[Royal Woods: Royal Woods airport]
Leonard Loud's pickup truck quickly pulled into the parking lot of the airport as Lincoln began packing up everything he needed in order to get ready for his Pokemon journey to Kanto. To say but the young loud was not prepared was an understatement as a lot of things were happening at once and he had very little time to process it, even though he is the man with the plan.
"Normally my sisters would send me off, or at the very least some of them would not want me to go but I don't have time for that. Need to get ready to become a Pokemon trainer off the coast of Japan."said Lincoln to himself as he began shifting through the duffel bag.
Sure enough it had everything one would need on a trip including extra sets of clothes, underwear, toiletries, food, and some strange device that look like it was one of those cubes from a sci-fi movie.
" Hey Gramps, what is this thing?"asked Lincoln as he picked up the device.
"Oh that is a special device that Professor Oak invented that allows you to carry more stuff than you would normally be able to by sending it to some kind of pocket dimension."responded Leonard, as Lincoln began wondering if this Professor Oak was as smart or if not smarter than Lisa.
"So basically this is a huge storage space on the go."said Lincoln, summing up with his grandfather just said.
"In layman's terms, yes."replied Leonard as he finally found a parking spot in the huge parking lot.
"Man, I'm so excited and nervous at the same time it feels like at any moment I'm going to pee my pants."said Lincoln, as he wasn't sure what to do as this was such a big decision and he felt like he was kind of being forced into it despite how much he wanted to do it.
"That is understandable as this is your first time you're leaving home without any of your siblings accompanying you. I know how it feels as that's what I felt when I first met Professor Oak in Kanto. It's a brand new world that you just can't wait to see but at the same time it's different from your Norm so it's scary at the same time."said Leonard, remembering how freaked out he was when he met his first Pokemon.
He was nearly electrocuted...oh, those were the days...he thought fondly.
"Well Scorbunny and I are ready to take on whatever the Pokemon world has to throw at us! So what exactly does it have to throw with us?"aske Lincoln, wondering what the Pokemon world had to offer him.
"Well in the nearby future the Indigo League is about to begin!"said Leonard with a smile, as he and Lincoln got out of the pickup truck.
"The Indigo League?"asked Lincoln.
"It's basically a competition where the strongest trainers in all of Kanto battle it out for a chance of a lifetime as not only is there a huge monetary prize and a very big trophy, but this year the winner has a chance to take on the mysterious champion."said Leonard, getting Lincoln's undivided attention.
"Champion?"asked Lincoln with excitement.
"No one knows for sure who the champion is as he or she is very private and prefers not to be in the limelight. Anyway this year was announced through the Pokemon League that the champion will give this year's Indigo League winner a chance to battle it out for the title, meaning if you manage to defeat the champion you become the new champion."said Leonard with excitement as he knew for a fact his grandson would love for that to happen.
"So basically it's a shot for the title! I like the sound of that."said Lincoln as he felt like his blood was boiling with excitement upon hearing that the champion is willing to battle out this year's Indigo League winner!
Lincoln could already imagine himself standing on a podium with everyone he knew cheering his name as he was holding a huge trophy, with Scorbunny and whatever other Pokemon he uses for the competition standing by his side.
"I see you're very excited."said Leonard, not surprised that Lincoln appeared to be excited as who wouldn't be?
"So how do you qualify for the Indigo League?"asked Lincoln as he and his grandfather entered the airport terminal.
"You have to challenge these facilities known as Pokemon gyms and defeat the strongest trainer of that facility, known as the gym leader. By defeating the gym leader they'll give you something called a badge to show that you defeated them. Earn eight Gym badges and you can qualify for the Indigo League."said Leonard with a smile as they began looking around for Professor Oak.
"So cool! I can't wait to try this thing out for myself."said Lincoln, before a look of disappointment appeared on his face.
"What's wrong, Lincoln?"asked Leonard, wondering what was wrong with his grandson.
"It's just that it's going to be so weird not having my family be there to have my back like they usually do. I mean, don't get me wrong it would be nice to be away from my sister's for a while but at the same time it feels like I'll really miss them."said Lincoln, as he couldn't really describe this feeling in his heart.
"That is completely understandable is that's how I felt the first day I went on a fishing expedition by myself. It can get lonely at times but don't forget that you won't be alone. Scorbunny is with you when that little guy will be with you at every step."said Leonard, reminding Lincoln that he wouldn't be going off on his own.
"Hahahaha, I guess I forgot about that, sorry Gramps, and sorry, Scorbunny."said Lincoln, as he forgot he wouldn't be by himself on his journey through the Kanto region.
He would have his beloved Pokemon by his side, every step of the way!
"I see you haven't changed a bit, you wild old fisherman."said an old man about Leonard's age, wearing a lab coat.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Professor Samuel Oak."said Leonard, as both men began laughing before they touched each other's shoulders and hugged.
