Jainathin winced. His leg was weak, and his stomach hurt thinking about his past...
He opened the door. Standing there in the middle of the rainstorm was a sodden bum in a black traveling cloak.
As he lowered his hood to speak, Jainathin tried not to stare. The stranger's face was disgustingly deformed.
Scars and burns covered his otherwise dull features.
"You don't recognize me, do you, Jainathin?" the stranger asked, and now Jain did know who he was. His deep
voice gave him away.
"Howard...where have you been all these years.
"Shut up. You betrayed me, Jain, and you know it. Why didn't you procure the weapon for me? You said you
would...He's cast me out now. I am as close to lifeless as possible...Thanks to you,"Howard said in crescendo.
"I don't know what you mean, Howard. Please indulge me with more. My memory is fading, I'm afraid,"Jain said,
his clean shaven face twitching with a false smile.
