A hungry and scratched-up man sat down in the deep basement. He hadn't cut his hair in months, so it was long. His hair began to turn white unexpectedly, leaving only one black part that fell over his eye.

Rogue Cheney felt so betrayed by his fellow huntsmen. He was upset because they didn't believe that he was set up by Gajeel. He would never think about killing any men and taking them away from their families.

He knew sooner or later the people in the village were going to have him executed. Levy and Gildarts were planning on exposing him and knowing Levy she would follow through with bringing him to justice.

He always knew from the beginning she hated his guts. After over a year she still believed that he killed Lucy. He never knew why she would assume he would do anything to harm Lucy.

He wanted to tell her that Lucy was alive but he knew that Gajeel came around Levy a lot. Knowing Levy she couldn't keep a secret. She would try to immediately ask him about the situation exposing Lucy and leaving herself in danger.

Even though Levy wanted him dead, he didn't wish the same thing upon her. Deep down he couldn't put anybody in harm's of the situation. Lucy would be devastated if she found out her best friend was dead because he couldn't keep a secret.

He already had hurt her once when he told her Gajeel and Levy were sleeping together. Levy had no idea of the situation but Lucy did. It made him upset when he saw her break down that day he told her.

She was having his baby and he decided to sleep with her best friend. He was probably still doing it while she was carrying his second child. Or it could be Rogue's baby.

It scared him that Lucy was possibly close to her due date with the baby. Rogue was also worried that the baby might not be Gajeel's meaning putting Lucy in danger.

Rogue had to find a way to get out of here before the baby was born. He couldn't let Lucy suffer anymore.

Upstairs from the basement Levy and Gildarts were chatting in his office. They didn't seem to be having the best progress in their plan to bring Rogue to justice.

"What do you mean we can't expose him to the public?" Levy exclaimed as Gildarts sighed. "Levy please calm down," Gildarts pleaded as Levy glared at him.

"How can I calm down Gildarts, keeping Rogue imprisoned isn't enough to bring him to justice," Levy argued. "What if he escapes and continues killing people as he did from before?" Levy questioned.

"He won't escape Levy, those chains should keep him down," Gildarts tried to assure.

"Yeah, but for how long Gildarts? How long is it gonna take for him to plan to get out of those chains and escape back into the woods? Once you guys have to go back on patrol again and another person gets killed the blood is going to be on your hands because you didn't finish the job in the first place," Levy exclaimed.

"Levy, it's not as easy as it seems. We can't just kill Rogue without public approval," Gildarts argued. "Then why not just go ask the people?" Levy immediately questioned.

"Because we have to first let them acknowledge no one has been killed around here lately," Gildarts said.

"That'll take way too long Gildarts, nobody notices Rogue's presence, why don't you just get it over with and expose him now. Call the journalist and the detective and let them fucking know about the news," Levy exclaimed glaring at Gildarts.

"Levy before we can kill Rogue we have to make sure he's the wolf," Gildarts issued. "What do you mean to make sure he's the wolf it's obvious he is the wolf Gildarts?" Levy questioned confused about what Gildarts said.

"Yes, but we have never seen him transform into the wolf Levy," Gildarts argued. "The clues are all there Gildarts," Levy pointed out.

"I know that, but there is one thing missing; we have to see it for ourselves. We have to see Rogue himself transform into the wolf," Gildarts informed.

"I thought you guys did see him in his wolf form," Levy said. "Yes we've seen him in his wolf form but we haven't seen him transform into his wolf form," Gildarts spoke again.

"Then why did you arrest him?" Levy questioned.

"We arrested him because we saw him swinging an ax at his fellow huntsmen's dead bodies. For all we know Rogue could be the wolf or just a cold-blooded murder," Gildarts said.

"Does he still get executed?" Levy questioned.

"Not unless he does it again and we get public approval," Gildarts answered.

"So there is still a possible way?" Levy questioned again to be sure.

"Yes, but I highly doubt he'll try to escape and kill anybody. Those chains shouldn't break unless he does something," Gildarts tried to assure.

"Well, that's comforting to know," Levy mumbled.

"Look it can't be done unless we either get proof or if he does it again." Gildarts finally spoke.

"Okay, understandable," Levy struggled to say.

"You should probably get home it's about to be nighttime," Gildarts suggested as Levy nodded.

