David, Priscilla, and Killian sat in the opulent living room of Priscilla's mansion, the three of them sitting across from Henry Mills, who opened his huge storybook on the coffee table before them. Having collected the three people in town he suspected knew the truth and that he felt he could trust, he hoped they could pool their knowledge together to find a way to end the curse.

"So you've had this with you the whole time?" Priscilla asked, running her fingers down an illustration of King Leopold with a young Snow White on his knee.

"Yup. Emma knows about it, but she doesn't believe any of it." Henry answered.

David grimaced, "She's in the book. She's my daughter."

Killian looked up at him, shocked, "Seriously?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Emma and I are...well...dating. Kind of."

"Oh," David blinked. He wasn't sure what else to say. It was another reminder that Emma was adult, who had romantic interests. She wasn't a child and hadn't been for a long time. And he'd missed the time that she had been a child.

Priscilla looked interested, "Do you think if she gave you True Love's Kiss, it could break the curse?"

Killian bit his lip, clearly uncomfortable by the question. "I don't know. It's all very new, and I'm not sure she fully trusts me after our fight at the hospital and the whole break-in."

"What break-in?" David asked sharply.

"Nothing you need to worry about," Killian replied nonchalantly. "Priscilla and I found magical artifacts in Gold's house, so we tried breaking into his shop for more evidence of his wrongdoings, but we got caught."

"What kind of artifacts?" Henry asked.

"Mostly magical potions," Priscilla stated. "We aren't sure what else he may have hidden, but I'm pretty sure he's the one who kidnapped me. Which means he's awake and knows about the curse."

"Like my mom," Henry added. "I know she knows the curse is real, but she pretends that I'm crazy!"

"What are the odds that they're working together?" David asked.

"Slim," Killian replied. "Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen hate each other."

"Slim, unless he's using her for something." Priscilla noted. "The Dark One likes to work through puppets, rather than getting his own hands dirty."

"How do you know that?" David asked.

Priscilla smiled sadly, "I used to be one of those puppets. Until one day, my actions got two innocent people killed, leaving behind their little girl. And I stopped working for the Dark One because I felt I owed her a good life, after what I did."

"Grace." Killian realized. "You adopted her and settled down."

"Yeah," Priscilla confirmed hoarsely.

David looked at her thoughtfully, "You did the right thing in the end. You're doing the right thing now."

Priscilla smiled back at him appreciatively. "I just hope I can save her from this curse and be her mother again."

"Can I ask you guys a question?" Henry got their attention back. "David still has his memories because he was in a coma when the curse was cast, but how do you two still have your memories? Killian, how are you even involved when you haven't been to Storybrooke before?"

Killian answered, "I never lost my memories. I just woke up in New York one day, twenty eight years ago. I had no idea what was going on and had to adjust. For some reason, I never aged and I just wandered from place to place so no one would get suspicious. I found Storybrooke completely by chance, but when I realized what was going on I had to stay to solve the mystery."

"Could it have something to do with the fact that you're the Dark One's son?" Priscilla asked.

"You're what?" David and Henry asked at the same time.

"Trust me, I'm not proud of that fact," Killian muttered. "Maybe so. If there's a blood magic component and my father's blood is involved in the curse, that could have affected me in some weird way."

"There is blood magic involved," David confirmed. "The curse uses Regina's blood and can only be broken by one of her selected blood relatives. We initially wanted it to be Rose Red, because Snow was pregnant at the time. But then Snow went into labor early and the castle was attacked while the curse was being cast. We were afraid of what Regina would do to Emma under the curse, so we selected Emma instead, hoping she'd come back as an adult and lift the curse."

"That's why she's the Savior!" Henry's eyes were wide with understanding. "What about you Priscilla? How did you get your memories back?"

"I have no clue," she admitted. "I spent years living the false life the Evil Queen created for me, like everyone else. I don't think there's anything special about my blood. I got my memories back unexpectant." She paused at looked Henry. "I got my memories back after the Evil Queen adopted you. You weren't in the town beforehand, but suddenly I had my memories back and suddenly you were there too. Maybe those two things are connected somehow."

Henry looked surprised, "You think I had something to do with you getting your memories back?"

David said, "The curse keeps outsiders from entering the town; Emma and Killian were only able to get in because they have a blood connection to the curse. The only way Regina could have gotten Henry to Storybrooke is if she used magic to circumvent the curse somehow."

"That shouldn't be possible with this type of curse," Priscilla argued.

"Whatever the case, we have no idea where Regina would have even gotten Henry in the first place." Killian noted. "Either she left town to get him, or someone brought him in. The first option seems more likely, since I don't think she'd risk anyone finding out about the town."

