The next day Edward and Elsa bumped into each other at the hospital. "Elsa what are you doing here do you feel sick?"

"No I just came for a regular check up I just did some blood tests." Elsa replied. Soon they started talking about random things. "So Jake was your best man?"

"Yes and Mari was the maid of honor." Edward stated. "Adrien was going to take a long time and we couldn't wait any longer."

"I'm glad that you married Roxie. She's a great woman and I know that she'll make you happy." Elsa replied. "I wish you all the happiness in the world."

Without them knowing it Roxie was watching them talking since she went to visit Edward and she started to get the wrong idea so she just walked away.

Marc was leading Mari to the main living room since the family had a big surprise for her. "Come on Marc just tell me already what's the big surprise? You know that I'm the curious type."

"Be patient we are already here." Marc replied as they stopped in front of the surprise.

"Yes but you have to tell me what it is now." Mari stated.

"This is your surprise dear." Sabine said leading Mari's hand to the surprise and Mari felt a male's hand.

"It's not Adrien so don't blow it." Marc whispered playfully in her ear and Mari elbowed him hard.

"This is your new teacher Mari, Nathaniel." Tom stated.

"Thanks but I already have the best two teachers in the world my cousin Marc and Ru." Mari replied.

"I'm a different kind of teacher Mari. I'm going to help you live as a blind person." Nathaniel stated. "To eat to read to write to have a normal life."

"Easy for you to say since you can see and have light in your eyes." Mari replied.

Nathaniel chuckles. "You're wrong Mari. I'm also blind." Soon Nathaniel and Mari were sitting on a bench in the garden. "I asked everyone to leave us alone so I can know you better and you can know me better and so there will be more trust between us." With his white crane Nathaniel felt a bunny near by. "Be careful there's a bunny or rat near by."

"If you can't see either how do you know that?" Mari asked.

"It's easy to learn how to prevent bad things from happening to us." Nathaniel replied. "You'll do it too."

"As if it's hard. You have no idea how much I tried but failed." Mari stated. "I once even fell down the stairs. For a moment I didn't want to continue learning how to be independent. I was afraid of falling again."

Alya went to the best hospital in Paris to do the same test analysis she did in the clinic hoping that the last results were wrong. Marlena and Nino's mom went with her as support. She was so nervous that she was pacing around the room.

"Dear calm down the doctor will be here soon." Marlena stated trying to calm Alya down.

"I can't mom I'm a nervous wreck." Alya replied still pacing around.

"Have faith Alya." Nino's mom stated.

Soon the doctor walked in the room. "Is there any hope? Will I ever be able to have children?" Alya immediately asked.

"Mrs. Lahiffe I'm sorry to tell you that you will never be able to have children." The doctor replied.

"Sorry I don't know why I'm telling you all of this." Mari stated.

"No it's fine I understand you. It's like my heart is the one speaking when I hear you talking." Nathaniel replied. "Do you really think that I never felt afraid of falling?"

"So do all blind people experience the same thing?" Mari asked.

"I don't know but what I can tell you is that the fear you mentioned only exists inside of us." Nathaniel replied. "It's only created with our uncomfortably of what we don't know."

"I think that you're right Nathaniel but it's hard to overcome it." Mari stated.

"It isn't hard as long as you have faith in life." Nathaniel replied. He starts telling her everything a blind person is able to do.

"You're making fun of me right? It's impossible that a blind person is able to do all of that." Mari stated.

"I'll show you first of all a person has 5 senses and we are missing the sense of sight." Nathaniel replied. "Do you find it fair that someone missing one sence can't be happy or have a normal life with the 4 remaining sences?"

"Who knows the worst part of all of this is that I won't ever be able to see again." Mari stated.

"Oh yes how terrible." Nathaniel said sarcastically. "I won't deny that it's sad but there are worst things in life. You'll see I'll convince you that what I'm saying is true. I'll do a lot for you. I'll show you that your suffering for this will be turned into happiness."

First Nathaniel teaches Mari how to fold and unfold a white crane but it's hard for Mari and she gets frustrated. "I can't do this as much as I want to I can't."

