Back again! Looks like it's time- for a wedding?! Huh?
Indeed, a wedding! BUT WAIT! This is Marth's wedding to the Fairy Queen we're talking about! Oh, what is going to happen?! Find out, right now!
The Journey To Restore Our Waterfall! Chapter 6: A Royal Wedding!
"WHOO-HOO-HOO!"
Bowser landed his magical carpet about a foot ahead of Ganon's.
"Ha, I beat you again!" he sang.
Ganon rolled his eyes. Since leaving Su Amaryl, they'd kept having what Bowser called " races of evil."
"Hey, guys," said Falco, "I wonder what ever happened to that fairy, Rose. Remember I told you guys about her?"
And well, wouldn't you know, just then there was a sound like wind chimes and she appeared next to his ear.
"Oh! Rose, allow me to introduce you to the others! This is Mario, his younger brother Luigi, his other brother Dr. Mario, Bowser, Princesses Peach, Daisy and Zelda,Yoshi, Captain Falcon, Link, Young Link, Kirby, Mr. Game&Watch, Pikachu and his younger sister Pichu, Ganondorf, Prince Marth, Prince Roy, Jigglypuff, you've already met Mewtwo, Samus, Donkey Kong, and Fox McCloud."
Rose smiled, bowed, and said "Pleased to meet all of you. You know, I can't help wondering what you all are doing here in our realm."
Falco sighed and recited the whole story of Sinister Guy stealing The Sparkly Crystal Rod that made the enchanted waterfall of Mushroom Kingdom flow.
"..and since the waterfall is enchanted, it keeps the Mushroom Kingdom balanced. So if the Rod isn't returned soon, the ground will rise and swallow the entire kingdom, INCLUDING our castle!"
Rose gasped. "Sounds terrible! But I think I can help."
"You see, over in the Fairy Kingdom, there is an oracle fairy, and I bet she can tell you where this Sinister Guy is! Come on, follow me!"
Curious, the Smashers followed the fairy to an oversized red flower. It was like a cross between a rose and a tulip, glittery and shiny, and it towered over a ring of tiny little purple flowers. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the Smashers found themselves in a place that seemed to have a sky of glowing pearly white instead of blue, and flowers as big as cars instead of solid ground.
"Welcome, friends, to the Fairy Kingdom!" said Rose.
"It's beautiful!" breathed Peach, looking around in awe, "Buut does the ground feel kinda wobbly to anyone?" She looked down and found they were standing on the glittery red flower, which had also grown to the size of a car, and was so high up you couldn't solid ground, just more glowing pearly sky.
"Oh, that explains it.." she muttered. Smashers, be careful up there!
"Yeah," said Rose, "The author's right, be careful. We fairies can fly, but if you guys fall, you'll be stuck in The Between-Realms Bottomless Pit forever! Now, come on, carefully."
Luigi looked down and turned green. "If my legs can even move.."
As they went, fairies stopped and stared. They'd never seen humans, and certainly never a big group of humans and other creatures. Suddenly, a tallerh, thin one wearing bright yellow petals floated over and asked Rose, "Hey, is the circus in town?"
Dr. Mario looked affronted! "Now see here, incompetent-"
Rose silenced him with a glare, then said to the yellow fairy, "No, Daffodil, they're on a journey. They're from outside the toaster!"
Daffodil's mouth fell open. "WOW! I wonder what the Queen will think about this?"
Suddenly a voice demanded, "WHO is talking about me?"
From nowhere, a splendid (If somewhat small) carriage made of all white flowers and pulled by tiny multicolored horses with wings appeared. In it, there sat a fairy with violet hair, and matching gown. A crown twinkled on her head. She glared at Daffodil. "Why do you speak of ume, you worthless-" Suddenly, she caught sight of the Smashers. "Standing up in the Queen's presence? On your knees, NOW!"
Everyone knelt, except for the three princesses, two princes and Ganondorf.
"We are royalty, and we do not bow," he sneered.
Uh, wait a minute then, Bowser, why did you..?
"Years of Mario brothers beatings have worn me down, okay?!"