"So this is the young man you have been telling me about. It's nice to meet you Lincoln, I'm Professor Samuel Oak and it will be a pleasure working with you."said Professor Oak as he shook Lincoln's hand.
"Thanks, Professor Oak. Scorbunny and I can't wait to get started in the Indigo League."said Lincoln, as he couldn't wait to get started in his journey through the Kanto region.
"You are certainly very patient for someone who appears like they're going to explode from excitement."said Professor Oak, noticing that Lincoln seem to be trembling with excitement.
"Well it's not every day that one gets to go on the journey of a lifetime and see what the world has to offer"said Lincoln, or in this case the Sea of Japan..
"I suppose you do have a point, young man. Why don't we head to the airplane so I can get you officially registered for the Indigo League."said Professor Oak as he pointed his thumb in a certain direction.
"I would very much appreciate that."said Lincoln, as he and Leonard began following Professor Oak through the airport terminal.
"So, is there anything you can tell me about any potential rivals I have to look out for?"asked Lincoln, wanting to know anything about the competition..
"Well, there is my grandson... now what was his name again?"asked Professor Oak with a used look on his face.
"Huh?"said Lincoln, as how does someone not know who their grandson is, or the very least their name.
"Now, Samuel, how many times do I have to tell you that joke is not funny."said Leonard jokingly.
"Oh, you're no fun my old friend. Anyway, to answer your question young loud my grandson's name is Gary and despite his... attitude problem he it's quite the Pokemon trainer, or at the very least he will be when he gets first Pokemon as he tends to take anything involving Pokemon seriously... not lately but he at one point did."said Professor Oak, as Lincoln made a mental note about the worried look Professor Oak seem to have on his face concerning his grandson.
"Anyone else?"asked Lincoln, as he felt like Gary wasn't the only competition.
"Well there's Gary's childhood friend Red. He is a young man a few words but he takes everything involving Pokemon quite seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be your greatest threat, Lincoln."said Professor Oak, as Lincoln really wanted to know what kind of person this Red guy was.
"Well, we're here at the airplane."said Professor Oak, as he led both Lincoln and Leonard to a private airship where there was a plane that was Pokeball themed waiting for them.
"Well, this is where we departing, my grandson."said Leonard as he took a step back.
"Your not coming with me, Gramps?"asked Lincoln, as he thought his grandfather was coming with him.
"No, no. I have to stay behind and explain everything to your sisters as I'm sure tomorrow morning they're going to wonder where you are and probably throw a huge fit, overwhelming your poor parents."said Leonard, as he knew his family better than anyone.
"...Good point."said Lincoln, as he knew his sisters would probably throw a huge fit if they find out he went to what was basically a vacation without them.
"Well, good luck Lincoln. I honestly hope by the time you get back here to Royal Woods that you come back with a huge trophy and the title of champion."said Leonard, as he knew a trophy would look good in Lincoln's part of the trophy case.
"Yeah! I'm going to win!"said Lincoln confidently, as he wasn't the man with the plan for nothing!
He was going to win and show everyone that he was a champion!
"Now, let us get into the plane, young Lincoln, and begin the paperwork necessary for you to officially be recognized as part of the Indigo League."said Professor Oak, as Lincoln followed him up the stairs that led to the airplane.
Leonard and Lincoln waved each other goodbye one last time before Leonard headed back into the airport. Lincoln on the other hand sat down next to Professor Oak who handed him a few pieces of paper he needed to sign. Once Lincoln signed them did Professor Oak carefully inspect each one before putting them on a paper clip.
"Well... with this paperwork you are now officially allowed to take part in the Indigo League."said Professor Oak with a smile.
"Yes!"shouted Lincoln, as Scorbunny popped out of his pokeball.
"Scor!"said the rabbit Pokemon, as he couldn't wait to get some battling on!
"I see someone is excited for some Pokemon battles."said Professor Oak with a smile.
"Yeah..."said Lincoln, who couldn't wait to show off Scorbu in Kanto!
[After finally making it to the Royal Woods airport, Lincoln has officially been recognized to take part in the Indigo League by Professor Oak. Now that Lincoln can legally take part in the indigo League, what well our young hero do when he first sets foot in Kanto? Only time will tell us the journey continues]
[To Be Continued]
Hey, everyone, I hope you like this rewritten chapter.
I decided to rewrite this chapter as I know a lot of you would think that Lana fits with this story, and she does, but the point of this story is for Lincoln to grow without his sister so I decided to remove her from going to Kanto.
Maybe at a later date she could go and join Lincoln but for right now Lincoln will journey through the Kanto region with nothing but his Pokemon by his side.
If any of you have any suggestions for Pokemon on his team, I when in mind hearing you out.
Anyway, I hope you like this edited chapter.
