I.. I can't move.

Something is... holding me? No... someone is hugging me.

Why- why is there a stranger in my bed

W-Where am I? Am I still in Woodcrest?

N-no I'm supposed to be in Chicago. Wait! Who is he?!

Jazmine opens her eyes, slowly anxious. She's just starting to wake up and she sees an arm holding her in place. She almost felt fear, she almost felt terror, she wasn't expecting to wake up with a man in her bed.

Then she looks at her bedroom, the window and the morning sun pointed down her face, she looks at the neat bookcase that she bought full of books, she looks at the new dresser she bought for all her clothes, and she looks at the man beside her. Him. Huey.

He's straddling her, one leg on top of hers, and an arm around her in a hug. A realization comes to Jazmine, they fell asleep together, in an embrace. In a cute, romantic, perfect embrace. She felt scared when she woke up, it's still dawning to her that she's sleeping in bed with someone. With the only person she'll ever want be with.

She doesn't feel lust, she doesn't feel any regret, or disgust, or disdain. She feels a pure sense of true happiness.

She looks at the clock on their nightstand, she shakes him gently "Huey... wake up. It's 8:20... w-we overslept!"

He slowly groans and starts opening his eyes. As his vision returns, he sees Jazmine, glowing with bright green eyes and a sweet loving smile.

"Wow..." Is the first thing he says in the morning.

"What is it?" She asks quietly.

Her face, her smile, illuminated in the morning sunlight. "You look beautiful."

She blushes, hard. So much so that she turns around and covers herself in a pillow.

Huey stands up and walks to her side of the bed. "Can I pick you up?"

Jazmine keeps blushing "Yes."

Huey carries her in his arms, her face nested on his bicep. Jazmine wouldn've never imagined her morning to be this perfect, she feels so loved, so appreciated, so happy. Then he carries her to their bathroom, where he sets her down.

"Brush your teeth."

"Why right now?"

"Just do it." He orders her.

She does as she's told and Huey does the same. After two minutes of looking at each in the mirror and her body leaning against him, they finish and rinse their mouths.

"Done?" He asks.

"Done."

Huey gently pushes her to the bathroom wall, full of desire, their faces melting. As his body presses against hers, Jazmine can't help but let out a loud moan.

"I- I love you." She whispers.

He doesn't respond with words, but rather with action, pressing against her, running his hands against the fabric of her loose shirt. Their lips on each others, his hands running up and down, her knees weakening. She's done this before, she's seen this routine, their love, their desire, manifest into a steamy makeout session, and she'll never get tired of it. However, a new sensation, a new touch is felt through her body.

Their bodies collide. His waist grinding on her hips. Huey has always held restraint, held back, but today he moves with desire. She's never seen Huey like this before, with so much wanting, Huey Freeman has never been the person to ask for things, and yet his body is asking something from her.

She feels him, her hips can feel him, something hard, protruding from the thin fabric of his pants.

"Huey..." She moans again.

"You look beautiful... that pretty little smile of yours... you look so fuckable right now." He talks to her in a deep, primal voice.

At this point, her legs are off the ground, her thighs supported by his arms.

"I love you. pant I love you." She repeats.

Their rush of ecstasy gets interrupted by a phone ringing.

"I.. uh... it's my phone." Jazmine pulls away, annoyed at the caller.

"Where is it?"

"Bedroom."

Huey lifts her up and carries Jazmine to their bedroom, causing a few giggles from her. He sits down on their bed with Jazmine sitting on his lap.

She picks up her phone "Hello?"

Tom's voice is heard from the other end "Hello sweetie!"

"Dad? Wh-why are you calling this early in the morning? It- It's 8!"

"Well I just wanted to come check up on you!" Tom says happily. "Hey... Wait a minute! It's supposed to be 7am in Chicago!"

Jazmine looks at Huey, who's nodding his head to confirm "I- uh... I guess I haven't adjusted my clocks yet! Thanks dad!" She speaks in a panicked tone.

"How's your second- I mean third day of Chicago? Did you do anything fun yesterday? You know your mother and I are really worried, you didn't call us yesterday!"

"I'm sorry dad. I just got a little busy... unpacking and stuff."

"Oh. Don't work yourself too hard sweetie."

Jazmine says "I won't. Anyways. Uh... Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

"Heh- I'm actually going to Huey's apartment later in the day, to say thanks. I'll let him know that you said hi! Bye swee-

"Dad wait!" She says, almost yelling into her phone.

"What is it?"