The Queen's eyes flashed fire. "NO ONE may be higher at any time than I, Queen Lisera!"
She about to punish the royals in some way for their disobedience, when her expression changed completely. "WHAT do we have here?"
The Smashers looked up in surprise, and found Her Majesty's lavender eyes locked on Marth! She looked for a moment as if her eyes glazed over, then scraped out, "You, what is your name?"
"Prince Marth of Altea, your highness." he responded confusedly.
To the Smasher's surprise, Queen Lisera hopped daintily out of the carriage and hovered before Marth. She seemed about two inches bigger than the other fairies, and clad in long, flowing gown of flower petals that looked like silk, with beautiful, intricate flower stitching. She cleared her throat, then announced, "Guards, go inform the palace to get ready for a wedding!"
Every single being in earshot gasped. "WHAT?"
The Queen glared at them. "Silence!" She turned back to the guards. "Make sure every square inch of the palace is decorated, and our wedding garments are made the finest in the land!"
Marth stood dumbfounded, but most of the Smashers realized something had to be done. Now. "Your highness," Luigi piped up. She turned to him. "I do not mean to be rude, but he is far too big for you to be properly wed!"
That would put a stop to this nonsense for sure! Marth finally seemed to snap back to reality. "Well, he's right, sorry about that, Your Highness, but we've gotta go!"
But the Queen ignored him. "Not a problem."
All of a sudden, everything seemed different. Bigger. The Smashers looked at Lisera in horror. She was now the same size as Zelda!
She smirked triumphantly. "Now you have no excuses!" And with that, she grabbed the arm of the unfortunate prince, seated them in the now full-sized carriage, and took off for the palace with crowds of buzzing fairies behind them. The other Smashers stared after it, too shocked to move.
"What are we gonna do now?!" Daisy exclaimed.
"Simple, we get him back!" Fox said. "Come on, there's no time to lose!"
"STOP!" cried Rose all of a sudden, "The Queen will throw you in the dungeon if you try anything now! We've got to think of some way to surprise-attack them!"
So, they set about planning.
Meanwhile, Marth didn't know how he would get out of this mess. The only way he could think of, anyway, was to try to reason the queen out of it. "You know, this is not such a good idea. I mean, we are not even properly acquainted!"
Lisera chuckled. "So? As long as you're beautiful, that's good enough for me!"
As the carriage drove on, Marth began sinking farther and farther into despair. Not only had he been torn from his friends, but he would have to spend the rest of his life inside a toaster, ruling fairies instead of his own kingdom! "That is, if I even get a say in the matter.." he thought.
"We've arrived!" the coachman announced.
Marth looked and saw the palace, a dazzling place made of all-white flowers that seemed to have a pearly glaze, like the sky. He climbed out and followed the Queen inside.
"Make way, all, for Her Majesty and her soon-to-be- king!" cried a guard.
A royal fanfare blasted, causing everyone to drop to their knees, yet trying to get a good glimpse of the newly-affiliated prince.
"Do you like it, my darling? This is your new palace!" gloated Lisera. Marth could only nod weakly. Then the queen's expression changed. "I forgot, you shouldn't see me before the wedding!" She clapped her hands and a manservant appeared at her side. "Take my lovely groon to his new chambers and prepare him accordingly for the wedding." She turned to her ladies-in-waiting. "Come, we must prepare ourselves, as well, for the greatest day of our lives!"
A bit later, the Queen stood in her dressing chamber, laughing and chatting gaily while numerous royal ladies flitted around, helping prepare. "When we are through, I will be the most beautiful brides in the history of the world!" she gushed as she applied rouge to her cheeks.
Her chief lady-in-waiting nodded. "Of course! And your names sound so splendid together: Lisera and Marth!"
"You mean: Queen Lisera and King Marth!"
"Hm, I don't know about that!"
The Queen whirled around and found three ladies who looked- rather like those three human princesses from earlier!
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?! HOW DARE YOU INVADE MY ROYAL CHAMBERS!"
The enraged Queen fired a magical blast that caught her opponents off-guard. "You imbeciles will NOT interfere!" she shouted. With that, she made another move to fire, but the princesses managed to dodge quickly- right into the arms of the guards!
