I suppose I should welcome everyone back to another chapter of Believe Beyond Despair and Drill Forward. It's been quite a few months since the last chapter, hasn't it? Obviously, I have no excuse to why I haven't posted a new chapter in such a long time, I just didn't. I lied; I do have excuses (it is school). I have about a month left of mostly free time since my assessments are not till the end and thankfully, they are practical and not tests.

Here we are though, the official Chapter 5 of the story, and we might end up seeing some action along the way as well?

I am thankful for everyone that has been enjoying this piece, and you can be assured that I will not be stopping for quite some time (though I suppose it depends on where I end up going.)

Hopefully no typo's or anything left unclear for the most part, edits, etc. My friends that normally edit for me were busy with things when I actually got around to finishing this.

Here's something I never asked my readers, what's your opinion on the comedic; or rather the comical takes that happen throughout anime in general and how I implement them into this piece as well? The over-the-top absurdness or inhuman things that characters act out at times; how does it translate to writing compared to seeing an actual visual/vocal representation of it? I know out of everything I write this is one that would like to imagine having more of that Gainax style instead of the RWBY style we know and love.

I was just curious on what everyone thought, and that if you would like to see more of that style interweave throughout future pieces in general. That's it, enough of this and onward to the main meat and potatoes of why you're here, or are you more of an eggs and bacon sort of reader?

Without further ado, shall we begin?

Professor Port and Doctor Oobleck casually sat down in their chairs, papers scattered across the console along with various coffee mugs filled with what some could only assume to be, coffee.

"Professor-"

"Doctor, Peter"

The man let out a hearty chuckle before setting down his mug. "Oh Barty, now is the time to be the most excited of all. The festival is a joyous time for all, an occasion for the students to prove themselves against one another. You know, back when I was younger there were times where I would have to stand against some rather dubious huntsman myself, those who would stray from the proper path of dealing with Grimm. Why-"

"Peter, I recall hearing this story of your approximately forty-two times within this past year. A forty-third is not necessary." Oobleck stated while adjusting his glasses.

The apple shaped man let out another laugh before slamming his hand down on the console, the contents lifting itself off and spilling all over the place.

"Peter!" Oobleck stood up to avoid the spilling of coffee as it went all over the papers and anything else that might have been next to the mugs.

The large man finally stopped his chuckle before reaching for something to wipe up his mess, before a few sparks jumped from the console, making the man realize his mistake. "Oh, what a blunder I've appeared to have made." The man let out another laugh before he started to wipe of the contents that were spilt. Upon closer look, the sparks that were jumping from the console were not that of blue or white in color but appeared to be a deep crimson red mixed with black.

The two went silent as they watch the strange phenomenon trace across the console before it sparked once again, the red now replaced with the familiar blueish, purple coloring. The share a glance before Oobleck speaks up. "I must make a few calls Peter, do announce that we'll have to delay Team JNPR's fight a tad bit longer till we get this under control."

"Peter started to reach for the intercom before turning back to Oobleck. "Does this perhaps have to pertain to the recent discovery you made Doctor?"

Oobleck stopped going through his scroll before sighing. "From what we just saw, there is an astronomical chance that we might encounter something we've never dealt with before, and perhaps the lives of those across Vale...no. The lives of Remnant might be in jeopardy from what we found in Vacuo. That is merely a hypothesis if what I've managed to decipher is true. For now, though, to dissuade any possibility of panic, we must continue onward with the festivities." The doctor brought up his scroll to his ear before speaking. "Ozpin, we need to talk."

In the Arena Stands

Team RWBY and the two brothers finally sat down after hearing the announcement, only for Kamina to let out an obnoxious sigh. Everyone that was around Kamina glanced towards him, perplexed by his actions. Simon was the one to speak up for his brother's actions.

"Bro... tends to get like this at times when there's not much happening. He likes to stay..." Simon furled his eyebrows as he tried to think of the word until Weiss spoke up.

"Engrossed, engaged, active? Perhaps occupied with smashing head into others like the meathead he is?"

Everyone glanced at Weiss in surprise for her surprising remark towards Kamina. They suddenly shifted their attention to Kamina who was standing up and stepping over the others towards Weiss, who was no leaning back slightly to set some sort of distance between them as Kamina currently had his leg on the stand while he was leaned in closely to her face, hands at his side.

"You couldn't have said it better..."

"It's Weiss, Weiss Sch-"

"That's what I thought it was." He placed a hand on her head and ruffled her hair about, stunning her from shock. "You hear what Weiss said Simon."

He smiled before quickly straightening out his posture and grabbing ahold of his sword before walking away. Everyone that was still sitting down gave one another a looking of confusion before Yang called out to Kamina. "Where are you going?"

