"It has been a long time, Kakarot." Vegeta said this to Goku as he strangled the younger Saiyan by the neck. "Did you miss me?"

Goku stared at Vegeta with wide eyes, completely shaken at the sudden change of demeanor. Just a few seconds ago, Vegeta was complaining about pain and burning up, suddenly he was like this. That evil look on his face reminded Goku of the cold and ruthless Vegeta in the past.

"Vegeta... What-What are you... doing?" Goku choked, trying to pry the prince's hand away from him but surprisingly couldn't. He even tried going Super Saiyan but he cannot do it as well. What the hell?!

"Killing you. Isn't that obvious?" Vegeta responded with a sarcastic tone.

"Why?"

Vegeta answered. "It's the same reason as back then."

Goku's brows furrowed, trying to remember what Vegeta was telling him. The same reason as back then?

"What? And here I thought you have gotten over your hatred towards me. What's wrong with you this time? Was it because of Ultra Instinct? It's not my fault that I-"

"Do you actually think you are stronger than me?! Don't make me laugh. Don't presume that you are greater than me. You are nothing but a low-level trash."

Goku stared at Vegeta's eyes. Something wrong was going on with the Prince. He knew that this isn't normal at all.

"You... You're not Vegeta, are you?" he queried with a cold tone.

Vegeta tilted his head in puzzlement. The evil smile still not fading.

"What the hell are you talking about? I am Vegeta the Fourth, the prince of all Saiyans, last of the royal blood, a Super Elite Warrior. Of course, I am me!" Suddenly gripping Goku's neck even tighter, Vegeta hissed. "The real me!"

"What?!"

"Yes... That's right. I am the Prince of Destruction, the legendary destroyer of worlds, the strongest warrior feared by entire civilization. I am the chosen one to bring chaos and slaughter at the wake of my wrath! And I shall begin with your blood as sacrifice."

Goku's hands around Vegeta's wrist tightened. "Vegeta. I know you can hear me in there. Wake up. This isn't you!"

Vegeta grinned at him, a disparaging one. "What are you talking about? I am awake."

Goku growled, "What have you done to Vegeta?"

Yet the Prince was persistent, "I am telling you, Kakarot. I am Vegeta!"

That was correct. This is indeed Vegeta, physically but his spirit felt different than the one who was sparring with him earlier. Was he taken over by some malevolent entity trying to claim as Vegeta's past self?

Goku's rage began to surface and he felt his strength build-up. He shoved Vegeta back into the floor, pinning him down and he growled into his ear. "I can sense that you are not the Vegeta I was sparring with a few moments ago. Where the hell is he?!"

Vegeta threw his head back and laughed a wicked one. "I don't know. Maybe he's inside of me... Screaming in agony."

"Who the hell are you?!"

"I just told you."

"What do you want?"

"I just got it."

"What?" Goku mouthed. What does this entity meant he already got what it wanted?

"-Though... Not completely. He's quite a feisty one. I guess before I begin with my plans, I should be mastering myself first. Oh well..."

With those words, Goku already had an idea. This entity was after Vegeta's body for some reason. It wanted to control it and use it for its evil plans.

"Vegeta! I know you can hear me in there! Come back!"

"Fine, but..." Vegeta stared up above him, grinning like a madman before saying, "Remember this, the next time this happens... I'll make sure to kill all of you once and for all.

"DO. NOT. EAT. OR. DRINK. WHEN. INSIDE. THIS. ROOM. MAKE. SURE. TO. LOCK. ALL. DOORS. BEFORE. LEAVING. THE. PREMISES. PLEASE. RETURN. THE. KEY. TO. THE. RECEPTION. AFTER. USE." then he suddenly chuckled. A psychotic look upon his face. "Found you."

All of a sudden, Vegeta began screaming in agony again. "Ow! Ow! It's burning hot! Damn it, Kakarot! What the hell did you do to me?!"

Goku's anger melted when he finally sensed the evil ki that has taken hold of Vegeta just now was gone. The prince's ki was back to normal as if nothing happened.

Vegeta pushed Kakarot off him when the burning sensation finally and thankfully faded, "Get off me, idiot! Just what the hell do you think you're doing?!" Vegeta was yelling.

