it's me." Adrien replied before holding Adrienne who was reaching over to him from Ana's arms.

"Why did you came to hurt me even more?" Mari asked. "Because it's your fault that I'll never see again."

"I know that it's my fault of the car crash but don't lose hope you'll see again. I just know it." Adrien replied.

"Just leave Adrien because no matter what you say I'll never forgive you." Mari said sternly. Adrien sighs giving Adrienne to Mari before leaving the room.

"By arriving to the house in time Adrien was able to inject you." Sabine added. "As much as you don't want to admit it Adrien saved you from dying."

"Don't go on. I don't want to owe that guy anything not even my own life." Tom stated.

"I'm only telling the truth Tom. Adrien prohibited the worst from happening." Sabine replied. "I don't understand why you treat him as if he's your worst enemy."

"You think it's little everything he did to Mari?" Tom asked. "He's responsible for Mari having to stay blind for the rest of her life."

"It wasn't his fault. He didn't know that was going to happen. He didn't plan for Mari to get hit by a car." Sabine replied. "How could you think so badly of him?"

"It's like you don't care about your daughter." Tom stated. "Even if he saved my life I can't forget about what he did and I will never forgive him."

Adrien was pacing back and forth in his study. "If no doctor will operate Mari than I will. I'm going to the United States and specialist in what is affecting Mari. I will bring the light back to her eyes. I shouldn't waste a single second I need to find someone to attend to my patients so I can leave with no worries. I will be there for 6 months to get my doctorates. Then I'll come back and I'll convince Mari to be operated by me so I can cue her."

A few days later Ana went to Adrien's house since Adrien asked her to come since he had something to tell her. Ana was waiting in the living room feeling like a failure. "Mari keeps trying to get away from him but I need to help her forgive Adrien and to admit her feelings for him. They have to stay together."
