"The man has several head injuries and a bruised rib. After being discharged from the hospital, local authorities charged him for the production of stimulants and the sale of illegal substances."

"Impressive."

"Alerting that man might not have been the best course of action."

"The way I see it, we gathered intel and we got rid of his business. We hit 2 birds in one stone."

"Indeed. Less competition."

During the middle of the day, Jazmine is in Huey and Riley's shared room as she does some paperwork. She has been helping him do some of the paperwork for his organization, mostly writing cheques, going over accounting books, and even signing her own signatures in some things. Huey trusts her to be responsible with some of the more important documents, which she really appreciates considering how much his work means to him.

Sometimes she daydreams what Huey's career could be. He will probably be a wealthy man, in charge of a bunch of companies and organizations, a businessman but a philanthropist and a people person at heart. Jazmine definitely doesn't marry for money, she's never really judged someone by their net worth but something tells her that Huey is going to be a successful man one day.

A memory comes to mind. A younger Jazmine and Huey in the garage. You know Huey, everyone thinks you're a loony person but one day you're gonna be smarter than everybody. She smiles at the memory as she continues signing another document.

After sometime Huey opens the door and stands behind her shoulder. "Hey."

Jazmine turns around her chair and greets him. "Hiya! Cin dropped off these receipts yesterday. do you wanna take a look?"

Huey looks at the receipts. "Damnit Cindy! We can't reimburse her for her shopping trips to the mall."

"Wait really? Lemme see."

Jazmine looks at the Cindy's receipts. Cindy was hoping that Huey will cover the costs for her purchases. "Oh my Black Jesus... 2000 dollars in the Louis Vatton store! She spent 800 on a pair of heels!" She gasps.

"Absolutely no way are we gonna pay for that."

"I'm kinda jealous!"

Huey scowls at her. "Hey. Don't get any ideas, we're using this money to help Woodcrest and strictly for charity-" Then after his sentence, Huey winces in pain.

"Oh. Are you alright? Huey?" She has a concerned look in her eyes.

"No I'm fine. Do you uh- wanna call Cindy... I forgot my left arm can't move." Huey says, still healing from his stab wound.

Jazmine gives him a sweet smile. "Yeah. I'll call, go sit down please."

She takes her smartphone and gives Cindy a call. After a few rings, her call gets answered. "Yo. This is Reezy." Riley's voice is heard through the phone.

"Riley? Can I speak with Cindy?"

"Nah. She's not here. What you want Jazzy?"

"Riley can you tell Cindy to stop giving us her receipts! We're not paying for her 800 dollar high heels! Our money is supposed to be for charity and not for Louis Vuttons!"

"Whoa stop snitchin! I ain't bought none of that, if you wanna talk shit to C-Murph then get her on the phone next time!"

"Then pass on the message Riley. Please, don't send us your receipts."

"So does that mean you won't pay for my new Gucci fur coat?"

"You bought a fur coat?! Riley!" But before Jazmine can continue talking, Riley ends the call.

"Ugh Huey! How do you live with Riley as a brother!" She feels her face scowling the same way Huey does.

Huey is laying there on his bed, resting and staring at the ceiling. "Yeah I know... welcome to my world."

"Here. Granddad. Try some of this."

Huey, Riley, and Granddad are eating lunch together in the dining room, Huey is cooking again but he has finally forced Riley to sit down and have lunch together with his meat-free food.

"Huey what the hell is this?" Granddad stares at the plate.

"Those are plantain chips from the air fryer. They're similar to potato chips." Riley and Granddad both take a bite.

"Eww! Argh fuck!" Riley spits it out.

"Boy! This taste like shit! Tastes like damn cardboard!"

"Okay then." Huey takes away the play. "I realized back then that you won't eat anything unless it's fried, grilled, or smothered in cheese. So how about this?" Huey sets down a different plate.

Granddad stares at it but waits for Huey to speak. "And? Huey stop standing there and explain the dish damnit!"

"Granddad this ain't the Food Network, just take a bite and see how you think."

"How the hell am I gonna eat it if I don't know what's in it?!" Granddad argues back.

