Today is a day off for Huey and Jazmine. In Washington DC, it is Columbus Day, a national holiday for Marylandians. Jazmine would be more than stoked to spend their free day on a date, like a trip to the museum or the zoo but she hasn't seen her parents for a month and she's really excited to visit.

She never really got homesick because the last time she's seen her parents they were still fighting, they weren't even motioning to a divorce until Huey gave Tom some advice. But in truth she feels kinda bad not being more aware and up to date with her parents recently. However, she's never going to get mad at Huey for detaching her from her family again, in fact she never really got mad in the first place. Jazmine loves him and she'll never let him go through a massive drama like that again, Huey is too busy, too busy helping people, too busy making Jazmine's and her future children's lives better by making the world a better place to live in. She can't burden him with emotional weight, he's the logical one and she's the emotional one, and it's Jazmine's job to take care of emotional stufff,

Future children

Everytime she gets emotional with Huey and tells him her feelings, it always results to her having a baby fever. She knows that they can't really afford the time to take care of one and it's almost selfish for her if she gets one and leave him stranded with so much work. But even when their careers and their relationship are only just blossoming and they are still in the cusps of beginning their lives, she can't help but think about children. She anticipates the day when they can get children, she doesn't care if she's in a mansion, or have million dollar bank accounts, or fancy clothes, she's just waiting for the day when they are ready to have a baby, it could take years, and definitely not months, because she has work to do, they have work to do and if they want to raise a kid then their kid better be raised in a world where millions of farm animals don't get murdered everyday or when healthcare isn't ridiculously expensive in the United States.

"I have a few calls to make..." Huey says.

"I'll make us some tea."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome!"

Huey retreats to his home office that's next to their bedroom and he makes a few work calls. In the kitchen Jazmine starts their morning with brewing some tea. After a few minutes Huey comes out and joins her in the kitchen.

She hands him his tea. "So... Woodcrest, dad, mom, Cindy, Caesar, Uncle Ruckus..."

Huey helps her make breakfast and packs their lunch. "Yeah."

"Excited?"

"I'm just preparing for the worst,"

She frowns "Oh. Worst as in?"

"Trouble."

"We're doing this together. We're a team."

He squeezes her hand "Friends and family aren't really my thing... that's why I have you."

She giggles "And I know it gives you headaches."

"Yeah..."

"Of course I'll handle it... all you need to do is give your cute scowls and hold my hand."

He sighs "Okay."

She reads his face, troubled and stressed. "Is something wrong Huey?"

"Riley isn't returning my calls, he's halfway across the world and he's not responding to my calls..."

...

...

...

Huey had already told her about Riley's decision to leave the US and join the French Foreign Legon, a branch of their military that recruits foreign citizens.

Jazmine replies "D-do you think he's alright?"

He sighs "If he got hurt, the French government would give me a call."

She snuggles up to him and gives him a hug 'Maybe he lost his phone and he can't speak French so he can't buy a new one."

"Possibly but some stores can speak English."

She comforts him "Are you worried?"

"A little."

"Maybe I can cheer you up with a snuggle on the couch... to calm your nerves." She can tell that his mind is racing, thinking of possibilities as to why his brother doesn't call, she really wants him to just relax.

He sighs again "Alright Jazmine."

They packed their lunch and they're driving down the highway on the 1 hour drive to Woodcrest. Huey hates surprises, Jazmine on the other hand loves it. She's planned this surprise visit for a week now ever since she learned about getting a day off. She's gonna bring some her old stuff back to their apartment, some clothes, some dresses, and her other stuff but most of all she really just wants to see her parents.

Huey is indifferent to all of it, he's not one to put sentimental value in places, and while he's uncomfortable visiting Woodcrest, especially their Granddad's house, he's going to go anyways and just suck it up and be done with it, for Jazmine's sake.

He sold the house a few months ago, he's heard new residents moved in, a retired elderly couple, which gives Huey a bit of closure. Nonetheless there's always an eerie feeling to revisit a dead family member's home, knowing that something happened and that they'll never come back.

Jazmine is driving the car again, either humming or singing along with the radio, trying to act cute in front of her beloved. "Sooo... a surpise visit. I can't wait to see my parents' faces!"