Kamina turned around with an even bigger grin on his face before reaching near his back and pulling out sharply edged, red sunglasses and placing them on his face. "Who better to knock some sense into than some Grimm. I've been getting restless since we were dropped off, and I need to see if I can find some trace of Gurren while I'm out and about."

Yang stared at Kamina, but before she could get a word out a flutter of rose petals floated past her as Ruby was directly in front of him.

"You have your own Mech?"

Kamina slightly flinched in response to the sudden appearance of Ruby in front of him, but quickly readjusted himself. "You're damn right I do. Stole it in the heat of battle against the Beastmen and made it my own, even added my own style to it."

Ruby's eyes had stars in them as she listened to Kamina, waiting for him to say more about his Mech.

"You should see it when we're actually fighting them. It's something that only my brother and I can do, a bond like no other. The fusing of two brotherly souls, the unstoppable spirit to reach our dreams!"

Ruby started to let her mind run wild as her mouth opened and struggled to get words out as foam began to spill from the corners of her mouth. "Y..Y..Yo..Yo..You..You..You can co..com... co..."

Kamina clenched his hand into a fist a project it forward towards Simon, who was still sitting in Lagann with a bowl of popcorn that was bought for him by Blake. "We can combine into one, making our fighting prowess much greater than anything you've ever seen! The fusing of our brotherly bond makes us unstoppable!"

Ruby began to comedically foam at the mouth before falling backwards, only to be caught by Lagann then followed by raining popcorn as Simon through it up in the air to catch Ruby.

"Combine...combine...they can combine...Awesome." Thus, she fainted, a smile on her face.

Finally breaking out of the trance and fixing her hair, Weiss was the one to break the comedic duo as Simon helped Ruby climb down from Lagann and Kamina finished his posing. "If your Mech is so-"

"Its name is Gurren"

"Right...So where is 'Gurren' at then, if it's so integral to you for fighting these 'Beastmen'?"

Kamina sighed as he placed his hands at his side, shaking his head. "If I knew where it was at, I wouldn't have made it clear that I was looking for it frosty." He then crossed his arms as he was thinking. "I've never been separated for so long from Gurren since I got it, so it's kinda a strange feeling for me currently."

He turned around and waved his hand in the air. "Let's go Simon, we've got a Gunmen to find, and some Grimm to demolish." Kamina started to walk towards the exit before Simon stop up with Lagann and gave a small bow.

"It was nice meeting all of you guys. We'll try to be back in time to watch team JNPR fight, it seems like a lot of fun. See ya." He stopped before holding out a small circular device. "Leon gave this too me; it's supposed to act as some sort of communication device...but I don't know how it works exactly."

Weiss was the first one to follow up on his words, walking up to get a closer look at it. "So, it's like a scroll of some kind? It looks very different than anything we've got. Could I take a look at it really quick?" Simon handed it over to Weiss who started glancing over the device, before Kamina hollered back towards him. "Come-on Simon, we've got heads to crack."

"Coming Bro! Go ahead and hold onto that if you'd like to Weiss, we can't exactly use it that well. Maybe you could figure it out better and tell us when we get back."

"Absolutely Simon, I'll be sure to return it the same way I received it." The two waved to one another.

Simon started to follow after Kamina but was jerked out of Lagann along with his key that was plugged in and was currently being held by the scruff of his jacket. "Huh?" He tried to glance who picked him up and was currently holding him.

"I've been looking everywhere for you kids."

"Uncle Qrow!" Simon stopped struggling as Ruby's voiced reassured him, though little, that whoever was holding him was someone she knew.

Kamina was quick to turn around and began walking angrily towards whoever was holding Simon. "Oi bastard, I'd suggest you put down my brother before things get ugly."

Ruby was quick to get in-between the three of them, holding up her hands towards Kamina. "This is just my Uncle Qrow, Kamina. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean Simon any harm, right Uncle?" She turned back around to Qrow that was currently holding onto Simon, only for him to sigh and let him down, but not before slipping off Simon's necklace.

Simon patted around his neck to feel for it and felt nothing. He turned back around to Qrow and tried to reach for the necklace, only for Qrow to lift it out of reach. "Relax Kid, I'll give it back. I'm just taking-"

Before he could say anything else, a fist collided with his cheek and sent him rolling across the stands only for him to adjust himself and stand back up.

Both Yang and Ruby shouted for the Uncle Qrow while Blake was the first one to call out Kamina. "What did you do that for?"

Kamina was quiet before catching the falling necklace from the air. Twirling it in his hands before tossing it back towards Simon who clumsily caught it and put it back on. "Get back in Lagann Simon, we're leaving." Simon did what was asked and crawled back into Lagann while sliding the spiral shaped key into the slot, powering up Lagann once again, the hum of the machine now more prevalent in the silent arena.

Yang turned around, her eyes starting to flare up along with her hair starting to slightly glow. "You're really looking to get that face of yours caved in, aren't you?"