Huey sighs, with a deeper scowl. "They're called pepper poppers. It's green pepper stuffed with cheese."

"Spicy?"

"A little."

"Nope. Not eating it." Granddad pushes the plate away. Riley laughs at his brother's failure.

Huey clenches his teeth, trying his very best not to get angry. "Fine I'll just give the food to the Dubois..."

"Boy! Why you leaving? We ain't got our food yet!"

"Granddad just eat whatever I made, come on, why you gotta make this so difficult..."

Riley comments. "How bout why you tryna make Granddad a vegan like ur bitch ass? The doctor just said to stop eatin mo' sugar, he didn't mean to stop eatin meat!"

"If I don't force him to any vegetables, then I gotta drag him back to the doctor again!"

Granddad glares at Huey. "The only vegetables I'll eat are tomatoes and potatoes."

"Fine! Fine! You want some goddamn mashed potatoes?!" Huey raises his voice, feeling defeated.

"Yes please! Extra smooth mashed potatoes, thank you kindly." Granddad smirks.

Huey relents, getting to work and starts boiling potatoes with an injured shoulder.

"Happy birthday Jazmine!" Tom announces.

Confetti and balloons fly everywhere as her parents throw a large party for her birthday. In her house was everyone she knew, her parents and some relatives, her friends in school, her neighbours, even Uncle Ruckus showed up. Except Huey.

"Come on Sweetie, blow the candles!"

She blows on the 18 candles on her cake and she makes a wish. "Whooo!" Everyone congratulates.

Tom shouts to the guests. "Okay everyone gather around for some cake!"

Granddad pushes himself to the front, he hasn't had any dessert in over 2 months. "Move! Old man coming through! Tom hook me up before Huey sees me!"

Tom chuckles and serves him a slice of cake.

In the living room Jazmine is opening all her gifts, her aunts and uncles giving her either money or a pair of socks and her friends are giving her some cute clothes. She especially liked the sunglases Cindy bought for her.

"Uhh Riley... what's this?"

"A glock."

"A w-what?"

"It's a gun."

Cindy walks up to them. "Oh... Reezy I told you not get her a gun, you lost yo mind!"

"What do you hoes want for gifts anyways?! I gave my friend a gun n' he loved it!"

Cindy pinches his ear. "Sorry Jaz, pardon my dumbass boyfriend!"

Riley holds his hands up. "Okay okay stop! I got another present!"

Riley holds out an envelope. "Here."

Jazmine asks. "What is it?"

"I saw Huey in the middle of the night writing this letter, way back in November. It says 'To: Jazmine' on the back but fo some reason that gay ass didn't give it to you."

Jazmine takes the small brown envelope, on the back it says "To: Jazmine, From: Huey."

"Huh." Jazmine says.

Riley walks away. "Yeah I've done my part, I'll take the gun back if you don't want it?"

"Please take it and put it away. We don't keep guns in the house."

He takes the gun and then him and Cindy walk away. After a few more party guests and a few more gifts opened, it's Caesar's turn.

"Hi Caesar!" Jazmine greets him.

"Hi!" He smiles. "Got ya a present! Hope you like it."

Caesar gives her a small box, in it is a silver necklace with a heart charm.

"Wow it's beautiful..." Jazmine is impressed. "I love it! Thank you."

He gives her a bigger smile. "You're welcome."

Suddenly before the 2 can share a few more words, a loud horn can be heard outside. "Jazmine Dubois! Wuncler Industries would like to congratulate you on your 18th birthday!" A voice with a megaphone says out loud.

Jazmine and all the birthday guests come outside. She gasps.

Oh my gosh

Oh my gosh

"Mr. Sammy Davis Jr.!" Jazmine squeals. "I missed you! I missed you so much!" A hazel colored pony with a long flowing mane is waiting for her in the street. The pony is accompanied by Rummy and a couple of his assistants.

Jazmine had always wanted a pony since she was a little girl. Memories flashback to when she opened a lemonade stand and Wuncler the First offered to sell Mr. Sammy Davis Jr. to her. Huey was right there beside her, telling her the truth that Wuncler was taking advantage of her pony-themed dream but yet she didn't listen. She thought she was so close to getting her very own pony but yet Wuncler just took advantage of her emotions and he robbed her of a little girl dream.