"Of course you can you just get inpatient very quickly." Nathaniel replied. "You have no idea how many times you fell when you first started to learn how to walk or how long it took you to learn how to talk. We can't see with our eyes but you'll learn how to see with the 4 other sences that you have left. You just need to listen and pay attention to what I say."

"I like hearing you since you say beautiful things but if you really want to help me than you need to have a lot of patience with me." Mari stated.

"I'll have all the patience needed to help you. I also lived though the frustration you have right now." Nathaniel replied. "I even thought that there was no sense of living for a blind person."

"Because there isn't the only one who thinks otherwise is you Nathaniel." Mari stated.

"You're wrong Mari after some time passed I realized something. Who cares if my eyes can't see the things outside of me if inside of me there's many beautiful things. Do you know how many people that can see are unable to notice all the beautiful gifts of the world? Like the smile of a child the flowers and so many other things." Nathaniel replied. "There are so many people that can see yet they are blind to the beautiful gift known as life. Try this do you hear the birds?"

Mari smiled as she heard the birds singing. "Yes...how do you do it?"

"Just by hearing and imaging everything." Nathaniel replied. "One day I heard a mother singing to her child to put him to sleep and I felt her affection towards her child. Another day I heard a child playing with her dog and I felt so happy. That's how every sence can wake up all kinds of feelings."

"What other things can wake up beautiful feelings?" Mari asked smiling.

"Anything. Hearing people working, the busy noise of the city, and the laughter of the people." Nathaniel replied with a smile.

Soon Mari started to learn how to read by using the method of Braille. It was hard at first but slowly Mari started to get better at it. "See I told you that all you needed was to have patience." Nathaniel stated.

That night Edward and Roxie were having dinner but Roxie was acting strange by staying quiet and avoiding eye contact with Edward. "What's wrong Roxie why are you acting so weird around me?"

"Fine I'll tell you...earlier I went to the hospital to visit you and I found you with Elsa." Roxie replied.

Edward chuckles. "Sorry for laughing but jealousy is a serious illness and it can cause serious damages but you have no reason to be jealous. We were talking about what she missed while she was gone especially our wedding and she said that she was happy for us since she knows that we'll be happy together."

"Well she was your girlfriend." Roxie replied.

"True but you're my wife and I love you." Edward stated.

6 months later Adrien finally graduated with a doctorates in ophthalmological surgeon and he was ready and eager to go back home to Paris since he had a lot to do.

Back in Paris some things changed a bit. Like how Mari was way more independent in her everyday life and Nathaniel became her new best best. Fu and Marianne became very close and after months of denial Ruby finally accepted Marc and they started dating.

Adrien walked in the living room where Ruby Audrey and Maya were waiting for him. "I'm back!"

"Daddy!" Maya ran to him and hugged him.

"Welcome home Adrien." Audrey stated with a smile.

"Adri I can't believe that you back." Ruby said happily before hugging him.

"Yes I'm back in Paris with you girls and I came back to stay." Adrien replied.

"Well I didn't fail you Adrien here's your family safe and sound." Audrey stated.

Mari was preparing salads for Nathaniel and her as Sabine and Fu were near by watching her nervously. "I'll show you that I can do it all on my own." Mari told them.

"Fu and I will be here to watch over you...if you need anything that is." Sabine replied.

"Thanks but I'll be able to find everything I need on my own." Mari stated. "I'm fine with you guys being here as long as you stay calm but that might not be true right I can feel that you guys are nervous and anxious."

Everything was fine until Mari grabbed the knife to cut the ingredients like the lettuce and Sabine quickly went to her side. "I'll do that for you dear."

"Why mom if I am the one cooking. I'm only going to cut the lettuce not my fingers." Mari replied before she started cutting the lettuce. Soon she was done with the salads and she took them to Nathaniel who was waiting at the table. "Here you go. You know cooking is my favorite part in our classes."

Nathaniel chuckles. "I remember that months ago you would always say that you couldn't do anything and I would always tell you that-"

"Be patient Mari." Mari giggles. "I know but I'm different now Nathaniel. I learned how to see with the 4 remaining sences I have like how you taught me."

"I'm glad to hear that." Nathaniel replied.

