Despite how tired she felt the previous night with the reunion with Elsa she didn't get as much as she thought she did as she woke up in the early hours of the morning as her mind wondered on how much had changed since she and John had sailed away from Arendelle as newlyweds to now, with all the pain they had both suffered over the years, only her mind kept going back to the one person she was trying to forget about.

As John slept soundly next to her she rose with the sun, her mind easing little after a hot shower as she stepped out their bathroom in a bathrobe as she continued to dry her hair out with a towel watching the deep fall and rise of his chest as he lied on his stomach in a deep slumber. She had spent so much time trying to get over him. Why was it the moment she decided to finally let him go, he had to come back?.

Maybe fate or destiny hadn't had their fill of her just yet. They wanted to see her suffer just a little longer.

"Morn'in" she suddenly heard come from the bed as she hadn't realized how long she had stood there deep in thought as the Captain sat himself up on the bed wide awake "You're up early" he observes as she makes herself move from the spot she had stood at to start moving around the bedroom.

"I've got to meet Emma and Elsa at my Uncle's shop this morning, start to figure out how she got here and then I've got to do some actual work at the bar" she tells him "Do you mind taking Tom to the meeting at town hall today? It'll be good for someone who actually know's Elsa to try and defend the wall she built keeping us all in".

"Sure, no problem" he says as he tries to keep up with his wife. Something else was bothering her as he prepared himself to bring up the subject that had been on his mind since the previous night.

"Listen" he started as she dived into bathroom to get changed, again closing the door to so she could still hear him. She'd been doing this ever since she got back, especially if they were alone. Like she didn't want him to see her. "This probably isn't the best time to ask, but I wanted to ask about the Queen" he started.

"What about exactly?" she asked called out from the bathroom.

"What is she to you?" She knew this subject would come up eventually.

"We worked together" she simply told him before emerging from the bathroom fully dressed heading to the small mirror that hung above her chest of drawers picking up her hair brush to tame her drying hair "I helped her with her own plans for vengeance while she helped me with mine" she tells him.

"What about when you weren't? I know about the Black Widow. I'm asking what happened when you were Amelia with her" the question made his wife freeze mid-brush as she tried to find the right words that would answer his question. But nothing came.

"We're not having this conversation now" she tells him as she gave up on her hair to focus on finding something for him to wear. She threw him the first thing she found which was a pair of jeans that had been discarded on armchair that sat in the corner of her room. The hint was clear as day as she threw them at him before opening up the drawers in front of her to find the rest of his clothes.

"When are we?" he pressed picking the jeans up as he swung himself to the edge to change with her back to him as more clothes were flung on to the bed.

"We need to focus on Elsa and the ice wall that surrounds the town first" she suggested as she grabbed a jacket from her wardrobe.

"You clearly have feelings for the Evil Queen" he said.

Amelia suddenly slammed the wardrobe door and turning to her husband "She is not the Evil Queen anymore" she tries to tell him "You would know that if you really bothered to look".

Shaking his head in disbelief the his next words slipped through his lips before he knew what he was saying "I've spent all this time wondering and worrying about you. You didn't think of me once, too busy with the Queen" he accused her as something in her finally snapped in her mind at the accusation.

"You were dead!" she suddenly yelled at him making him jump at the sudden outburst "and it was my fault. So yes I was a little busy finding the people that took you and Tom from me".

"- And I darkened my heart for it, for you and Tom because it was the only thing I could do, it was the only thing that made sense" she admitted to him "I've come a long way from the woman that worked for the Evil Queen. Everyday is a battle not to turn back to the Widow. Because it was easier for people to fear me instead of them looking up to me to do the right thing, and when I do, the right thing hurt's the one person I care about"

He could see the angry tears in her eye's. The hurt. He'd done that.

"You love her" It wasn't a question as it dawned on the man of what had happened between her and the Queen. She had moved on.

"You have a speakeasy to get to" she reminds him wiping the angry tears from her face" I have to go" she tells him before leaving alone in the bedroom.

Walking down main street with Tom with his hands buried deep in the black leather jacket his wife had to buy for him, his eye's caught the sight of the cars that drove past them, still not used to the horseless carriages. They decided to take the long way to meeting so he wouldn't have to make nice to the woman that he was accused of helping for too long.

If it hadn't been for her daughter, travelling through time, he would've been killed by the Evil Queen years ago.

"So, what were you and Mom fighting about this morning?" his teenage son asked him as they slowly walked towards the town hall.

"You heard that huh?".

"The walls are pretty thin" he didn't even need to use his sixth sense to hear what they were fighting about.

"We're just..trying to move through some things" he tried to answer his grown son "A lot's changed since we've been apart".

"I've never heard her that angry" he tells his father "I mean I know she got mad with me sometimes when I wouldn't listen to her instructions".

"Yeah, she's doesn't like that does she?" John added earning a chuckle from his son as they came to the ice cream parlor that Henry had introduced him to 'Any Given Sundae'.

"It means that she cares about you when she gets mad at you" Tom tells him as they come to a stop in front of the store.

"I know" John says with a tight smile as the teen see's where they've stopped.

"Do you want to get some ice cream before we go to the meeting?".

"Ice cream?" John looked at his son in confusion.

"Come on, it's the best" Tom headed into the parlor with John following close behind him. The bell on the door rung out as the pair entered as the woman greeted them.

"Hey Tom" Ingrid greeted the teen holding out a ice cream topped cone with a scoop of his favorite flavor, strawberry "I saw you through the window here" offering the cone to the boy, Tom took the cone from the woman gratefully.

"Thanks" he said before attempting to take a bite of the ice cream only to grimace slightly as the coldness of the sweet treat touched his teeth.

"Your welcome" she reply's sweetly looking at John "I don't believe we've met?" the blonde asked holding her hand to the man "I'm Ingrid".

"Smith. John Smith" he replied taking the woman's hand with a simple shake "Tom's Dad".

"Yes, I've heard so much about you".

"You have?" he asked the woman in surprise.

"Only good things don't worry. You just missed Robin and Marian with their young boy. I was just saying how much of an ordeal you both been through, it must be hard having to adapt to all of this" she told the man gesturing to the world around them "Did you want to try something, on the house of course" she offers going back round the counter, he walked up to the glass looking at the tubs of ice cream that lined the counter.

"I don't really know what ice cream is" he chuckled out embarrassingly.

"Oh, it's amazing, there's no problem that can't be solved with a bit of ice cream".

"You should try the rocky road" Tom spoke up in-between bites of the sweet treat like he hadn't been fed this morning.

"Sure, I'll try that" the Captain agrees.

