After the news about Regina's trigger, she had to get out of the apartment even if it risked her own neck, she was going to die anyway, might as well be at the old man's hands. Climbing out of Davids truck once they had reached the park where Henry was being watched over by Granny and her trusty crossbow. She followed the Charming's to find Gold already there keeping his distance from his grandson and his guard unaware of the events that had transpired over the last few hours
"Gold" David called out to the man as Emma headed to Henry "What are you doing here?"
"Well, my son made it clear I'm to stay away from him, so I'm spending some time with my grandson instead" he explained to the Charming couple and Amelia seeing the cuts and bruises that littered her face "Ah, Miss Montague I wondered where you had gotten to, I presume the men who did that to your face are no longer in the land of the living"
"Unfortunately for them they're still alive, a little bruised and tied up but still very much alive" the Charming family watched the interaction before Amelia looked towards them "You guys go ahead, I've got this" the others nodded and walked over to Henry leaving the redhead with the older man
"I've got some bad new. You might wanna sit down" she started with folded arms
"Not interested" he told the Assassin
"It's about your son" she continued as they saw Emma sit Henry down on a bench with Mary Margaret and David close by for support.
"Yeah, what about him"
There was no easy way of saying it. Rip the band-aid "Tamara shot him"
Mr. Gold looked back at the red head in shock "What? He's dead?"
"They used a bean to open a portal. Neal was hurt, he fell through. He's gone. I'm sorry"
"Bae wasn't supposed to die" he said in remorse just as she saw Henry clutch to his mother behind Gold on the bench
"Greg and Tamara—they took something from Regina—a magical trigger. A fail-safe in the curse that could destroy Storybrooke. If they activate it, it's a self-destruct. Everyone not born in this world will die. We need your help" Gold looked visibly shaken at the news of his son, she had never seen him like this, that scared her the most.
"No" he tells her plainly
"No?" Amelia scoffed in disbelief "They killed your son in cold blood, and you don't wanna stop them?"
"They didn't kill my son. I did" he admitted with tears in his eye's "I brought magic to this world to find Bae, and now he's dead. Magic always has a price, and this—this is it. But I'm prepared to pay it"
"But... We'll die. You'll die!" Amelia started to panic at the man's indifference to his own existence and his willingness to die
"Well, I've made my peace with that. I suggest you do the same Miss Montague" at that he walks away, from the woman, leaving her visibly shaken. Amelia met David and Mary Margaret's eyes and shook her head at them before winging her hands through her short hair.
Shit
David led them back into the loft with Henry running into the apartment to greet his adopted Mother in a tight embrace she stood in between David and Emma as the apartment violently shook causing tableware to fall onto the ground and smash. Amelia held out her arms to keep her balance as the rumbled finally subsided, even with her balance she struggled to stay on her feet.
Emma looked at Regina in worry "Regina, was that.."
"Yes. The diamond was activated" Regina confirmed
Henry looked up to his mother "So we're all gonna die" he asked her in panic
"You were born here, so you'll live" she tries to reassure her son
"But.. I'll be alone"
"I'm so sorry"
"It's not gonna happen, I'm not gonna let it" Emma tells her son before looking to Regina "You did this, now make it stop" she tells the former Evil Queen
"I can't, there's no way"
"WELL, FIGURE IT OUT!" Emma yells back at the woman in anger "It's your fault!"
"STOP!" Henry tells his birth mother "I already lost my dad. I don't wanna lose anybody else. We have to work together" While he is talking, Hook enters, unseen by everyone else.
"From the mouths of babes, I'd say the lad has a point" David and Amelia don't waste a moment before whirling around to send one closed fist after the other onto the pirates face
"That was for the last time we met" David spat at the man
"And that was for my apartment" the redhead added in equal vigor shaking out her hand in pain
"Bloody hell" Hook mutters in pain as David draws gun at the pirate
"Tell us why you're here before I use something other than my fist" Amelia darkly threatens Hook
"I think threatening to kill me seems a bit redundant when we're all about to die anyway" Hook retorts at the Assassin
"No thanks to you" Emma speak up "Regina just told us you were working with Tamara and Greg to get your revenge"
"Well, that was before they told me I had to die to get it" Hook tells them
"You'll die soon enough if I have something to do with it" Amelia stepped forward making the pirate flinch back from the Black Widow
"We don't have time for this" Emma reminded the Assassin, halting her advance on the pirate "We have a real problem"
"Which is why I'm here, 'cause staring death in the face has made me realize if there's one thing I want more than my revenge, it's my life" Hook informs them "So should we start this thing now, and then resume bickering?"