"I feel better with myself and I don't feel pity for myself anymore." Mari stated. "I only feel pity for him."

"Him? Who's him?" Nathaniel asked. "We never talked about that."

"I'm talking about Adrienne's dad Adrien Agreste. You know the guy my dad always blames for my blindness...I do too even though I still love him but I need to learn to get him out from my heart." Mari replied.

"Why do you need to take him out from your heart? Even if he isn't part of your life anymore you should still keep his memory." Nathaniel stated.

"I guess you're right...the only thing that unites us is Adrienne...but it seems like he forgot about us I haven't heard from him in months." Mari replied.

"So how did he according to you caused your blindness?" Nathaniel asked and Mari sighs before telling him the whole story.

Before Maya went to play with Emilie she showed Adrien all off her school work she did when he was gone and Ruby showed him a file she created with everything that had to do with Adrien's work and his mentions on articles and social media from his work in Boston.

Once Maya left Adrien looked at Audrey and Ruby. "So what's new with Mari? How is she? I want to know everything about her life."

"So you think that I'll be able to learn how to be a fashion designer very soon?" Mari asked Nathaniel.

Nathaniel smiled. "Yes very soon my job here will be over."

"Well nothing too new I always take Maya to play with Adrienne and right now a guy named Nathaniel is helping her live her life with her blindness but that's basically it." Ruby told Adrien.

"That's it about Mari but not it about you Ruby." Audrey said playfully. "Let me inform you Adrien that your little sister is dating Mari's cousin Marc." Ruby smile sheepishly and blushed.

Adrien smiled. "I'm happy for you Ruby and for Mari too. Now if you excuse me I'm going to take a shower and rest it has been a long trip." Adrien goes to his room and smiled thinking about Mari.

"Isn't Marianne a great person?" Tikki asked to Plagg and Fu as they were talking. "She is kind helpful and very good in the garden like the rest of the employees here she became part of the family. Even though she's the gardener she's willing to help in anything that is needed."

"That's true she is also a cheerful and hopeful person no matter the situation." Plagg replied. "Don't you think so Fu?"

"Yes I agree with you Plagg if only there were more people like Marianne in the world." Fu stated.

The next day Ruby took Maya and Teddy to play with Adrienne and they played in the back yard right outside Mari's room. "Adrienne I have a secret to tell you but you have to keep it a secret from Mari. Our dad came back to Paris but shh it's a secret."

Adrienne smiled. "Okay!"

Mari walked over to them holding a plate of cookies. "I'm back Maya and look what I got for you girls. Here take it Maya and give some to Adrienne and only one to Teddy."

"Okay!" Maya took a plate as Mari sat on a chair near them. Maya gave some to Adrienne and one to Teddy.

"So I noticed that you're all happy and cheerful today Maya may I know why?" Mari asked.

"You're right I'm very happy but I can't tell you because it's a secret between Adrienne and me and she won't tell you either." Maya replied.

"Yea!" Adrienne cheered.

"That hurts my own daughter is betraying me." Mari said playfully. "Tell me Maya are we really still friends? Because true friends tell each other everything."

"I am your friend Mari." Maya replied.

"So tell me why are you so happy? It must be something amazing tell me." Mari stated.

"Yes Mari it's something amazing." Maya replied with a smile. "...fine I'll tell you but only because I know that you'll be very happy about it...it has to do with my dad."

"So what have you heard of from Adrien?" Marc asked Ruby as they were talking in the second living room.

"My brother came back to Paris but we have to keep it a secret." Ruby replied.

"But Maya could tell Mari." Marc stated.

"I don't think so Audrey and I told her that the return of her dad has to be a secret for now." Ruby replied.

"Okay but Maya is just a little girl she might tell Mari by accident." Marc stated.

"You're right we should probably go with them." Ruby replied and Marc nodded before they headed to Mari's room.

Maya sighs. "I know that you don't want to know anything about my daddy but...he-"

At that moment Ruby and Marc walked over to them just in time to prevent Maya from telling Mari that Adrien was back in Paris.

Ana was about to leave her apartment but when she opened the door she found Roland standing there. "Roland? What are you doing here weren't you in a coma?"

