It was a rainy day, everybody was indoors trying to keep dry, and the village gave off a gloomy vibe. Levy sat in Gildarts office nervously tapping her feet. It took her almost two months to sit in front of Gildarts and talk about the topic.
She wondered why it was so hard for the words to come out of her mouth. But she couldn't back down now, the opportunity was right in front of her. This was her only shot to bring Rogue Cheney to justice.
He came to Levy for questions and she was nervous at the moment so Porlyusica had to tell Gildarts to give her space. Now that she has had time to process this she was ready to tell Gildarts her side of the story.
She flinched as she heard the door open to his office. She looked behind her to see it was Gildarts himself who opened the door.
"Levy, long time no see," he said walking over to his desk. "Are you finally ready to talk?" Gildarts asked as she nodded.
"Good!" Gildarts said taking a seat. Levy gave him an odd look asking: "Why are you all of a sudden trying to get input from me about Rogue?"
Gildarts rubbed the back of his neck because he didn't know how to answer her question. "I told almost everybody my theory but none of you wanted to listen to me because you all thought I was crazy," Levy said.
"Well, Levy at the time you didn't have full proof that Rogue was the wolf," Gildarts retorted. "Yeah, but I gave you clues that lead to his suspicion. I bet you all started to realize what I was talking which is why you brought me in for questioning," she argued.
Gildarts sighed as he couldn't argue with Levy at this point. Levy noticed his tense figure and she was going to take advantage of it to get the truth.
"Tell me Gildarts, why did you really bring me here, is it really for questioning about Rogue Cheney?" Levy sternly asked.
"You know what I'm not going to play nice about this, the reason we brought you here Levy is that part of your theories are becoming true," Gildarts said making Levy cock her eye.
"What do you mean part of my theories?" Levy questioned. "What I mean is that almost three months ago we caught Rogue having odd behavior. I'm sure you heard of some of our hunters that were missing over the past couple of days at that time?" Gildarts inquired.
"Yes, I heard about the missing of some of them, but what does this have to do with Rogue, did he kill them?" Levy worriedly asked. Gildarts looked down in sadness and then took a deep breath.
"The men that went missing were all found in his basement found dead and we witnessed him killing his own best friend with a bunch of other hunters dead in the area. According to the other hunters passing by he and his best friend had got into an argument about his suspicion of being the wolf," Gildarts informed.
"Oh my God...he actually killed his best friend, Sting?" Levy shockingly questioned. Gildarts nodded: "It pained me to see him repeatedly doing it over and over again while screaming like a manic."
"Yeah, but how could someone like that kill their best friend and other innocent people, you'd have to be cold-blooded to pull stunts like that. He has taken away men from their families. I see women every day who have kids become more depressed by the second," Levy sadly spoke.
"How come this hasn't been exposed to the public, people need to know all the murders that were committed were by him?" Levy questioned. "Levy, we can't expose him or even bring him to justice until we have a witness from here," Gildarts said.
"A witness, I have never seen Rogue kill and hide bodies," Levy argued.
"I know, but you have seen him in wolf form, right?" Gildarts asked as Levy nodded. "I'm not fully sure, but all the features of the wolf are similar to his human appearance, so it has to be true it was him that night that attacked me. There is also when he splits apart from the village, he has more information about the wolf than you guys do, and he never shows up to the scenes," Levy exclaimed.
"You see, you have enough proof to bring Rogue to justice, and the public can debate if they want to keep him imprisoned or execute him," Gildarts said.
"But if I'm the witness people are going to think this is a joke," Levy said a bit scared at the idea. "That's because they think you are delusion, but if we put your evidence and our evidence together then people will see where we are coming from. You've seen Rogue up close in his wolf form while we've seen him kill the other hunters. This is a win-win for both of us and the village because we can finally stop what's been happening for hundreds of years," Gildarts clarified.
"You're right! We get what we both want in this case of scenario," Levy said smirking. "Exactly!" Gildarts said giving Levy an agreeing look.
"So where is Rogue at? I haven't seen him in any of the cells when I passed by here," Levy questioned. "We couldn't put Rogue in the cells, we had to put him somewhere else," Gildarts said making Levy curious.
"Where else would you put him?" Levy asked.
Gildarts grabbed a key from one of his drawers and got up from his seat. "Follow me!" he simply spoke as Levy got out of her seat. Gildarts and Levy started heading downstairs towards the basement.
All Levy started to see was darkness until Gildarts had light up a torch. "Is he somewhere around here?" Levy questioned getting a bit scared. "No!" Gildarts said getting down on his knees and unlocking something at the bottom.