Huey escapes his daydreaming and plan-making and says a brief "Yeah."

"Maybe we can have a date in Woodcrest? How's that sound?"

"If you want. I don't mind."

"Or visit some friends! I gotta catch up with my girls! All my NBP friends and high school! I can't wait to tell them what we've been up to!"

"Do whatever you want. It's our day off." He relaxes.

"You'll be with me right?"

"Of course... unless my ear drums explode."

"Aww I thought you'd be used to all my yelling and loud girl noises." She smiles.

He smirks back "If you mean screaming at night and moaning in my ear the-

She cuts off him, blushing "Poor choice of words!"

"Right..." He says smugly, putting his hand on her thigh.

She smiles affectionately, her heart beating in a rapid pace "I wonder how my parents are..."

"Are they okay? You talk to them everyday."

"Dad says they're alright... but I feel like something is wrong."

"I see." He responds.

"Huey... you know more about this stuff. Do most divorces go smoothly? Am I just imagining things?"

"Most are uncontested, meaning they don't go to court and both parties agree on terms."

"My parents said they agreed on terms."

"Then they probably have an uncontested divorce and it will takes months to make it official... but you should still trust your instincts."

"I- okay... thanks sweetie."

He curiously asks "Are they still living together in the same house?"

"That's what they said, they still live and work together and they just sleep in separate rooms."

"Well... if it's bugging you then we can change plans and visit them straight away."

She responds "No. Let's visit Mr. Freeman first... I know that it's important for you."

Huey gently squeezes her thigh, she struggles to keep her eyes on the road and resist kissing him "Okay Jazmine... thanks."

A cool October afternoon descends upon Woodcrest, she always loved how there were so many trees and nature everywhere, it's such a contrast to their life in the big city. How in Autumn the leaves would fall and pile up on the ground, then she would play on them as a little kid, and a younger Huey would always scold her. She can't help but notice how far they've grown.

Woodcrest has always been a beautiful place, a sanctuary from the harsh truths in life, a wealthy little suburb amidst a flawed and impoverished world, that's Huey's opinion with this place but to Jazmine it always holds a special place in her heart as it's the place where she found the love of her life.

It's fall now in Woodcrest, the cold Autumn breeze is in the air. Jazmine drives their SUV to a small parking lot. They both get of the car and start walking.

Jazmine is wearing a chic floral dress and one of Huey's jackets on top. It's twice her size and her arms can barely reach the sleeves but she always insists on wearing his clothes. She's not really one to show much skin or dress to impress, she just wants to dress comfortable and she feels so safe and comforted wearing Huey's jackets and shirts.

Huey just finds her habit odd, he can't even get an explanation with psychology or human behavior, it's purely a Jazmine thing. He does it find amusing however, maybe even cute. On his side, he's wearing simple dark sweatpants, a shirt, and a dark brown jacket.

They exit the parking lot and walk for a minute, this street is specifically familiar to them, the street where she found him crying and where they reunited, prompting Jazmine to hold his hand tighter.

They enter the graveyard and walk directly to Robert's grave. Here Lies Robert Jebediah Freeman 1925-2019.

He cradles her and she sinks in his arms as they stand and look down his grave. No words are said, they simply share a moment of silence. Jazmine recalls her happy memories with Granddad, she tries her best not to shed a tear, but soon enough her waterworks go to work and pools of her tears soak the grass beneath them. She looks up to Huey and she sees a cold blank stare, she can't even fathom the things going through his mind.

Then with a kiss to her forehead, Huey signals for them to leave, giving out a long, gloomy sigh as they walk back to their car.

"Parents?" She starts the car's ignition.

"Yeah..." He closes his eyes and exhales.

"Are you okay Huey?"

"I'm fine, Just sad." Huey admits his feelings.

She caresses his face while his eyes are still closed. "I'm here for you... it's okay to be sad sometimes..."

"Thanks..." He sighs. "I love you. I promise to protect you... y-you're my only family left."

Jazmine cries again, tears welling up in her face "I l-love you too sweetie..."

Family

After sharing a heartfelt moment and a warm caring kiss, Jazmine drives towards Timid Deer Lane, towards her home.

"Mom's car isn't here..." She notices.

They both get out of the car and hold each other's hands. Jazmine takes a deep breath before ringing the doorbell to her parents' residence.