But now her dream. Her dream pony, sitting there in front of her house. It doesn't matter if she doesn't get to keep it, or if the pony is only staying for a day. She's just so happy that dreams really do come true.

She screams in excitement. She jumps in and hugs Mr. Sammy Davis Jr., ignoring Tom's screaming at the back about how dirty animals are.

She strokes the mane and turns to Rummy. "Mr. Gin Rummy, how'd you know?! Thank you so much!"

Rummy adjusts his tie and lets out a half-smile. "Oh it's nothing kid, we just had a hunch..."

"Can I ride him? Please!"

Rummy gestures to his female assistant which looks to be the animal's handler. The assistant helps Jazmine get on the pony.

"Oh my gosh! This is a dream come true!" Jazmine is strolling Mr. Sammy Davis Jr. down the street with the assistant gently guiding the pony along.

She looks at the Freeman mansion to see Huey sitting on the roof, spectating her reaction. From a distance he can see him smiling... smiling at how happy she is...

Thank you Huey

Later that evening, as Tom and Sarah clean up the after the party, Jazmine sits in her room and stares out her window. In her hand is the envelope that Riley gave her. To: Jazmine From: Huey

She goes down the stairs. "Mommy! Daddy! I'm going over to Huey's!"

Sarah responds. "Okay sweetie! Be back by 9!"

She heads out the door, her cheeks blushing, this year has been so perfect for her. She's dating her soulmate, they've started a non-profit organization with Wuncler's money, her parents are no longer fighting anymore, her grades are the best as they can be thanks to Huey's help, and she's had literally the best birthday in her life.

Everything is just so perfect, and it's all thanks to him.

She knocks on the door. "Hi cutie-pie! That was a really good party you put together!"

"Thanks Mr. Freeman! Is Huey there?"

"No he's not here I think. That reminds me, are you 2 dating?"

"Yes Mr. Freeman!"

Robert whispers. "Is my boy... uhh- blackmailing you?"

"No! Of course not! I really do love him Mr. Freeman."

Robert frowns and pauses for a moment but then he sighs. "Oh... well good for him. You know I met my wife when we were at your age..."

"Oh that's sweet... what was she like?"

"No... sorry cutie-pie I don't want to talk about it... just teach my boy some respect okay? And don't make me a great granddaddy! I'm already too old for that crap!" Robert goes out of his way and tries not to swear at Jazmine.

She nods her head. "Okay Mr. Freeman! I'll go look for Huey now."

She walks a couple blocks down the street, towards a dirt path leading to their hill with an oak tree on top. She wants to talk to him so badly, almost longing for his company but as the hill gets into view, she sees...

No one.

Where is he? I- Where?

She's kinda lost for words... not surprised that she's wrong but surprised that he's not there... Jazmine walks back to the Freeman house like a lost puppy, looking for her other half.

She sits in front of the Freeman's door, looking, waiting for him, in case he went outside for a walk. She takes in the cold dark air and she tries to look at the stars. It's very cloudy this night and they cover the night sky, she can barely see the moon, or any stars at all, as night clouds loomed over Woodcrest

Then she notices something. A loud thud. Then another one. Then another one. It was coming from the garage. She stands up and slowly walks to the door.

It was Huey. She can hear him.

She opens the door.

She sees Huey in workout clothes, a tanktop and basketball shorts as he practices fighting with a punching bag. He's training what looks to be boxing moves. The first thing she notices is the bandage across his left shoulder... then his muscles...

One last punch. A thundering blow can be heard as he throws his fist at the punching bag.

He notices Jazmine standing at the door. He is sweating, out of breath. Jazmine can't help but feel a slight warmth in her thighs.

"H- Huey... Your shoulder."

"It's fine. Do you mind knocking next time? I'll take a shower then we can talk."

Jazmine almost wanted to grab him by the hand and take him all for herself but she pushes those dirty thoughts away as she lets him through the door.

