In the afternoon, I was on my way to the village to go to the library to meet up with Levy. That's the number one thing she and I do in the village. Her parents own the library shop and the only thing she has to do there is put the books back in their sections. I sometimes would help her organize the books and furniture. Maybe after we get done in the library I could put a few books in my basket.

She read almost every book in that store unlike me who only read certain books. It had inspired me to become an author as well. I'm writing about my life and the events that follow along. Levy always asks me when I'm done with my chapters so that way she can read them. I'm flattered that she likes to read and give input on it, but it can be so stressful. But that's what I need if I'm going to reach my goal.

As I looked ahead I see Rogue who was covering something upon his body. When I got into close contact with him I excitedly said: "Hi Rogue!" and he jumped at the sound of my voice. He turned around quickly to face me. He was holding on to his arm and keeping it close to him as if he didn't want it to be seen.

"Hey, Lucy!" he lowly said in a painful tone. "You still patrolling?" I asked trying to make conversation. "Yeah, " he told me still holding on to his arm. He was so stiff as if he didn't want to move an inch. "Why do you stay out here during the day instead of getting some rest like the other huntsmen?" I asked quite concerned. "I simply don't believe in getting rest with what's going on, " he said.

"Yeah but the wolf only comes out at night, so you can rest during the day, " I suggested as he started to chuckle. "What's so funny?" I asked a bit curious. "You really believe that the wolf only comes out at night?" he asked in amusement. "That's what the people in the village say, " he started to chuckle some more as if what I said wasn't true.

"No that's what the people in the village are aware of because some of them seen it with their own two eyes and have proof that it comes out at night, " he explained. "It lurks in the day time too, just in disguise," he mumbled the last part. "Disguise?" I re-questioned him as he nodded. "That's ridiculous Rogue," I said not believing that a wolf can be in disguise during the daytime.

"I'm not surprised," he crossed his arms. "Why you say that?" I asked getting a bit offended. "Because you're the only one I know who fully doesn't believe the wolf exists," he exclaimed. "I do believe the wolf exists," I retorted. "No, you don't because if you did then you wouldn't make unsure comments. You living apart from the village your whole life has kept you questioning if the wolf exists or not while others that live in the village are fully aware of its existence," he explained.

"Can you blame me for questioning its existence? Don't you think maybe who could be eating the sacrifice and attacking people out in the open is a normal-sized wolf?" I asked him a bit frustrated as he shook his head. "I highly doubt that because there would be a difference in the damage it cost," he disagreed with me. "Fine, but since the wolf could be lurking out here in the woods in disguise then would you mind walking me to the village?" I asked emphasizing the word lurking as he was surprised. "I wouldn't mind, that's one of the reasons I'm out here," he said as I blushed at the last thing he said.

As we were walking in silence I was looking down at the ground. I didn't know what to say to him because I was nervous. He seemed a bit upset when we were talking about the wolf's existence. I observed Rogue without him noticing and looked at his face. torso, arms, and bottoms. I looked closely at his face to see he had dry faded blood on the side of his mouth and he was still holding on to his arm.

"What happened to your arm?" I asked him as he looked at it. "I uh umm accidentally cut myself," he said thinking his statement out. "Ok, what about that red stuff on the side of your mouth?" I asked. He was confused about what I was talking about until I pointed at it. Rogue pulled out a sharp item to see his reflection. "Oh, that's from eating... pomegranate; you know how it gets messy when you snack on those," he told me as I could relate. It does get everywhere when you eat them. "Ok that's understandable," I told him as he agreed with me.

"Did you hear a wolf howl last night?" I asked since he was in the area. "Yeah, but it was close by the other huntsmen," he told me. "Do they ever get upset that you're far away from the village?" I asked quite curious. "No not really, they don't mind me going past the limit since there are people who live around the area, like you and your grandmother," he explained. "I'm surprised we haven't been attacked by the wolf, nobody would notice if we were gone if he did attack us," he looked taken back by my response and said: "I would notice because I see you almost every day, you're the only person I like to talk too."

I felt my face heat up at his response because it was so sweet. I wouldn't want me and my grandma to be in danger, but I don't think the wolf comes around our area. I was scared last night on my way home. I felt like someone was watching me from afar. "I have a question from last night?" he asked as I looked at him. "What would that be?" I asked. "Why were you so scared of me last night?" he asked a bit hurt. "What, I wasn't scared of you, I will admit you surprised me because you came out of nowhere, but I saw a tall figure in the dark," I explained to him. "Oh sorry if I startled you," he said as I responded: "It's okay!" we had made it to the village where I barely saw anybody around.

