Defending a World Welcoming Death

Sun is seen hanging out with Blake and Yang as they are doing a little star gazing with Sun looking through the newest space telescope, he got from Parfet that she made for a little while.

"How's it looking?" Blake asked.

"So far, pretty good and that includes the weird enemy machine just standing there doing nothing." Sun answered as he looks at the large machine.

"If that is from those harvest enemies, then it's definitely not a good sign. My gut is going crazy from just thinking about it." Yang stated.

"You and me both, when something bad happens before it could even happen, my tail always shakes just like it's doing now." Sun pointed at his shaking tail.

"Well, we couldn't destroy it even if we wanted to. For now, we're just gonna have to wait until the captain and the others come back." Blake said.

"I hate waiting." Yang exclaimed.

"I know, if something doesn't happen while my tail keeps shaking then it'll pop up like a snake." Sun joked causing Yang to laugh and Blake softly giggles.

"Hope it doesn't a-peel its fur on the floor." Yang punned causing Blake to groan.

"Damn it, Yang, you always keep killing the mood." Blake exclaimed.

"Oh, you're just saying that because you didn't get your favorite fish dish." Yang stated.

"I would have gotten my fish if you hadn't taken so long in the training room." Blake glared.

While Blake was arguing to Yang, Sun took another look at the space and the strange machine as no one got any idea of what it's supposed to do until the telescope alerted him of something coming to the planet.

"Hey girls, I think something is coming and it's big." Sun alerted getting Yang and Blake to stop.

(Anpathos, Shrine)

"Happy times and hard times, life is full of both, and your people have so much more to experience." Magno pointed out.

"Our time of bless is the moment the Munya arrives, no one among us questions that." Fanieta said.

"Not to sound rude, but that just sounds like your slaves with no emotions like robots almost like the faces you have are just mask to hide it all." Jaune stated.

"There is nothing to fear, this is all for the Munya. The tradition of Anpathos has always been this way." Fanieta proclaimed.

"In other words, you're nothing but blind fools." Cinder glared at the woman and her followers.

Faniete didn't react to the harsh words as she is more focus for the upcoming arrival of the Munya making Magno and the small group of her crew into some deep thoughts, like there is something more than what they are saying about this festival.

"Jaune, thinking it might be the harvest enemies?" Hibiki asked.

"Most likely a possibility." Jaune nodded.

(With Glynda)

"You heard me, the shift changes will no longer be reported to the captain for instead, you all shall be reporting to each other when the time of those shift changes happen." Glynda stated strongly to several of the girls before hanging up.

"Thanks for that, Glynda." Bart sighed in relief.

"My pleasure, it's nice that a little change to the routine can help." Glynda nodded.

"Yo, Bart, it's urgent!" Sun contacted Bart.

"Hey Sun, what's up?" Bart asked.

"Me, Blake and Yang just spotted something that is close to that weird machine." Sun reported.

"What?" Bart shocked and turned on a monitor to see that bigger machine thing just over a dozen miles from the machine and it fires a beam-like light at the machine.

"Oh boy, so that thing is involve with the enemy." Bart worried and quickly made contact to BC.

"Glynda, we got an enemy on sight." Bart alerted.

"I will alert the Dread teams to get ready for battle." Glynda said as she start making calls to the fighting Dread team.

(Back at the Shrine)

"An enemy has appeared." Bart alerted.

"How many are there?" BC asked.

"Just one, but it's pretty big, bigger than that machine earlier like a huge container." Bart explained.

"Could it be a Harvest vessel?" BC wondered.

"Then that rules out what we were fearing the moment we arrived on this planet." Jaune clutched his fists.

"It would appear that your wonderful Munya has arrived." Magno said to Fanieta.

"Are they really here? Finally, the prophecy has come true!" Faniete smiled.

Suddenly the entire shrine started to shake with the light at the top getting brighter and all the people of Anpathos put on their own mask, then walk together into the shrine and up onto the smaller tower as water from the ocean came in.

"What the fuck?!" Hibiki shocked.

"Why is the water coming in like this?" Jaune asked.

"They really put a lot of thought into this. Everyone will be gathered in one spot." BC figured out this part.

"No way, you people are insane!" Hibiki shouted in rage.

"He's damn right. I'm sorry to say, but I have no intention of allowing us to be harvested along with you." Magno glared at Fanieta.

"Traditions forbid us from resisting." Fanieta said.

"But you can't go through with this, you're just throwing your lives away for no reason at all!" Jaune pointed out.

"Yeah, doesn't any of this crap bothers you?" Hibiki asked.

"Not at all, this is simply our tradition." Fanieta said with a causal face that weirded Hibiki out.

"Fuck this, old lady, this talking isn't getting us anywhere." Hibiki said and Magno chuckles in agreement.