"Maybe your uncle there should learn to not take what isn't his, then I might think about not hitting him next time." Kamina hopped back slightly before landing on top of Lagann, his stance putting him directly above Simon.

"Bro?" Simon hesitated to glance up at Kamina who was looking back at the others staring at him. Simon gave one last glance towards Ruby and her friends before turning back forward, pushing the handles forward in Lagann.

The Gunmen started to jog forward, its legs shaking the ground slightly with each step before it turned around the corner at the exit, Kamina still standing on top while looking at those they left behind a stern expression upon his face.

With Team RWBY

"What the hell was their deal? They just suddenly hit Qrow out of nowhere then ran off?" Yang angrily shouted, her voice attempting to reach the brothers who were out of earshot by this point.

Qrow finally got back to where the rest of team RWBY was standing while rubbing his cheek, rolling his jaw, attempting to figure out what exactly hit him, or rather how it felt…so surreal. "Suppose that was my fault this time around."

"Are you okay Uncle Qrow? I don't know why Kamina went and hit you like that, I thought he relaxed when I told him that we knew you." Ruby said while kneeling down next to her uncle, a worried expression danced across her face.

"You said that you've been looking for them Qrow..." Blake spoke up "Why? Did they doing something wrong, or are they visiting from somewhere and ended up getting lost?"

Qrow pondered the question for a few seconds before reaching behind his back and pulling out a silver flask, only to twist the lid off and partake in the contents, wincing at the liquid he just ingested before putting the lid back on and tucking it back into the pocket that rested at his side.

"It's complicated kiddo, those two are from Vacuo you see..." Qrow stopped speaking only to sigh and start rubbing the back of his head.

"Uncle Qrow what does that have to do with-" Ruby started to ask before she was interrupted

"It's precisely because they are from Vacuo that we must treat them with the most respect Miss Rose." The group quickly spun around and saw that both Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch were walking towards them, the latter typing on her scroll.

"Since they are foreigners in a land much different than ours, it is up to us to provide a safe and hospitable environment that they can grow up in since they are far from home, something many of us can relate too." Ozpin explained.

Weiss stepped forward to respond. "Excuse me Sir, but that still leaves more than a handful of things left unanswered."

Ozpin tilted his glasses as those words caught his attention. "Do elaborate Miss Schnee, am I to assume that these brothers have explained much about themselves to you and your team?"

"Well, for one Sir. They had never heard of Grimm, or Faunus. Instead, they spoke of this enemy they've been fighting which they called 'Beastmen'. Where a Faunus shares a small number of traits to an animal of their lineage, these so called 'Beastmen' were practically fully grown animals that shared traits with that of humans, or at least that's what I've inferred. Kamina only spoke of them being 'animals from long ago that were covered in fur, shells or even had wings that attacked them daily.'"

Glynda was the one to speak up. "You mentioned one of them went by the name Kamina? What of the other?"

Weiss seemed to be at a loss for words at Glynda's question, seeing on how she thought that they already knew of their names. Ruby spoke up on behalf of her.

"His younger brothers name is Simon, and he's the one that was the pilot of the mech..." Glynda seemed to sigh at the mention of a mech. "They did call it a 'Gunmen' however, I'm not sure if that's another name for a Mecha, or what exactly they meant by that."

"Did they perhaps mention anything else Miss Rose?" Glynda inquired while rubbing the bridge of her nose.

Yang stepped forward after finally calming down, arms crossed as she answered in a rather annoyed tone. "They mentioned going off and fighting more Grimm, while also looking for another giant robot of theirs. Pretty sure they fought together as one instead of separately. They mentioned something about combining into one, or something like that."

Glynda glanced down at her scroll before her fingers started to dance across the screen, various numbers and screens popping up along with the motions while Ozpin stayed quiet, his hand resting on his chin.

Qrow bent down slightly as held his head in-between both Ruby and Yang. "How about you kids help us out on this little issue. No shame about getting some extra hands on this matter since you've already met them?" His hands resting on the shoulders of the sisters.

Glynda was the first one to speak up against this suggestion. "I think not Qrow. We cannot endanger the situation, or the well beings of other students any more than they already are."

"What do you mean endanger Professor? Have they already done something?" Blake asked worryingly.

Ozpin stepped in to answer her worries. "The brothers have done no harm to others whatsoever Miss Belladona. We fear that the harm they might cause will be more to themselves than to others, seeing how their past life experiences were. We simply wish to keep them away from causing any sort of disruption, and possibly any unpredicted incident, as we do with all our students." He tapped his cane a few times on the ground to reestablish attention to himself. "Though I suppose there's no harm in having you four help us in this endeavor, seeing on how you already met with them and became somewhat acquainted along with that."

