Amelia had managed to sneak in a small power nap before she had to wake up and pack a bag for their trip to New York to find Rumple's son. She wanted to swing by the hospital and see Belle before she left for New York but decided against it, instead she went to the club and handed the keys over to Launce to look after the club in her absence.

The thieves were on edge after Puck was caught trying to find The Apple for Cora. Little did she know Amelia kept the key to where the Apple really was always on her person, and the thing itself was in another realm they would have to pry it off her cold dead body before she would let them near it.

She found the old man outside the apartment building five minutes to noon. He allowed her to throw her bag into the trunk of his car before they let themselves into the building that housed the town's hero's and their grandson.

"I left a thief keeping an eye on Belle while we're away" she informed him as they made their way up the short staircase "She won't know he's there"

"And you trust him? Might I remind of young Puck"

"No need to remind me, old man. I trust them to do their job as they trust me to keep them in a job, they have families to feed. Puck didn't. With Cora around I trust them"

"Then I'll take your word for it" he said as they reached the third apartment as Gold used the handle of his cane to knock on the door.

The door opened to reveal Emma on the other side with a dark jacket on with a red scarf around her neck "Ready to go, Miss Swan?" He asked the blonde

"Almost" she sighed letting him and Amelia enter the apartment. Henry walked into the main room from the bedroom with his with his suitcase trailing behind him.

"Do you think we'll be cold where we're going, or warm?" Henry asked his mother

"I think layers are always a good idea" she told him. Gold looked surprised seeing Henry with his suitcase.

"I thought the terms of our agreement were quite clear. You owe me a favour – you alone" he told her

Emma looked at the older man in the eyes as she made her demands clear "I'm not leaving Henry here with Cora lurking about, so either we both go, or we both stay" she told him straight.

"Then, we'll have to purchase another plane ticket, won't we?"" Gold conceded

The corner of Amelia's lips quirked up impressed with the blondes boldness "I knew I liked her for a reason" Amelia chuckled at the old man's expense earning a glare from him

"Wait. We're flying?" Emma asked changing the subject.

"Don't worry, I'm covering expenses. Even the new ones" he tells her referring to Henry

David overhears the conversation as he comes down the stairs. Handing a bag to Emma. "You're a real gentleman, aren't you?" David approached Gold to have a private conversation with the older man. Amelia stepped further into the apartment to give the men some privacy and found Henry trying to button up his coat, crouching in front of the young boy she offered her assistance to help. He let her as she listened to the conversation.

"Alright, Gold, you're going out there with my family. Just know, if anything happens to them…" Gold interrupted him

"Then you'll what? Cross the town line? And David Nolan will hunt me down in his animal rescue van?"

"I'll be devastated" David corrected him "This isn't a threat. It's a request. Take care of them."

"I promise no harm will come to your family. After all, we have a deal"

"You're coming with us Lia?" Henry asked the red head in excitement; he hadn't been able to hang out with the woman since she had been framed for hurting Archie.

"Yeah I am. Mr. Gold asked me to help. Is that okay?"

"That's great! I mean your great at finding people like my grandpa always finding Grandma" David and Mary Margaret listened to the conversation between their grandson and Amelia.

"Not quite the same, but something like that, I have a little trick up my sleeve that makes it easier I suppose. Go say goodbye to your grandparents we need to get going" at the order the young boy leaves her give his grandparents a warm hug each before the couple approached the redhead

The pixie haired woman didn't give Amelia a chance before she wrapped her arms around Amelia and hugged the red head.

Amelia's stiffened up at the woman's sudden actions before making herself relax "I may have never told anyone but I'm not very comfortable with hugging" she tells the woman

"Why not?" David chuckled out from behind his wife

"Hazards of the job I guess" Mary Margaret giggled as she pulled away from the red head

"Keep them safe for me" she asked the red head "Please"

"Well, if I let anyone hurt your daughter now what was the point of saving her and getting cursed for my troubles" she joked with the pair "Don't worry I'll keep them safe. You have my word" she looked at David who held out his hand to the woman. Amelia grabbed his elbow as he did

"Stay safe Amelia" he wished her, she nodded at the Prince. Much more comfortable.

Sat in the back of Gold's car with Henry as they drove towards the edge of town as they got closer to the border Amelia twisted the ring around her middle finger in trepidation of going over the line. She kept to her seat as Henry scooted himself into the middle of the back seat to speak to his mother and Gold in the front

"So… Where are we going?" the young boy asked the adults in the front

"Logan International Airport" Gold answered the boy

"I think he meant after that" Emma told the older man

"Let's just take things one step at a time, shall we?" Gold offered

"You really think that shawl's going to work?"

