In the Red Cross all of the tests were made by Jake as her doctor and once he got the results he gave a copy to Edward as Mari was sent to a room.
Edward gave it to Adrien and he opened it and read it before he started to tear up.
Meanwhile Jake went to tell Tom of the results. "Jake what are the results." Tom asked anxious.
"I'll tell you what's going on with Mari." Adrien said sternly walking to them. "Mari is dying." Tom felt a pain in his chest and Jake along with Edward helped him sit down on a bench. "Because of your stubbornness Mari is about to lose her life."
Tom looked at Jake. "Tell me the truth who put this man updated on what's going on about my daughter? He's the only one to blame for what's going on with Mari."
"It's true that the car crash is my fault and I can't forgive myself for it but the cloth in her head was there since before that." Adrien replied.
"Be quiet Agreste." Tom said sternly.
"You'll have to listen to me like it or not because this is bigger than your ego." Adrien replied. "We're talking about Mari's life. The cloth never went away and now it became a tumor that keeps growing. Mari will die if she's not operated immediately."
"I need to tell you how I feel mom." Mari told Sabine. "I feel inside that I'm going to leave and I can't without telling you how I feel. If I die I want you to take care of Adrienne. She's the only and true light of my eyes. If you ever see Adrien again tell him that I have been trying to hate him for a long time and I thought that I was going to achieve it but life doesn't work that way. I was able to find true love and I got the best thing from it my daughter. Tell Adrien that I still love him like what you would see in romantic movies. I will always love him no matter where he is or where I am. I forgave him a long time ago and he was always in my heart in my memory and he was always by my side even if it was just in my head. The distance was never too much to separate me from him."
"I told you that I don't want to keep listening to you." Tom told Adrien harshly. "Nothing that you say has significance for me."
A nurse walked over to the men. "Judge Dupain a group of doctors are united for a meeting and they are waiting for you and Dr. Jake to discuss the case of Miss. Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
"Thank you we'll be there soon." Jake replied and the nurse nodded before walking away. Tom and Jake walked right behind her.
"The cloth grew and went to a very dangerous area becoming a tumor." A doctor told Tom. "If it isnt taken care of immediately it would mean death for the patient."
"From my understanding operating in that area is a big risk." Tom stated.
"It's true the patient has an equal chance of dying if she is operated or not." Another doctor replied.
"So nothing insures the life of my daughter?" Tom asked heartbroken.
"Well the only thing that would bring hope to the case would be if you had the best surgeons specialist doing the operation." Jake replied.
"That's correct she needs to be operated by a neon surgeon and by what the tumor could cause by removing it a ophthalmological surgeon." Another doctor added.
"And who would be those doctors?" Tom asked.
"The best neon surgeons would be Dr. Woung who's present." Jake gestured to the doctor who told Tom about who should be operating Mari. "And we invited the ophthalmologist who is considered as the best right now." Jake stood up and walked to the door. "The life of your daughter will be in the hands of Dr. Woung and of Dr. Agreste." Jake opened the door and Adrien walked in.
There was a knock on Mari's door before it was opened and Mari could smell flowers. "Flowers? Mom I smell flowers who brought flowers?"
"Who else but the person that cares about you the most." Marc stated handing the flowers to Mari.
"That would be me as her mother." Sabine stated with a smile.
"That's not true I care about her the most." Ruby replied.
"Ru." Mari said happily as Ruby hugged her "I'm glad that you finally remembered about your friends it has been days since I last heard of you. I even thought that you were mad at me."
"Of course not Mari you know that I adore you." Ruby replied.
"Now I'm going to be jealous Mari you're taking away my girlfriend's attention from me." Marc said playfully and everyone laughed.
Audrey pulled Sabine to the side. "I don't see her well Sabine."
"She's tired from all the tests made on her and she was brought in this room to rest." Sabine replied. "At this moment Tom is with the doctors talking about the results of the tests but I feel like something bad is going on Audrey. The heart of a mother never lies."
"Were you really capable of going to the extreme and trick these doctors?" Tom said sternly.
"You're offending me Judge Dupain I didn't trick anyone." Adrien replied. "I tried to make you understand but you wouldn't listen."
"Maybe you don't know the doctor but we do." Dr. Woung stated. "The surgies he has done lately speak for themselves."
"Judge Dupain Dr. Woung and Dr. Agreste are the only hope for your daughter." Jake added.
"No this man won't touch my daughter." Tom said sternly. "I won't allow it. There must be someone else somewhere in the world. I'll pay whatever they want to come."
"This has nothing to do with money." Adrien replied. "Time is against Mari right now. Her life is at risk if she's not operated immediately."
"Fuads like you don't deserve to be among real doctors." Tom said sternly. "Leave and let me be with the doctors." Tom basically dragged Adrien out from the room.
"We know that it's hard for you Judge Dupain but you need to decide because the life of your daughter is in your hands." Jake stated
"No in the hands of God." Tom replied.
"I want to talk to Tom to tell him that it's absord that he doesn't let Adrien operate her." Audrey told Sabine they were now in the hallway.