"Ozpin, you can't-"

"Relax Glynda, you heard the boss. Let the kids lend a helping hand for...a certain number of times by now. Not like they could make this any worse." Qrow joked as he started to walk towards another exit within the arena, a glare threatening to rip a hole through him.

"Can we really help with finding them Professor Ozpin?" Ruby asked.

The man nodded his head while Glynda could only sigh as she typed a few more things on her scroll.

The girl cheered as she pumped up her fists before turning around to the rest of her team. "You heard it team RWBY, we have to go find the lost brothers before they get into more trouble!" She pointed towards Yang who stepped back from the sudden action. "No hitting Kamina either when we see him."

The girl opened her mouth to protest but lost any motivation she could have had to argue against her younger sister, a drawn-out sigh following the motion.

The team gathered their things and headed off in the direction of the exit they last saw the brothers head out of.

The Brothers

"There really wasn't a reason to hit him Bro, I'm sure he would have let me go and given it back if I just asked. He even seemed to be related to Ruby and Yang. Their Uncle from the sounds of it." Simon protested as they continued to walk away from the arena.

Kamina stayed quiet as he sat down on Lagann. He placed his sword on his lap before looking up at the sky.

"Bro?"

Kamina quickly spun around and stared at Simon before jutting a finger at his chest, more specifically where his necklace would normally hang. "That is not just anybody's Simon, that key is part of you, part of your determination, part of your spirit; just as Lagann is to you." He lifted his hand away before turning around once again. "You didn't just find that key, you found a part of yourself. You didn't just find Lagann, you earned it. Things that you earn shouldn't be taken so easily, not without a fight; especially when I'm around either."

Simon wasn't sure what to say next to his brothers' words. Rather than that, there was something he didn't even want to ask, what...what would he do when-

"Don't even think about it Simon. We're brothers till the end, aren't we? As long as I'm here, I can promise you won't ever go through a tough situation again, not alone at least."

Simon's heart was suddenly lifted from the words of his brother, the weight on his chest gone with the passing of air. A smile graced his face, and he pushed the handles forward, the speed in Lagann increasing further. "Yeah Bro, we can do anything together!"

The two stayed silent for a bit longer until they realized one important fact about their situation...they were lost.

"Bro... I thought we were going to fight Grimm... but where are we at?"

Kamina had a troubled look on his face as he was slouched over, one hand on his knee and the other on his chin. His eyes closed to the surroundings as they just sat there in Lagann.

Stone-like buildings surrounded them, windows glaring from the sunlight. Stone footing beneath them, and all around them. Individuals dressed in all sorts of fabrics walked around in broad daylight with no consequences to their actions. Greenery flourished while the landscapes looked untouched by the battles of the past.

All of this didn't make any sense to the brothers at all, and in some sense, frightened them. Regardless, they stove onward of any obstacle they've encountered in the past, why would this stop them now?

"This doesn't make any sense Bro, why is there all of this…life. At least that's how Leon put it in the pictures he's shown us. So much of our surface is barren, this is so different than that." Simon commented while looking around, Lagann spinning around with him as its arms swung in a playful manner.

When Simon glanced towards Kamina, he noticed that his brother was glancing in a singular direction. Upon following where his eyes seemed to be locked onto, he took notice of a large vehicle landing onto the ground, a multitude of figures clad in the same outfit came walking out of it. Each of them carrying similar weapons that they remembered members of the resistance carried.

"Walk forward Simon."

Simon's head almost spun off of his body with the speed his glance swung his attention from the massive vehicle towards his brother. "Wh…what?"

Kamina hopped down from Lagann, the sword clipped at his side with his arms crossed. The frown on his face remaining from when they were with team RWBY, a feeling Simon believed, to still be knawing at his mind. What it was, he couldn't say.

"There's something odd here Simon, and I can't quite stomach what it is either. There's something inside that giant metal vehicle that's not sitting with me and is giving me a feeling I can't agree with. Can't you feel it as well; a feeling that's drawing your fighting spirit." Kamina's eyes squinted towards the large metal casing.

Simon started to open his mouth to protest the words of his brother, but instead took them to heart and turned his attention back towards the vehicle. The humming of the beast slowly becoming louder the longer he stared at it, the beating of his heart threatening to bring forward the food that he recently devoured without a thought.

His hands tightened around the handles of Lagann as he leaned forward slightly, an attempt to possibly look into the darkness that stood at the top of the ramp into the beast. The longer he stared, the louder his heart sounded, the humming of the beast fighting against it. The only sound to overcome it all was the breathing of Kamina, and his own, the almost matched breaths anticipating the mystery that may lie inside.

A red light flashed across the darkness, the brothers recoiled from the sudden appearance and the wave of energy that followed it. Anyone else that was standing around the brothers seemed to shiver, thought this was strange on a windless, sunny day. The threat of cold wasn't even a thought to the brothers, but something else prevented this.