"There is no stopping it" Regina tells them "And the best thing I can do is slow it down, but that will only delay the inevitable"
"It'll give us the time we need" David announced to the group
"The time for what?" Mary Margaret questioned her husband
"Steal back the beans. Use them to get everyone into the Enchanted Forest before Storybrooke is gone" he explained
"How? We don't even know where Greg and Tamara are" Amelia spoke up
"Well, I do. I can help" Hook offered
"Help yourself. You'll take them and leave us all behind" Emma accused the pirate "Why should we trust you?"
"No, we won't have to" David tells his daughter "I'll go with him, and if he tries anything, I'll shoot him in the face"
"Quite hostile, aren't we?" Hook comments
"Just being clear"
"I'll take Regina to slow down the diamond, give you guys time" Emma tells the group "Mary Margaret, Amelia, take Henry, and gather everyone. Make sure they're ready to go as soon as we have those beans" Mary Margaret left with Amelia with a hand on the young boys shoulder Henry begin to exit only for Regina to stop her son and the red head
"Henry, before you go, I'm sorry for what's happened. I tried to be the person that you wanted me to be and I failed. But I won't let you be alone. You just know that I love you" Regina's brown eye flicked up to Amelia's green eye's as if she was saying those words to them both
"I love you, too" Henry tells his mother before embracing her, and then they go their separate ways. Amelia could only silently nod at Regina in a quick goodbye before following Mary Margaret and Henry out of the apartment building
"The things we do for our children..."
Once outside they caught up to Mary Margaret ready to gather everyone only for Amelia to stop Henry with his grandmother watching on "Lia?" Henry questioned the woman's as she crouched down to his eye level
"Do you remember what I said about your family's faith?" he nodded remembering as if it was yesterday when she promised to do everything to get his grandmother and mother back "I need you to have that faith in me again, can you do that?"
"I do" the red head gave the boy a tight-lipped smile before hugging the young boy holding his head loving as he wrapped his arms around her neck. She knew what she had to to save this town, to save him, even if it killed her.
"You are everything I wished for my own son" she tells him loud enough for Mary Margaret to hear "Thank you" she whispered before placing a loving kiss on the crown of his head before letting the boy go.
Mary Margaret didn't get a chance to question the woman about what she had told her grandson before running in the opposite direction
The Apple had to be somewhere important to her. Not close by but not to far away. Hidden in plain sight. But where could she start? Her legs seemed to take her to the graveyard where she rushed by each headstone one after the other to see what name she would recognize hoping it would lead her to where Rumple had hidden her Apple. She almost sprinted through each row until one name made her skid to a stop on the grass.
Iago
Master of Weapons
"Son of a bitch" she cursed turning on her sixth sense the world went dark around her as seven other headstones including Iago's that were scattered thought out the graveyard shone gold. She saw the pattern straight away. It was a trail to where she needed to be. Two or three rows behind Iago's headstone another head was lit up.
Pushing her feet forward she walked through the rough grass to the next;
Tybalt
Master of Thieves
She continued as she found each head stone that belonged to each of her former Brother's, eerily in the order she killed them in.
Richard III
Master of Mercenaries
Ophelia
Mistress of Stealth
Claudius
Mentor of the Brotherhood of Assassin's
But she became confused as she saw a set of three headstones sat next to the other in a row. Slowly approaching the grouped stones she stood in the middle of the group she saw there were more than three that she needed to see before finding the Apple to help Regina. The names that broke her heart the most;
Juliet Capulet
Romeo Montague
Master of Ships
Captain John Smith
Thomas Smith
Amelia Montague
Her ledger was dripping red. All that blood on her hands. She was the common factor in all of these headstones. How could she ever wipe out all that blood?