They both get out of the garage and start walking the few steps into the house.

"Why are you exercising this late at night?"

"I was stabbed Jazmine. After my shoulder healed, I want to get better so maybe next time I won't get stabbed again."

"You weren't at the hill..."

"You thought I was gonna be there? This isn't some romance TV show and besides... I want to train."

Jazmine tries to find her words. "C- can I train with you then?"

"Seriously?"

"Seriously. You should include me in your training, it'll be fun."

"Jazmine it's not fun and come on I know you just want spend more time with me."

"Y- Yes. I want to talk to you. And spend time with my boyfriend."

"Fine then." They turn around and head back to the garage. He continues. "Go home and change clothes."

"W- wait... before I go, did you ask Wuncler to bring the pony here? Was that y- you?"

"I can neither confirm nor deny that." Huey smirks. Wow 2 smiles in 1 day.

Jazmine changed into her workout clothes and she makes sure to tell her parents that she'll be training with Huey.

Tom says hesitantly. "I don't know sweetie... doesn't Huey swing katanas and swords around?"

"Daddy it's my birthday remember? Please? And I've done this before! Huey taught me how to defend myself when I was 15 remember?"

"Yes... well... it is free self defense lessons...' Tom thinks for a bit. "Okay sweetie just be back by 9:30 okay? Have fun and please no swords!"

"Yay! Thanks!"

Jazmine heads to Huey's garage and sees him pumelling the punching bag again. Punch after punch after punch, he looks really determined. She notices that stare, so full of anger and fury, she notices its the exact same stare he has when he protects her.

One last punch. Another loud thud.

"Hey you." Jazmine makes a longing smile.

"Okay you try... I gotta grab my bottle."

"Really?" Jazmine goes to the punching bag, it was still spinning from the force of Huey's punch.

At the side, Huey is watching while drinking from his water bottle. "Just punch it."

Jazmine throws a weak little punch, barely making the bag move.

"No. Not like that Jazmine. Punch it."

"I- I can't."

"Jazmine it's not a damn puppy. It's a punching bag. Just punch it."

"Ugh how can I punch it now when you mention puppies!"

Huey gets close to her, he gently grabs her wrist. "Punch like this." He guides her fist and strikes the bag.

Huey instructs her. "Come on Jazmine don't be childish, I know you can hit it."

Jazmine understands. She needs to be more mature about this. With a bit of force she starts punching.

"Remember your training? A few years ago?" Huey asks.

"Yeah." She replies.

"Okay. Do some simple movements. 1-2 combos."

Jazmine follows Huey's words, She does a left jab, then a right cross punch, and repeats it over and over. Jazmine gets into a rhythm as she throws punches in quick succession. Soon enough Jazmine is panting and sweating.

Huey speaks from behind her. "Hey."

She stops and turns around. Huey is holding 2 water bottles in each hand, he offers her a bottle.

"Thanks." She says while gasping for air.

He notices the necklace around her neck. "Nice necklace."

"Oh... thanks. Caesar gave it to me."

"Good for you." Huey takes a sip of his water.

Jazmine feels slightly embarrassed. "I- I like it. But.. does it bother you?"

"No. Why are you asking?" Huey lifts an eyebrow.

"Oh. I'm just sorry if it makes you feel jealous..."

"Why would I be jealous?"

"It just feels weird..."

"I'm not jealous, if it doesn't feel weird then wear it. You can wear whatever you want."

"Really?"

"Really. Now let me show you another beginner movement."

Jazmine smiles, noticing her cheeks flushed. She kinda feels bad that she forgot to take Caesar's gift off but she can't believe Huey is so understanding. Jazmine lifts her hair and takes out the necklace before she returns to the punching bag.

"Hurry up." He calls to her.

"Sorry so what's next?"

"1-1-2, you do left jab, right jab, left cross. Like this." He demonstrates a combo in slow motion. "Jab, jab, cross."

Jazmine stands beside him and repeats Huey's combo. Jab then jab then cross.

"Again."

Jab then jab then cross.

"Alright faster."

Jab then jab then cross.

"Good." Huey nods his head.