Goku quickly pulled away from Vegeta, confused. "You... You don't remember anything?"

"Am I supposed to remember something?" Vegeta asked in annoyance.

"You almost killed me..."

"What?! You were the one who almost killed me with your dirty attack! Stupid Kakarot." Vegeta snarled in an irritated manner.

What the hell was that? Goku wondered. He knew that something was going on with Vegeta since this morning but he didn't dare to ask him what was wrong.

"Are you really alright? How are you feeling?"

"No! I am not alright! I'm annoyed at you!" Vegeta bluntly responded.

"It's not my fault you were not concentrating in the spar. You could have told me you were not feeling up to it. I'm sorry."

"Just how much of an idiot could you be?! I wouldn't have you coming over here if I'm not feeling up to it."

"But..."

"It's just... About what happened earlier. That strange old woman I met... There's really something off about her."

"Old woman? You meant that one you said you were talking to earlier?"

"Yeah."

"The truth is... Vegeta. I didn't see you talking to anyone but yourself when I arrived."

"I told you she has given me that red juice bottle! I didn't really want to take it but she insisted."

"Hm? That's really strange. I didn't really see her, I promise."

"Are you calling me crazy? Huh, Kakarot?"

"I didn't say that."

"Fine. Come with me to the CCTV room! I'll have Bulma replay the captured footage then you'll believe me!"

Vegeta turned off the simulator and left the Gravity Room with Kakarot tailing behind. They went to the laboratory where Vegeta sensed Bulma was. Trunks already left for school.

"Bulma. I need your assistance with the CCTV installed in the front lawn." he told his wife.

"CCTV? What made you suddenly interested with the CCTV, Vegeta?"

"Because this fool in here doesn't believe me."

"Believe what?"

Vegeta sighed. It's not like he was frustrated about Goku not believing what he was saying. He never cared about that. It was the prospect of being called crazy or the like.

"Just show it to us. Please."

They went to the CCTV room to check on the footage Vegeta wanted. They watched as Vegeta waited for Goku to arrive in the front lawn. He was growing quite impatient a few minutes later. He suddenly began to speak to something invisible. Then he walked into one of the bushes to get a bottle of red juice from there and returned to where he was waiting. He continued to speak with no one, until he was staring at an open space with fear and dread.

"That's strange. Who were you talking to back there?" Bulma asked.

"But-"

"See? I told you." Goku said to Vegeta with wink and a victorious grin. "You should see the one in the Gravity Room. You'll be surprised."

Vegeta sighed and told Bulma to check on the footage caught by the CCTV installed in the Gravity Room. They watched as Vegeta fell on the floor, began screaming in agony and Goku panicking on what's happening.

"Does this have any sound?" Goku said.

"Of course. I installed microphones on the CCTV so Vegeta won't have any excuses if I found out his punishments were too much for Trunks."

"Hey-!"

Bulma chuckled. "Just kidding. Here we go." she said as she increased the volume of the video.

They listened on to Vegeta's continuous screams until he abruptly strangled Goku with his hand.

It has been a long time, Kakarot. Did you miss me?

"What the hell?!" Vegeta gasped in disbelief, suddenly remembering the same words he heard from the strange voice in his head last night.

What are you doing?

Killing you. Isn't that obvious?

"Vegeta! What has gotten unto you all of a sudden? Why do want to kill Goku all of a sudden?" Bulma questioned her husband.

"I-I don't know! That's not me. I mean- that's me but it's not me either. I... I have no idea what's going on!" he defended quickly.

"You're not Vegeta, are you?"

"What the hell are you talking about? I am Vegeta the Fourth, the prince of all Saiyans, last of the royal blood, a Super Elite Warrior. Of course, I am me! The real me!"

"What?!" Vegeta muttered along with the Goku in the video. The way he introduced himself was the same way he used to do before his victims back as a soldier in the Freeza Army. And the way he said he was the real Vegeta... For him, it sounded more like himself with his primal Saiyan bloodlust on the surface. The killer in him. The...