Fear. That's what she felt in that moment staring at her own grave.
Well if she was going to die, she would going to do it trying to same at least one person. Shaking her head names the headstones suddenly changed back to their original owners's name. It was an illusion.
There was only one thing in all the realms that did that. Looking up she suddenly found herself stood in front of a stone mausoleum with the engraving of interlocking antlers at the top of the door. This was the place.
Letting herself in she was greeted with a stone tomb that took centre stage of the crypt.
HENRY MILLS
BELOVED FATHER
"Oh Henry" she sighed in in grief. The one she missed the most. The one that was more worthy than her in every way.
"There's nothing you could've done child" his voice reverberated through the crypt, looking to her left she saw the man himself stood next to her, looking the same way he looked back home. Another illusion. The Apple was here and it wanted to play tricks on her like it did the first time
"I'm so sorry" she whispered to the man she came to care for. He was the only one that treated her like the human she was underneath the Black Widow. The one that grieved for the life that she lost, he saw through all of the darkness.
"I think we both know she would have never have used your heart, given the choice again" the illusion tells her "And you could never do the only thing that would have stopped her"
The surroundings around them suddenly changed as a light engulfed the pair. The walls around them changed as she found herself back in Snow and Charming's castle twenty eight years ago.
She stood in the middle of ten or so dead knights, down that hall was the Evil Queen in all her glory.
"How did I know you'd do this" her voice reverberated in the illusion as the Widow pullout out her sword from a guards stomach to face the Queen
"Vengeance has consumed you, I wont let it consume me" she said to her Queen taking a fighting stance
"So be it" The Evil Queen growled summoning a fireball in her hand
So remembered how this played out, with her on her back unable to make the killing blow. The vision shifted to show exactly that with the Queens foot on her chest as she refused the fight her
"Just tell me why now?" the Queen asked from above, the hurt in her eyes made her heart break
"She's innocent" Amelia forced out of her teeth as she felt the Queens foot press into her chest making her groan out in pain
"So was Daniel. We could have had our happy ending in the new world"
"We could have had our happy ending in Monteriggioni, you stopped yourself from it. You are your own worst enemy Regina"
"It's your Majesty" Regina sneered pushed her heel into her lover's chest
Only this time instead of letting the Queen go, the Widow turned the tables grabbing her foot, she quickly wrestles the woman onto not allowing the Queen to breathe, a hidden blade slide out of her gauntlet, sinking the sharp blade into the Queen's heart. Regina could only gasp in shock as her chest flared up in pain.
"I'm sorry" the assassin whispered above her as she gasped for breath "I'm so sorry" the tears fell freely from the redheads eyes as she watches the light slowly leave her eyes until her body falls limp onto the floor as Amelia's screams of anguish could be heard from other side of the castle
The grey walls of the crypt returned around them as the same tears fell from the redhead as she stared at the space the illusion showed her. She knew she could do it, she could've stopped the Queen in her tracks, but something in her gave up the fight and let her win. Welcoming the curse instead of fearing it.
"Why didn't you stop her ?" 'Henry' asked her
"The same reason you let her take your heart. Because you believed she could change, like I could"
"Like you already have" he corrects her with a gentle smile "You know why you sought out the Apple, now do it"
At that the assassin pushed herself forward to examine the stone surface of the coffin her fingers dusted over the roughness until she found the circular slot she knew was the keyhole. Snatching the leather cord off her neck she gently places the stone pendent into it slot, fitting perfectly into its place only fro nothing to happen. After a beat in the half-dark the pendant starts to turn by itself as she hears something inside the coffin move until a square piece of lid suddenly popped up making the woman jump and a golden light shone from the compartment hiding within the coffin.
With torch in hand Emma led Regina through the Storybrooke mines as they got closer and closer to the trigger that would destroy the magical town "I can feel it" Emma tells the older woman "It's like the oxygen's being sucked out of the air"
"Not the oxygen. The magic" Regina correct her as they turn a corner to find the black diamond lit up and glowing brightly
"There it is. Once it stops glowing, it's destruction is achieved. And then... Well, then we'll see the real carnage" Regina rounded the trigger so that it floated between her and the saviour "I'll try to contain its energy as long as I can"
"Won't be long. We'll have the beans soon. We can get the hell out of here" Emma tells the woman
"Slowing the device... It's going to require all of the strength I have"
"You're not coming with us, are you?" Emma realized "When you said good-bye to Henry, you were... saying good-bye"
"He knows I love him, doesn't he?