The look in their eyes seemed to light the entire vehicle ablaze with their gaze, the fire in their hearts threatening to burn everything around them. Once uneven breaths no longer exited separately; the duo exhaled with conviction in their hearts, the grip on their respective weapons threatening to split the skin that rested upon their knuckles.

The two didn't even need to share a glance as they carried themselves forward. The footsteps that the two shared seemed to radiate a presence that split anyone that might have been even somewhat in front of them. The path in front of them was interrupted, any soul that threatened to even attempt to stop the two would inevitably be crushed under the weight of their spirit in this very moment.

Before the two brothers could take another step forward, a voice called out to them.

"The one in the machine and the other with the sword, stop moving or I will be forced to stop you myself."

The fire that resided in their hearts slowly began to quench themselves as a cold breeze blew past them, the feeling different from one they felt from the hold in front of them. The feeling that overcame the two of them began to die down, to the point the intent that the two carried escaped through the rapid exhales that went from their lungs. A sweat ran down Simons forehead as he began to grasp for air, as if the entire time they were walking he was holding it all in. He glanced over towards his brother to see if he was reacting the same, but instead he only saw Kamina breathing calmly, the sweat dropping down his face as well.

A sigh softly escaped his lips before relaxing the grip on his sword before turning around, Simon completely releasing the grip on Lagann while falling into the seat, his body tired for a reason he couldn't comprehend. In a slow motion, he crawled around to look back towards the voice that called out to the two, the clicking of shoes on stone getting louder overtime. Upon taking notice of everything around him, no longer were they surrounded by colorful individuals, instead it was the white uniformed individuals with weapons in their hands. The stone pathway they walked seemed to stretch for miles on end as Simon stared at the path they took. The only difference that laid there now was a well dress, white haired woman walking towards the two of them, a stern look upon her face.

"Do the two of you know what you were about to do?" the woman spoke sternly, her hand by her side, the other wresting upon her weapon, one that looked fairly similar to another he'd seen before.

"Does it matter what we were going to do? We'll do what we want." Kamina spoke rather sternly, his hands now crossed over his chest, his familiar look replacing the strange, pained look that was there only moments before. "Who are you to stop the two of us?"

"Winter Schnee, what you are about to do is trespass onto military property without any form of identification or anything else that would be required to step onto an Atlas military ship."

Kamina leaned forward while sporting an annoyed grin, his eyes squinting towards Winter from behind his pointed sunglasses. He slowly leaned back to his original position only to flip up his sunglass and point them towards the woman. "I get it now. Just like the little ice cream from before, you're basically a bigger one, aren't you?"

Winter stopped walking and lifted any eyebrow at his words, a clear sign that he caught her attention with his provocative words.

"It would only make sense for someone to carry such a similar-" Kamina gestured with his hands in an attempt to shape the shapeless. "-hoity toity attitude like the one from before." He shot a glance towards Simon who could only think of one person, though from his own opinion, Weiss didn't seem to be that bad of a person from what he could tell.

Kamina smiled after seeing the reaction of Simon, only to flick the sunglasses onto the bridge of his nose and hold his hand in a closed fist, the other hand hovering around it. "Let's see; you got white hair." He flicked up one of his fingers. "Have a strange weapon." A second finger followed. "The attitude and the way you speak." A third followed just like before. "And if I just had to add a fourth, well I guess I could only attribute to just the way you called out to me, but I really really just don't like the arrogant face you have currently; as if you're looking at nothing but an annoyance instead of an actual person."

He closed his finger back into a fist, a grin that practically spoke that Kamina was itching for a fight. Simon wanted to speak out and protest the actions of his brother, but he understood, or at least felt like he did. The feeling that resonated from the ship behind them lit the fighting spirit that rested inside of them, and if it didn't get let out…he wasn't sure how it would affect them.

They've always had something to throw their heads at, especially the times when it was necessary. All of this that they've seen so far has been so different, Simon wasn't sure on how they could ever change so simply, especially when back home they still had a dream to follow, those of team Dai-Gurren that were nowhere to be found. There was the empty feeling that rested inside of Simon, and from what he could tell it existed inside of Kamina as well.

No matter what came next especially when it came to fighting, and he wasn't sure if he could even muster the words to stop Kamina who was now drawing the sword from his waist. Instead, Simon could only clench his hands around the rods that controlled Lagann.

"You understand what you're doing young man? Assaulting an Atlas officer Is something I can't imagine a student getting away with so easily. I can't promise that Beacon will be able to protect you in this situation" Winter pulled a sword off the side of her hip and held it towards Kamina, who in turn was holding the sword out towards Winter.

"If I needed a school to protect me, then I wouldn't have made it this far in the first place. All I need is my brother by my side; with that we will reach the stars and go even further beyond." The grin on his face beamed confidence, but when Simon glanced back over to Winter, he could only see the woman…scowling, or would he say some sort of pity?