"Yes... That's right. I am the Prince of Destruction, the legendary destroyer of worlds, the strongest warrior feared by entire civilizations. I am the chosen one to bring chaos and slaughter at the wake of my wrath! And I shall begin with your blood as sacrifice."

Yes. That one. But why? After all this time, that darker side of him was already gone since he became a Super Saiyan god and his training with Whis... Why would it resurface again? Was it because of the battle with Moro on Planet Namek?

"Vegeta. I know you can hear me in there. Wake up. This isn't you!"

"What are you talking about? I am awake."

"What have you done to Vegeta?"

"I am telling you, Kakarot. I am Vegeta!"

"I can sense that you are not the Vegeta I was sparring with a few moments ago. Where the hell is he?!"

"Hahahaha. I don't know. Maybe he's inside of me... Screaming in agony."

"Who the hell are you?"

"I just told you."

"What do you want?"

"I just got it."

"What?"

"Though... Not completely. He's quite a feisty one. I guess before I begin with my plans, I should be mastering myself first. Oh well..."

"Vegeta! I know you can hear me in there! Come back!"

"Fine, but... Remember this, the next time this happens... I'll make sure to kill all of you once and for all.

Suddenly, the Vegeta in the video focused his eyes on the three of them. His wicked grin widened as if he knew he was being watched.

"DO. NOT. EAT. OR. DRINK. WHEN. INSIDE. THIS. ROOM..."

Vegeta and Bulma were suddenly confused by what the Vegeta in the video was muttering about, as if he was reading something right behind them. Bulma has never felt such terror as she was familiar with the words he was saying.

"Oh my God..." Bulma whined.

"...MAKE. SURE. TO. LOCK. ALL. DOORS. BEFORE. LEAVING. THE. PREMISES..."

Bulma slowly turned around with a terrified gaze to see the signage on the wall behind them. The words printed on it being exactly the same as what Vegeta was saying in the video.

"PLEASE. RETURN. THE. KEY. TO. THE. RECEPTION. AFTER. USE."

Vegeta's jaw dropped when he realized the same thing and for the first time in his life, felt freaked out of himself. Goku was even more surprised.

The three of them all turned back to the video playing before them...

"Found you."

The lights suddenly went off.

"What do you wish to know?"

The fortune teller wearing a dark cloak with hood asked the couple before her. Bulma dragged Vegeta into this tent in the amusement park while Trunks was busy shooting arrows in an arcade game during their family vacation. (Refer to Dragon Ball Super Episode 2) Both of them knew that this is just a fun game just like the rest in the amusement park.

Vegeta was busy looking around the things around him as if there would be something that would bring danger to him and Bulma. He sat next to his wife who was pondering which one to choose between learning about their previous lives or their future. Bulma always loved the mystery of the future so she didn't like it when she gets spoiled with what would happen so she chose the latter.

While the fortune teller was shambling through her things, Bulma asked her husband in a quiet tone, "Hey, Vegeta. Do you believe in reincarnation?"

"Tch! What kind of question is that?" Vegeta answered nonchalantly, looking at her oddly. "Piccolo once told me that when a person dies, the soul of an impure one will be cleansed of all its memories and will be reincarnated into a new being."

"Really? Piccolo told you that?"

"Yeah, that time while I was fighting Majin Buu."

"You know, I heard that a soul has four lives. I wonder how many lives we still have."

"How should I know?"

The fortune teller returned her attention to her guests, holding a magnifying glass on her hand.

"So you want to know about your previous lives, eh?" said the old woman, moving her magnifying glass towards them as if she was having a hard time seeing them. "You," she called Bulma's attention. "You used to be a Queen six hundred years ago. A beautiful Queen with the abilities of a shaman who entices her people with powerful magic and sorcery."

Vegeta stifled his laughter. No wonder why he always thought Bulma was a witch who had enchanted him to fall in-love with her because of her queen-like features and personality.

"Woah," Bulma gasped in disbelief before she smirked at her flustered husband next to her. "Not bad. No wonder why my beauty and brains are bewitching enough for me to entice a royal prince." she winked at him.

Vegeta leaned into her ear and growled, "Now I am able to confirm that you have indeed put a spell on me so you can be my mate, you witch."