"Regina, no. There has gotta be another way! What about Amelia, she'll be crushed"
"She knows what I'm doing, she always has" she tells the blonde "You were right, you know. Everything that's happening, it's my fault. I created this device. It's only fitting that it takes my life"
"What am I supposed to tell Henry?"
"Tell him that in the end, it wasn't too late for me to do the right thing"
"Regina, please..." Emma plead to the woman
"Everyone looks at me as the Evil Queen, including my son. Let me die as Regina" Emma begins to exit, but then turns around for one final plea
"Regina—" But it goes ignored as begins slowing the trigger with her magic. With her head spinning she almost ran through the winding tunnels until she found daylight once again coming to stop she saw a familiar redhead heading to where the blonde had just left with something in her hand.
"Amelia I thought…"
"You really think I'm gonna let her kill herself without a fight" Amelia said as she went to go straight into the mines only for Emma to stop her by grabbing her upper arm and turning her around to face her
"You know?" that all the blonde could say to the redhead
"I know what using that amount of magic against the trigger will do, I won't stand by when I have something that will help" she tells the blonde
"What do you mean? How can you help?"
All Amelia could do was hold up the bronze sphere up to the blonde. It weight no more than a paper weight despite it's size and the dull bronze like metal that encased it was was smooth to touch despite it's appearance. Deep engraving's covered the ball like the stitching on a baseball. She had only caught a brief glance of it's copy in the pawn shop while held Regina back, but this time she felt something she had never felt before rolling off the object in waves.
Everything in her body told her to reach out and touch it, to use it, but at the same time Amelia's warning about it came to the front of her mind.
"Is that?"
"The Apple and definitely not the knock off from the shop, it's the real deal Swan"
"Didn't you say it was dangerous against magic, like taking out Storybrooke kind of dangerous?"
"Not if it's in the right hand's. I can use it. I have before. I can filter its power into Regina, giving her and you more time" she tells the blonde "I can feel the magic being sucked out of the air Emma, you haven't got much left. This will give you more than enough time to get everyone out and then some more"
"Wouldn't that kill you too?"panic struck at her at the thought of losing Amelia and Regina at the same time. Despite their differences she had always come to help Henry.
"I've met death many times, this time I'll be greeting him with a smile. Goodbye Emma" Amelia tells the savior with a wink before heading into the mines to find Regina, leaving the blonde behind her. Today she would die the hero in their eyes, even if she couldn't see it herself.
Amelia followed the tracks through the mines following the energy of the trigger was sucking all the energy in the air into itself until she finally reached the woman doing everything, she could delay the inevitable. Hearing footsteps on the loose gravel on the ground coming towards her Regina looked up thinking it was Emma that had come back to plea with her again only to see Amelia.
"What are you doing here?" Regina greeted the redhead as she approached the older woman
"You're an idiot if you'd really think I'd stand by after your little goodbye earlier and not do something"
"And what exactly did you do?"
"Give you a little boost" she tells Regina holding up the Apple of Eden. She could feel its power from where she stood, this was the real thing, not the fake she had given to her mother.
Regina shook her head "No Melia that would kill you if this doesn't"
"I always told you wanted to go out with a bang" Amelia shrugged at the woman
"Not like this"
"Exactly like this, Regina" she tells the woman in front of her "I promised I would never leave you and I'm doing just that; I may not be able to be with you but that doesn't mean I don't love you. And as if you haven't forgotten already. It's my job" the corner of the redhead's lips quirked up into a half smile.
A watery smile grew on Regina's lips at Amelia's declaration. Everything seemed to click back into place for the pair as her brown eyes stared to her green for what it seemed like an age as she held back the trigger "I know" she whispered remembering her promise all those years ago "I love you too"
"Good" the red head said lifting the Apple up. Regina saw the Apple shone through the engravings of the bronze ball it was encased in, this was nothing like the fake one she saw in the pawn shop her mother held this one radiated true power that Amelia held in her hand.