"Where's everybody at?" I was confused because there was nobody here. "I don't know they might still be sleeping," he said as we walked around. Both of us kept walking until we saw a big crowd in the middle of the village. "I wonder what happened," I could hear my heart beating as I looked at the shattered bones on the ground and big bloody paw prints.

"Somebody died," he said catching on to the scene. Rogue and I started to rush over to the crowd where it was bunched up. When the people saw Rogue they had made space for him to pass through since he was a huntsman. I followed him because I was curious about who had died. As I looked at the people all they did was look down in sadness when they saw my face. Why are they looking at me like that?

When Rogue and I made it to the front we saw three bodies. Two were dead and one was strongly injured. Those people who were sadly dead were Jet and Droy. The last person wasn't dead, but painfully suffering from the attack, and that was none other than Levy McGarden. I felt my eyes water up as I stared at her. Her parents were crying and the doctor was checking to see if she was still alive. "Levy!" I hiccuped as I walked towards her.

I was stopped by one of the hunters, who was the father of Erza. "Red you might want to stay back," he said humbly as I shook my head. "No, where is she going?" I asked, concerned. He told me, "They're taking her to the clinic so they can try and save her life," "Can I come, I want to be by her side, please?" I pleaded before he let me through, as he was uncertain about it. I followed them to the clinic, trying to keep back my tears. A bunch of questions kept running through my head. The main one was if she was going to survive and be alright.

They had to sit her body down on the bed when they made it to the clinic. At first, when they realized who I was, they wouldn't let me sit with her. I could not help but take a glimpse at her body as the doctor was examining her. She had huge scratches across her body and bite marks that were ten times the size of a regular wolf's. They had to wrap her up in bandages to keep her from getting an infection.

I even had to leave the room because the investigator had to talk with her since she was barely awake. As I was in the waiting room I couldn't help but look at the clock as time went by. The ticking had a little effect on my anxiety. I was trying to hold myself together from shaking in fear. I had to play with my fingers to keep myself calm. The entrance from the door was met by Rogue who was all cleaned up. He was holding his arm like before; it was as if nothing happened to it.

"You okay?" he asked sitting right next to me. "No, I'm worried about the results," I shook my head. I felt him put his arm around my shoulder and brought me close to his torso. He smelled like white oak which was very rare. "It's okay, I believe Levy will be able to push through," he told me. The doctor and investigator came out of the room Levy was resting in. "How is she doing doctor?" I immediately asked getting out of my seat.

"She's not doing well, but she requested to talk to you," he told me. I looked at Rogue as he gestured me towards Levy's room. I slowly walked towards her room to slowly open the door. She was laying in bed with a towel over her head breathing a bit too hard. I closed the door behind me to see her open her eyes when I looked back at her.

"Hey, Levy!" I quietly greeted her as she weakly waved at me. I sat down in the chair close by her bed so we can talk better. "What happened?" I worriedly asked her. "The wolf came," she started to shake. "What happened, I thought you went home," I asked her once again. "It was nighttime and Jet and Droy were still outside at night," she said a bit shaky. "Doing what, tying the sacrifice up?" I asked as she shook her head. "They both were drunk, yelling out in the open, and I was worried about the two of them so I went outside to convince them to come back in," she told me as I was taken back.

Levy was the main person who would tell me to stay inside at night. I know she was worried about the two of them, but she suffers the consequences because of their impulsive behavior. "What happened next?" I asked as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "Jet decided to bad mouth the wolf and Droy encouraged him to keep going while I still tried to get them to go inside to safety. When we were close by their houses that's when it came out. It attacked Jet first and then Droy. I should have been running but I was struck by fear and couldn't move from my spot. So when it spotted me it scratched then bit me. I had to pretend I was dead so it could stop, but it didn't until the huntsmen were coming," she explained.

"Do you know what it looked like?" I asked her as she nodded. "It was a big black wolf that stood over us, it had red bloody eyes of evil, sharp teeth, and a howl that was louder than lighting," she described it. That was probably what I heard when I was at home, but it was nighttime. "Levy when did it happen?" I asked her. "It happened at nighttime an hour or two after you left," she told me. "I did hear a wolf howl when I got home," I told her as she paused.

"I saw a tall figure in the night but it was just Rogue. On my way here he had told me the wolf can be in disguise as a human," I told her as she slowly sat up in her bed. "How could he know all that?" she suspiciously asked. "I don't know I didn't believe it at first but it could be possible that the wolf could be a human," I told her as she seemed to be in deep thought. "Well if the wolf could disguise himself and be a human then it's mostly likely Rogue," she told me as I was taken back.