"The wait is killing me I need to know what my daughter has." Sabine replied.
"I'll tell you Sabine." Adrien stated walking over to them. "Tom's ego is going to end Mari's life. Mari needs to be operated immediately but he refuses that I'm near Mari but her life is fading away by the minute. She's dying."
"I always respected Tom's decisions if he was right or not but not anymore." Sabine replied. "Mari's life is at risk and he needs to push his ego aside because she can't die. You need to operate her and safe her. I give you my autherstion to safe her."
Some time later Sabine was back in Mari's room as Mari was sleeping. "My little girl... My angel... I didn't even have time to cheer you up. To read you a bedtime story or give you a good night kiss. I never had the chance to cue your injuries...I'm not going to let nothing happen to you dear. This is my opportunity to be a good mother for you. I'll give you all the love that you need."
Mari was sleeping peacefuly dreaming with Adrien not knowing what was happening to her.
"I was waiting for you to come back home." Alya told Nino when he came back from work. "I know what we need to do. We are going to adopt a child from the orphanage and raise the child as our own."
"Adopt a child from the orphanage?" Nino asked.
"Yes don't you like the idea? I thought you would." Alya replied. "Even though the child wouldn't be ours from blood we would still love them as if they were. There are so many orphans in the orphanage that need and want a home. There's Mari for an example. Fu cares for her as if she was his daughter and he met her when she was a teenager. Think about it Nino we'll give a child the home they deserve."
Tom entered the room and Sabine quickly took him out. "Since you left I have been meaning to talk to you. Why was Mari transfered to a different room? Keep in mind that when it has to do with my daughter there is no good explanation."
"I know that you are upset but let me explain and don't forget that she's my daughter too." Tom replied. "But I'm doing everything possible to safe her. I have been in phone calls with the best doctors in the world. I have been looking for ophthalmological surgeons that would dare operate Mari with Dr. Woung but no one dared to after knowing Mari's case. They all fear the risk of death that she represents."
"I know of one that dares to operate her and not just that but is willing to give his life for hers." Sabine replied.
"Listen to me Sabine I was able to communicate with Dr. Yavapai and first thing tomorrow morning I'll talk to him and I know that he'll accept once he knows who it is about."
"That's not necessary because I already made a decision." Sabine said sternly. "Like it or not Adrien Agreste will operate Marinette."
"I said many times that no." Tom replied.
"Well I say yes." Sabine stated.
"I don't know what to do anymore Edward." Adrien told Edward the next day.
"I don't understand Adrien Mrs. Sabine authorized you to operate Mari." Edward replied.
"Yes but with how delicated the operation is both parents need to authorize it." Adrien stated. "Yet that man is still as stubborn. A day already passed. Mari's life fades by the second she can die at any moment."
"Adrien you need to have faith." Edward replied. A nurse walked over to them and gave Edward a letter before walking away. Edward opened the letter and read it. "It's a call for the trail that Roland is fighting for the custody of my son."
"Why do I feel so ill mom?" Mari asked Sabine.
"It must be the medicine that the doctors gave you they said that they would be strong." Sabine replied.
"Tell me the truth of what is happening to me mom. I was only going to come for some tests but I was kept overnight." Mari stated. "I'm going to die right?"
Sabine couldn't deal with it anymore and left the room leaving Marc with Mari. "Of course not Mari the only place that you're going is home. I'll be right back." Marc left the room. "Aunt Sabine I'm going to go talk to uncle Tom don't worry I'm going to solve this."
Ana was driving to the Dupain household heartbroken after hearing about what was going on with Mari that she didn't notice that she was about to run over Nathaniel and she quickly hit the breaks barely missing Nathaniel by a second. Ana got out from the car in a panic. "I'm so sorry Nathaniel are you okay?"
"Ana? What's wrong with you? You can't drive at that speed." Nathaniel replied. "This is a public street you can cause an accident. We were lucky this time but could you imagine what would happen if you caused a terrible accident?"
"You're right but today is not any other day. I'm heartbroken right now." Ana starts to cry before hugging Nathaniel. "Mari is dying."
"What!" Nathaniel exclaimed. "No that can't be."
"She has a tumor and if she's not operated soon she'll die but Mr. Tom doesn't want to allow Adrien to operate her." Ana replied.
"Thank you for attending me doctor." Tom said over the phone before hanging up. Marc walked in the room. "Nothing Marc. I talked to many doctors but no one wants to take care of Mari's case."
"Could it be possible that your stubbornness and ego will kill Mari?" Marc asked sternly.
Tom stood up. "One moment Marc I don't permit you to talk to me like that."
"Right I forgot the only one that can have an opinion and decide is you." Marc said sarcastically. "That's why you don't allow the life of your own daughter to be saved."
"It's unfair that you blame me when the only thing that I have been doing is trying to get a surgeon anywhere in the world to operate Mari." Tom replied.
"It's absurd that you are looking around the world when you know that there's one right here in Paris." Marc stated. "Like it or not Adrien is the only one that can operate Mari! As much as you hate to admit it and as much as your ego is damaged you know deep down that Adrien can and wants to save her!"