Ding Dong the doorbell rings.

"Jazmine? Huey? What are you two doing here?" Tom gives a confused smile.

She waves hello "Hi dad! Surprise! We came to visit!"

"I- umm- hi sweetie! A-are you two coming in?"

"Of course! We're visitng!" She excitedly responds.

Without waiting for Tom's reply, Jazmine and Huey enters the house. She gasps "Dad... what... happened here?"

She looks up to their house and sees it half-empty, like furniture was taken away and certain things missing. She's lived in this house for most of her life, she can tell that things are out of place.

"I- heh umm sweetie.. I- I wasn't expecting you to-" Tom nervously wipes his forehead, he's nervously sweating.

"Dad? What happened?"

"Y-your umm-"

"Dad?!"

"Your mother left... a long time ago."

"AAHHHHH!" She shrieks.

"You lied! You lied! You lied!" Jazmine yells at her dad.

"It was for the best!" He says apologetically, slightly scared at his own daughter.

"Dad! I-I hate you! Do you know what happened last time when mom left you?!"

"What?"

"She went partying and drinking at nightclubs! She's sleeping with other people!" Jazmine's face flicker in anger and disgust, Huey stands behind her with his arms crossed and a scowl.

"She doesn't do that! And we're already divorced!"

Jazmine gets even more furious "You're what?! You said that you weren't divorced yet! You said that you still had to do the paperwork!"

"I- uhh..." Tom hides his face in shame.

"Dad what happened?! You said I shouldn't lie to you! And yet- I hate you! You're such a hypocrite!"

"I- I am... I'm a hypocrite... I'm sorry..."

"Dad!"

"Your mother and I decided not to tell you... w-we still keep in touch but we didn't want to bother you with your studies and your life..."

"How can you reason with me that I shouldn't know about my parents' own divorce!" Jazmine shrieks.

"Because the last time, when your mother was going to leave... you had a big fight with Huey and you had a panic attack... you couldn't stop crying! We didn't want to affect your life with our own marriage..."

"I don't care! Can't you see I'm in love with Huey?! I will never hurt him with drama again just because of your stupid fights with mom! But you! YOU should have told me!"

Tom's eyes start watering "You're doing so well... and growing up so fast! I call you everyday and you always mention how you love your job and school! I didn't want to make you cry with our divorce!"

"Where's mom!?"

Tom feels like a weight is off his shoulders, he's been lying to Jazmine for so long "She lives in an apartment... she's doing okay. We're still friends."

Huey, Jazmine, and Tom go to the living room and they sit on opposite couches, with Tom in an armchair and the couple on the couch.

Jazmine crosses her arms and gives her dad an angry glare. "I hate you."

"I- I'm sorry."

"What else dad!? What else should I know about!?"

"N-nothing else sweetie... I- we miss you." Tom smiles shamefully, completely embarassed.

"Y-you're a liar! Why are you keeping secrets with me? Mom is out drinking and cheating on you! That's why she wanted to leave in the first place!"

Tom raises his voice. "She's not Jazmine! Don't talk to your mother that way! She's not sleeping with anybody!"

"How do I know you're not lying again?!"

"I'm not! Trust me Jazmine! Your mother and I talked!"

Jazmine huffs and gives a sigh. "Fine! But we're visiting mom and if I find out you're lying then say goodbye to your daughter forever!"

"Trust me Jazmine... you can visit her, she misses you too..." Tom says sincerely, making Jazmine calm down.

"Fine!" She glares at him.

Tom awkwardly asks. "H-how's school?"

Jazmine doesn't respond, while Huey just sits beside her silently. Tom glances at Huey and he sees a cold blank scowl in his eyes, it almost gave Tom goosebumps as it felt like Huey was judging his soul like it's the End Times.

She crosses her arms again and breaks eye contact with Tom as she looks to the side. "I... lied too."

Huey holds her hand as they share a sad smile. She looks at him with puppy eyes, trying to find strength in his maroon eyes.

Tom looks at the couple, slightly confused, bracing for what's about to happen. Jazmine opens her mouth. "We... umm... I lied too. Huey and I have been sleeping with each other..."