"Good choice" the woman said taking a scoop out the ice cream placing it on a cone before turning around and grabbing a bottle of syrup. Out of John's view she waves a hand over the scoop, casting a spell on it before turning back to hand it to him.

"Thank you" John said taking the cone from the woman.

"No, thank you. Seeing a family reunited after such heartbreak like yours in here really warms my heart" nodding at the woman's statement he hesitantly taking a bite from the scoop.

"Mhmm it's good" he tells the woman before looking at the watch on his wrist "Come on the meetings starting soon" he tells his son patting his shoulder steering him towards the exit "Thank you, again".

"No problem, give my regards to Amelia would you" she says with a tight lipped smile.

"Will do" he say's leaving the shop to head towards the town meeting.

Leaning against one of glass cabinets on the main floor of the shop the assassin listened to the conversation Emma, Hook and Elsa were having with her uncle about Anna and reason why he had her necklace in his shop this whole time, allowing the new couple to confront the old man themselves.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've never seen her before in my life" the man tells the group as he eyes his niece trying to hide yet another yawn.

"So, how'd she end up inside your urn inside your secret vault of terror?" Emma asked the man hearing a dry chuckle escape the redhead as she listened to the blonde's description, making everyone in the room to look at her at the slight interruption.

"What? I've been in there and it's not fun, that's for sure" she tells the group.

"Did you ever see the urn?" Emma asked the red head.

"I tended not to touch his thing's without glove's or a shield, especially anything in that damn vault" her eye's then met Elsa's "Sorry" the Ice Queen gave her a small smile in appreciation, if Amelia knew she was trapped in that urn she would've freed her in a heartbeat.

"Look" Gold brought the conversation back to him "If you really want to know how she wound up there, she's standing right beside you, Miss Swan. Why don't you simply ask her?" he suggested.

"She did" Elsa tells the man "But I can't remember. Something happened to my memories".

"Well, an all-too-common affliction around these parts. My lovely niece Amelia, will tell you since she lost about fifteen years' worth due to her inability to keep her hands-off pretty witches" he sneered at the woman with bared teeth.

Elsa looked back in confusion at the woman she knew. Amelia narrowed her eye's at the man about to retort but, he had a point. They were very pretty witches. Especially the darker haired one.

"Touché old man." she grumbled at him before he carried on with the conversation.

"Pity" he spat out "But as you can see, many objects fall into my possession... urns, necklaces, all manner of things. I can't know the history behind all of them" he defends himself.

"Only if there's something in it for you. Right, mate?" Hook interrupts not buying the older man's story.

"Yeah, well, that may have been true once. But recently my life has been, turned upside down. I've lost a son" he pauses looking to Belle "I've gained a wife" he looks towards Amelia "and a niece and great nephew. So, you might say... I've decided to turn over a new leaf".

"Don't forget about my super power" Emma reminds the man "I'll be able to tell if you're lying".

"How about I do you one better?" Gold rebutted "Let's simply have Belle or Amelia use the dagger on me" he offers the the blonde making the redhead look at him in surprise at his willingness for her to use the dagger against him. She only had to do it once and not enjoyed doing it.

Looking shocked her husbands demand, Belle steps forward, taking a hold of his hand, and she stammers "No. No. Rumple, you don't... you don't have to do that" she tells him in protest.

"Now way!" the redhead added.

"No, no, no. Miss Swan wants proof. And I'm happy to cooperate" He's insistent to prove that he is innocent "So who shall it be Miss Swan. My dear wife or my niece" he offered to the savior.

Emma and Hook turned to look at the assassin who sternly shook her head at them as a no. There was no way she was using that against him again.

"Fine" Belle sighs giving in, opening her handbag she takes out the Dark One's dagger. The others watch as she turns to face Mr Gold and raises it "I command you, Dark One...To tell them the truth" she commands him.

"The truth is..." He pauses "Just as I said. I had no idea there was someone inside there. I know nothing about Elsa. Or her sister. But I wish you best of luck finding her" with that the group went to leave the shop only for the old man to call Amelia back.

"Ah Mrs Smith" he calls out not able to hide the smile on his face or tone in his voice.

"That's me" she tells the other's as they continue to leave. Turning around she approached her Uncle who remained with his new wife as he reached into his suit pocket to take something out.

"I found these recently, and I thought you'd like them back" he says opening his hand to reveal a pair of rings she hadn't seen in years in the palm of his hand. Icy blue veins ran through the silver rings that held so much significance to her and John.

They symbolized the vow they made to each other so long ago, before they replaced them a year after they got married. They hadn't come through with her in either curses, she thought she had lost them forever. That was probably their first mistake. They forgot what those ring meant to them and why it was so easy for her to throw it into the sea.

"On the house of course, a belated wedding gift perhaps" he offered them to her.

"Only thirty or so years late" she says gratefully taking them out of his hand "Thank you".

"Your Welcome. I do hope you and your captain will work things out, would be a shame for young Tom to lose his father for a second time" Amelia kept her mouth shut in front of Belle as she pocketed the rings in her jacket before storming out of the shop were she faced the savior that seems to be at the root of her problems lately and her pirate sidekick.

"Hey what's up with you?" was the first thing the woman asked as waited outside the shop for her to come back out.

"Not now Swan. I need to get to the bar" Amelia brushed the woman's question off as she walked down the street. Emma had to move her legs to keep up with the red head as she hurried towards her car. Hook and Elsa followed the blonde at a distance.

"Lia, what's going on, did he say something to you? What's wrong?".

"Not now!" she suddenly snapped at the blonde making her jump back in fear from the former assassin. The looked reminded her the way the Widow looked at her as the redhead panted out her frustration towards the blonde at that moment as Hook gave the fearsome look of silent warning not to take another step towards the fearful savoir.

Her eyes flickered to Elsa who was stood there with her hand out ready to use her powers on her friend. This was a whole new side to the redhead she had never seen before. And it scared her.

The redhead hadn't realized she also held up a balled up fist until the haze suddenly lifted off her mind seeing as it poised and ready to go straight for the savior until she saw Emma's eyes widen in fear of being on the receiving end of the Black Widow.

"Sorry" she gulped out taking a step away from the three as she relaxed her fist "I'm sorry" the apologetic assassin took made herself turn away and leave the other's as quickly as she could as she felt the tears starting to gather in her eyes.

Letting out the Widow was not the best path to go down just right now. Not when she wasn't sure how she felt about her first love anymore.

He would be lying if he said he hadn't felt a little intimidated as he and his son walked through the town hall to the mayor's office where the fireside speakeasy was being held.

Mary Margaret or Snow White, the woman who was the reason he was arrested by the Evil Queen, stood outside the office greeting everyone as they arrived with her new-born son in her arms.