"Alright!" Levy sighed as she got up from her seat. "See you later Gildarts," Levy said her goodbyes as she left his office. "You too Levy," Gildarts tiredly spoke.

As Levy made her way out of the prison she could see empty cells and dusty weapons. You could tell the huntsmen have been taking a break and being careless about the situation.

She just sighed and left the building heading home. It wasn't far away since she lived in a small village.

Levy looked around as she saw people blinded about their surroundings. It angered her that Gildarts and the other huntsmen didn't want to expose Rogue.

They had him contained and they still didn't want to follow through with the plan. It was sad that the huntsmen still couldn't be dependent on even during their greatest achievement.

Levy started to wonder what was the justice system turning into. Sure they were protecting the people and trying to keep it on the down-low but they weren't executing the problem.

When Levy looked up she had realized she finally made it to the library. The walk she was taking had seemed so long for her. She opened the door to the entrance and saw her dad at the front counting coins.

"Hey, Dad!" Levy softly greeted her father. "Hi Sweetheart, you made it home just in time," he said with a positive attitude.

"What are you doing?" she asked walking up to the counter seeing him put all the coins in a little baggy. "I was counting Gajeel's money," he answered tying the bag up.

"Wait, Gajeel's here today?" Levy asked perking up. "Yeah, he came in a couple of hours ago to stack up the books that came in today," he said.

"Oh wow, that's surprising, I haven't seen him in a while, it's like he disappeared," Levy said surprised. "He could just be busy doing other things, Levy. This is only a part-time job where we don't need him often," Mr. McGarden said.

"Oh okay," she slowly spoke. "By the way, speaking of disappearing, where were you at all day? You've been disappearing yourself for the past couple of weeks," Mr. McGarden questioned.

"I've been trying to get out and speak to my friends again," Levy answered lying. She was going behind her parent's back to speak with Gildarts about exposing Rogue but that didn't seem to be progressing.

"Oh really, that's good," he said smiling as Levy couldn't help but not feel right about lying to her dad. He came from around the counter to give her a big warm hug. "I'm so glad you're making progress. You came a long way from a year ago," he said with a big smile.

"I sure did!" she said awkwardly laughing. "I remember you were so heartbroken that Lucy, Jet, and Droy had died, then you went into a huge assumption that Rogue was the wolf, then you had to go to therapy to help you, and it is helping you, then you started to reconnect with your friends again, and I'm just glad you're making progress," he said parting away from her.

"Yeah!" she said just smiling.

"I feel like the area is starting to become safer. There hasn't been nobody dead for a couple of months now," Mr. McGarden said sounding relieved.

"Yeah, you're right!" Levy said.

"But we can't let our guard down, the wolf might still be out there," he said as Levy perked up. "You're right, it could still be out there," Levy spoke.

"Yeah, but before you leave, could you give this money to Gajeel? I don't want him to leave without it," Mr. McGarden politely asked.

"Sure I don't mind giving this to Gajeel," she said taking the bag and heading downstairs. Levy was so excited to see Gajeel because she hadn't seen him in a long time.

She only sees him at the library. She was surprised she never caught him walking around the village. He always keeps to himself.

Whenever they talked he never mentioned anybody around the village except Rogue. At first, she was surprised someone like him would take the time of day to notice Rogue.

But as they both talked about him she started to see more of his hatred towards him. It's almost as if he had a bone to pick with him. She kinda wondered what did Rogue do to get on Gajeel's bad side.

When she finally made it downstairs she had seen Gajeel pulling some books out of the box. Her heart automatically skipped a beat. Levy had taken a liking to Gajeel since their first encounter.

She remembered it like it was yesterday when she first met him at the bar. She was depressed because all three of her best friends died from the wolf's attack and she was the only survivor who had soon become traumatized.

So to ease off the pain she decided to go drink. Her parents had always told her alcohol was bad but at the time she didn't care. She just wanted to forget it had all happened.

Levy had gone when she knew Gildarts wasn't going to be around. If he had seen her there he would have told Cana not to give her alcohol. But Cana being drunk on a daily basis made it easy for her to drink.

When she became tipsy that's where Gajeel had come in at. He ordered some hard liquor and started flirting with her when she was drinking. Normally she would tell guys like him to go get lost but she was in need of a good time.

So she let Gajeel keep flirting and one thing lead to another. She ended up losing her virginity in the public restroom. Luckily nobody was there since everybody was still at work.