Tom almost faints. "I- I- wh- Ja-" His mind goes completely blank. The poor man just heard his daughter confess that she's been having sex with a boy right in front of his face.

Jazmine squeezes Huey's hand. "I... I'm sorry too." She says.

"Ja- I... ja- min- wh-" Tom's jaw drops.

"Dad..."

Tom collapses on the chair, he takes his hands and covers his face. "My life is falling apart Jazmine..." He breaks down crying.

"Dad?"

"I- I'm divorced! The house feels so empty! And my little girl! NO NO NO!" Tom is sobbing loudly. "NOOOOOO!"

Jazmine and Huey sit there, watching the man break down in tears.

Huey takes out a handkerchief, always being prepared, he lets Jazmine hand it to her dad.

"I- thank you sweetie..." Tom sniffs and blows his nose.

"Are you okay dad?" She asks, deeply concerned.

"I-I'm happy for your mother... but- I- I feel so lonely... our house used to be so full of life... filled with laughter... with a loving family... but I'm alone! You moved out! Your mother- left! I'm so lonely!" Tom continues crying, tears soaking his clothes.

"I-I'm so sorry dad..." Jazmine starts crying too, she definitely got her emotional side from her dad.

"I don't know how to move on! I- I miss you so much sweetie! I'm so lonely in this empty house! I want to move out! I'm sick of how quiet it is! But I can never leave! It's full of so many memories! Memories of happier times!"

"Dad... I- I don't know what to say..."

Huey remains silent, he gives her a look, silently asking permission if he should speak and give advice. Jazmine lightly shakes her head in refusal. She needs to do this on her own.

Jazmine takes a deep breath, gathering her strength, holding Huey's hand tighter. "Daddy... do you want to... talk about it? Let's spend some time together."

Tom sighs, wiping away his tears "I- I'm fine... sorry... I lost control of myself."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm happy, I just feel a little lonely, I miss being a family together. But I'm happy because my daughter is... my daughter is growing up."

She lets out a sigh of relief "Are you sure dad? You're happy?"

Tom says sincerely "Yes... I read you in the news everyday... how you do so much fundraising.. how you're building your career... everytime I call you, I can't help but feel so proud."

Jazmine's tears well up again "T-thank you..."

"I- I'm just lonely... I've been living in this house for 21 years with the woman I- I love. And we shared this house with our daughter for 18 years. I- it's taken some time for me to get used to living in an empty house. Frankly... I'lm not still used to it."

"I- I'm sorry dad." Jazmine says.

"It's not your fault sweetie..." He frowns.

"I'm sorry for lying... I- I really did sleep with Huey. I love him so so much. And I don't want to lie again dad... because I want to marry him one day! Not now, not tomorrow but in the future, I want to marry Huey one day... and I'll be lying to you if I don't say it!"

"Jazmine..." Tom stares at her and then to Huey. He sees his daughter edge closer to her boyfriend.

She continues "I- I want your blessing dad... you said that I need your blessing to live in his apartment... and I'm sorry I didn't ask you that. But I'm asking your blessing to marry him... because I- I love him and he makes me so so happy."

Tom wants to scream, he feels so helpless looking at the man who's having sex with his daughter. In the back of his mind he wants to kick Huey out of his house and have Jazmine grounded in her room.

But he sighs. "Jazmine... I-"

"Please don't ruin my life. D-don't say no.." She pleads with him.

"I won't ruin your life... I'm not going to tear you two apart because I'm suffering." He closes his eyes, overwhelmed with sorrow.

"Dad..."

"I- I support your relationship... I can't believe how fast my little girl is growing up..."

"T-thank you dad..."

Tom asks sternly "Does he treat you well?"

She softly smiles "He treats me like a princess..."

"Do you wear protection?"

"Every single time... and he always asks in case I forget my pill."

"Does he hit you? Have you had fights?"

"He'll never hurt me. And we sometimes have arguments but deep down we love each other so much."

Tom relents, he really doesn't want to do it, he just wants to curl up in a ball for a week but he swallows the lump in his throat and sighs "Y-you have my blessing."

He loves his daughter, and if she's happy then that's all he really needs for his own happiness.

"Thank you dad! I- I love you."

Tom stutters "I love you too sweetie. C-can I have a word with Huey? In private?"

"Okay..."