"John. Tom" she greeted the pair sweetness lacing her voice with welcoming smile "I didn't expect you two to come along" she said hand out the pamphlets of the day's agenda to both. Tom headed into the room being greeted with a handshake and a pat on the back from the Prince leaving his father with the new mayor.

"I wanted to get to know the place, while I'm here" John answered the woman's inquisitive nature "Amy likes it here, I thought I'd give it a chance".

"I'm glad you did; I mean underneath the snow monsters and Ice Queen's. Storybrooke is a lovely place full of good people".

"Including the Evil Queen?" he queried with a raised brow looking down at the pamphlet in his hand.

"Especially her, she's come a long way".

"Hmmm" he hummed in not knowing how to reply after the fight this morning "You know it's just hard to believe that she's has changed after she told me Amelia was dead after she arrested me for helping you. After that, there was nothing left for me. I had no idea who Snow White was, or cared, I just wanted my wife back, you can understand that right?".

Mary Margaret's smile fell from her face at the piece of information as John entered the office to be greeted with a firm handshake with David.

The anxieties he held as he walked into the building melted away as he was greeted by smiles and handshakes from the dwarves, Archie and Granny. It helped that everyone already knew who Tom was which cushioned the blow.

"No misses?" Sneezy asked the man before sneezing once again.

"Uh no, she had to work" he answered politely "She doesn't; really like meetings, too many people like this anyway".

"Maybe she's with Regina" Sneezy joked only to earn a slap from Leroy and a glare that could kill from Granny who is sat in a chair knitting.

"Shut up you" Leroy chastises the dwarf before looking back to John "Sorry" he sheepishly tells the man before heading back to their seat's.

John shook his head and turned to stand by the door to see his friend Robin enter with his family. The two men approached each other and engulfing in brotherly hug in greeting with smiles of their face's.

After small chit chat with his friend the two stood either side of the entrance of the office as they waited for the meeting to begin. The meeting began as the former Princess walked the length of the room from the door to the desk.

"Hi, everyone. And welcome to the very first mayor's fireside chat" once she reached the desk she stopped and turned around to address the others as her husband to took a seat next to her "For too long, this office was a place to be feared. Well, I want every citizen to feel welcome and included here. So, if you could just refer to the meeting agenda I've printed, there are...".

"Uh, what's this about an ice wall?" Archie interrupts and holds up his piece of paper.

Slightly surprised by the interruption the mayor tried to brush the question off "Oh, that's, uh, item four. We'll get to that in a minute".

"I vote we skip items one, two, and three" Leroy announced to the citizens "Show of hands" The crowd murmurs in agreement with his statement and all raise their hands, including Tom and John.

Mary Margaret smiles politely "Yeah, that's... oh, fine. No, I can... I can be flexible. The ice wall is nothing to worry about. For the time being, it does surround the entire town...".

The crowd erupts in different levels of outrage from the quietly concerned the those who were on their feet completely outraged at the piece of information they had been told.

"The entire town?" Archie's voice was heard through the concerned voices.

Leroy stands up angrily "Are you serious?" he exclaimed.

Not expecting the reaction the new mother becomes flustered as she struggles to comforting her crying son who was disturbed by the crowd's outrage "Oh. Everyone calm down. The wall isn't hurting anyone".

"We've been through all this before" Leroy spoke for the citizens "I ain't worried about the wall. I'm worried about who made it".

Looking back down at her own piece of paper the new mayor brings up the next item on the agenda as the infant settles back down "Item five. Her name is Elsa. She's a friend".

"Is she the one that froze my truck?".

"And made that snow monster that almost killed Marian and John?" Granny added from her chair. The former Captain tried his best to keep the smile from growing on his face as he secretly enjoyed seeing the Princess struggling to control the meeting.

Marian try's to jump in trying to defend the Princess "Bu... W-e're fine. Really" she looked towards who John who quickly nods along.

David stands up to address the crowd "I've spoken to Elsa, and I promise you we will have all of this under control very soon" John tried to listen to what the Prince had to say as a chill went up his arms making him take in a sharp in take of breath as it continued to travel up through his body until it reached his head where the roots his hair started to visibly turn white to their tips creating a steak of white hair thought the middle of his hair, unaware that the same thing was happening to Marian.

The room started to slowly spin as Davids' distorted voice reached his ears "And there will be no more danger of any kind".

From beside him Tom felt the hairs on his arms stand up on end as his senses took over making look over to his father who looked like her was about to be sick, as his heart started to thump harder in his chest. Something was wrong. Very wrong as he saw the streak of unnatural white hair in the dark blonde hair.

His mother had only told him what happened when they felt any once of danger near her but this was something else, it felt like his whole body was calling out to do something to stop the danger only he didn't know what it was.

"So, if we could all just circle back around to item one, we can all discuss...".

Everything seemed to slow down for the teen as his father stumbled forward his knee's buckling underneath him as his eye's closed on their own accord. Tom felt helpless as Marian collapsed into her husbands arms and his own father fell onto the floor with a thump landing in the middle of the floor as Tom threw himself onto his knee's grabbing his shoulder as he tried to wake up his father.

"Dad! Dad!".

Elsewhere Henry was sat by himself in Granny's doing homework as a waitress place a cup of hot coco in front of him when Regina enters, carrying a stack of comic books, and she sits down beside him, Henry turning in his seat to look at her.

"I didn't know which ones you were reading these days" she greeted her son.

"These are awesome" he tells her picking up one of the comics "Much better than algebra. Thanks. But you didn't have to do this" he tells her.

"Well, I wanted to" Regina tells him but suddenly drops the smile she entered the diner with "But don't get used to it" She chuckles out picking up one of the comics "Isn't it funny how these are just ink and paper but everything in your storybook is real? Makes you wonder who wrote it, doesn't it?" she starts.

Henry turns to look back at her "The storybook?".

"Mm-hmm" she hums.

"No-one knows" he tells her.

Regina places the comic she is holding back on the counter "Oh, come on. You're such an expert on all this. You've read it cover to cover. There's nothing in the book that gives... Even a clue?".

Henry sensing that Regina is genuinely interested "What are you up to?".

She scoffs momentarily, before sighing "These stories about me in the book, I was written as a villain. And things never work out for the villain, so I... Want to find who wrote this book and make them..." she corrects herself "Ask them... To write me a happy ending" he explained "Is that crazy?".

"This is the best idea you've ever had" Henry replied in excitement "We have to change the book because it's wrong about you. We just have to find the clues".

"We? What? You'll help me?".

"It'll be our own secret mission".

Regina chuckles at her sons enthusiasm "Like that 'Operation Viper' you had with Emma".

"Cobra" he corrects her "but yeah. This one we'll call "operation..." Looks down at the counter deep in thought.

"Mongoose." she suddenly come up with.