"That sort of arrogance will get you and your brother killed young man. I'd hope this will be a lesson to curb such thoughts and ground you to the land you stand on." Symbols formed beneath her feet mere seconds before she was launched forward towards Kamina who only smiled in response before adding his own remark.

"If arrogance would have killed me, then I wouldn't be standing here in front of you." Kamina launched forward to match Winter, only for the two to clash blades and push against one another. "I've never repeated the same mistake twice in my life to follow those so called ' lessons' I've heard so much about."

The two traded blows a few more times, sparks flying each time ones blade matched the others. On the last blow, Kamina was pushed back slightly, the trail of dust trailing his feet as they slid across the ground. The smile still rested on his face as his eyes tracked the form of Winter now stepping into the air on what Simon could only describe as platforms made of symbols he'd never seen before.

Kamina didn't hesitate as she stepped through the air towards him, only for him to bend his knees slightly, grasping the blade with both hands, and launching himself towards Winter off of the ground. Winter's eyes widened at the sudden action and braced herself for the impact from Kamina while raising her weapon. The moment the two encroached on another, Kamina lowered his blade and brought up his leg, digging his foot into the side of Winter before launching her towards a lamppost.

Winter appeared to stumble from the impact, only to quickly recover from the kick and recoil off of the post and land onto the ground, a clear foot mark imprinted on the side of her clothing where Kamina placed it. She readied herself to dash towards Kamina who had taken on more of a playful stance compared to before, almost as if he was mocking her. Veins visibly began to pop on her forehead as anger could be noticed rising from her expression.

Before she could take another step, a familiar voice called out from behind where Kamina was standing.

"I didn't take you for one to attack children, Ice Queen. Didn't anyone tell you to listen to your elders Hedgehog?" A groan could be heard after the nicknames were called out.

The three that were standing there quickly spun to see who made such a remark, and instead was greeted with a what some could easily call a party.

A frown appeared on Kamina's, and Winter's faces the moment they recognized what Simon could only guess to be the same individual that called out to them. Qrow could be seen sauntering up towards the three of them, RWBY's team right behind him; a mixture of expressions shared across the four of them.

Ruby appeared to be struggling between two expressions: a constant flipping between confusion and worry. Simon couldn't quite understand why it was like that either. The emotions that were flaring across Yang's face was something he could easily grasp on why she was like that; the irritation that he last saw on her face when they were running away was something he knew Kamina would come to regret later. Weiss's was similar to Ruby's in terms of confusion and worry, but once again he couldn't quite come to terms because she would be feeling such things. Blakes was one that was possibly the easiest to come to terms with, or rather was probably the most expressionless out of them all, a look of curiosity that peaked through a steel wall.

Simon started to duck back into Lagann as soon as Ruby locked eyes with him. His hands quickly let go of the controllers as he held them to the back of his head. 'She's mad with us, isn't she? We hit her uncle and now the thought of even seeing us upsets her.' Thoughts continued to run through his head as the situation outside of Lagann continued without him. His concentration was quickly broken however by a soft voice whispering out to him.

"Simon, are you okay?"

It was Ruby's voice; this he was sure of. Swallowing the lump in his throat he started to lift his head. Peaking over the side, he saw that he had apparently turned back towards the ship and had his back towards Kamina. Breathing a sigh of relief, the soft voice spoke once again, this time much closer to his ear, but still in a gentle voice.

"I'm right here."

Simon threw his hands up and, in the process, hit the controls of Lagann causing it to lift a leg up and ruin the balance of the Gunmen. Both Simon and Lagann mimicked one another as their arms flailed as they fell onto their backs, causing Simon to roll backwards and onto the ground. His chin laid on the ground with his rear in the air, his knees matching his chin with his legs sprawled behind him. Stars spun around him as he tried to gather his composure around him, only to see three Ruby's running towards him, all of them speaking the same thing.

"Are you okay?" The three of them kneeled down as Simon struggled to get up, only to collapse back onto the ground. "You're not okay, gotcha." She looked flustered as one could be, and Simon could only be flustered in return as he struggled to get words out as three Ruby's eventually went into two, then into a single one. When it finally came together and everything stopped being a blurry mess, Simon could see that Ruby was much closer than he had originally expected.

Simon's eyes went wide as he quickly regained himself and began to back up quickly on his hands, only to run into two soft poles. He began to look up before a familiar yellow fabric flow out in the corner of his eyes. His hands flung to cover his eyes while his legs tried to carry himself out of the position he was currently in, only for a hand to grab ahold of his jacket collar and hold him up whilst his legs swung in the air. "I-I-I didn't see anything!"