Jazmine walks up the stairs to her old bedroom as she gives the two men privacy. She already has most of her stuff in boxes. Most of her room is empty in fact, with a bed, a chair and table, and a big stack of boxes in the corner. The only thing that really hinted a trace of her are the small little stickers that she put on her wall when she was a kid, which appears to be too difficult to remove.

She looks through our boxes and rummages her belongings, looking back in past memories. Her pictures, her old diaries, and all the little objects that has sentimental values. She smiles at all the little memories as she looks back on her childhood.

She decides to let her dad keep these things, because even though she can't stay in Woodcrest and leave Huey, she doesn't want to leave him alone without these memories. She doesn't want to selfishly take everything and leave him alone in an empty, deserted house, she wants to at the very least leave with memories of her, so that her dad can look back at happier times and cherish the moments when she was a little girl and when they were one big happy family.

She's just going to take the rest of her clothes and shoes though. And her favorite teddy bear.

After some time, Huey knocks on her door and she greets him with a smile. Looking at how the young boy across the street turned into the man of her dreams.

He speaks "Got all your stuff ready?"

"Yes... I'm just about ready to leave."

"Alright." He nods.

"What did my dad say to you?"

"Nothing you don't already know." He states.

"Meaning?"

"He asked if I love you and if I'm going to provide for you. I told him that I promise to protect you and how I promise to never leave you. Regular man-to-man talk."

She hugs him "He's okay with it? He supports you?"

"Yeah... he even called me son-ln-law again."

She blushes "That means he likes you."

"I think so."

She puts her head on his chest "I'll just say goodbye to my dad... can you put my stuff in the car sweetie?"

"Alright."

Huey volunteers to drive this time, which she relents to. Jazmine is a little emotional at the moment, she's happy that she got her own closure and that she finally get some sort of peace agreement with her dad. But at the same time she feels sad for her dad knowing the things that he's going through. Nonetheless he assured her that as long as she's happy then he's never going to be miserable.

She just hopes that her dad can find something that can make him happy, to make the best of his time without mom. It really just shows to Jazmine that even if you have a nice house and a respectable job, it doesn't fully ensure that you stay happy in life.

Huey drives, with the back of their SUV full of boxes and Jazmine's clothes. With him getting a visiting Granddad and her getting a little bit of closure with her dad he really just wants to rest and lie down. But they still have one destination left to go.

"Is this your mom's place?" He asks.

"Yes." Tom had told her the address before they left.

They arrive at a small house, still in Woodcrest. It is one of those rental houses that's divided into two units and rented out to residents. They walk up to the door and Jazmine rings the doorbell.

Ding Ding the doorbell rings. A different tune than her old house's doorbell.

"Jazmine? Huey?" The door opens to reveal Sarah.

"Mom." She blankly says.

"Why are you in Woodcrest? H-how are you? Come in!"

Sarah invites them inside and leads them to sit in the living room. Sarah's home looks more tidy and more homely compared to Tom's, it looks particularly clean and organized.

She asks her daughter. "How are you sweetie?"

"I'm fine mom. I spoke to dad."

"Oh." Sarah bites her lip nervously.

"He said you were already divorced..."

"It's true, we're divorced... we're lawyers Jazmine, we pushed our request and got the paperwork done in a week."

"Why didn't you tell me mom?"

"Because we didn't want to hurt you!"

"I already said I support whatever you choose! I'm just mad that you lied to me!"

"I- I'm sorry Jazmine. You're doing so good in your studies.. we're so proud at what you and Huey are doing. We just didn't want you to get more stressed..." Sarah confesses, feeling terrible and full of guilt.

Jazmine sighs "Are you cheating with dad? Did you leave him for another man?"

"I- I-" Sarah stutters, she hesitates when she sees Huey stare daggers at her.

"Mom..." Jazmine glares at her.

"No. I haven't been to the nightclub... I haven't met anyone in over a month, I've been sober too..."

"Are you lying mom?" Jazmine grumbles.

"I'm not Jazmine. I'm honest."

"Huey can tell if you're lying." She gestures to him.

"I'm not. Trust me Jazmine..." Sarah looks sincerely.

She sighs. "Why... why did you get a divorce? I at least have the right to know."

