Nothing truly event will happen for the rest of the day and before Lincoln knew what was happening it was already time for the family to head to Gus's games and grubs for his birthday party. Lincoln kept Scorbunny a secret from his family all day as he did not want anything to happen to his new friend, especially from Lola and Lisa.

Lola because she would probably try to take Scorbunny away from him...

And Lisa would probably try to experiment on the poor rabbit Pokemon...

"Make a wish buddy."said Clyde McBride, as Lincoln was brought back to reality and remember that he was currently standing in front of his birthday cake with twelve lit birthday candles.

"Oh, yeah...Ahhh..."said Lincoln before taking a deep breath and blowing out all his candles.

"Happy birthday, Lincoln!"shouted everyone in attendance as the final candle went out.

"Yeah, cake!"said Rusty as everyone began getting a piece of cake.

"This has been one of the best birthdays of my life."said Lincoln honestly with a smile, as he looked at his pocket where his little friend was still kept in his pokeball

"Don't worry, Scorbunny. I'll sneak you some cake right now.' whispered Lincoln to Scorbunny, making the Pokeball shake as if the Pokemon could understand that it was soon going to get a sweet treat.

"Well that was an exciting birthday, Lincoln."said Leonard as he was driving Lincoln back to the Loud House in his truck.

"Thanks Gramps. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed hanging out with my friends and family."said Lincoln with a smile.

"Something on your mind, champ."said Leonard, causing Lincoln to flinch.

"No...No...No... It's nothing..."said Lincoln, as Leonard just smiled as they reached a red light.

"Does this have something to do with the Pokemon that's in your pocket?"asked Leonard, shocking Lincoln as he turned to face his grandfather.

"Gramps...are you?"said Lincoln who didn't finish his sentence.

"Yes, Lincoln. I am the one who left that Pokemon egg for you to find, along with that PokeBall. I left that Scorbunny egg next to that tree knowing that you would find it so that you could become a Pokemon trainer, officially."said Leonard as he pulled out something from a nearby bag.

Lincoln look to see you and saw it with some kind of phone that had a strange slightly electric themed phone case.

"Say hello to your Rotom phone."said lettered as the phone began floating in mid-air, surprising Lincoln as he fell back in his chair.

"Don't freak out, it won't hurt you."said Leonard as the Rotom phone approach Lincoln and soon laid itself on his lap.

"So, not only did you give me Scorbunny, but you're also giving me a phone?"inquired Lincoln, wondering what his grandfather from his father's side was up to.

"Close. I'm also giving you this so that you're officially a Pokemon trainer."said Leonard as he handed Lincoln what looked to be a license with his name and photo on it.

"Gramps, what is going on?"asked Lincoln, wondering what his grandfather was up to.

"About ten years ago Lincoln my ship suffered some damage near the coast of Japan and I was almost killed by the raging Waves of the Japanese sea! It was there that I discovered there's an island not too far off of Japan that is called Kanto. There I meet the man who jumped into the ocean and saved my life. His name is Professor Samuel Oak, and he's a researcher into the mysterious creatures known as Pokemon, such as your Scorbunny."clarified Leonard as he explained as best he could.

"And what exactly is a Pokemon, Gramps?"wondered Lincoln, hoping that his grandfather would be able to explain this.

"Pokemon, or pocket monsters if you want to get technical or basically animals with the ability to harness the powers of nature. They can shoot electricity, free fire, create small walls of Rock, heck, they can even create small earthquakes. But despite what some will believe, Pokemon are quite gentle creatures except for their love of battle. In Kanto and in other places known as Pokemon regions, humans and pokémon live side by side one another in almost perfect harmony. And a long time ago in a land called Hisui, it was discovered that one can capture and train Pokemon, and those are called pokémon trainers. Basically people who train Pokemon for the purpose of battle."said Leonard, as Lincoln looked at his grandfather's suspiciously.

"Wouldn't something like that normally be illegal?"asked Lincoln, as that sounded a lot like dog fighting in his opinion.