"Perfect. Operation Mongoose it is".

Regina chuckles as the bell to the diner jingles and the door opens, revealing an out of breath Tom. She turns on her stool to see the boy clearly looking distressed as he searched the entire diner before he finally sees the woman he was after say at the counter with Henry.

"Regina!" he calls out to her making Henry see his friend scramble toward his mother.

"What are you doing here?" Regina asks him as she stand from her stool.

"It's Marian and my Dad, something's happened to them at the meeting. I'm sorry. I didn't know who else to turn to. Mom isn't answering her phone and m-my Dad" he rambled on as she tried to make sense on what he was saying.

"Hey, calm down" she tells him making him take in a deep breath to try and calm his thumping heart "What do you mean she's not answering, isn't she with you?".

The teen shook his head at the older woman "No, she and Dad had a fight this morning, I-I don't know what to do. We need your help".

Her phone wouldn't stop ringing, she was tempted to throw it across her small office to make it stop, she knew it wold be Emma or her parents trying to get her to talk to them about her outburst towards their daughter.

On what it seemed like the tenth ring she finally snatched the damned thing up without looking at the caller ID to answer it "Swan, if you hadn't guessed by our previous conversation, I'll made it clear to you that I want to be left alone"

"What!?" a voice she recognized as David's said on the other end "I'm not Emma, somethings happened to John at the fireside chat, we need you to come to town hall now".

"What!?" she repeated "What happened?".

"We don't know he and Marian collapsed in the middle of the meeting".

"Where's Tom?" she asked as she stood from her chair and rounded her desk to head to her office door.

"He's gone to find Regina" he answers her.

"See this is why I don't come to these things".

"Just get down here Tom needs you".

"On my way" she tells the man before hanging up.

With the other residents sent away. Tom re-entered the office with Regina and Henry trying to keep up with his quick pace in his hurry to get back to his ailing father, finding where he and the prince had perched him on the sofa with Marian on the other end with an open fire lit in the fireplace as they tried their bast to warm up the rapidly cooling pair.

The teen went straight to his father to look over the man as frost covered his eyebrows, his skin was cold to touch.

"How is he?" the teen asked the Prince that looked out for him while his mother lost her memories.

"Not good" David tells him "They're getting colder" he reports to the boy honestly. There wasn't any good lying to the teen, he saw through the lie like his mother.

"Regina, thanks for coming" Mary Margaret sighs in relief seeing Regina enter the office come to help.

"Don't thank me till I've done something" Regina starts before pausing when she notices the colorful bird painting on the wall and stops in her tracks "Who's idea was that?".

"Oh, I thought I would put my own personal touch on the office" the new mayor tells her with a shrug.

"Well, you've succeeded" she tells the younger woman before turning around "Hideously" she adds to herself as she rounds the ouch to see both John and Marian passed out on the sofa to where Tom is kneeling in front of his father.

She could feel the magic coming from the pair before she saw the frost that covered their faces as Tom looked up to her in hope that she had any idea what was going on "Is there anything you can do?" the teen asks her as she gets a closer look at the pair.

Regina exhales sharply "This is strong magic. I-I can't stop it, but maybe I can slow it down".

Hearing a pair of footsteps echo in the foyer, everyone in the room looked to the door to see Amelia walk through as her green eyes immediately found Regina's brown looking straight at her making her freeze on the spot. She wasn't expecting her to already be there. The last time they had been in this room together the redhead had to end their relationship.

It seemed like the brunette was thinking the same as she visibly stiffened seeing the woman that had to break her heart stood in front of her.

"Mom" Tom's voice distracted her as he jumped from his spot in front of his Dad to approach his mother.

"What the hell happened?" Amelia started ignoring the stab in her chest seeing Regina as literal chills went up her arms like the ones that she felt on the journey to the rock trolls, she never wanted to feel that cold again.

"We were hoping you knew something" Mary Margaret answered the red head as the assassin's eyes sought out the source of her chills as they found Marian and John slumped out on the sofa, each with a a streaks of white hair on their heads and frost visible on their face's.

"Shit" she loudly swore as she felt her heart pick up as she rounded the sofa making the former Queen take a step away from her as the redhead found her husband with their son close on her heels. Crouching down as she took his cold hand into hers.

The former Queen's movements didn't go noticed by the others as she made herself looked away as the redhead fawned over her ailing husband noticing the silver band around her wedding finger that she had never seen before.

"No, no, no" Amelia muttered to herself as she stroked his frozen hair seeing the whiteness in it, her heart broke seeing him like this. She couldn't imagine how it looked like to him seeing her slowly get colder with nothing he could do, but this came as a close second as her heart clenched in fear seeing the man that went out of his way to try and save her like this.

This wasn't fair. None of this fair as tears threatened the fall as she felt how cold he was to touch. "Anything but this" she said a little too loudly as they all looked to her.

"You know what happened?" Tom asked his mother, but before she could answer more footsteps echoed in the foyer as Emma enters the room, followed by Elsa and Hook.

"What happened?" Emma repeated the redhead's question earlier question seeing everyone present.

Seeing the Ice Queen's presence the former Queen stood up to call out savior's new friend head on "Perhaps you should ask your new friend. After all, it was her monster that attacked Marian and John" she accused the younger woman which made the assassin glare up at the former mayor trying to bite her tongue at the accusation towards her friend.

"Well, to be fair we did provoke the beast" Hook tried to defend the blonde.

"This isn't my magic" Elsa confidently defended herself against the former Queen "Someone else did this".

"Oh, and we're supposed to trust you?" Regina argued.

"You can trust me" Amelia spoke up from the floor "It wasn't the monster or her" she corrected the former Queen "This was done in the last hour, the magic is still fresh and Elsa was at the pawn shop with me, the wonder twins and Rumple" she tells Regina standing up to face the others.

"So, how do we break the spell?" Henry asks everyone.

"The only way to cure a freezing spell is an act of true love" Elsa informs the group before looking straight at the redhead "You know this more than anyone here Amelia" she tells the woman "She was cursed with the same thing and an act of true love saved her. John saved her".

The revelation made everyone look towards the assassin as she looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her up as she knew what needed to happen only for the current mayor to speak up.

"If you were saved by an act of true love by John" Mary Margaret started "That means..".

"Snow" the redhead sharply snapped at the younger woman trying to get her to stop talking.

"True love's kiss" Regina said the words out load that made her heart drop as she looked away from her soulmate. They were True Loves.

"Well then, there's no time to lose" Robin says to his old friend next to him.

"Here goes I guess" she whispered to herself as Tom moved out of the way for his mother to lean down and place her lips against his frozen ones a pulse-wave of magic to come from the kiss. The former Queen quickly looked away and hold onto the tears that threatened to spill as she felt the pulse-wave of light magic go through her and the room.