"Well, if it doesn't, and I and Miss Montague will revert to my cursed self's, we're all going to have some problems. It'll work" he told the blonde as they drove past the 'leaving Storybrooke' sign and a wave of magic passes over Mr. Gold and Amelia. With is a brief pause as Amelia felt the familiar rush pass her body.

"So?" Emma queried with the older man

"My name is Rumpelstiltskin. And we're going find my son" he answered coherently

Emma looked into the rear-view mirror at to see Amelia in the reflection "Lia? All good?"

"All good here" she sighed as Henry sat back down next to her giving her a sweet smile

"So….You got any cool stories for us about the Assassins?"

One came to her mind straight away but it was a bit too gruesome for the young boy just yet "Maybe when you're a bit older"

Meanwhile back in Storybrooke David and Mary Margaret were getting ready to go find Regina and explain to her what had happen in the last 24 hour's.

Downstairs the former Princess found her husband putting on his holster "You like the holster, huh?" she teased her husband

"I miss carrying a sword" he replied with smile

"Well, it looks good on you" Mary Margaret complimented her husband

"Come on. Leroy has the dwarfs on Cora watch. And Lia's got her thieves to keep an eye out. They've got eyes everywhere, but they could use our help" David told his wife as he made his way to the coat rack. Mary Margaret stood at the front door putting on her coat

"Really? How hard can it be to find a powerful sorceress in a small town?" Mary Margaret asked rhetorically. They go to leave. When they open the door, they find Regina, who was just preparing to knock on the other side

"Apparently, not very hard" David answering his wife's question

"Regina" Mary Margaret stated surprised "You're back"

"I know you think I'm responsible for poor Dr. Hopper's death" Regina started but David stopped her

"He's… Alive" David corrected her "Amelia found him"

Her brows furrowed in confusion, she hadn't seen or heard from the redhead since she left the confides of vault to find someone that would be willing to help them prove their innocence. She couldn't just wait, she never could "What?"

"You were framed" her former stepdaughter told her "Both of you" she finished

"Who would do that?"

"Your mother. She's here" Mary Margaret told her. But Regina already knew that

"But… But that's… That's… Not possible" Regina stuttered out

"When we found a way back, so did she. We were wrong… And we're so sorry" Mary Margaret apologized to her

"I know. But, if Cora's here, then we're all in danger. Please, you have to let me see my son. I can protect him" she told the Charming couple

"He's not here" the pixie haired woman slowly tells her

"What?"

"Mr. Gold asked Emma to help him find his son. They left town about an hour ago with Henry"

"And no one told me?"

"We didn't know where you were. And, to be honest, Regina, I don't think Emma has to run anything by you" Mary Margaret tells her

"No, I suppose she doesn't" Regina replied shaking her head "What about Amelia, I can't find her anywhere"

"She went with them" Mary Margaret slowly told the former Queen "She and Gold seem to have some sort of deal; we didn't even know until she showed up here with him"

"Well looks like I'm the last to know everything" she replied before quickly leaving

She'd never been in an airport before, even in her cursed memories she had always stayed in Storybrooke. Certainly never flown on a plane before. Closest thing she came to flying was she was leaping off the palace, and that was only ever going to be in one direction only. As they were taken through security she stuck near the blonde saviour as Gold and Henry lead their small party through their next checkpoint.

She knew what this part of the check entailed having to remind herself not to bring ANY weapons with her. Gold would happily leave her in custody as he went ahead to find his son.

"Have you ever been outside Storybrooke before, Mr. Gold?" Henry asked the older man

"No" Gold answered

"Are you nervous?

"No" Gold repeated. Amelia raised a curious brow at the man hearing his anger start to bubble she could feel Emma overlooking the conversation between the man and her son

"Are you worried about meeting your son?"

"No!" he snapped at the young boy Henry "I'm fine"

"How about we talk about this later, kid? We're next" Emma moved her son on as they reached a checkpoint in security.

"He gets that from you right, being prickly" Amelia whispered to Emma as she grabbed a bin and depositing her carry on

"I know" she sighs in agreement

"It must be really hard not to use magic, being like everyone else" Henry said continued his onslaught of questioning to the man Emma took off her jacket

He did this to her the night she stayed over at the loft with him while David was under the sleeping curse. Question after question about her life and the assassins tumbled out his mouth one after the other, never happy with the answer she did give him. he had bribe him with the hot cocoa with extra whip cream at Granny's to get him to finally go to bed

As they reached the small convener belt next Emma leant over to Gold and Amelia to whisper instruction to them.