"Take these three and exile them from the palace at once!" commanded Lisera, "And if you see them again, throw them in the dungeon!"
Several hours later, all of the Fairy Kingdom was gathered in the palace courtyard, anxiously awaiting the biggest event to ever grace their kingdom. All of a sudden, music poured from nowhere, wedding music to be exact, and the back doors of the palace flew open, revealing tons of fairies throwing flower petals everywhere, and a flock of fairy-sized birds. Then, the Queen appeared, and the audience, despite this being a wedding, couldn't hold back a cheer.
Inside, it was almost time for the grooms, now dressed in beautiful clothes of white petals just like the Queen, to come out. "I can't believe this is happening to me.." he groaned. "But.." he glanced at the mirror on the wall across from him. "at least I look great..!"
A guard stepped into the room. "Master, your cue."
Marth sighed, wringing his hands. "Well, here goes nothing.. " He dragged himself out into the flower petal-drenched courtyard.
A chorus of cheers greeted him. He couldn't help a small smile at the sound. Slowly as possible, he made his way to the platform where the bride was waiting. The priest began.
"Indeed, Your Majesty, Queen Lisera, might you take this, Prince Marth, to be yours in marriage, storm or sleet, hail or snow, forevermore?"
"Indeed, I do!" said the Queen promptly.
However, Marth's vows were not spoken so quickly. The audience held their breath, wondering what would happen next. Certainly this was the most exciting spectacle ever!
"In..deed..I-"
A flash of fire passed through the Queen's eyes, unseen by anyone but the groom.
" -don't!"
The crowd GASPED! But hey, that wasn't Marth's voice!
"Yeah, that D.K. D.K. want to bring in drama."
The Smashers had arrived! "Aaall raht, Yer Majesty we can do this nahce n' easy-like.." said Captain Falcon loudly.
"Yes, just give us our friend back, and we'll be done!" said Yoshi brightly.
A ring of guards stepped forward from their stations.
"Wait a moment!" Lisera called to them. "On my honor as Queen, I will fight for my soon-to-be-king myself." On her last word, she tugged her veil from her head.
She raised her arms. "Thorn Tornado!" A giant, swirling swirl of thorns made its way toward the Smashers!
"Nayru's Love!" Zelda cried, reflecting most of them back toward their sender, and the others scrambled to dodge the rest.
Then a shadow ball knocked Lisera off her feet. But she got right back up, and took to the air. The audience was screaming and cheering. NOW it was the most exciting spectacle ever!
Marth, stranded by himself, called out, "Rose! Rose. Come here!"
The fairy flew over at once. "Rose, help us! Can you get us out of here?!"
"Yes, I think so!" She looked over at each Smasher, moving her hands and lips, then said aloud, "Sorry, but we really can't stay, remove us from here right away!"
With that, the Smashers found themselves suddenly not in the Queen's courtyard! They looked around and saw the glittery red flower in the distance behind them.
"WHEW! Was that ever close!" sighed Link.
"I'll say.. why in all my days, I never.." muttered Mario, picking up his fallen hat.
"Thank you so much, everyone." said Marth with a bow.
"Now we're all complete again!" Pichu exclaimed.e
"But, oh, we never got to see the oracle fairy.." said Mr. Game&Watch disappointedly.
To his surprise, Rose said, "That's okay. While we were running, I got a flash of insight of my own!"
The Smashers looked surprised.
"That's right, I saw a flash of Sinister Guy, cackling on top of Burnt Black Mountain! That's where he must be!"
"Well, that's all fine and dandy, but we don't know where that is!" Samus said.
"I guess I'll just have to stick with you guys from here on out and show you the way!" said Rose, winking.
The Smashers cheered, and then, set off for Burnt Black Mountain, knowing that with the addition of Rose, their journey would be a bit easier.
With Marth is safely back among his friends, they must now find and climb their way up the-said-to-be-haunted Burnt Black Mountain! Complete with falling rocks, near-death falls and the possibility of ghosts! We'll see what happens next chapter!
Sounds scary to me! See you then, and peace out!