Mari was sleeping and Adrien was by her side. "Don't worry Mari I'll be by your side to save you. Even angels of God need to be saved and the only magic that we have is love. I'll do everything in my power to save you. I promise and I don't break my promises." Adrien kissed her forehead. "I love you." He leaves the room. "Thank you for letting me be there with her even for a few minutes Sabine."
Sabine nodded in tears. "Please save my daughter. Please don't let her die."
"I'm willing to save her life but Mr. Tom needs to accept." Adrien replied. "Right now Mari's life depends on her dad."
"I won't put my daughter's life in Adrien's hands. She's all that I have." Tom replied. "If he operates her and takes her life-"
"No uncle Adrien won't take her life he'll return it." Marc stated. "Mari is dying right now. If she dies because you didn't let Adrien operate her than you'll be the only one to blame for her death."
Nathaniel went to see Mari but she was asleep so he spilled out all of his feelings for her and the whole time Adrien heard everything since he was by the door.
After a while Adrien went over to Edward. "He loves her Edward he loves her. Nathaniel loves Mari."
"You need to focus on what really matters right now Adrien." Edward replied. "Mari's health."
"I need to talk to him." Adrien stated. "I need to know if they're dating."
"The last thing you need to worry about is if they're dating or not." Edward replied.
Tom walked in Mari's room to see Nathaniel and Sabine talking with her. "Sabine."
"I'll be right back dear I'll go to the alter and pray." Sabine left the room and Nathaniel went with her.
Tom walked over to Mari. "Dad I have been acting brave in front of mom to not worry her but the truth is that I'm afraid. I don't want to die I'm aware that it's going to happen but I don't want to. Please help me dad I don't want to leave yet. Dad I trust you now you're my example. You're the best man in the world who isn't afraid and always knows what to do."
"I don't always know what to do dear and I'm sometimes afraid too." Tom replied.
"Why would you feel afraid dad if you're the best man in the world." Mari stated.
"Well believe it or not I do know what fear is and I'm afraid of losing you. I don't want anything bad to happen to you." Tom replied.
"You always have a solution for every problem dad. Please safe me. Please tell me what's wrong with me." Mari begged.
"You have a tumor in your head." Tom replied.
"So I am going to die... Dad I want to ask you for a favor. Don't leave my mom. She's going to take care of Adrienne but I need you to take care of her." Mari stated.
Alya and Nino went to the orphanage to do the paper work if they are eligible to adopt and they went to see the kids mainly the babies since that was what they wanted.
Adrien had coffee with Nathaniel and they talked about Mari. Adrien asked Nathaniel to try to convince Tom to let him operate Mari but Nathaniel said that it was going to be useless since Tom doesn't even listen to Sabine but if it was up to him he would beg Adrien to operate Mari.
"Mom I know the truth that I have a tumor in my head that is killing me." Mari told Sabine.
At that moment Fu was walking in the room. "That's not true dear. You'll just need to have faith that everything is going to be okay."
"I'm glad that I'm finally able to talk to you Dr. Yavapai. It's Tom Dupain." Tom said over the phone. "I have been trying to communicate with you since yesterday to ask you to help me with a life or death situation."
"What can I do for you?" Dr. Yavapai asked.
"It has to do with my daughter Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Tom started to tell him the whole story. "By the minute my daughter is dying and she is too young to die. I beg you to operate my daughter."
"Based on what you told me the case is urgent and risky." Dr. Yavapai stated. "I have no problem in going to Paris but this is a fight against time so there's a risk that I don't get there in time. I find it strange that you call me Judge Dupain if you have the best ophthalmologist specialist of the world there in Paris. Who's hands are to trust for no matter what."
"Who is that doctor that you trust so much?" Tom asked.
"Dr. Adrien Agreste." Dr. Yavapai replied and Tom's heart dropped. "Dr. Agreste is the best solution for saving your daughter."
"What your telling me is hard to believe." Tom stated. "You're the best in the world."
"I was the best but Dr. Agreste took my spot as the best ophthalmologist specialist and I'm proud of saying it." Dr. Yavapai replied.
"I'm sorry doctor but no matter what you said about Dr. Agreste I still want you to operate my daughter." Tom stated.
"I can do it but keep in mind that your daughter has a higher risk with me than if Dr. Agreste operates her." Dr. Yavapai replied.
Later Tom walked in Mari's room to see Fu and Sabine there. "Good news Dr. Yavapai is coming tomorrow to operate Mari."
Sabine pulled Tom aside. "We both know that the best doctor to operate Mari is right here in Paris."
Tom went to tell Marc and Ruby the news and they had the same reaction as Sabine and Fu. Tom went to the alter feeling alone and defeated he started to pray and a light hit him as a wreaght was lifted of his shoulders... He finally knew what he had to do.
Later Tom went to look for Adrien and found him in the cafeteria. "Adrien."
"If you came to insult me again than I don't want to hear it." Adrien replied.
"I didn't came to insult you I came to talk to you... More like to beg you to operate my Mari and to save her." Tom begged