"You've gotta put your shoes in" the blonde tells, making the redhead roll her eye's, balancing herself to pull the zip before depositing them into her plastic box one after the other making her a couple of inches shorter. She didn't need this today.

"How terribly uncivilized" Gold drawls as he follows her instructions. Henry goes through first with no problem she stood in the middle of the airport in her socks.

Next was Gold himself as the redhead kept a close eye on the man as he went to walk through only to be halted by a security guard

"Uh, scarf and the cane go in the basket" the guard tells the older man

"What?"

"Scarf and cane go in the basket" the guard repeats

"I can't" Gold tell's Emma knowing what would happen if he took the scarf off

"You have to" she replies

"It ain't rocket science, buddy, you ever been on a plane before?" a man in a suit behind them exclaimed getting impatient with the people in front of them

Gold turned on the man followed by Amelia teeth barred "Have you ever been impaled upon a cane before" Gold threatened the man behind them holding the cane up threateningly.

"I'll show you" Amelia said as she snatched Gold cane out of his hand and advanced on the man who was backing away from the angry redhead, only for Emma to pull her back by the collar of her jacket, she stood in front of the pair as she looked at the frightened man behind them taking his own jacket off

"My…father and sister are a little nervous" Emma excused their behavior "We're headed to a family reunion. Sorry"

"Father?" "Sister?" Gold and Amelia questioned Emma's excuse to the stranger

"Just put your shawl and ring in the bin. I'll help you get through" she tried to reassure the pair in a lowered voice as Amelia gave Gold his cane back

"If I let this go. I could forget who I am" he cautioned

"We're not gonna let that happen old man" Amelia spoke up calmly making him look at the assassin "I'll go through first" Gold nodded as Amelia gave his arm a reassuring squeeze "I'll show you we're going to be fine, okay?"

He paused looking to eye's as he let himself believe her words, enough for him to take a calming breath to simmer down.

"Okay" he whispered giving her a sharp nod in agreement

Emma watched the interaction closely, they were almost like father and daughter, she secretly cared for him while he for her.

Amelia turned to go through the detector only to be stopped by the guard again "Sorry Ma'am the jacket and ring too"

"Do you want the shirt off my back as well?" she snipes at the security guard as she wanks jacket off to revel her low-cut tank top that showed off her cleavage a bit more.

"Ma'am" the guard stated keeping his eye's on her face.

"Lia" Emma scolded her lowly. Letting out a huff as she slung her jacket in a bin. Her left hand hovered over the ring on her right middle finger.

Here goes nothing

Ripping the ring off her hand and threw it into her bin. Emma saw the stable assassin stumble as her equilibrium went and helped her push her bin through to the machine. Amelia looked around her in confusion before Emma gave her a little push in the right direction.

Amelia staggered through the detector with no problems to be met with her bin and quickly retrieve her ring, sliding it onto her ring finger instead of her middle. The world around her corrected itself as she looked back to Gold through the detector to see Emma and Gold watching her closely for any signs, she had lost her memories

"I'm fine see old man" she panted trying to reassure the older man "I'm here" Gold nodded and took his jacket and shawl off with Emma helping behind him, she watched carefully as he staggered through the machine exhaling loudly.

Emma closely followed him as his bin made its way though the machine. Amelia grabbed the shawl out of the plastic bin and quickly wrapped it around the man's neck as Emma handed him his cane.

"Come on, don't disappoint me now old man" Amelia whispered to him in concern as she waited for him to come to. Gold simply looked up and nodded at the assassin. Both she and Emma let out a breath or relief at the man's recovery and return of his trinket kept him as Rumpelstiltskin.

Emma handed Amelia her bin that held her jacket, shoes and carry-on in.

"Guy's there's a Cinnabon's here!" Henry exclaimed to the adults unaware of what had transpired before

As they waited once again to board their plane Amelia sat next to Emma and Henry after they went through security with Gold on edge after having to take the shawl off his neck, she herself was a little shaken after having to take her ring off for less than 10 seconds. Gold paced in front of them in anger "Do you want something to eat?" Emma asked the older man trying to defuse the tension

"No" he replied

"Something wrong?"