As soon as she pulled away from her husband's bluish skin turned back to a healthy pink as the white streak in his hair disappeared as he woke up with a deep gasp like he had been starved of air for hours

"Amy" he breathed out seeing his love in front of him.

"Hey Cap, you're okay" she breathed out in relief not caring that everyone was watching them. Pushing himself forward as he stood to his full height to pull his shorter wife into a passionate embrace that made the room blush and look away at the moment between the lovers.

The pair pulled apart before it got out of hand since Robin still had to save his wife as John opted to stay on his feet and his wife in one arm while he greeted his teenage son with a fatherly kiss on the crown of his head as he wrapped an arm around his shoulder.

Seeing the act of true love work for his friends Robin turns towards Marian, before leaning down and kissing her. After a few moments, he pulls back when realizes it wasn't working "What's wrong? Why isn't it working?" Robin asks the other sending the questions towards Elsa and Regina.

"I've seen this once before, when Frederick was turned to gold" David spoke up for his lace between Henry and his wife.

"Who the hell's Frederick?" Emma asked her father.

"Long story" Henry answered.

The thief quickly became frustrated at the lack of answers seeing that Amelia's had worked and not his "So, the cold is acting as a barrier? Is there nothing we can do?".

"Well, every curse is different. I need more time to study this one" Regina tells the man examining the still frozen woman.

"I'm going to go find who did this before it happens again" Emma turns to leave but is stopped by Regina's voice.

"Well, I hope you bring backup" Regina comments without looking up from the frozen woman.

Hearing the comment the blonde turns back to face the woman herself "What the hell was that supposed to mean?".

"Well, between the snow monster and the cave-in...seems like the savior needs saving these days" Regina explained her comment to the savior as Amelia stood behind her with her freshly un-cursed husband close to her. He seemed to cling to her and Tom as his strength slowly cam back to him she remembered how weak she felt after being frozen.

"I think you're bitter and you're taking it out on the wrong person" Emma sharply retorted "I'll be fine" she tells the woman turns to leave again only for Hook to follow her but stop again to speak to the pirate.

"Well, I like that battle plan, so I'm with you, Swan" Hook tells the blonde.

"No. Take Elsa to the sheriff's station. Keep her out of sight. Once people get word of this, they're going to be calling for her head".

Hook is more concerned about Emma after exchange with the Queen and her earlier fight with the Assassin "I'd rather save yours than hers. There's someone dangerous out there" he argues.

"I don't have time to argue with you about this" Emma's tone changes quickly into sharpness towards the man "Can you for once just do what I say?" she says before leaving the room, not seeing the look on the pirate's face.

Looking down at his wife he could see she listening to the blonde and the pirate as the group set to disburse to let Regina work on Marian. Only for her eye's to look trail back the Regina. He needed to trust her, with the turn of events they needed everyone that knew the curse inside and out to help his friends wife.

"I should go with Emma" he suggests to his wife making her look up at his in disbelief "I need to help make the town believe it wasn't Elsa"

"No offence honey, but are you crazy?" she quietly argues with him "You've just been cursed".

"It was hardly compared to what you went through" reminding of the long drawn out curse she was struck with by Elsa by accident "You should stay here and help Regina, you're the expert on it after all".

"John" she trailed off not sure it was a good idea to be with former Queen at the moment, let alone her husband going anywhere near the person that actually froze him.

"I promise I'll be careful" he quickly pecked his wife's lips in reassurance "Trust me, I'm the Captain" he quipped with a sly smile.

"That's what I'm most afraid of" she tells him before her mind went back to this morning "Can we talk about what happened this morning when we get home?".

"Of course, don't worry. Walk it off remember" he quotes her reminding her of the slogan they had come up with. Leaning forward the former Captain leaves a lingering kiss on her forehead before leaving her side to follow the blonde to wherever her investigation led them.

The former Captain could've sworn he was back in the Enchanted Forest as he trudged behind the two sheriffs Emma and her father David as they set out to prove Elsa's innocence. He was still a little slow as the last remnant's the spell lingered for a little longer than he was comfortable with.

But he knew he would be fine as he remembered how Amelia was once she thawed out. A little slow at first but the three months they had at sea did wonders as her re-charged from her life before she slowed down again once her pregnant bump got too big for her to easily walk around the Godspeed.

The image of his wife pregnant made the Captain smile to himself remembering how happy they both were when they found out they were expecting. She had warned him they might have trouble conceiving before they got married from the 'graduation' the Brotherhood put her through after an incident with a Prince when she was younger. He didn't care though he just wanted to share his life with the woman he loved.

"Are you sure you should be out here?" the blonde sheriff asked the man behind her taking him out of his thoughts "I mean you did just get cursed" she reminded him.

"I'm sure Ma'am" John answered the woman as he caught up with the pair "We have a saying: If they hurt you, hurt 'em back. If they kill you, walk it off" he recited word or word "so that's what I'm doing. Walking it off".

"That does sound like her" Emma mused out load thinking back to the amount of times Amelia had always gone head first into a fight.

"I'm pretty sure she still lives by those words to this day" David tells the other man "the amount of times I've seen her get back up from a fight-".

"Even as the Black Widow?" John broached the subject with the Father and Daughter duo.

"You know about that?" Emma asks the man.

"Word gets around easily in the Forest, even if I didn't know who she was. After the Godspeed sunk, I washed up near the Forbidden Fortress, I didn't know who I was, but all I remember is a woman with red hair with a baby in her arms. I knew that I had to find her. I heard ghost stories about the Black Widow, things she did, people she killed" he gulped "I never imagined it was her until she threatened to cut out Marian's tongue" he trialed off.

"Hey" Emma caught the man's attention again "She's not the Widow anymore, she had her ups and down's in the beginning, but she's come so far from the woman you heard about".

"She's right" David spoke up from his daughter "I spent years fighting the Widow only for her to help me when I needed it most, that's something I can never repay her for in a lifetime, the least I could do for her is believe that she could change and she did".

John nodded as thought over David's words, the Prince meant every word her said about his wife "I'll take your word for it then".

"Robin and Marian's tent's up ahead" David told the pair getting back to the task at hand "So, what exactly are we looking for?".

"If whoever cursed Marian and John has the same powers as Elsa, maybe they left a trail".

"So, we split up and we look for anything... Cold" David summed up.

"Yeah" Emma scoffed at him.

"Well, shout if you need help, and I'll...".

"Okay. Yeah. I got it" Emma interrupted her father as she walked ahead leaving David and John to search the edge of the camp.

As walks towards the tent. She hears clattering coming from inside and draws her gun, knowing it's not Robin "Whoever's in there, come out" she warns them.