"I was but I got better over the last few months." Roland replied.

"And what are you doing here?" Ana asked.

"During the last few months besides recovering I have been planning my revenge." Roland replied.

"Wow how scary and what does that have to do with me?" Ana asked.

"You are the one that is going to help me." Roland replied.

Ana laughed. "Me help you? As if you might be better physically but you became crazy. I know who your enemies are and they are all my friends so I'm not going to help you."

Roland grabed her arm. "You're going to help me because you have no choice in the matter and I know how to make sure of it." Roland said smirking before getting closer to her.

Adrien was walking to the fount door of the Dupain mansion when Tom walked out and saw him. "What are you doing here? What are you looking for at my house?"

"It will be useless for you to prevent me from seeing Mari Mr. Tom." Adrien replied. "I'm going to see and talk to her no matter who tries to get in my way."

"Don't be a jerk and don't disrespect me." Tom said sternly.

"Parden me Mr. Tom but I'm not disrespecting you I'm only telling you the truth." Adrien replied. "I still love Mari and I'll see her no matter who tries to stop me."

"You're not just disrespecting me and everyone in this house but Mari too." Tom stated.

"Why don't you let me talk to Mari and let her speak out her mind to me." Adrien asked. "Would that be disrespecting her?"

"The only thing you have earned from her is her hatred to you because she hates you." Tom replied. "Leave and don't come back. You don't want me as your enemy because I'll be the worst enemy that you will ever have."

"Your threats won't stop me Mr. Tom because I want her own lips to mention the hatred of hers like you said." Adrien stated. "I am concious of the harm I done to her even though it was unintentionally and I'll fix it by operating her."

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her." Tom said sternly. "I forbid you from doing so."

"Even though I have the cue for your daughter?" Adrien asked.

Nathaniel walked over to them hearing their argument. "Is everything alright Mr. Tom?"

"Yes everything is alright Nathaniel go inside Mari is waiting for you." Tom replied and Nathaniel nodded before walking in the house.

"Who's that?" Adrien asked.

"That man cares about my daughter like how you never could." Tom replied. "That man is winning her over with his sweetness his kindness and especially with his loyalty. Unlike you he never abandoned her."

Adrien sighs. "It's useless talking to you since you won't listen. I left to become the best ophthalmologist specialist and surgeon and I achieved that so I could come back and bring Mari's sight back."

"Understand that Mari doesn't love you or forgive you because you are to blame that she will never see again." Tom replied.

"I won't insist right now but I'll be back." Adrien stated before walking away.

At that moment Mari walked out. "Dad what's going on? Nathaniel said you were arguing with a salesman?"

"Yes dear an annoying salesman but he left now." Tom replied.

Later Nathaniel was telling Mari a story but she was too busy thinking since she had a strange feeling inside of her. "Mari were you listening to me?" Nathaniel asked.

"Huh oh sorry Nathaniel I was too busy thinking...I have this weird feeling inside of me that after many months Adrien is closer to me than ever before." Mari replied.

"Adrien I have a problem and as a psychologist I hope that you can help me." Edward was telling Adrien. "Roxie is sick of jealousy. I don't know what to do anymore Roxie and Eddie are my life but I don't know what to do with this situation. She keeps seeing things that don't exist."

"Have you given her a reason to feel insecurities?" Adrien asked.

"Never but if it isn't Elsa it's any other woman. If I'm late from seeing a patient she assumes that I'm betraying her." Edward replied. "I'm trying to take the situation calmly but I don't understand how long I can handle it Adrien."

"I'll see what I can do but I need to warn you about something...Roland is back." Adrien stated. "He recovered and is forcing Ana to help him get his revenge but she called me and told me everything...he thought that by taking advantage of her she would have no choice but to help him. What she plans to do is pretend that she's on his side but she'll warn me or the Dupain of his plans."

The next day Nathaniel went to the Dupain household with a surprise for Mari. "Mari I have a surprise for you."

"Really what is it?" Mari extended her hand out and felt something fury and soft. "It's a dog. I haven't had a dog since I gave Teddy to Maya."

"It's a guide dog to help you out. He already has a name the name that he will only answer too Barx." Nathaniel replied.