"Hahahahahaah! If I had a dollar for every time I was asked that. The short answer is no. You see, Lincoln, like I just explained earlier, Pokemon love to battle one another for the purpose of getting stronger! They regularly fight each other in the wild but not for things like territory and food and things like that, most of- well sometimes. Anyway the main reason they battle is to get stronger, it's been like that since they're great ancestor Mew."said Leonard, as Lincoln was sort of understanding what his grandfather was trying to say.

"A long time ago Pokemon discovered that if they join up with a Pokemon trainer, that process of getting stronger happens at a much faster rate. The strongest Pokemon belong to Pokemon trainers, so Pokemon will regularly attack Pokemon trainers to see if they are worthy of capturing them and training them for battle. So when I'm trying to say is that the pokémon are the ones in charge, and they will leave if a Pokemon trainer becomes abusive."said Leonard, as Lincoln nodded his head.

"I guess if the Pokemon are okay with it then I don't have any problem with it."said Lincoln, as although he still had many questions about the system, as long as the creatures in question weren't really getting seriously hurt then he had no problem.

"Anyway back to my talk about Samuel. He nurses me back to help and eventually helps me get back home. So the other day he tells me about this pokémon egg he got from the Galar Region, and he needs some kind of Pokemon trainer to raise the Pokemon inside. One thing led to another in your name came up. I said your birthday was coming up but yet I didn't know what to give you as a birthday present. So Samuel sends me the pokémon egg and a Pokeball for you to capture the Pokemon inside with it and next thing you know he sends me the license you need to become a Pokemon trainer."said Leonard, as it didn't take a genius to figure out what he was implying.

"So this Professor Oak wants me to become a Pokemon trainer?"said Lincoln, basically inquiring that that was the whole point of his grandfather's long explanation.

"Yeah! Professor Oak knows how capable you are as a young man thanks to the many stories I tell him when we're on the phone and he told me you would be perfect to raise that Scorbunny. He also told me about the Indigo League going on and how a bunch of trainers from all around Kanto were getting ready for the big competition, so I decided to sign your name up for the Indigo League."said Leonard, as Lincoln can believe his Gramps signed him up without asking him first.

"Gramps, how could you do that without my permission?"asked Lincoln, wondering what his grandfather was thinking.

"Oh, like you're going to say no at this point as I can tell you're pretty ding dang excited about the whole Pokemon trainer thing."said Leonard, as he knows Lincoln's leg has been shaking with excitement the whole time he's been explaining everything about his relationship with Professor Oak and Pokemon.

"Well... you got me there. But how am I going to convince mom and dad to let me go to an island off the coast of Japan? That is so far away from home and dad is still not over the fact that Lori is going to college just an hour away."said Lincoln, knowing that his parents weren't comfortable with letting him leave the nest so early.

"I already talked to your parents and they have agreed to let you go."said Leonard, shocking Lincoln as he wondered when he did that.

"How?"asked Lincoln, wondering when his Gramps managed to do that.

"Remember when you were so busy with your friends that mean your parents were left alone for a about a couple of minutes. Well I talked to them about letting you accompany me on my next expedition to the Japanese sea. I'm going to be honest with you Lincoln and I didn't tell him about the whole Pokemon thing as they probably wouldn't have let you go if I did."said Leonard, knowing how overprotective his son and daughter-in-law can be.

"Well I wouldn't blame them..."said Lincoln, as his grandfather had just lied to his parents, well more like withholding the truth, and sort of lying.

"Lincoln, you mean to tell me after hearing all of this you don't want to go and become a Pokemon trainer?"asked Leonard, as Lincoln paused for a minute before going silent.

"Okay, yeah! After telling me everything right now I can't stop shaking with excitement. I'm happy that you gave me Scorbunny! I'm happy you showed up for my birthday despite you having a busy schedule! I'm happy about all of this and I honestly do want to try out this Pokemon trainer thing as it sounds super awesome! I mean I'm twelve! What twelve year old wouldn't want to try this! But it feels weird leaving home for the first time and venturing off on my own."said Lincoln, causing his grandfather to look at him as they stopped at another red light.