A man she didn't recognize as a resident of Storybrooke steps out of the tent slowly and puts his hands up a the blonde.

"Who the hell are you?" Emma demanded out of the stranger "What are you doing in that tent?".

"It depends who's asking" he replied sporting an English accent that sounded nothing like Robins.

"The sheriff's asking" she curtly retorted.

"I never did like sheriffs very much" he replied "Though you do seem like the decent sort, so I'm guessing you're not gonna shoot a man in the back" Emma's brows furrowing in confusion but before she knew it he had quickly turned his back and ran into the forest.

"Hey, stop!" putting away her gun Emma quickly chases after the man. The guy was quick, as quick as Amelia got when she got going as he expertly ran through the dense forest easily stepping over a fallen logs and roots as he ran from her. She was close to getting him only to trip over the log he had so easily stepped over going face first into the ground only just about catching herself with her hands as he got away from her.

Somewhere she could hear Amelia laughing at her. Getting up again she chased after him only to see a blur of blonde hair to tackle the guy down into heap onto the forest floor.

"Where do you think your going, Scarlet?" John growled as he easily lifted the man off the ground with somewhat inhuman strength as David finally caught up to the man as John threw him into the second sheriff waiting arms taking a hold of his jacket as the thief turned to look at the Captain that had painfully tackled him.

"John bloody Smith" the man John called Scarlet grinned at the man "I thought you were-"

"Dead" John finished for him as he caught his own breath "Yeah, seems to be a popular opinion today".

"You know him?" Emma huffed at the Captain as she caught her breath.

"Unfortunately" John grumbled at the thief.

"I'll have you know, I was perfectly friendly until you called the guards" Will defended himself.

"I wouldn't have had to if you'd stop running".

"I almost had him" Emma continued to pant "but I... fell"

"Don't worry about it" David reassured his daughter "That's why we have two sheriffs" he tells her before looking at John "and a Captain apparently"

"Two sheriffs? Bloody hell. That's not even fair, is it?" Will Scarlet complained still in David's hands.

"Who are you?" Emma asked the guy.

"All right" Will relented as the prince loosened his grip on the man's jacket allowing his to stand up straight to speak to the blonde sheriff "My name's Will Scarlet. I used to be a merry man until me and Robin Hood had a bit of a falling out".

"So, what are you doing in his tent?".

"Well, I heard what happened to Marian and John-boy here" nodding his head towards the man that caught him "Terrible thing. But I kind of know something that might help".

"Well, he's not here right now. So tell us".

"Look, I'm a thief" Will started "Always been a thief, always gonna be a thief. And when there's a blackout like the other night, do you know what a thief does?".

"He goes to work" Emma finished for the thief.

"Exactly. So, I'm working me way down Main Street when I break into the ice-cream parlor and see the strangest thing. There'd been no electricity for hours, but still all the ice cream was frozen solid. How... how does something like that happen?".

The mayor's office became more tense once everyone had left leaving Robin, Regina and Amelia behind to try and understand the spell better, while Henry and Tom did their best to entertain Roland across the room.

The two women hadn't spoken a word to each other as Robin refused to leave his wife's side, so instead she focused on the nauseating picture from the desk that now graced the mayor's office wall that she knew Snow had put up to 'brighten up the place'. God's she really wanted to burn it.

"You never you told me you were frozen" Regina's voice broke the silence between the adults as the former mayor joined the assassin on the edge of the desk with her arms folded across her chest.

The redhead couldn't help but noticed the woman's more relaxed appearance since giving up the role of mayor to Mary Margaret since the residents decided that since it was the Princess to cast the curse to bring them back here, she should be the one running the show.

She looked good. She hated it.

"It wasn't most pleasant experience I've ever had, so I try not to re-live it too many times" she answered the former Queen "It happened three months after I ran from the Brotherhood. John was just a responsible Captain dropping off a stowaway that had gotten onto his ship"

This was the most she had gotten from the redhead since John left with Emma and David, she needed to keep her talking if they had any chance of keeping some sort of friendship over everything else that had happened.

"How were you cursed exactly?" the brunette changed the subject maybe if she knew how Amelia was cursed them they could figure out how they could use this to help Marian who couldn't be saved like John was with True Love's Kiss.

"We were in the northern mountains; I had run after Elsa after the kingdom found out about her powers unknowingly putting the kingdom in a never ending winter. She had built herself an ice palace to get away from everyone. When Anna found her tell her what she had done, she got upset. We were trying to get her to calm down only-" she stopped herself, as she remembered how it felt as the ice made contact with her heart. She could only imagine that how it felt to have a blade sunk into it "She lost control and shot us in the heart with her powers".

The former Queen shook her head in disbelief at the young Queen's recklessness "That should've killed you".

"It nearly did" the assassin tells her "It was slow at first, started with the streak of white hair, I couldn't get warm. A friend of ours took us to some rock trolls for help, that told us that only an act of true love would cure us. At the time I thought, no one was going to save me, the only person that could have was-"

"Romeo" Regina sadly concluded thinking back to the man she loved as a father even before she knew the truth.

The red head nodded sadly at the brunette "It got worse. Until it finally took hold and I froze. Until..".

"John kissed you" Regina summed up trying to push down the hurt she felt.

"John saved me" she corrected the Queen's words "and Elsa saved her".

"How long did it last for?" Regina asked her.

"Twelve hours at best, maybe less" she answered the woman still unsure to this day how long she was feeling cold for "I know you don't trust Elsa but she didn't do this, it has to be someone else. Just give her a chance to prove it wasn't her" she tried to plead with the woman next to her.

"Why do you trust that woman anyway I don't see-".

"Because she trusted me when she knew full well I had nothing. And I trust her now" she tells Regina only for her words to have not effect on the Queen what so ever as the tension only get so much thicker between them making the redhead suffocate.

Hearing a scoff leaving the redheads lips the woman suddenly stood from her place and headed straight for the door. She couldn't handle this anymore. She was done.

"Amelia!" the former Queen called out to the former assassin only to go ignored as the turned the corner before disappearing down the hall.

"Regina?" Robin's voice brought the woman out of her thoughts as the thief looked to her seeing his friend suddenly leave "Is she coming back?".

"I'll get her. Don't worry" she told thief getting a firm nod from the man before heading towards the direction she thought the assassin had gone, unaware that Henry had slipped out of the room to follow his mother to find the assassin.

She eventually found the woman in the town hall stood in the middle of the floor with her hands gripping her sides as she fought off her anger and frustration of their current situation and the one that awaited them upstairs, as Henry hung back at the door hidden away so that he could overhear their conversation and find out why Amelia had stormed out of the room.