Amelia's back stiffened as her head lurched back closing her eyes as it power travel through her body, after beat she relaxed opened her eyes and looks at Regina. The former Evil Queen was taken aback as Amelia's green apple eyes shone bright gold as she took the full brunt of the energy from the Piece of Eden.
"Because this is gonna hurt like a bitch" she said as she placed her hand on Regina's forearm allowing the power of the Apple to flow into Regina letting the woman's magic grow stronger into the trigger.
Seeing Amelia so ready to die made Emma get to the diner quicker as the townspeople gathered ready to leave Storybrooke forever. She was greeted by her parents and Henry once she entered the restaurant, already seeing a good amount of people already there including a few of Amelia's employees at the back keeping to themselves. They didn't even bother to look up at her as they stayed quiet and downcast looking at anything but the heroes. They knew. Somehow they knew what Amelia was doing. Their friend was dying and they could do nothing to stop it.
"We have the beans" David announces to his daughter as soon as she got into the restaurant
"You did it?"
"Yeah"
Emma notices an injury on David's arm from his fight against Greg and Tamara "You okay?"
"Oh, it's... grazed. It's fine" he brushed off her concern
"Okay. Let's get going" Emma tried to get them going but Henry wouldn't move noticing who was absent "Henry?"
"Wh—where's my mom? And Lia she ran off" Emma looked up to Mary Margaret who nodded at her daughter to confirm
"Regina can hold off the self-destruct device long enough for us to escape and Amelia went to help her, but..." she trailed off not knowing how to tell her son the dire news
"But what?" Henry pressed her
"She won't survive. Neither will Lia. She took the Apple with her the real one, she says it will give us all the extra time to leave"
"No. No" the boy protested about the fact he could lose two people he cared for
"Henry, I'm sorry. I promised Regina I'd get you to safety, and Lia would want to same"
"But we can't do this! Their family! We don't leave family behind!" he yelled at them.
"This is what they want. We have a way out. We have to take it" she tried to tell her son
"We saved them from being killed by the Wraith. How is this any different?" he argued with his mother
At the mention of the Wraith that nearly killed Amelia after the curse broke made Mary Margaret remember out loud "The Wraith!"
"What?" Emma asked her mother's sudden outburst
"We sent it through a portal. Why can't we do the same thing with the self-destruct?" Mary Margaret replied in
"Because we don't know if it's gonna work" Emma tried to
"It could" her mother insisted
"Yeah" David agreed with his wife
"It's too risky. No one will go along with it" Emma tells her parents
"Yes, we will" Archie came to the group having overheard the conversation "It's the right thing to do. Look, Snow White and the Prince have always led us before, and we've always won. So, who's willing to let them lead us again?" the therapist asked the restaurant
Everyone in the diner raised their hand up in favor chiming in their support for the idea including Amelia's own people. She took a risk when she welcomed every single person into her home. That leap of faith was rewarded by their loyalty towards the assassin and she needed it more than anything now. She was taking a leap of faith to make sure they got away from the trigger, it was now time they took a leap for her.
Mary Margaret looked to her old friend "Thank you, Archie" then she turned back to Emma "Oh, this is what we should do"
"And will do" David added
"Look, I know we haven't had a lot of chances to be parents but give us this one. Let us do the right thing. It's not too late" Mary Margaret pleaded with her daughter
Emma held Henry in her arms "I just don't want him to be alone. I don't want him to grow up the way I did" A loud boom, and then another earthquake occurs, the largest one yet "This plan could fail. If we use that bean now, we can get away for sure. We will survive"
"But it's wrong. Emma, I killed her mother. And Lia deserves more, she saved you when she didn't have to"
"You did that to Cora because you had to" Emma tells her mother
"I did it because it was easy. It was a mistake. There were other paths, harder paths, and I wish I had taken them. So please, Emma, honey, let's take the hard path. Because if we don't, we will be building a future on Amelia and Regina's blood"
Emma hesitates a moment, then "Okay" David tosses her the bean, but it is intercepted by Hook.