"How can it be Rogue, he's one of the huntsmen," I told her as she rolled her eyes. "Lu-chan that explains even more what's going on. He's the only person around here that fits the description of the wolf. He has red bloody eyes!" she told me as I shook my head. "Levy that doesn't mean anything, anybody, around here can have red bloody eyes," I told her as she crossed her arms. "Oh really then name one person other than Rogue who has red eyes?" she asked as I was thinking of who other than Rogue had red eyes.

Surprisingly I didn't know anybody other than Rogue who had red eyes. "You can't think of anybody can you?" she asked me. "No, but Levy don't quickly assume it's Rogue," I told her as she rolled her eyes. "Lu-chan he was the only huntsmen that didn't show up to the scene, he seemed like he was trying to hide his arm when he came, he had red faded stuff on the side of his cheek, and he's the only one that stays away from others, does that not ring a bell that he's the wolf?" she asked a bit frustrated.

"You should get home the sun is about to go down soon, " she said looking away from me. "Yeah I'll see you tomorrow, " I said leaving her room. I just don't like how she accuses Rogue of being the wolf. I know she is looking after my safety, but come on that is ridiculous. Although, it could be true, but would Rogue even do something like that?

I looked around to see her parents in their chairs asleep. I was going to tell them something, but I had to get home. I still had seen the crowd circling the center of the village when I made it outside. I walked over to see that the one who asked questions concerning Levy was about to speak. "People of Magnolia, as you know there was an incident that followed last night with two of our people dead and one that is still barely alive. We kindly ask you to stay indoors safe and sound so there wouldn't be problems like this that happens. We have our huntsmen here to protect you just in case the wolf comes. I was told unexpected information that the wolf could be in disguise as a human, so I warn you to be careful of who you might hang around. If you find anything suspicious about someone I encourage you to immediately report back to us. Have a safe night and remember to stay indoors." Mest sternly said.

I looked up at the sky to see the sun was about to go down. I gotta get home fast. Without nobody notice, I had ran into the woods. As I was running you could hear the crunching noise of sticks, the crickets chirping, birds not making noise, the sun quickly going down, and my breathing. I didn't want to experience the same thing Levy experienced. If it had done that much damage to her then it wasn't safe to be outside from the beginning.

I notice that I didn't have my basket in my hand. I stopped and looked back to debate if I should go back and get it. My grandma will be a bit upset if I tell her I forgot it. She'll understand when I tell her what happened today. I turned right back around to be met with Rogue. I jumped at his presence. How did he get here so quickly with my basket in his hand? "You forgot this at the clinic, but you left so I was going to return it to you," he said as I was looking at his eyes.

He was the only guy that had red eyes. As he was talking his teeth did look a bit pointy and sharp. Maybe that red stuff on the side of his mouth could have been blood. Then he was holding his arm for some odd reason. That seemed like he made up his stories this morning about both his arm and cheek. I quickly snatched the basket away from Rogue: "Thank you Rogue for your kindness, I gotta get home," I awkwardly laughed backing away from him. "Do you want me to walk you home?" he asked as I shook my head. "No, I'm good!" I yelled running away from him.

I know that was rude of me, but I can't trust him. Rogue is showing strong signs of being the wolf. He even said it himself that it could be in disguise. I wasn't paying that much attention to my surroundings until I was yanked by something. I was on the ground out of breath from running to look back to see the end of my hood caught on a thin branch. Slowly as I got up off the ground I went to go pull the ends of my hood off the branch until I heard a strange voice: "Why are you in such a rush?" I looked back to see a tall figure. He had long black hair that was spiky, tan skin, pierced eyebrows, red bloody eyes, sharp teeth, and a muscular-shaped body.

"I'm trying to get to my grandma's house," I told him pulling the ends of my hood of the branch. "Ah I see," he said looking down. "I must get home before it gets dark," I told him as he said: "Yes it's dangerous out here in these woods but get back to your grandma's house safely, gihee!" he chuckled for some odd reason. I started to walk away and sneakily looking back at him.

That was odd I never seen him before. I'm told to never talk to strangers but it would have been rude if I didn't say anything. It's shocking to me because I've never seen him before. Actually, I haven't seen anybody around the woods this far out except Rogue and my grandma, but she rarely leaves the house.

He might just be a merchant; we have those come in all the time. The way he was dressed says otherwise. He wasn't dressed professionally, he was dressed in all black and didn't have the approaching appearance. Most of them are dressed in matching attire that has rich fabric.

Then his hair didn't look its best, it's like he doesn't do anything to manage it. His eyebrows didn't have hair on them. They were deep piercings and it was odd because I've never seen anybody's eyebrows like that. I wonder if he was born with them or he did something to them.