He opened what had looked like part of the floor to reveal unstable wooden stairs. It was still dark down there and Gildarts started slowly going down.
Levy had hesitantly followed as she feared what she might see. Was Rogue in his wolf form, were there a bunch of dead bodies with him, or did he have an evil aura?
Her questions were answered when she saw him chained up. The chains were glowing purple, Rogue looked in pain, and like he hadn't eaten in months.
"What are those?" Levy fearfully asked hiding behind Gildarts. "Those are chains that the Capitol sent us in which they call the misery chains. Years ago we reported to them about our problem with the wolf and instead of sending help as we requested they sent us those instead. These chains are supposed to block any magic power or physical form he tries to turn into. If he does try then he'll be shocked," Gildarts said explaining about the chains.
"Has it been going off a lot?" Levy questioned. "At the beginning it was but now he just sits in that position," Gildarts clarified.
"Do you think I can have a moment to talk to him?" Levy questioned making Gildarts give her an odd look. "I wouldn't recommend it, Levy, there's no telling what he can do," Gildarts said unsure.
"Please Gildarts, there is just something I have to say to him, or I'll never get this weight off my shoulders," Levy pleaded. Gildarts looked back at her and Rogue and then decided to give in. "You can talk, but I'm going to be far," Gildarts said leaving the torch on a holder.
Gildarts had finally left Levy alone with a chained-up Rogue. Levy started to slowly make her way over to Rogue to see his head was still down. She decided to keep a safe distance because she didn't fully trust the misery chains would contain him.
Levy couldn't help but smile: "You finally got caught! How does it feel to be locked up down here, soon with everybody knowing who the real monster is? My question is why would you kill all of these people?"
Rogue slowly lifted his head to reveal crusty lips, long hair that had little white, black marks forming on one of his eyes, and cheeky bones that were showing from lack of food.
"I didn't kill anybody," Rogue lowly spoke.
"Don't try to lie, they all caught you swinging an ax at your best friend's body, other huntsmen dead, and the remaining that went missing in your basement dead," Levy exclaimed.
"I was set up, I would never do anything like that," Rogue argued.
"By who Rogue, nobody knows where you live, and it all makes sense now. You're so secretive, the only time people see you is at night, you never show up to the scenes, and you keep to yourself like you're hiding something," Levy exclaimed.
"Why don't you ask your little boyfriend, what's his name, Gajeel!" Rogue said looking her dead in the eyes.
"Gajeel wouldn't do anything like that," Levy said defending Gajeel. "Think again bookworm, you're so dickmatized by this asshole it's ridiculous," Rogue said raising his voice.
"Have you ever wondered how he just all of a sudden showed up in this village, did you ever stop to think if you've seen him around growing up? Everybody knows each other around here and no one new enters this village because of our problem," Rogue truthfully spoke.
"You say I look similar to the wolf because of my black hair, red eyes, and pointy teeth; you do realize Gajeel has all the same features that you point out about me. You think that you guys have some type of unspoken bond but in reality, you're just a side piece he can care less about. Have you ever wondered why he is so interested in hearing about your best friend, Lucy?" Rogue spoke making Levy feel at unease.
"Shut up!" she shouted trying to hold in her tears.
"Take it in; maybe since you're so convinced that he grew up here in this village, he might have a thing for your best friend instead of you, which is why he always asks about her when you guys are talking. Lucy didn't have any other family members around here except her grandmother who is dead so you were the closest person to her. Maybe when you guys are having sex he pictures her instead of you," Rogue spat out making Levy so mad that she reached out and slapped him across the face.
"Shut up!" she yelled now crying. This caused Gildarts to immediately come downstairs to check what was going on. He had seen Levy crying and Rogue in silence laughter from Levy's slap.
"Come on Levy!" Gildarts said grabbing Levy. They both started heading upstairs and she heard Rogue yell: "You know you can't ignore it Levy because it's true as day and night."
"SHUT UP, YOU'RE A LIAR AND A COLD-BLOODED KILLER, I DON'T KNOW HOW LUCY FELL FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU...YOU SHOULD RECEIVE THE WORST DEATH PENALTY TO EVER EXIST IN HISTORY FOR YOUR BAD DEEDS...I HOPE YOU ENJOY ROTTING IN HELL!" Levy shouted in distress.
Gildarts was able to pull Levy from the area Rogue was in and she fell crying on the ground. Gildarts tried to comfort Levy as she cried: "He murdered all my friends and people I grew up knowing. He's the devil, he's the devil, HE'S THE DEVIL!"
"Please kill him!" Levy cried.