There wasn't a response for a few seconds before a chuckle escaped from the lips of the person holding him. "Not like you'd see anything short stuff. I'd expect the single brother of that hot head over there to have more guts to mess around, not that I'd let it slide anyways." Simon lowered his hands to see Yang grinning at him while Ruby was standing by her side staring at him in with the same expression as before, though it was more worry than confusion this time around. He started to calm down before recalling what happened not even twenty minutes ago, and his face started to turn into a worried mess with him looking down at the ground, a saddened expression evident to those looking at him.

A finger flick to his forehead quickly brought him out of trance he was stuck in. Upon rubbing his hand against his head, a mischievous smile sat on Yang's face while a toothy grin was on Ruby's. A smile started to grown on Simon's face as he was slowly let down onto the ground. Yang patted any sort of dust that might have rested on his shoulders before turning him around to see what his brother was doing.

Across the area where Kamina and Winter traded blows only minutes before was a sight he wasn't quite expecting. Instead of his brother butting heads with those around him, instead he was tapping his foot while Blake was speaking with him. Across from those two were Weiss, Winter and Qrow talking to one another, and though Winter still appeared to have an annoyed look on her face, it appeared much gentler than before.

"Ummm, Simon?"

A quick tap on the shoulder and Simon spun his head around to see Ruby gesturing over towards the collapsed Lagann, to which he reached towards his neck to make sure his drill was still slung around it. His hand firmly grasped it and he let out a sigh of relief, to which Ruby interrupted.

"It's fine right, Lagann that is?" She spoke while tilting her head, a slightly worrisome look on her face, as if there was perhaps some more emotion behind the well being of Lagann than there would be for himself…not that he would care that much anyways about her thinking about him.

"Y-Yeah, it's fine. Lagann has taken much more and still walked away with any arms…though that was when Leon was around to fix it up alongside Gurren. He's really smart with technology, I'm pretty sure the two of you would get along pretty well." Simon was smiling as he began to think of his friends back home, wherever that might be. He knew thought that they'd get back to them, whatever it took. Maybe even those around them could help with their situation…hopefully. What Kamina did to Ruby and Yang's uncle wasn't what he'd call the most respectful thing one could do to another's family, and then there was the incident with Winter that he wasn't sure would result in either.

Simon saw Kamina turning and matched glances with one another. His brother smiled and gave him a thumbs up. He returned the smile, but before he could return the thumbs up, the cracking of glass resounded in his ears, and everything went dark.

A familiar flashing of blue draining down into black, only to be replaced with red triangles flashing around him in a language he still never understood. No longer was Yang and Ruby nearby and neither was anyone else of the entourage that had surrounded them. Simon spun around, his eyes dashing around only to see the flashing red lights reflect of his own eyes. His hand clutched the key that rested near his chest, but before he could release a sigh of relief a strange liquid began to run through his fingers.

Looking down, Simon saw a flush of red embodied the once blacked floor and what he could only tell to be blood rushed through his hands and to the ground. He no longer cared for the once blinking drill that rested in his hands, but instead tried to find where his brother might be.

'He always said we'd be together, there's no way I'm alone right now.'

"-Have faith in the Simon who believes in you."

Simon spun around from the sudden words that were just whispered in his ear, but there was no one behind him. He was sure that it was his brother's, but they felt wrong. All of this felt wrong, and he hated it.

"Later, buddy."

Simon continued to look around until his foot came into contact with a heavy object. He glanced downward and the flashing lights stopped, along with the beating of his own heart. The ringing in his ears went silent, and the only light that remained was the blinking of the drill on his chest.

He struggled to breath as he stared down at the lifeless figure in front of him, the hole that was split through it was evidence enough that no one could come back from such an injury. A smile rested on the body that laid there, the oh so familiar sunglasses sitting next to the head, haven fallen off from the position the body. The cape that was drenched in blood couldn't flutter in this windless space as it hung from the neck of the body.

Simon fell to his knees, splashing the red liquid all around him before his hands fell into it as well. Slowly he crawled closer towards the body, the lifeless figure didn't even show a single sign of motion as he drew nearer. Eventually he reached the head of the body, and he could only stare at the face while tears began to fall from his eyes, the dim light of the drill illuminating the two.

"Bro?"

Kamina's lifeless corpse was quiet to his brother's words, and this stabbed Simon through his heart. His hands lifted the torse while he cradled his brothers head in his arm, the tears still flowing onto the cold body.

"You…You promised…But you promised me Bro."

Simon fell onto Kamina's lifeless corpse, hugging him closely in an attempt to bring warmth back to it, to no avail. Tears didn't stop as he raised his head towards the darkness above him, only to let out a scream…then darkness enveloped everything.

With Kamina

Kamina had just finished dealing with not only Winter and Wiess, but also the drunken Uncle of the sisters that were with Simon. Blake was possibly the most helpful in dealing with them, the calmness reminded him of someone, but couldn't quite put a name to it. Apparently fighting with Winter could be considered some sort of issue, but he didn't care.