"Traditions. Prophecies. Those convenient words are they… for people who can't think for themselves." Magno stated causing Fanieta to slightly glare at her.

"Tradition is tradition, destiny is impossible to change." Fanieta proclaimed as she puts on her mask.

"This is so mess up." Jaune muttered.

(Nirvana)

"Meia, are you and your team ready?" Glynda asked.

"Yes, all systems in our Dreads are green." Meia answered.

"Good, now launch!" Glynda commanded.

Meia and her team flies into the battlefield heading toward the machine and the large container unit.

"This is Meia to all Dread team, our mission objective is to maintain a line of defense. Try not to stray too far away." Meia ordered.

"Roger." The Dread teams responded.

"Man, I'm excited to join this battle." Sun said as he and Rena re riding in their gold and green Vanguards.

"Try not to get too excited, the enemies are fierce as we've been the battle footages." Ren warned.

"I got it, plus this will be a good way to test out the new rocket boosters Hibiki and Gascogne installed." Sun pointed at the back of his Vanguard.

"And don't worry, we'll be right next to you guys throughout the whole battle, and prey we make it out of this alive." Nora added cheerfully.

"Thank you for the prep talk." Ren said sarcastically.

"Alright, now let's go show them what happens when you cross path with Nirvana in a bad way!" Yang shouted of excitement as everyone charges at the enemies.

(Back at the Shrine)

Magno and her group glares at Fanieta as they can imagine she is still smiling through all of this behind that mask.

"This is the correct thing to do." Fanieta proclaimed.

"Are you so sure of it, do you have any proof of that?" Magno asked.

"I don't see any ships on this island. What could people hang onto this scrap of land, what would you even know about this planet you live on, what could youngsters like you know about life? You said this is the most beautiful planet, have you compared this to other planets?" Magno asked some straight questions.

"That was determined long ago. You people arrived here unannounced, now you insult our god? How could you be so rude?" Fanieta asked angry.

"Seriously, you think your precious "Munya" is God? That maybe the most delusional thing I have ever heard." Jaune said upset with these people.

"Captain, I think it's time we leave." Jaune said.

"Yes, there's nothing we can do about these fools." Magno walked away for a few steps and suddenly she fell on her knees.

"Captain!" BC and Cinder worried.

"My back threw out." Magno groaned.

"Don't worry, captain, we're going to stop that thing these people keep calling it God and show them something their so narrowed minds will have to open." Jaune determined with fire in his eyes.

"(His eyes, it's like they're burning even hotter than fire itself.)" Cinder thought surprised blushing.

"Yeah, we'll also make sure you won't die in a place like this." Hibiki smirked and they ran out leaving BC and Magno with Fanieta.

"Well now, what shall we do to past the time?" Magno smirked at the masked woman.

Hibki, Jaune, and Cinder made their way back to their ships and mech where Jura is still there unaware of what is happening right now like the water is raising.

"Hey, we're gonna launch now! Can you hear me?" Hibiki called out.

"Unfortunately, I do, go away." Jura responded.

"Jura, don't you even know what's happening right now?" Cinder asked.

"I don't wanna." Jura whined a little.

"You idiot, we're the only ones who can do this." Hibiki grabbed Jura's shoulder forcing her to look at him.

"Are you really going to throw all that away? Your friends, the crew, all because of how we merged? Aren't they more important to you than that?" Hibiki asked a harsh question that Jura couldn't respond.

Then Hibiki place his hand on her head and bring their foreheads together which is a shock to Jura and a bit surprise from Jaune and Cinder.

"Most people wait their whole lives for a chance like this. You got a chance to save the entire planet, that's got to be something no one has ever done before." Hibiki stated.

"And I believe you could be person too." Hibiki said with a small smile.

Jura felt like her heart is skipping a couple of beats from hear those words, and the thought of the glory for saving the planet didn't sound bad either.

"That doesn't sound bad." Jura smiled and quickly stand up.

"I'll do it! Let's combine right away." Jura said with a new confident and brave face.

"And if I see any of you slacking off, there'll be hell to pay." Jura warned with a playfully smile.

"Woman can sure change their mind so fast." Hibiki surprised.

"Only when giving them the right motivation to move forward." Cinder stated.

(Battle in Space)

"Blake, throw me!" Sun said.

"You got it!" Blake moved her ship fast in a sharp turn that threw Sun's Vanguard forward.

Sun turns on the boosters giving him more speed as he swings around the giant red staff smashing each enemy down in one strike, Ren moves around and slices the enemies with swift movements and perform a rolling attack to destroy three more.

Meanwhile, Bart is doing his best to not run away though the continuing blast from the enemies are hurting him as he doesn't like to feel this way and the enemies breaking through the defensice line.