Bulma laughed, playfully pushing him off her. "Now, I'm curious what you are in your previous life." she turned her attention back to the fortune teller. "Can you tell us what he was in his previous life?" she asked the woman.

The fortune teller nodded and focused her magnifying glass to Vegeta's scowling face.

Suddenly, her face paled with pure terror. The couple looked at each other, wondering what just happened.

"Uhm... Are you okay?" Bulma asked in concern of the old lady, who continued to become terrified. She turned to Vegeta and asked, "You didn't scare her, did you?"

"I did nothing." Vegeta defended.

The old lady dropped her magnifying glass and suddenly knelt down before Vegeta, begging for his mercy and asking for forgiveness.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please forgive me! I didn't mean to offend you! Please have mercy on me!"

"What are you talking about now?" Vegeta growled, causing the old woman's breath to hitch in fright.

Bulma told Vegeta to step out of the tent for a moment. Vegeta defended that he didn't do anything. Bulma said that she knows about that and asked him to look for Trunks. He reluctantly obeyed.

When Vegeta stepped out of the tent, Bulma asked the old woman what she saw in her husband that made her so terrified of him.

"I know he has a scary face but please don't be terrified of him." Bulma said. "What did you see?"

The old woman's terrified grey eyes turned to hers and said, "Your husband used to be an ultra powerful deity who used his divine powers to punish those who get in his way. He was a righteous one to be exact until he has sealed within him the amanojaku, a spirit of darkness that feed off the fear and evil desires of the heart. The amanojaku had inflicted its influence to his people, causing them to become evil. The deity fought valiantly against his people, hoping to bring them back to their senses with his power. However, he was lacking in time. In order to stop the chaos, the deity made a deal with amanojaku in order for him to seal the main spirit into himself before he was killed by his possessed people."

Bulma felt as if that story was kind of familiar to her. Where did she hear such a tale again? She pondered to herself.

The old woman leaned into her ear and said, "Be careful when you're around him. His righteous spirit is the dominant one among the two as of now. We have no idea when the Amanojaku will resurface again."

Bulma shot her eyes wide open with a long gasp. She found Vegeta looking down at her anxiously as she lay in his arms. Panting heavily, she saw him reaching out for a glass of water given to him by their son.

"Are you alright?" he asked her as he helped her sit upright and drink from the glass. She was so thirsty. "You passed out on us in the CCTV room. Did the footage in the Gravity Room terrified you enough for you to pass out on me like that?" and then he chuckled.

Bulma looked around her and realized that Vegeta brought her in the balcony. Confused, she tried to recollect the events in the CCTV room, "You tell me. Were you trying to play a prank on me and Son-kun? If that's the case then that's one good prank."

"What am I? A child?" Vegeta said with a pout. "To be honest, even I was surprised of what we have seen. I have no recollection of what happened. I don't even understand why I would do that to Kakarot."

"You said that you still wish to kill Son-kun."

"I'm sure that I don't have any desire such as that-or anything that I used to have, as far as I know."

She just stared at him for a moment, finding any traces of that terrifying look of a ruthless bloodthirsty monster she saw upon his face in that creepy video. All she saw in there was worry. She reached out to touch his face, cupping her hands on his cheeks.

"Hey, Vegeta. For some reason, I wanted to see you in your Super Saiyan god form. Can you transform for me?" she asked him.

He looked at her oddly, wondering why she suddenly wanted to see his red haired form. "Why?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe I just want to see your beautiful red hair and the blazing fire in your eyes."

Vegeta pulled away from her and hesitantly obeyed, "Okay."

He closed his eyes and concentrated within himself, calling forth the powers of a Saiyan deity, calming his mind and his heart in the process. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he tilted his neck left and right. His lips twitching in concentration.

"Hmmm... Uhhmmm... That's weird. I cannot feel it." he muttered to himself. He opened his eyes in surprise at himself. "Is this because of Moro?!" he gasped.

"What's the matter?" Bulma asked in concern.

He turned to her, his worry even more obvious. "I... I can't do it. I don't feel my Super Saiyan god powers at all. I can at least turn into a Super Saiyan but not Super Saiyan god and it's subsequent transformations. What's wrong with me?" he looked down at his hands in confusion.