Jazmine gives him a loving smile.

After half an hour of just pure boxing exercises Jazmine is absolutely exhausted, they sit in 2 chairs placed next to each other as they cool down and rest. They were still in their workout clothes sweating buckets.

"We only got one bottle left." Huey sighs.

"It's okay we can share it." She replies.

"You're really serious with the whole following me and being by my side that you've promised. You're even here boxing with me."

"Yeah... I just can't take my eyes off you!" Jazmine flirts.

"Well... thanks. It does get prettty lonely in the garage."

"You're welcome." Jazmine places a gentle kiss on his lips. "My birthday was really fun."

"So I've heard. Granddad couldn't stop bragging to me about how much cake he ate."

Jazmine giggles. "I got a lot of gifts. Cin got me those cool shades that her friends always match in!"

"Nice."

"Charlotte gave me some cute little bunny slippers, They looked so adorable!"

He asks. "Bunny slippers?"

"Yeah there's a cute bunny on your toes- Oh! Also there was this cute boy sitting on top your roof and I think he convinced Mr. Wuncler to bring Mr. Sammy Davis Jr. to my party!"

"Yeah I wonder who that could be." Huey's scowl lighten.

"I don't know but I heard he hates going to parties. Maybe I should try to get his number." Jazmine starts snuggling close to Huey, still in their damp workout clothes.

She takes a sniff. "Huey you smell kinda good."

"Jazmine we smell terrible, we just worked out."

"Shush! We should workout more often, your manly scent is kinda having an effect on me." She laughs dopily.

"You sick freak."

"Hey! Okay okay... I shouldn't have said that." Jazmine blushes at her words, then she remembers Riley's gift. "Hey Huey. Riley gave me something weird for my birthday."

Huey sighs. "What did he give you?"

"He gave me an envelope. It said To: Jazmine on the back. What is it?"

Huey thinks for a bit, trying to remember. "Oh."

"Oh what?"

"Damnit Riley... well... it's a letter. For you."

"A letter?"

"Yeah. I wrote it in November, after we went grocery shopping together for my granddad. You fell asleep in the car and I drove home while it was snowing."

"I remember."

"It's a letter where I wrote how I felt that day... I don't know why I did but I just felt like I had to unbottle my feelings."

"Should I open it?"

Huey thinks for a bit. "Tell you what... Whenever you feel sad or when you feel like crying, and I'm not there for you when you need me... then open the letter."

She repeats his words. "When I feel sad and you're not there, I'll open it. Okay I'll remember that." She smiles, trying to guess what's inside the letter.

Then Jazmine kisses him again, this time caressing him and expressing her love, he returns the favor and wraps her around his arms. "You know Huey. I'm really happy with you. I thank God everyday for bringing us together."

"Oh. I'm happy with you too." Huey sighs. "Jazmine can we stop being emotional... I just want to rest..."

"I'm serious though. We were so different, basically opposites... How did we find each other? The odds were so against us..."

"Well 2 people don't need to be exact copies to be together."

"I guess." Jazmine replies.

"And... over the years we conditioned ourselves to depend each other, and support each other's needs."

"Yes, but that's all psychology stuff Huey. My question is... why do you love me?"

Huey sighs, he is backed against a corner. "We started dating recently because I realized that I'm just hurting myself if I don't. I've had a crush on you since we were little. Because you were the only person who actually listened to me, even to this day it feels like you're the only one who understands who I am. And I guess that crush just turned into love."

Jazmine hums in response. Her head is leaning against his chest.

"Are you happy now? Satistied with the answer?"

"Very satistfied."

"Can I go now? We gotta take a shower."

"mMmm let's take a shower together." She whispers.

"No. Follow me everywhere sure, except the shower."

Jazmine feels her face go red, realizing what she just said. "S-sorry..."

"I'll walk you home, it's late now."

"Okay... thanks Huey. But..." Jazmine snuggles him even tighter "5 more minutes like this please..."

Huey sighs. "...You're welcome. You left your necklace on the table."

She whispers. "Leave it... I don't care about that stupid necklace... I only want you..."

"Alright..."