"We jus- we just need some time apart Jazmine. Your father is a wonderful man and he still holds a special place in my heart. But we need to just figure out how to live our lives alone. We're still friends and maybe someday we can reconsider our marriage but we can't... we can't continue living in such a toxic relationship... I hurt your father Jazmine, I really did and I have mistakes that I need to correct in my past."

Jazmine starts crying. "He- he's lonely..."

"I- He is? He didn't tell me." Sarah frowns.

"Mom... I- I understand... but please don't leave dad in the dark. Even if you need some time apart you can't just abandon him. I beg you to visit him every now and then..."

"I- I will Jazmine... we're still best friends, I-I'll go talk to him okay? I never left him for another man, that's such a horrible selfish thing to do and I'm sorry I let you think so lowly of your mother. I- I promise to be better to you... to Tom." Sarah starts crying as well.

"Th- thank you mom."

"Y-you're welcome sweetie... C-can I get you two something to eat or drink? I'm so happy you came to visit..."

Being the ever-loving mother she is, Sarah prepares tea for Jazmine and Huey. After some time, they all sit down and the two women discuss Jazmine's time in DC.

"I saw you on the newspaper last week. You looked so pretty in the pictures!" Sarah exclaims.

"Thanks mom."

"How much did you fundraise?"

Jazmine replies "13 thousand dollars! And most of the proceeds are going to the local animal shelters and adoption centers!"

"Awww I'm so proud!" Sarah smiles. "How are you and Huey doing? Has he been good to you?" Sarah eyes the couple on the couple teasingly.

"Of course! I love him!" Huey sips his tea silently while Jazmine hugs his free arm.

"Awww that's so sweet. I'm happy with your relationship."

"Oh. Umm mom. I want to tell you something."

"Really? What is it sweetie?" She smiles.

"Huey and I... have been sleeping together."

"Sleeping in the same room?" Sarah lifts an eyebrow.

"No... we're doing it... in bed."

Sarah nervously smiles, almost blushing "Well... umm... I guess it was bound to happen sometime..."

"You're not mad?" Jazmine gasps in surprise.

"As long as you're happy and okay with it... did your father get mad?"

"Yes! I thought he was going to faint!" Huey awkwardly sips his tea again, trying not to participate in the conversation.

Sarah laughs "I should've been there!"

"But he's okay with it... you know how protective he is and all."

"That's good then. I fully support you two as well, you made a good choice with Huey." Sarah smiles.

"Thank you."

"Does he treat you well?" Sarah asks.

"Like a princess." Jazmine repeats those words again, blushing.

After waving goodbyes, Jazmine and Huey get in the car, with Huey again in the driver seat.

"Huey... thanks for being with me... I know it was hard on you too, I don't like describing you as the man who's having sex with me... you're more than that to me."

"It's fine Jazmine, I'm just glad you settled things with your parents."

She frowns. "Yeah... I'm still a little sad... but I'm glad they're working things out, finally."

"That's good." Huey replies, he's started the car and they've started driving off.

"Huey... will we get a divorce?"

He sighs, trying to stay focused on the road. "Why are you asking?"

"I'm just worried that we'll end up like my parents one day. I don't want that to happen." She has a deeper frown.

"The 50% divorce rate is just an urban myth Jazmine."

She starts crying. "Huey... I'm asking if we're gonna get a divorce, not a fact. Answer my question."

Huey frowns as well. "Let me show you what I think."

Huey drives for sometime, the car is completely silent as they retreat back to their thoughts. She wipes her tears away and she instantly regrets ever asking the question.

"Where are you taking me Huey?"

"It's a surprise." He says bluntly.

Soon enough the streets become familiar, she even passes by her dad's house again. She pass familiar trees, familiar houses, and then a road that she knows all too well. Huey parks the car and gets out first.

Jazmine tries to get out but it seems that Huey locked the car doors.

"Huey?"

She watches him walk around the car and he opens Jazmine's door. He holds out his hand like a gentleman. She giggles and takes his hand, stepping out of the car.

They walk through a familiar dirt path, through a familiar clearing in the suburbs, and then spot a familiar-looking hill. They walk up the hill together, holding hands. Jazmine feels like she's in heaven right now, this is exactly how she pictured it.