"Stop asking me that. I'll be right back" the three watched as he headed for the men's restroom. Amelia put her hand on Emma's forearm as she saw the blonde trying to follow him, her head snapped to the red head at the sudden touch

"Trust me when I say you don't want to be on the end of one of his temper tantrums, leave him be Swan" Emma nodded in understanding and sat back in her chair and the three went back into silence. Emma looked to her right to see Amelia holding her ticket with her full name printed on said ticket making the Emma snort to herself.

"Something funny Miss Swan?" Amelia drawled

"Sorry, it's just your name. Montague" she states "Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet"

"Well, you wouldn't be wrong" she tells the blonde "Those were my parents' names"

"Wait. You're kidding, right?" the blonde's eye's widened in surprise at the discovery "Your parents are Romeo and Juliet" she whispers to the redhead as Henry overhear the conversation

"And yours are Snow White and Prince Charming" the redhead quickly retorted to the blonde with a sarcastic smirk "And they were, but they certainly weren't fourteen" she quickly tells the woman. She remembers her cursed life having read the famous tragedy, it was her favorite out of all of Shakespeare's work "there's a few correlations between Shakespeare's story and theirs. My father was an Assassin while my mother was a Templar. Enemies for centuries and possibly more"

"Why did you fight?" Henry asked from his seat having become curious

"Different idea's over magic. While the Templar's sought to control magic users' such as Rumple and your mother to take what they wanted, the Assassins sought out to defend innocents from magic users, somehow over the years the lines blurred for some"

"Then how were you born, if you hated each other so much"

"I don't know Henry. All I know was that my mother loved my father that's all that mattered"

An announcement came on calling their flight to be boarded "Hey kid why don't you get Mr. Gold and we can get going" Henry nodded before heading for the men's restroom leaving the pair alone.

"How did that work exactly?" A curious brow rose on the redhead's face "with your parents I mean"

"It didn't. It's no secret of my existence, ask the right people and they'll call me an abomination or half-breed"

"That's not right" Amelia stood from her seat and slung her carry on over her shoulder as Emma followed her

"Nothing's right in the Enchanted Forest Miss Swan. There's even those who say my father forced himself on my mother, but I know different. He risked everything to be with my mother and in the end. It took them both. Something I have promised not to happen to me" she finished as Henry and Gold had returned.

Once allowed onto the plane she found out she would be spending the journey next to the Dark One, sat behind the savior and her son. Luckily, she had the widow seat so she could at least lose herself with the view as they flew to their destination.

Flight attendants walked up and down the aisle' as they settled everyone down for take-off, she glanced at the old man beside her. He looked nervous. He never let his emotions show, seeing his son was a big deal for him. In the time they had spent together he never mentioned having a child, but always felt sympathetic towards her own loss. He knew how it felt to lose a son.

"You good, kid?" Amelia heard Emma asks Henry as he ate his food from Cinnabon

"You kidding? A trip with you, first plane ride, and we're going on a quest like in the book. The only thing that could make this day better…is more frosting" the boy tells his mother excitedly

Emma looks behind her to see Amelia cool, unconcerned that she way about to fly for the first time in her life looking out of the window while next to her Gold looked a little jumpy at the noise of a door closing

"Its going to be all right. We're gonna find your son" Emma tells the man

"I know" he simply replies as she turns back to face forward

"Welcome folks, to Ajira Airlines regional flight 53, with nonstop service to New York City. Our flight time tonight is 42 minutes. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride"

In the pocket of her jacket, she felt her phone vibrate on and off indicating an incoming phone call. Taking it out the devise she saw the screen light up Regina's name. She had already missed 2 calls from her. Shit

"I'm sorry Ma'am" she suddenly heard from the aisle, looking up she saw a pretty flight attendant hovering in front of Gold seat looking straight at her "All phones must be turned off for the duration of the flight"

"Sorry" she whispered as she ignored the call and turned it off before the flight attendant left them.

"I take you haven't told her majesty of your current whereabouts" Gold asked from her left as Emma turned her head so that she could hear the pair behind her. Henry was kept busy with his treat next to her.

"Nope" she answered tucking her phone back into her pocket

"And?" he prompted her to continue

"She doesn't need to know" she tells the older man "At least, not yet"

"Good" he states "Your love for the woman is what is going to get you killed one day. You need to put as much distance as you can, remember your last encounter with the Queen of Hearts?"

All Amelia could do was silently nod at the man beside her. He knew best after all. Love is weakness.

AN: Hello there!

This chapter finally gives us a look into Amelia's background a little bit. If you haven't already guessed from the Prologue but this story is partly inspired by Shakespeare's' Romeo and Juliet.