"What do you mean?"asked Leonard.

"Gramps, I told myself when I turned twelve that this was going to be the year of Lincoln. I told myself that I was going to try to make my mark and show everyone that I'm just as worthy of praise like my sisters get every day from people/fans. Lori is good at golf, Leni has her fashion skills, Luna will one day be one of the greatest musicians of all time, Luan will be a famous comedian, Lynn will probably be the greatest athlete of our generation, Lucy has her poetry and mortician thing, Lana has her mechanical skills, Lola can walk the walk and talk the talk, Lisa is one of the greatest geniuses of all time, and even Lily is starting to show talent with finger painting. But then there is Lincoln, the brother of those talented sisters. I cannot tell you how much that is annoyed me being compared to them man how I only have one trophy in the family trophy cabinet and my sisters have dozens! I want something I can do! But I've tried everything! I tried running the local Marathon but I ended up coming in last place after everyone left... I tried karate and end up having to go to the hospital after breaking my hand while hitting up board"said Lincoln, wanting to show everyone that this was the year of Lincoln.

"Then why not go with me and become a Pokemon trainer. I'm sure you will enjoy it Lincoln as you are a smart kid and the man with the plan. I believe wholeheartedly that you can become a Pokemon trainer and that's why I got you that Scorbunny in the first place by agreeing to take it in from Samuel. I know you have what it takes to become a Pokemon trainer Lincoln, I believe in you."said Leonard honestly, knowing that Lincoln will probably be the next greatest Pokemon trainer, possibly even a Pokemon Master!

"You really believe that?"asked Lincoln, getting a nod from his grandfather.

"Thanks Gramps. I really needed to hear that. Well since Mom and Dad already agreed I guess I have no choice but to go with you to the Japanese sea and become a Pokemon trainer!"said Lincoln, as Scorbunny popped out of his pokeball.

"Scor!"said the rabbit Pokemon as he gave a thumbs up.

"I see you're excited about going on on adventure as well, my new friend."said Lincoln with a smile, as he can already imagine all the adventures he can have with the rabbit Pokemon and whatever other Pokemon he can capture and train in Kanto.

"Well... I'm going to be honest with you Lincoln and say that we're not going home tonight as I already packed you a bag of things you will need and, along with some essential items as I had a feeling it would not be easy to leave with your sisters probably wanting to stop you from going so far away from home."said Leonard as he revealed that behind his seat was a duffel bag full of clothes and other essential items Lincoln will need on his journey.

"Wow, you got me new clothes. Wait? Are you saying we leave tonight?"asked Lincoln, quickly realizing what his grandfather was saying.

"Lincoln, Japan is really far from here and in order to get over there in time for the Indigo League we have to leave tonight... I may have forgot to mention that to officially sign up for the competition you really need to meet up with Professor Oak, a Pokemon League official in Pallet Town. It can be any League official but I trust professor Oak and that's where we're going to him as soon as possible before time runs out. I'm sorry to spring this on you but your grandfather ain't the spring chicken he used to be and sometimes forgets to do important things."apologized Leonard as they began driving to the Royal Woods airport.

"No problem, Gramps. I know it gets difficult as you get older. Now normally I would want to say goodbye to my friends and family but in this case we literally don't have the time for any of that! So put the paddle to the metal as legally as you can, Gramps! Because we need to get to this Kanto place before time runs out."said Lincoln, as Leonard began driving as fast as he legally could to the Royal Woods airport

Knowing that they had to make it to the Japanese sea as fast as they could if they wanted to get Lincoln signed up for the Indigo League!

"Man, I really need to get my priorities straight in the future."said Leonard as he drove his vehicle in the direction of the Royal Woods airport

[Now that Lincoln has been caught up to speed about Pokemon, the man with the plan now officially begins his journey to the Kanto region to sign up for the Indigo League on time! Will Lincoln be able to make it to Kanto before time runs out? Only time will tell as the journey continues]