"You're all mad" the pirate tells the savior and her parents. Emma and David attempt to grab it back "I can live with myself"
"Give it back" Emma demanded out of the pirate
"If she and the Widow want to die for us, I say let them"
"We understand each other. Look out for yourself, and you'll never get hurt, right?"
"Worked quite well for me"
"Yeah, until the day that it doesn't. We're gonna do this. It might be stupid, it might be crazy, but we're doing it. So, you can join us and be a part of something, or you can do what you can do best, and be alone"
Hook hands her the pouch containing the bean "Quite passionate, Swan" Everyone begins to leave, leaving Emma with Hook alone "So, why are you really doing this?"
"The kid just lost his father today. I'm not letting him lose a mother and friend too"
"His father? Who's Henry's father?" he asked the blonde
"Neal" she tells him
"Baelfire?"
"Yeah" she confirms before leaving the diner
Regina felt the full force of the power that came from the Apple that filtered through the Assassin, she knew Amelia was in pain as her hand gripped tighter on her arm and whimpered trying not to scream out in pain. She knew something was wrong when the grip on her arm loosened and the connection was lost, as the strength of her magic going into the trigger had depleted.
Looking to her right instead of seeing Amelia stood next her, it was now an empty space only for the now burnt out, almost smoking Apple of Eden that been dropped on the ground. Panic started to rise in her heart not being able to see the woman that once held the ancient artifact only to see her sat up against the wall of the mine. Her healthy skin was now a sickly grey as hooded eyes were tempted to close completely until she heard her name being called out across from her.
"Melia!" Regina yelled at the woman. She was barely breathing. She had underestimated the Apple's power and now she was paying for it. It simply was too much for her and too powerful even for someone as powerful for her think they could control it. She was right. As always.
"Melia?" her voice cracked as she was started to struggle to contain the trigger as she desperately wanted to go to Amelia.
"I'm okay" she weakly replied to the former Queen's concern.
"No. Your not" she argued with the redhead as tears of frustration left her eye's. She couldn't let go of the trigger, no matter how much she wanted to.
"I'm sorry" Amelia breathed out; Regina saw how deep she had to breath in just for two word.
"Amelia!" At the call of her name she opened her eye's again to see Emma, Henry, Snow and David standing over her.
"What happened to her?!" Mary Margaret asked the former Queen as she crouched down to the weak looking Assassin as Emma found the Apple of Eden that only half an hour ago had so much power coming off of it, she could barely be near it to now of the ground completely burnt out with no power to it's name.
"It burnt out" Emma saw the former bronze ball on ground glancing up to the Assassin "And so did she"
"What are you doing here?" Regina asked the Charming family
"You two were willing to die to save us. That makes you a hero. Now we're gonna be heroes" Henry tells his adopted mother
"They're gonna open up a portal, throw this thing into a void" David explained to the former Queen
"No" Regina protested "You don't know that it'll work, just look at what it did to Lia" she pointed out the Charming family
"We have to try" Mary Margaret told the woman
"Everybody, step aside" David instructed as he pulled Mary Margaret away from Amelia, who was breathing a little better than they first saw her "Emma?"
Emma stepped back pulling out Hooks black leather pouch that held the bean only to find it empty "It's empty" she tells the others in confusion "Hook" she say's outload in realization
"I can't contain this much longer" Regina warned the others as she glanced over to Amelia still on the ground their eyes met as the assassin.
Emma goes over Mary Margaret and David "Mom... Dad.." she calls out to her parents in fear as they tearfully embrace each other as a family. The redhead gave the woman she loved a weak smile before Henry joins his mother struggling to contain the trigger
"I love you, Henry. I only wish I was strong enough to stop all this. I'm just not" she tells her son
Emma let out a small gasp in realization, then rushes over to Henry and Regina "You may not be strong enough, but maybe we are" Henry stood back with David and Mary Margaret as Emma stood opposite Regina over the trigger, mirroring the older's woman's position the blonde concentrated as she let her light magic flow into the trigger while Regina did the same
Combining their magic and successfully diffuse the trigger, causing a burst of magic sent the group to the floor.