You would think this would be a one-time thing, but it continued when he started working at the library. They did it almost every time when he came to work most days. She was surprised her parents never found out. Her dad would die if he found out.

"Hey, Gajeel!" Levy greeted pushing back her nervousness. "Sup," he casually said still taking out the books.

"I haven't seen you in a while, where have you been?" she nicely asked him. It was no secret that she had missed Gajeel.

"I just been at home. There wasn't anything for me to carry in here so I decided to wait till boxes started coming in," he casually explained.

"Oh, so what have you been up to?" she asked trying to start a conversation with him. "Nothing!" he simply spoke not paying her any amount of attention.

"Okay, well I have a question for you before you leave," she spoke. "Go ahead and knock yourself out," he sighed knowing she wasn't gonna stop until they start talking.

"Has it been peaceful around here lately?" she questioned leaving him to think about it. "I guess so, there haven't been any kills around here lately," he simply said.

"Oh, so people are starting to take notice of their surroundings," she said talking to herself.

"What do you mean by that?" Gajeel questioned a bit curious. In his mind, it sounded like Levy had known something he didn't.

Levy looked around to make sure nobody was coming and then looked back at Gajeel. Deep down Levy really couldn't keep a secret. The information she was about to expose to him she didn't even tell to her parents.

If she had told her parents they would think she is crazy. But whenever she told Gajeel things he knew better to keep it to himself. She just always felt like she could tell him things.

"Can you keep a secret?" Levy questioned to make sure.

"What makes you think I can't keep a secret?" Gajeel rhetorically questioned.

"I don't know! But the only reason things are becoming peaceful around here is because Rogue isn't around," she spoke excitedly.

"What do you mean he isn't around?" Gajeel questioned perking up. "What I mean is they got him locked up," she said.

"Wait, so he's not like dead?" Gajeel asked in disbelief. "No, sadly he's not dead, yet!" she spoke evilly.

"If they caught him already and they know he's the wolf then why don't they just kill him?" Gajeel questioned not so happy. "That's what I asked them, but they can't kill Rogue unless he commits the act again or if they see him transform into the wolf," she answered, catching Gajeel's attention.

"They have to see it in order to believe it?" Gajeel questioned as Levy nodded.

"Yeah, but I doubt Rogue will ever leave the prison," she said rolling her eyes. "He's not really fighting to get out of the chains," she spoke.

"Chains, what kind of chains?" Gajeel asked. "There these chains the Capital gifted to us for protection just in case we ever caught the wolf. But in truth, they're just too lazy to come and help us out with our problem," she explained.

"Okay, but what do these chains do that's keeping him contained?" he sternly asked. "They're supposed to shock him if he tries to get out or if it feels his aura is threatening," she simply explained.

"I see!" Gajeel lowly spoke. "Yeah, it's badass but they don't know how long the chains can keep him locked up. Which is why I feel it is dumb to pass up this opportunity to kill him," she exclaimed.

"It sounds badass, but I gotta head home, it's about to be dark," he said which reminded Levy to give him the money as her father told her to.

"Wait before you go my father told me to give you your money for payment," Levy said setting the bag of coins on the table. Gajeel got done stacking the last set of books before putting the money in his pocket.

"Thanks; I hope you can achieve your justice for your friend, Lucy!" he spoke. Gajeel was about to leave until Levy remembered what Rogue said about Gajeel having a liking for Lucy.

"Hey Gajeel, I have a question before you?" Levy asked grabbing his arm.

He titled his head signaling for her to continue. Levy felt her heartbeat out of fear. She didn't want to hear the truth but she needed to hear it. She needed to know if Gajeel was actually in love with Lucy.

"Did you possibly know Lucy?" she simply questioned. She didn't want to start out too fast. "I've never talked to her before," he answered.

"Okay let me rephrase this; did you have a liking for Lucy when she was still alive?" she questioned, feeling her tears threatening to come.

"No, why the fuck would you ask me that? I've seen the girl around here before she died but I didn't know her enough to like her nor even talk to her. If she was still alive today we would walk past each other as if we were strangers," Gajeel aggressively spoke.

"Okay, I'm sorry, it was just a question," Levy said feeling guilty. She released her grip away from Gajeel as he angrily made his way upstairs.

It made her almost believe that Rogue could be right about him. 'What if Gajeel did like Lucy before she died? Could he be sensitive about her death as much as I am?' Levy asked herself as she felt a tear slide down.