He glanced over towards him and shot a thumbs up to his younger brother along with a large grin. Everything is okay, free of any sort of worry.

Before he could start walking over towards Simon, he noticed that his younger brothers eyes seemed to roll back before a scream pierced the air. Kamina quickly took notice that it was coming from Simon, only for it to end and have his body go limp. Yang caught him, thankfully before his body hit the ground. His feet started to run over to Simon until a stabbing feeling took place near his stomach. His pace rapidly declined as the four that were standing with him were already over Simon's side.

A rising sensation started to climb in his throat as he coughed into his hand.

'Blood?'

The strength in his knees began to faulter as he took another step forward. The sensation near his stomach became stronger, and when he looked down a portion of his body was bruised an ugly color. Any feeling that was in his legs was now gone as he plummeted towards the ground, falling face first into the concrete that laid beneath him, blood trickling out of his mouth as his hand was stretched out towards Simon, the other holding his stomach.

"Not….yet…" He coughed and blood scattered out from where he laid. Voices echoed through his ears, and from what he could tell they were shouting his name. A blurry face could be seen looking over him, blonde hair, and glasses from what he could tell.

"I really…can't keep a promise…can I?" More blood trickled out of his mouth, the darkness encroaching on his vision.

Kamina knew that his time was short and tried to make the most of it. It was possibly the most selfish he had ever been with Simon at this point, but he knew that it couldn't last forever, no matter how much he could have tried, it was bound to end regardless. He felt bad that he couldn't be there to stand tall with Simon, to reach the heavens alongside him. Yet he knew it by heart, that if anyone could do it, it would his little brother.

Maybe when he wakes up from this…dream, or whatever it might be. He'll be able to grasp his goal in hand and take it by force without me…man…this really sucks. Then everything went dark.

Bet you didn't expect to see this updated, let alone even think about how this chapter was going to end either, now did ya? I can promise nothing from this point onward, but I can also not ruin the hopes of everyone reading. That should be a good enough answer at this point for all of my wonderful readers. I can see…maybe about 3 to 4 more chapters till reach a standstill and get the opinions of everyone that reads and enjoys this piece.

I lied however, here is a tad bit more to sate those reading. As always though, comments and concerns are always welcome.

Ozpin stared at the readings that blinking across the screen as Oobleck was pacing back and forth behind him. The tapping of shoes echoing in the room where many others sat, more specifically team RWBY, Winter Schnee, and Qrow Branwen along with Glynda Goodwitch each had taken a seat as the brothers laid in the two hospital beds in front of them.

Everyone wasn't sure on what to say in this situation. Two brothers, supposedly from Vacuo appear out of thin air for the most part, create a ruckus, then collapse as everything was supposedly getting to a much better standing than before. Thankfully Goodwitch was there in time to safely transfer the two towards a much safer space than directly in the middle the airship landing.

The thing that was eating away at Ozpin however was the wound that was on Kamina, the older brother. It was almost as the entirety of his stomach was pierced by a weapon, and that alone would normally kill someone, but this, at least from the looks of it, put him into an unconscious state that was being maintained with a large degree of life support. Even a fully seasoned Hunter would normally treat these as mortal wounds, but this seemed like it was almost normal for this boy.

As for the younger brother, Simon, he wasn't quite sure was going on with him. While he rested in an unconscious state, the readings that were given off by his brain were something that only someone who was wide away could give off. It was almost like there was some sort of mental block intact that was preventing him from waking up.

Lastly, with Lagann back in an area away from prying eyes and hooked up to its own sensors and other technology of Oobleck, it was treating itself in a fully operational state, even without the key that still rested around the neck of the younger brother. While he originally intended to insert the device in Lagann, Oobleck strongly objected against it, he spoke as if it was it was some sort of life support for the two, even though it wasn't directly connected too either one of them. It only gave off a strange modest glow that seemed to slightly envelop the two.

Nothing was making sense whenever it came to the two brothers, and then there was the issue that Oobleck and Port encountered a few hours earlier. It seemed to appear the moment the brothers had entered the arena and vanished without a trace the moment they left as well.

Before he could think of anything else, a voice broke his concentration.

"Ummm, Headmaster Ozpin?"

He turned his head to see Miss Rose standing up in front of him, the others in the room also glancing towards him.

"Can we…can you tell us about them? Where they actually came from?"

Ozpin was surprised for only a moment before he remembered who he was in front of. Of course those that had spent time with the brothers would truly wish to understand who they are, or at the very least where they came from. The Vacuo story could only go on for so long before word got around and left it at a very, poorly written up lie.

Before he could speak, the opening of a door stopped him, and when eyes turned to meet the new figure entering the room, silence permeated the floor. A deep voice spoke as the large man closed the door behind him.

"I too would like to hear this story, Ozpin." Spoke Ironwood.

Now I'm actually done.