"We're alive!" David announced happily as they roused from the burst of magic, he helps Mary Margaret to her feet and in turn helping their daughter up.
Finding the now diffused trigger, Regina crawled over to Amelia placing a hand on the redheads cheek making the woman rouse back around a wide smile spread on the former Queen's face seeing the woman alive and well again. She really was okay, and alive.
"We did it" Emma announced in relief
"Yes, we did" Regina added looking into Amelia's green eyes. They had did it. Together.
After a beat David helps the assassin back onto her feet with a strong tug of her arms, only to find the woman still wasn't strong enough to stand on her own. Regina quickly came to the rescue as she took her hand lacing their fingers together until the redhead found her balance one again. Only to find she didn't want to let go of the former Queen's hand just yet.
The redhead seemed to get better by the minute despite the amount of power that coursed through her body which only made the woman holding her up even more fascinated with the woman in her arms.
"Gotta hand it to Henry. He's right about a lot of things" David said to his family with a smile
"Yes, he is. Isn't that right, kid?" Emma turned to try and find Henry only to him missing "Henry?"
"Henry?" the group headed towards the exit of the mines in search for the eleven-year-old
"Henry?" Emma calls out again as they come across something on the mine tracks, they slow to see that it's his backpack
"Emma, what is it?" Emma's mother asked her in concern
"They took him"
Even in her weakened state Amelia was able to track Henry by the invisible trial he left behind with two other's she assumed as Greg and Tamara's through her sight, it eventually led the back to the cannery and docks. She knew she could get there faster than anyone else but as soon as she did she felt the full effect of her ordeal as her head spun making her collapse almost twice since leaving the mine. Which meant she was scolded twice by Mary Margaret and Regina respectively.
"Emma, Lia you don't even know where you're going" Mary Margaret asked her daughter and old friend. She could see how much this was straining the redhead, not even ten minutes ago she was as good as dead from the Apple but she wasn't going to let anyone take Henry. Not now. Not when they had saved the town.
"Doesn't matter" she brushed off her mother's concerns "I have to find him. I'll track them down in hell if I have to."
"Ditto on the blonde" Amelia added as they finally spotted Greg and Tamara with Henry running towards the end of the dock.
"The last bean! They've opened a portal" Regina tells the group
Ignoring her body's plea to stop she pushed ahead of the group as the others called out to the boy and ran towards as the pair jumped into the water/portal. Amelia just about stopped near the water's edge before she had to turn back and grab Emma before she decided to jump into the water herself.
"No! No! No! We have to follow them! There has to be a way!" Emma loudly protested in Amelia's arms as she struggled to escape the Assassin grip only for the red head to practically throw Emma into her father waiting arms away from the edge.
"You can't do that if you're dead!" Amelia yelled at the blonde; the words seemed to resonate with the blonde as the savior calms down in her father's arms.
"Not only do we not know where they went, but Hook stole the last bean!" Regina exclaimed
"I don't care!" Emma yells back
"Without it, there's no way to follow"
"There has to be. We can't just let the, take Henry!" Emma yelled as Gold and Belle approached the raised voices at the docks
"They've taken Henry?" Gold asked the party
"Yeah. You're the Dark One. Do something" David tells the Dark One making Amelia roll her eyes at the Prince
"Gold, help us" Emma pleaded with the man
"There's no way. I spent a lifetime trying to cross worlds to find my son. There's no way in this world without a portal. Miss Montague will concur with me on this she's the most experience at jumping world to world out of all of us" this made Emma turn to Amelia pleadingly
"No portal no jump sorry Swan" the Assassin tells the blonde in pants in exhaustion fighting back the feeling of her knee's wanting to buckle under her onto the ground.
"So that's it? He's gone forever? I refuse to believe that" Regina protests
Belle pauses and looks at something over Amelia's shoulder in the distance "What is that?" the group turn to see a ship in the horizon making the woman whirl around to see the Jolly Roger
"That son of a bitch" Amelia muttered out loud as she followed the ship as it docked.
The group hurriedly moved to where the ship had docked and met the pirate as he stepped walked down the ramp "What the hell are you doing here?" was the first thing Emma asked the pirate
"Helping" he answered the blonde
"Well, you're too late" Regina told him as they met him at the bottom of the ramp
"Am I?"