I looked at the sun to see it was setting. I looked ahead to see my grandma's house in a dark atmosphere. It wasn't the warm welcome I was used to coming home to. Something didn't feel right as I stood at the entrance of our house. It was about to be dark so I entered the house. "Grandma I'm home!" I said closing the door. "Grandma?" I called out because she didn't say anything. "Grandma where are you?" I asked looking around the house until I spotted her in her bed.

"There you are," I smiled looking at her. She sat up in bed: "Hi Red, I'm glad you got home in time," she lowly said. Her voice sounded so...different. "Grandma are you okay, are you sick?" I asked a bit worried about getting close to her until she stuck her hand out for me to stop. "I'm fine dear just a little... sleepy from my slumber," she paused for a second to think her response through.

I looked at my grandma closely to see there was something different about her appearance. She looked the same but at the same time, she didn't. I looked at her ears to see they were a bit pointy, "Grandma what big ears you have," "All the better to hear you with," she rubbed them. They started to unexpectedly get to her regular size she had before which was odd. I wonder how she made her ears get small.

I looked at her eyes to see they were a bit huge and red. Her eyes have always been brown, but they were bloody red. "Oh Grandma, what big eyes you have," I could hear my heart beating because her eyes were red and big just like Levy described them. "All the better to see you with," she covered them as I took a few steps back without her noticing. When she removed her hands from her eyes they were big brown orbs once again.

She smiled at me and I couldn't help but look at her teeth. They were so big and pointy! My grandma has never had pointy teeth before, never in her life. I looked at her face to see hair slowly appearing along with her hair changing colors to black. "Oh Grandma, what- big teeth you have," I hesitated as she evilly smiled at me. She looked down and started to laugh for no reason. "All the better to" she looked at me "to eat you with!" she said with her voice changing from a woman to man.

I gasped at her sudden comment then started to back away from her as she got out of bed. She was getting hairier, taller, her eyes changed colors to red, her teeth got, even more, bigger, her face stretched out making it look disoriented. "Grandma, what's happening to you?" I asked in fear of going to the closet. She kept an ax in the closet just in case we had trespassers. I opened the closet door to grab it, but instead, I saw her dead body fall out of the closet. I stared in fear at her body that was pouring blood from her insides.

I screamed cause I couldn't handle what I was seeing. My grandma was dead, dead I tell you! I looked up bewildered at the woman who looked like my grandma to see she wasn't looking like her anymore. It looked like a man yet a wolf. The wolf started to perfectly match Levy's description: it was big, black, had red bloody eyes, pointy teeth, and it was bad.

I grabbed the ax out of my grandma's closet. The wolf started to laugh at me. "Who are you? Rogue is that you?" I asked in anger. The wolf laughed some more as it made my blood boil. "It is isn't it, I knew I should have listened to Levy you sick bastard," I hissed. "You're so naive!" the wolf said as I couldn't take it anymore. I ran towards him and swung as hard as I could across his body.

I thought I succeeded cause there was blood dripping. I even backed up a couple of feet to throw it at his chest. "Ah look what you have done," he calmly said looking at the ax. It was there for a couple of seconds until he removed it. To my surprise, he started to heal very fast. Is he immortal? I had to get out of here before he kills me. There was an opening to get past him. I looked around to spot the fireplace and a torch my grandma kept.

I grabbed the torch to set the top on fire. "STAY BACK!" I demanded as he angrily looked at me. He dared had walked forward to me so I threw the torch at him and made a run for it out the door. I can't believe I set my grandma's house on fire with her dead body lying there. I looked back to see the wolf coming out of the house a bit burnt, but he slowly started to heal.

I ran from the house that was about to burn down to the ground. I couldn't look back it would slow me down. As long as I look forward ahead he won't catch up to me. Out of nowhere, he jumped on one of the trees I was about to run past. What type of wolf is this? I knew its size was different from other wolves but I didn't know their physical ability was. This made me question, did God create this, or was it the Devil himself?

I changed directions and went another way. I honestly didn't know where I was running to. All I knew was that I was trying to get away from the wolf. My legs were getting weak, I was tired and almost out of breath. They were really giving up on me to the point I fell to the ground. Crawling wasn't even an option cause I was too weak to even do that.

"Gihee you can't run anymore can you Bunny Girl," he chuckled. "Stay away from me," I tried my best to move. "I don't think so, I don't show mercy to what I like to prey on," he stood over me with an evil smirk on his face and his eyes glowed bloody red. I couldn't contain the images I was seeing to the point I was feeling dizzy, weak, hot, and nauseous. I felt my body just shut down from all the action that was happening. Is this what happens when you die?