"It's Emma." Henry said suddenly. "When I was little, I found hospital records with her name on them in my mom's briefcase. That's why I thought she was my birth mother. Because she is. She gave birth to me here, and the Evil Queen took me from her. My mom lied to me. She always lies to me!"

Killian looked skeptical, "Henry...if that was the case, why doesn't Emma remember being your birth mother?"

"It could be because of a memory spell," Priscilla suggested. "Emma could have come to Storybrooke while she was pregnant because of her blood connection. Regina could have used a spell to alter her memories, and maybe even put a block on her mind to keep her from believing in magic. And I certainly don't think Emma would have given up her child to someone like Regina, so Regina must have somehow stolen Henry. It all finally makes sense!"

The others looked stunned by her explanation, but it did make sense. Tears began to spill from Henry's eyes, but he couldn't name the emotions he was feeling. "Emma's my birth mom, just like I thought. I was right all along." He turned to David, "I guess that means you're my grandpa."

David smiled at him and pulled his around Henry's small shoulder. "Yeah, I guess it does."

The moment was bittersweet for them both.

For Henry, I hope that Emma was his birth mother had just come true, but it came with the knowledge that he had been stolen from her. Maybe she had wanted him all along, but the Evil Queen ruined it. And then, when they had finally reunited, the Evil Queen try to tear them apart. He wondered what his wife with Emma would have been like if she had been able to keep him. Would she believe in magic? Would they have already broken the curse? Would they have you been found Storybrooke in the first place?

For David, who was still coming to terms with the fact that the newborn baby he had held in his arms had sprouted into a fully grown woman by the time he blinked, finding out that he now had a grandson was nothing short of surreal. Hearing what had happened to you his daughter where's like a knife to the heart, especially knowing she had been robbed of the chance to raise her son just like he and smell had been robbed of the chance to raise her.

There was no use trying to fix the past, but at least they have a chance to save the future.

A moment passed, the Killian interjected, "Okay, now that we know what's really going on, what's the game plan? Do you still have those hospital records with Emma name on them?"

"No," Henry admitted. "They disappeared soon after I found them. I think Regina knew I had found them and got rid of them. Otherwise, I would have them to Emma as soon as possible."

"What is the hospital had a copy of them?" Priscilla suggested.

"She may have gotten rid of those two," Killian noted.

David thought for a moment, then replied, "We should at least check first. But we can get into Emma's private medical records without her permission. Someone has to convince her that this is worth it."

"I've tried convincing her of the curse, so has Priscilla, and so has Henry," Killian stated wearily. "If the Evil Queen really did put a block on her mind, which seems likely, no amount of logic of reason can get to her."

"Well, she seemed like she was coming around to the idea of magic being real recently. Maybe the block is weakening."

Priscilla frowned, "They usually don't just weaken unless there's something else magical to counteract it."

Killain paused, and thought deeply. "That probably isn't the case. Using magical spells weakens the curse. But...a magical potion..."

"Gold's basement!" Priscilla grinned from ear to ear at the revelation. "He had a ton of magical potions. He must have given one to Emma to make her more susceptible to believing in magic!"

Henry looked confused, "I thought he was helping Regina?"

Priscilla smiled slipped, "Oh, right. But he could be backstabbing her."

"Could be," Killian emphasized. "We don't actually have the facts, just theories. We can't just pick whatever sounds best and decides that's the truth. We have no idea what the Dark One wants or what he's willing to do to get it. It'd be a mistake to assume he's trying to Emma just because that's what we want to hear."

"Killian's right," David shook his heard. "As much as I'd hate to admit it, we have to assume the Dark One isn't on our side. Better safe than sorry."

"What does that mean for Emma?" Priscilla asked.

"I'm not sure," David admitted. "If the three of you couldn't convince her, I don't know how I can."

"What if we don't need to convince? What if we just need to remove the block?" Henry asked.

"That's assuming there even is a block. Like I said, we don't know any of this for sure." Killian replied.

Priscilla sighed deeply, "You know what, let's take this one stop at a time. Let's try to convince Emma to let us her medical record in Storybrooke. If they're gone or don't exist, we think of something else. We can worry about the big stuff later, okay?"

Henry, David, and Killian nodded at her assessment.

"So, who has the honors?"

"I'll do it," David volunteered. "If I don't tell what it's for a first, she might be more willing to play along."

Henry nodded, "We should at least try. Emma has to save the town, but first we need to save her."

Priscilla folded her arms and nodded, "This plan is as good as any other."

"Alright," Killian agreed at last. "Let's see if you fare better than the rest of us."