They walk up to the oak tree on top of the hill, it looks beautiful as ever, especially in the Autumn wind. They sit together, leaning their backs against the tree as they gaze into the clouds. This is the place when she was 10 and they reunited from his trip to Chicago, where they became best friends, this is the place when she was 13 and started getting feelings for him, this is the place when she was 17 and they made their promises to love each other under a starry night,

Jazmine finally understands what Huey is trying to tell her. Her parents never had a hill. They never had a connection like the one she has with Huey. She fully knows that Huey Freeman is her soulmate and that there is without a doubt in her mind that she'll spend the rest of eternity with the man she loves.

"We'll never get a divorce." She whispers.

"Agreed. What we have... is different." Huey says, trying not to say anything mean about her parents.

"My parents don't love each other like we do. And I'm okay with that. You'll never hurt me, you'll never yell at me, you'll never do anything to make me sad. I'm so lucky that I found my soulmate, I won't let anything tear us apart."

Huey kisses her cheek and puts his arms around her "I've made my promises to your parents. I won't let them down."

"Yes. You're family now." She smiles.

"Are you thinking of Huey Dubois?"

"Hmm... I was maybe thinking of Jazmine Freeman."

"Maybe one day." He suggests.

"One day." She blushes.

He sighs. "I hope you're... happy now... I really want to go home and rest. Parent stuff is giving me a headache."

She laughs. "Okay sweetie... but 10 more minutes, we haven't been here for months! I really miss it."

"Alright."

"Kiss me." She requests.

Huey leans in and they passionately kiss under the cover of their oak tree.

Back in their apartment.

...

...

...

"Jazmine. How much clothes did you bring?"

She laughs "A lot!"

"All 6 boxes are just clothes."

"I said a lot!"

He sighs. "We'll put all your dresses and shoes at my home office then... or else our bedroom is gonna look like a clothing store."

"You'll let me use your home office as a closet? Thank you!"

"It's your home office too.. but under one condition."

"What?" She giggles. "You just said it's my office too! I can put anything I want in it."

"Let me rephrase. I have one request."

"Okay what is it?"

"You pick out anything you hate and we donate your clothes to charity."

She speaks childishly "Gasp- You wouldn't!"

He smirks in response.

She giggles "Fine! You're diabolical!"

"I know."

She walks to him and gives him a kiss on the cheek "Dummy."

"Or we can sleep and do it tomorrow." He says.

Jazmine remembers how her parents fully support her relationship now. Nothing and no one is holding her back from making love to Huey.

She takes off her jacket and unzips her dress. She gives orders to Huey "Close the windows, let's go to sleep."

Huey walks at a nomal pace, almost teasing Jazmine, as he double checks all the locks, the lights, and their windows.

"Hurry up." She feels so horny for Huey, seeing him take his time on purpose is unbearable as she realizes how dripping wet she is.

She takes off her dress and it drops to the floor, she's down to her bra and panties.

Huey walks up to her "All done."

"Take me sweetie. I'm yours."

He carries her to their bedroom where they end their day in passionate love making, she screams his name while he rearranges her guts, and after a half hour of thrusts and moans they end with a crescendo of matching orgasms.

Jazmine's parents got some sort of justice. I've been neglecting my homeboy Tom but now his story arc is headed on the right direction. Sarah also got her redemption and I would hate it if I got lazy and just write her as a cheating wife. So I'm happy to give her character a little more depth.

Also I want to point out because I'm really proud with my writing this chapter:

I wrote Sarah to be more carefree and Tom to be more emotional. And It shows in Jazmine that she got those two traits from her parents.

You can tell with how they reacted to Jazmine and Huey having sex which I'm really proud of because I managed to pull off incorporating smut and lemon into character development.

Juey: Poured my heart and soul into Chapter 13. I wanted to give a character death like Granddad a proper sendoff and made his death turn into a ripple effect towards everyone. Thanks for the support!

Naturalgal29: love how you describe everything. I'm just praciting with fanfics because I want to get back into writing as a hobby and job but I assure you I'm writing for fun. I don't care if 1 or 2 or 100 people are reading and as long as I'm having fun I'll keep writing. Not to worry you though, writing casual aged up Huey and Jazmine saga like this is hella fun and there's no signs of stopping.