"Melia" her soft voice brought the Assassin out of the emotional turmoil that she was failing to control as she turned around to

"I don't know what kind of point you're trying to prove, but you need to stop otherwise my friend up there is going to die".

"Excuse me?" Regina retorted narrowing her eyes at the redhead.

"I get it okay" she gulped out "I'm the bad guy, I will always be the bad guy that called us off. I can deal with it like I have for years, what I can't deal with is you not believing me. I didn't ask for any of this. All I'm asking for is us to be civil enough for long enough for my friends wife not to die again because of me".

"And what do you exactly want me to believe?" Regina retorted "That monster she created attacked you, she created the wall that now traps all of us in".

"Look me in the eye and tell me we never done something drastic to get what you wanted" she couldn't, she knew the redhead had caught her out "The only difference between us and Elsa is that she's doing it to get her sister back. While Cora and the Dark One encouraged you to use your magic she was hidden away told to hide them, her parents made her fear her powers which almost cost her everything"

The former Queen was slightly taken aback at the redhead fierce defense for the Ice Queen even as going as far to comparing their magical upbringing's or at least Elsa's lack of one.

"She had no one until I was the one to find her again because she was in more danger than what her powers could do"

"What do you mean?" the former Queen asked her with furrowed brows.

"Claudius was there" her revelation made the brunette's eye widen in concern hearing that he was there when she was at her most vulnerable time "He had teamed up with some local Templar's to find me. That is how desperate he got. Only he got to her instead, so I did the one thing I thought I would never do. I fought the Brotherhood. For the first time in years I felt like I was doing the right thing. I turned to ice just after a threw a sword into his back to stop him from killing John, because that is how much he meant to me".

"And now?" Regina tried to brace herself for what the redhead was about to say, the look on her already told her what she needed to know. She still loved him, just as much as she once she did when she first spoke of him years ago.

"I'd do the same" she answered her soulmate in heart beat. Making the pre-teen listening on close his eyes in anguish for his mother before turning to leave to re-join the other's in the office. The hope he had of the pair finding each other again came a sudden stop.

"If we have any chance of saving Marian we need to work together. I know how to help her, but I can't.." the words got stuck in her throat as her mind tried to stop her from saying the words.

"What is it?"

"Her heart" the redhead gulped out "It was the last thing to freeze before.." she bring herself to say it, not out load "Take the heart out of the equation, then we'll have more time to figure out how to help her".

Regina quickly figured out what the assassin want her to do. It was drastic, but it could work "I can do that" she states silence engulfs the pair.

"You should go back, Robin was worried you left" with a small nod the redhead walked past the former Queen as the headed back upstairs only to hear her say something just as she reached the doors.

At that the former assassin leaves leaving the former Queen to think over what she had said to her she let out the tears that had been wanting to fall since Amelia had used true love's kiss on John.

With the tension diminished from the room after Amelia had returned with Regina, they re-focused on the task at hand which was the freezing woman on the sofa who had frost starting to form in her hair and face.

"The curse is working its way towards her heart. Once it touches... that's it" Regina broke the news to Amelia's friend making the redhead's heart tug for her friend.

Robin looked to Regina as she became the last shred of hope in the room "Is there nothing you can do?".

"There might be something" the redhead spoke up "Something that wasn't available for me when I was cursed" she says looking to her anguished friend "But only if you trust us completely".

"I do" the thief tells the woman. He trusted Amelia with all his heart and if she trusted Regina, he could too.

"Then I'll send Henry and Tom to my vault to get what I need" the former Queen informs the thief.

"Of course" he readily agreed "What are you going to do?.

Regina's eye's met Amelia's as she answered the thief's question "Something drastic".

John followed behind Emma, David as Will Scarlet took them back into main street to the parlor that still had frozen ice cream even after a blackout. He came to a sudden stop as he realized which ice cream parlor that Tom had taken him to that morning 'Any Given Sundae' as Emma peered through the shop blinds into the shop, seeing nothing wrong from the outside.

"I don't know" Emma drawled turning to Will "Looks pretty normal to me".

"It was bleeding cold in there, I'm telling you" Will argued to the blonde.

"Because they sell ice cream".

"During the blackout?" he retorted.

"Says the guy who's trying to avoid jail".

"I may be a thief, but I'm no liar and I can bloody well prove it" Will moves to the door taking out something to try and pick at the lock.

"Really?" David questioned the thief "You think breaking in again is gonna help your case?".

"Can you just be quiet a second, mate? I'm just trying to do this. Takes concentration. Bit tricky".

"We don't have all day" John stated as he moved passed the Prince shoving the thief onto the ground to grab the handle and with a hard tug broke it off the door breaking the lock and opening the door making Emma and David gape at him in disbelief.

"Something Amy taught me" the Captain told them as he let himself into the shop with Emma and David walking in behind him.

There wasn't anything different to the store he left a couple of hours ago, nothing out of place the only difference was that the woman Ingrid wasn't there. But something he did notice was the different mirrors that were on the wall all different shapes as he looked into them only to see his reflection in them.

"Emma, it doesn't look like..." David tried to tell his daughter only to get hushed.

"Wait. Shh. Listen" she quickly tells him as John tries to hear what ever she was trying to listen to only to hear nothing.

"I don't hear nothing" the former Captain tells her.

"Exactly. No compressor hum means no cooling system" she explains to the other "Smart ass here was telling the truth. Something's not right here".

"Check the back" Scarlet tells them "You'll see how right I am" at his direction Emma, David and John enter the large freezer to see it completely covered in frost and snow.

"Holy Shh-" the savoir trailed off only to get interrupted by the former Captain.

"Language" John scolds the female blonde making him cringe to himself. Amy was right. Emma and David looked at him in confusion he could only shrug his shoulders at them "Sorry. Bad habit".

"Well, look at that. Looks like we owe Will an apology" she says as they hear the bell above the door jingle.

"Son of a bitch" John growled out as he turns to run after the thief followed by Emma. Glancing to the cash register she see's it open and empty as the former Captain continued on his pursuit of the thief.

"He's gone" Emma says "And he didn't leave empty-handed"

"John, stop!" David called out the Captain who was already out of the door only to stop once he say he couldn't see Will Scarlet anywhere as he stood in the middle of the street trying to catch his breath. Everything seemed to be getting away from him nowadays.

As the adult waited for the boys to return with the item Regina would need for the next part of their plan, the former Queen opted to stay outside of the office while Amelia and Robin remained in her old office as Marian's entire body was encased in blue shimmering, glistening blue ice.

The redhead's mind wondered if she looked like this when the ice finally took over. Completely devoid of the features that made her human with only her likeness left behind to remind people how she looked like. Like a statue. This is what she looked like for those short few minutes before John used true love's kiss to save her for the rest of eternity.