Jazmine hugs Huey tighter, finding comfort as she prepares what she has to say "I... uh..."

"What is it?"

Huey whispers to her ear "It's better to tell now."

She takes a deep breath "IDitchedChicagoAndILoveHueyAndImGoingToLiveWithHimForever. Bye!"

She ends the call, she almost threw the phone away, thinking it might explode on her.

"Could've gone better." He says.

Huey holds two bowls of oatmeal, with berries sprinkled on top, he places both of them down on their dining table.

Jazmine has her head down, her hair still wet from her shower. She cringes at how she handled the situation.

"Ugh... I feel terrible."

"How so?" He says.

"Because. That. And we were just making out! I.. I- I feel so dirty. And all this time my parents think I'm in Chicago doing my studies and here I am lying and making out with you!"

"Huh." He looks at her with a blank stare and eats his oatmeal.

"I- uh That was weird, awkward, and... gross... Huey we were.. we were going to have sex!"

"...wasn't my intention."

"Stop lying!"

"..." He keeps eye contact with her, analyzing her facial expressions.

"I feel like I'm breaking my parents' trust. And my dad is coming soon! What am I supposed to say to him!?"

"Tell the truth."

She yells at him "Easy for you to say!"

"It's my problem too..." He breaks eye contact and continues eating.

She pauses. She regrets raising her voice "I... sorry... I didn't mean to yell at you... I- I'm just nervous."

"I know."

"...I didn't mean to fight you... I'm not mad at you... I- I'm really sorry."

"It's fine."

She holds his hand, trying to get his attention "But.. what am I going to... do?"

"I'm gonna help. It's our problem. If you're going to talk to Tom then I'll be with you. Okay?"

She eases her tension "I- Okay. Thank you Huey. And sorry again."

"You don't have to keep saying sorry."

"I just- don't want to lose you again. Over a stupid fight again."

"I don't want to lose you too. We're together, I'm going to help you. Don't ever forget that."

"Y-you're right... we're better now. I promise... I won't lash out on you... okay?"

"I promise too."

They continue eating their breakfast together, with Jazmine still holding his hand.

Jazmine and Huey are sitting together in their home office. For now they are sharing a single desk, with Jazmine's laptop and Huey's PC. They've been trying to enroll Jazmine's classes for university, which will start in three days. Huey had already picked and enrolled in Maryland, mostly law and political science courses, which will be a hassle to catch up considering he has to run his organization downtown, however with Jazmine's support and sharing workloads he's fairly confident that he can work and study while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

They each have their office chairs. The type of chairs with wheels on them.

"Are you looking to minor in something?" Huey asks Jazmine.

"Minor what?"

"You're majoring in Business Administration. And you need a minor in another subject."

"Hmm..." She thinks about it. "How bout I minor in law?"

"You're gonna graduate in like 6 years if you do that."

"Political science?"

"Same thing. If we want to finish university in the same year as me then you need to minor in something business."

"I like Business Communications."

"That could work." He prepares Jazmine's online form in his computer.

She takes a look and goes over her courses. As she looks at the online document she looks at the tuition fee.

"6000 per semester!?" She gasps.

"Overpriced and unfair. The effects of capitalizing education."

"I- Is my Wuncler scholarship covering the whole thing?"

"Yeah. You're fine."

"Phew! Good."

She recalls the night when Huey and her friends helped Ed and Rummy steal Wuncler's will. How Huey had this intricate plan for Ed to inherit the Wuncler fortune instead of his father. It's the whole reason why they were all given scholarships. And while Jazmine wasn't even part of the whole operation, Huey had managed to convince Ed to cover for her education too.

She smiles at the memory "Do you have... freetime at lunch? On your schedule?"

"Yeah I get a 40 minute lunch break. Same as you."

"Then we can meet up and have lunch together everyday."

"That'd be nice."

She kisses him in the cheek "It will."

He squeezes her hand and goes to print her form. They still have a few phone calls to make, to confirm her enrollment and her scholarships but she's officially a student at the University of Maryland. It's ready just on time to show any incoming parents who are going to visit them at any moment.

Huey gives her the newly-printed forms "Here."

"Thank you." She grins sweetly.

"Listen... I want to apologize, for this morning."

"Apologize for what?"

"For escalating things, in the bathroom. When we woke up."

She blushes "Oh! That? I- I don't mind."

"We're not ready and I- I lost control with myself. I'm sorry."

"I- I lost control too... but it's fine." She says.

"Okay then."