'Just as I thought.' Bulma pondered to herself. She reached out to him and said, "Calm down, Vegeta. Let's ask Whis about what's happening with you, okay?"

"Yes, that would be a good idea. Call him, Bulma." he agreed.

She nodded at him. "Yes, I will. Just stay there, okay?"

Bulma stood up and entered the compound, going straight to her laboratory to look for that sphere shaped device Whis has given her to use to communicate with him.

Meanwhile, Vegeta sat at the bench in the balcony, trying to figure out the reason for such a problem. Why can't he tap into his Super Saiyan god powers? It feels the same as when he was fighting Moro. Is this his doing? But he was destroyed by Kakarot, right? Did that fool fail? No, he was sure that Moro was completely obliterated.

Then why?

"Don't think that just because you were able to grasp the powers of a god meant that you don't have any impurities any longer. I was always here all along, inside of you... Waiting for a chance to resurface once again. Believe what you want but know this. Of all things, you cannot lie to me. I know every single thing about you. Your true feelings, your true power, your regrets, your ambitions, your rage, even your innermost desire. Do you honestly think I have no idea what you were thinking while you were watching Kakarot's back after he has defeated Moro. You were foolish enough to give him that win. You had the chance to become the strongest and you ruined it by entrusting everything on that fool. That anger, your regret, the jealousy within you... It's making me stronger..."

He remembered the words he heard in his mind while looking at his creepy reflection in the mirror last night. What does he mean by that? He initially thought that he was hallucinating at that time but watching the footage of the CCTV about the sparring he had with Kakarot in the Gravity Room gave him the chills.

He wondered what's going on with him.

"Hello! How are you doing, Miss Bulma? Do you have another sumptuous meal to offer?" Whis cooed at the crystal as soon as he answered Bulma's call.

"Whis, something's going on with Vegeta and I need you to come over to check on him." Bulma said.

"Oh? What's up with Vegeta-san?" asked the guide angel to the God of Destruction of Universe 7.

"He's been acting odd since the fight with Moro ended. He had a nightmare last night, which we both passed up as just a mere dream but... The same night I heard him talking by himself in the bathroom. This morning, Son-kun also found him talking to something invisible and just now... While sparring with Son-kun, he suddenly turned into a completely different person. He almost killed Son-kun in the gravity room. When he came back to his senses he doesn't remember anything. I asked him to turn into a Super Saiyan god and he said he cannot do it. We already checked the CCTV footage and goodness, it was creepy."

Beerus suddenly appeared next to Whis,"You're saying Vegeta cannot turn Super Saiyan God?"

"Yeah. That's what I just said." Bulma confirmed.

"Then his heart has become impure." Beerus declared.

"What?"

"He's probably having some impure thoughts in his heart and mind. Perhaps the reason why he tried to kill Goku in the Gravity Room. But... You're saying he doesn't remember anything?"

"Yeah. I can show you the footage if you come over here. I will also prepare a feast for you. Just please, come over and talk to Vegeta."

"Oh I am going to talk to him, sure. We're coming over." Beerus growled.

"See you!" Whis said.

Vegeta suddenly remembered the old lady he talked to while waiting for Kakarot in the front lawn. He was sure she was the one who gave the bottle of red juice to him, yet in the CCTV footage he was the one who picked it up. It also appeared that he wasn't talking to anyone at all. Plus, the footage in the Gravity Room gave him the creeps. It was as if he was possessed by some evil entity... Is that the reason why he cannot tap into his Super Saiyan god powers? Did the old woman do this to him? Just who is that spirit in the first place?

He knew he had to act. If Kakarot and Bulma won't believe him about the woman, then he'll have to go on his own. Perhaps, the bottle of red juice would help him locate the woman.

He went back to the Gravity Room to get the bottle of red juice he left by the counter. Once he had his hands on it, he noticed something about its content that he didn't observe earlier. The deep crimson liquid inside the clear bottle was viscous and Vegeta's eyes narrowed because it reminds him of one thing that he used to crave when he was younger.

Blood.