What John could've looked like if the kiss hadn't worked.

"Roland's with Little John now" Robin informed his old friend as he walked into the room to retake his place over his wife next to her "I wish I could have told him I did everything I could".

"Even true love's kiss can't solve every problem" Amelia sighed out frustration for her friend.

"Well, there's a reason that kiss didn't work" Amelia looked up at the thief in interest at his words "And it's not what everyone thinks".

"Robin" she gulped knowing the answer.

"I'm in love with someone else" he admitted to her, looking straight into her eye's trying to convey the emotions he felt for her in that one sentence.

"Robin we've been through this already" she reminds him "We had our chance back home, but you-"

"I know, I know" he interrupts her "And there isn't a day that went by I didn't regret letting Angelo go-"

"Don't you dare lie to me" she almost growled at him through gritted teeth "Not now, not after what you told me before I got my memories back".

"You're right I don't regret it, because it stopped you from making a mistake you would regret in the end. The regret I know you now feel ever time you think about your old family".

"No, you knew how I felt about you when I was willing to give up everything because of how much I loved you, and the life we were planning on having together. I was willing to give up the woman I love for you, because that is how much our future meant to me". The former Queen outside couldn't help but overhear the pair inside her office. She still loved her. And it was tearing her apart. But there was still hope for the both of them, however slim.

"What about John?".

"All I know is that I can't lose him again" she tells the thief "seeing him frozen like that hurt so much it was like watching him go into the water again and I couldn't do anything about it. I don't know how to feel for him, but all I do know is that I will always love him".

"And the kiss?" he trailed off.

"I didn't expect it to work" she tells him "I think some part of me was hoping it wouldn't" she admitted to the man as the dams that had been quickly filling finally broke as her face contorted in pain the tears finally fell from her eyes. Deep down she loved John.

The woman in front of her managed to compose herself long enough to look back at the thief she once desperately wanted to start a life with only for the Black Widow to stop her

"I'm sorry I can't love you, but you have to go back to her. She's still your wife, you have to go back to her, its not fair on her, but this is how it is, and there's nothing I can do about it".

Robin gave her a meek nod in understanding leaving the pair in complete silence as she heard footsteps coming from outside the office.

"You really need to clean that vault out" Henry greeted his mother as he a Tom approached her "But we found it" he says taking a small wooden chest out of his backpack.

Leading the boys back into the office they found the pair after overhearing their conversation the redhead stood with her arms crossed over her chest as if she was holding herself together, the former Queen joined the pair putting herself in between the former assassin and the thief.

"You're sure you still want me to do this?" the former Queen asked the man.

Robin gulped knowing what had to be done. "Yes" he simply answered.

Taking in a deep breath the former Queen prepares herself before plunging her hand into Marian's ice covered chest making the redhead wince to herself making herself look away at what they were doing to try and save her life. Pulling her heart out the assassin's eyes squeezed shut as she heard the gentle thump of her friends heart, as she turned back to see her friend's heart in the safe hands of her soulmate.

"Well, the ice hasn't touched her heart yet. We can keep her alive" Regina tells the man before placing it in the box Henry and Tom had gotten for them.

"So, then, she'll simply stay like this? Alive but... Frozen?"

"Until we find a cure" the former Queen tells him "And I will find one" she promised them.

Returning to the apartment after the long day the small family settled down for the night as they ate silently at the dining table before Tom disappeared into his room, having sensed the tension between his parents from the argument he had heard through the wall that morning.

Much had been left unsaid between the pair after John had spent most of the afternoon trying to track down Will Scarlet. But the thief was better than the knowledge he had of tracking people on dry land.

He found himself relaxing on the sofa with a film that was playing on the television in front of him that his wife had put on instead of the dead silence that filled the apartment. His thoughts were on the events of that day. Going to the speak easy that morning to the horrible feeling that had crept up on him before his world went black, the next thing he knew he was wide awake again with his wife lips on his.

He only noticed Amelia's return when wine glass full of red liquid was put into his line of vision blocking out the people in the magical screen.

He looked up to see his wife on the other end of the wine glass with her own in her other hand, dressed down in only some shorts he had seen her wear to bed and a tank top while he was still fully dressed "Looked like you need it tonight" she stated to the man.

"Thanks" he told his wife taking the glass gratefully before she joined him on the sofa sat on her knees as he took a long sip of the wine, she shifted in her seat so that she was leaning her head on his shoulder. Placing his glass down he shifted so that his arm wrapped around her waist as she melted into his warm side.

"You really scared me today Cap" he heard her say as she tried to watch the screen in front of them.

"I know" he stated resting his nose in the crown of her head as he remembered ow scared he felt when she as cursed.

"I thought I lost you again" she admitted to the privateer.

"But you didn't" he retorted.

She took her head away from his so that she was looking straight into his eyes. He saw the tears that shined in her eyes that fought to keep back for the hundredth time that day.

"I can't keep fighting you on this" she started referring to their fight this morning "We can't keep doing this, its only going to tear us apart. The only person we're going to hurt is Tom" he broke their eye contact thinking about what this would do to their son, ashamed that their son had heard every word of their heated conversation. Her warm hand cupped his face making him listen to the answer she should've given this morning.

"I tried to fight falling in love with her, I really did" he heard the crack in her voice as continued "But I couldn't fight it anymore. The thought of letting you go tore me apart, but I had to, before the grief completely consumed me whole. I don't want something like today to make me remember what I thought I lost. I can't lose you again" the admission made him finally look up to meet her eye's again grasping the hand that rested on is face with his larger one.

"I can't lose you either" he sniffed grasping her left hand holding the ring that sat on her ring finger, the one he placed on her finger in Arendelle "When I gave you this, I promised you that I would protect you for the rest of my life and I failed that night, I would do anything to go back and fight harder against them but.." he stopped himself, he couldn't tell her about the deal he made with her Uncle, not just yet. He needed to speak to the Dark One before he said anything about it.

"But we can't" she tells him "Its impossible, that night set us both on paths that would take us apart. But the impossible happened, I have you here with me now and that's what matter's the most. All we can do now is move forward"

John paused thinking over the words until a sad smile quirked on his lips. He wanted to move on with her more than anything. Regina or not, he wanted his family again.

"I can do that" he told her closing the distance between them he sealed their promise to move forward with their lives with a kiss that was mirrored through their tears until the pulled apart with their noses grazing together "I love you" he tells her.

"I love you too" she replied before leaving a loving kiss on the corner of his lips. The strong man lent back on the arm of sofa holding his wife close to him as she crawled on top of him comfortably lying her head on top of his beating heart like she had done a thousand times before closing her eye's as he did the same.