"We're done for!" Bart panicked.

"Don't be such a coward." Magno said through her comm-link from BC.

(With Magno)

"I've been alive for a long time, and I've seen many deaths along the way." Magno started talking about her past a little.

"Every time, I curse myself for my powerlessness, curse myself for not being able to do a single thing to save those people… The part was so much left to do, so many things left unsaid, so many regrets. When I think of these things, I feel like I'm being torn apart." Magno admitted.

"But even in their final moment, not a single one gave up on life. They were all brave and shining stars to the bitter end, I'm proud to have known them and prouder to have called them friends." Magno said strongly and glared at Fanieta.

"And this is what I can never forgive the fools who relay on others to create their own destinies!" Magno yelled.

(With Bart)

Bart become inspired from the strong words of the captain and thought about himself thinking it was time to do something for himself for a change, like wanting to protect the crew he has gotten do know throughout their journey even when most of them are women.

"I'm not moving an inch from this spot." Bart determined to stand his ground.

"That won't be necessary, Bart." Jaune called him.

"Yeah, move it because we're gonna do something awesome!" Hibiki said.

Just like that, Bart moves the Nirvana out of the way for the Vandread of Hibiki and Jura with the Vandread of Jaune and Cinder in front of them.

"Okay, let's do this!" Hibiki said.

"I'm ready when you are!" Jura believed.

The red Vandread spread out the small gems around the whole and formed a giant green barrier covering the entire planet.

"If anyone thinks they can cover an entire planet like that, I'd like to see them try!" Jura amazed of the power within this Vandread.

"Easy Jura, we're not done yet." Hibiki reminded her of the battle.

The bigger machine combined with the device widen up like it's a mouth and starts creating a powerful vacuum that could suck everything in its path like the cube type enemies.

"Oh, so that one is hungry. Maybe we should give it something spicy." Jaune grinned.

"My word, I was just thinking the same thing." Cinder grinned.

Jaune and Cinder unleashed the full power of their Vandread launching the monster-like left arm stretching is far and far as it got into the mouth of the machine.

"BURN AWAY!" Cinder and Jaune shouted together, and powerful flames burst from the left shoulder all the way to the other end and the machine burst into flames from the inside.

"Hibiki, how about you cool this thing down." Jaune suggested.

"It will be my pleasure!" Hibiki smirked, ready to show those idiots from down below how one can defied destiny.

Hibiki hit a button causing the bigger gem to glow which brought most of the water on the planet to come toward the red Vandread, then blasted at the machine giving it an overdose of water before it exploded.

"Yes, we won!" Hibiki cheered.

"That was amazing, truly magnificent!" Jura hugged Hibiki which he didn't mind this time.

"Somehow, I just don't feel all that happy about this victory." Bart deadpanned.

"Quit complaining and be grateful that we're all alive." Ren stated.

"Yeah, what he said." Sun nodded.

(Anpathos Shrine)

Fanieta could not believe what just happened. Not only did these people come into their planet saying such ridiculous things like their tradition is nothing but lies and blind fate, but now they dare to destroy the fate Anpathos had been waiting for centuries only to be ruin by these people.

"What have you done to our world?" Fanieta asked, frighten as she drops her mask and onto her knees.

"What we've done is set your people free from your destiny. How you will live or whether you die is up to you." Magno advised as she stands up feeling her back is all better now.

"I will NEVER forgive you for the sins you have done against our God!" Fanieta glared at Magno.

Magno can tell this woman is going to hold a grudge against her and her crew for a very long time but decided to humor the woman and gives this one last piece of advice before going back to the ship.

"You see, God never says anything to do, he never does anything, and God doesn't ask for anything in return. They're only supposed to over us, over the little limps that we foolish human beings are." Magno lectured at the angry woman.

"Sorry to have bother you." Magno apologized and left the shrine with BC as they head back to the Nirvana.

(Nirvana, with Jura)

"What do you mean you didn't get it on video?" Jura yelled at Barnett.

"It's not like I had the time to sit around and record it." Barnett pointed out that she was battling the enemies the entire time.

"Alright, just make sure you record the elegant and beauty of my machine the next time. I mean isn't it amazing that it can put a barrier around a whole planet?" Jura bragged.

"That maybe so, but my machine truly had the "Blaze of Glory" feeling down." Cinder grinned.

"It was so cool of how you and Jaune gave that enemy a tummy ache!" Ruby amazed while Pyrrha agrees with her.

"Just like with the other two, merging tires me out." Hibiki exclaimed.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get more suited with time and training." Jaune believed.

"Sure, I guess it's okay." Hibiki smiled a little as he looks at Dita, Meia, and Jura.