"Okay."

"Alright..." His eyes drift away from her, trying to stay focused.

"Are we ready?" She asks curiously.

"I don't know."

"Why... why did you- lose control?"

"The uhh- sunlight, you were glowing and your smile."

She reminds him "You said I was fuckable."

"Sorry... I didn't mean to treat you like a piece of meat- I apologize for my words."

She giggles "Just teasing. And sorry I said it was gross... It wasn't. I liked it."

After another hour of work-at-home tasks, Huey had her get caught up with what she missed. He had made a new organization called the Freeman Foundation, which Jazmine thought was a catchier name than NBP, she was taught about their procedures and filing system in the office, what her and Huey's responsibilities are and some of his next plans in expanding. Jazmine had taken the liberty to suggest her own ideas to him, and considering that his office doesn't generate that much revenue from donations and city grants, Jazmine suggests that she should take charge in setting up fundraisers to fund Huey's expansion.

"I've done it before, when I was 10. Riley invited me, Cindy and another kid to sell cookies."

"I remember."

"I promise I won't get involved with the mafia if you let me do fundraisers!"

He smiles, causing her to gasp. "Thanks. We need the money."

"Awww. You're welcome!" She squeeks as if she had seen a puppy.

Suddenly a knock is heard on their front door. They both look at each other.

"Tom."

"Dad."

"I'll open it." He stands up.

"No, I'll do it." She stands up too.

"He's gonna freak out if you surprise him. Let me get him settled down and give him a warning. Okay?"

"But-"

"Trust me." He squeezes her hand.

"Okay. I trust you... I'll just hide in the bedroom?"

"Yeah. I'll come to you when he's ready."

"Thanks... for helping me."

He nods and heads to the front door, while Jazmine goes to their bedroom and closes the door behind her.

"Hi Huey!"

"Morning. Mr. Dubois. Why are you here in DC again?"

"Oh nothing. Just wanted to say thanks, I got you a gift!" Tom has a wrapped present in his hands.

"Tom, the last time you gave me a gift was a brand new car because I saved you from Stinkmeaner."

"I know! Don't worry! I didn't go overboard this time."

"Do you wanna come in then?" He invites him in their apartment.

Tom looks around "Wow! I see you've been doing some decorating! Fun choice... to hang up a picture of a puppy. Didn't expect you to have a more sillier side but it's nice!"

Huey looks at the picture of puppies that Jazmine had put on their wall "Yeah... when I get mad... I look at that picture to calm down." He says, trying not to look angry.

"Teddy bears?" Tom says as he sits on the couch.

"Yeah. Why not? It's my... artistic choice, a friend of mine said to include happier stuff in my apartment."

"Ah I see! I think it's nice Huey! Just didn't know you had it in you to let loose is all!" Tom laughs, with a widening smile.

"So what's in the present?" He asks.

"Open it."

Huey opens the wrapped gift to reveal a bottle of wine.

Tom explains "It's a 2002 Vintage French Champagne... I know you don't drink but Robert and I were planning to share the bottle when you and Riley moved out of his house. But now... I just think it's kinda wrong to drink it without him."

Huey's scowl lighten "It's a good gift and I can just put it up on display. Thanks Tom."

"Glad you liked it! Thanks for the word of advice, you were a real lifesaver by giving me a place to stay."

"You're welcome."

"And I've patched things up with Sarah... we feel relieved, happy. We're not going to rush the divorce but we plan to spend time away. I've come to terms about it, it's something we both have to do... thanks for your advice."

"Yeah. Listen Tom... I have something to say as well."

Tom smiles "Yeah? What is it Huey?"

"Jazmine and I had a talk."

"Oh really? Today? She was acting weird this morning."

"About that..."

"Are you two working stuff out as well? That's nice."

"In a sense."

"What is it Huey?"

"Jazmine made a decision to deviate... we had a talk and she said she doesn't want to study in Chicago anymore."

"Really? Why didn't she tell me? Where will she study instead?"

"Here."

"In Maryland? With you?" Tom asks, his smile getting weaker and weaker.

"Yes."

"Where will she stay?" He asks.

"She'll be staying in this apartment."

Tom pieces the clues together, the teddy bears, the bean bag chair, the puppy painting on the wall, and an identical copy of white tennis shoes that his daughter also wore.

"Huey." Tom's eyes widen in shock, in fear.

Huey goes to their bedroom door and knocks, as the door opens he sees his daughter awkwardly walk to see him.

"Hi dad." She waves meekly.