"I thought you didn't care about anyone but yourself" Amelia retorted as he shows Henry's mothers what he has in his hand, it was a magic bean.
"Maybe I just needed reminding that I could"
"Enough waiting around, let's go" Regina tells the pirate heading for the ship
"Go? Where? I thought we were saving the town" Hook asked the group in confusion
"We already did" Amelia tells the pirate "It hurt.. a lot" Regina comfortable rubbed Amelia's shoulder in sympathy
"We need to get Henry. Greg and Tamara took him through a portal" Emma updated him
"Well, I offer my ship and my services to help follow them" Hook tells the women
"Well that's great, Hook, but how do we track them?"
"Leave that to me" Gold suddenly told them "I can get us to where we need to go"
"Well, let's do it" Mary Margaret said as Emma, Regina and herself follow Hook onto the ship while David reluctantly followed the three women aboard while Amelia stayed on the docks. I wasn't her place to join them, she wasn't family after all.
Gold turned to Belle "Belle, I have to go. You have to stay here" he tells his true love
"No. Why? I wanna help" she tells him
"The town is no longer safe" Gold tells the woman
"What?!" Amelia, David and Belle asked the old man
"Well, Greg and Tamara weren't working alone. Others will follow" Gold tells the three around him
"No. We can't leave people in danger" David tells the man
Gold takes out a small sheet of paper, hands it to Belle "After we've gone, follow these instructions. It's a cloaking spell. It'll shield the town, making it impossible for anyone to find" Gold give's Amelia a look that tells her to step away for a minute, Amelia took the hint and did as he was told.
"Then how will you find your way back to me?" Then she realises "You're not coming back, are you?"
"The prophecy. The boy is my undoing, but he's also my grandson. I must save him. I must do this to honour Baelfire. He's gone, and I didn't even get the chance to say good-bye"
"I understand, but I also know that the future isn't always what it seems. I will see you again" they kiss, then tearfully begin to go their separate ways "Baelfire would be very proud of you"
Belle stepped away as Gold went to walk up the ramp, but he stopped as he saw Amelia still on the docks "Aren't you coming Miss Montague" he called
"You know this feels more like a family thing, besides you said something about the town being in danger. I think I'd be more use here"
"As gallant as that is Miss Montague, I have a feeling that this family matter will need to include you, I need at least one ally on that ship" he says trying to convince the woman to join them "Also i must also apologise for my reluctance to help earlier. But if the apology doesn't work, I think what this letter says persuade you to join us" he says to he waved his hand and red smoke surround her right hand, once the smoke disappear it was replaced with an old worn envelope
"All I ask is that you open it once we get to our destination, then I will have the answers you seek" he tells her cryptically before walking up the ramp to the Jolly Roger.
Amelia shrugs her shoulders before following the old man and joining the others on the ship as she put the letter into one of the pockets on the leather jacket she wore. The others didn't seems fazed at Amelia's presence at the rescue party as they watch Gold approach the Captain of the Roger.
"So, are you done trying to kill me" Gold started
"I believe so" Hook replied
"Excellent. Then you can live" the old man tell his but he magically summons the Magic Globe, pricking his finger, and lets a drop of his blood drip onto the globe and formed a map of a strange island appears
"Where is that?" Regina speaks up for the rest of the group and Hook takes a look to where they were headed "Where did they take Henry?"
"Neverland" Hook gravely told the group
After helping Hook prepare to sail, she found Regina near the wheel as Hook threw the magic bean into the water "You all might want to hold onto something" Amelia announced to the others. She learnt the hard way for not holding onto something as the Jackdaw jumped into a portal. Listening to the assassin they all found rope or part of the ship to hold onto as Hook sailed them towards the portal forming in the water.
"So, who are we up against?" David asked the Dark One "Who are Greg and Tamara?"
"They're merely pawns, manipulated by forces far greater than they can conceive. They have no idea who they're truly working for"
"And who's that?" Amelia asked the old man
"Someone we all should fear" he said as they fell into the portal disappearing from the Maine shoreline.