The Dubois sit on the couch while Huey plops down on the bean bag chair with his arms resting on his knees. Huey's gonna have a headache from all their panicked yelling.

"Why didn't you tell me!?"

"I thought I told you on the phone!"

"It sounded like gibberish!"

She argues back "I just got here yesterday!"

"Young lady! You lied to your mother! You lied to me! You said you were in Chicago!"

She talks hurriedly "I'm sorry! I wasn't ready to tell you!"

"GAAHH!" Tom was definitely not prepared for this.

"I'm sorry! Look dad! I'm enrolled! I'm starting classes next week! I'll be fine!"

"You!" Tom points to Huey "What did you do!?"

"It's not his fault dad! I went here by myself!"

"No no no no no no no no! YOu are NoT sleeping here wit-

Tom looks at their bedroom, then back to Jazmine. He gasps "You slept with him!?"

"Yes! I mean- We slept! Just sleeping! Nothing else!"

Huey remains quiet, he just sits in the bean bag chair, his body slowly submerging as he observes the scene.

Jazmine adds "Nothing else! Nope! Nothing!"

"Jazmine Dubois you are grounded! You are going back to Woodcrest!"

"WhAT?!" She shrieks in a high-pitched voice "You can't ground me!"

"Yes I can!"

"Dad! I'm 18! And I'm staying with Huey! This is our home! Huey! Say something! Help!"

"Tom I did not do anything with your daughter and we're sorry for not telling you sooner, we want to live and study together in Maryland, we are financially secure, and Jazmine isn't in Chicago anymore so you can visit us anytime now."

Jazmine nods and sits down beside him in the bean bag chair "See? Way better than Chicago. And I'm already enrolled."

Tom shakes his head "You're living with a boy."

"A boy that I've known my entire life and in a relationship that YOU already approved."

"You didn't even ask me! You lied to us! You need a blessing from your parents before you do these kinds of things sweetie!"

"Sorry. I should've told you sooner. That's our mistake." She admits.

"You're... you're gonna sleep with him!"

"I'll be safe! We'll be safe dad!"

Huey interjects "Should I be here for that conversation?"

"Stay!" Jazmine holds him down.

Tom glares at Huey angrily "If my daughter comes home crying because you hurt her I swear there'll be consenquences Freeman!"

"I won't hurt her."

Jazmine smiles at his response "This is Huey! Not some thug from the street dad! You can trust him! He does charity! He has a job! He owns an office with employees for Christ's sake! He's even going to the same law school that you went! How can you not approve him!? He's- he's perfect!"

"Perfect!?" Tom yells.

"I mean- l-ike- He's ideal! He's the ideal boy I should date! What more do you want dad!? Does he needs to be royalty for me to date him?!"

Huey squeezes her hand, in unison they look at Tom and waits for his verdict.

Tom sighs "Okay sweetie... You can stay here and do your studies. But you call us everyday and please no more lying. If Huey does anything to hurt you, call us."

"Okay."

Tom continues "I have to tell your mother... gosh Jazmine... you got ourselves in a pickle. I'm just uncomfortable that you're living with a boy instead of in a girls dorm room, are you sure you want to stay here?"

"I'm sure. I like it here. I even started decorating, isn't it nice?" She gestures to their apartment.

"It's nice Jazmine but what will you do in the capital?"

"I'm going to study and I'm going to work with Huey's charity and fundraising."

"Will you get a job? Living expenses here are expensive!"

"We're going to manage daddy. We already have jobs in the office."

"Alright." Tom heads out the door "I- I gotta think about this and discuss it with your mother... please Jazmine. Behave."

"I will."

"Huey. Behave."

"He will dad! I'll keep him in check!" She smiles.

"Okay." Tom puffs a sigh of relief "Bye sweetie. Have fun in- Maryland. You grow up so fast..."

"Thanks daddy. Bye!" She waves.

"Bye." Huey says as well.

Tom closes the door.

Jazmine looks at the closed door then back to Huey. Then the door then back to Huey again.

"Wait." Huey says as he stands up.

He opens the door and checks if Tom left, then he makes sure to lock it. As he closes the door and turns around he sees Jazmine jump on him.

"We did it!"

"Finally got that out of the way."

"It's time to celebrate!" She shouts.

"We've been shouting for an hour. Our neighbours are gonna file complaints on us..."

"Oops! Sorry forgot. Apartment."

"Yeah."

She whispers while making a celebratory dance "Yay... we did it."
