Chapter 17 ~ Underwater
Luffy was still holding onto Marco's waist and shirt, because he still felt a little weak after the sea water soak he got, thanks to Aone. They were sitting on top of the sea king, enveloped in a large bubble that's enough for the both of them to sit comfortably. Aone swam really fast, the only thing keeping them on top of her was the rope harness Luffy had tied earlier.
"Are you sure this bubble won't burst yoi?" Marco asked sceptically.
"Hmm, probably not," the raven answered, grinning at him. Marco winced, he would really prefer not going to another swim.
"I'll remain in my hybrid form, just in case okay?" Luffy offered with a smile.
Marco sighed, "fine, just promise you won't leave me to die if this pops yoi," he joked.
Luffy frowned at him, "who do you think I am?" He said, lightly punching the blond's arm.
Marco chuckled a little, feeling a little bit more comfortable. They weren't really deep underwater, in fact, he could still see the sunlight reflected on the surface and some rays shining into the sea. It was really beautiful.
"So, where are we going yoi?"
"I don't know, until we see some pirates, or sailors, or slavers," he replied, "why'd you come? You know I would've gone back."
Marco hummed a little, "to keep an eye on you yoi."
"You said I could watch myself! Traitor!" Luffy pouted.
"I'm making sure you don't end up fighting against the whole World Government at the end of this yoi," he teased again, with a smirk.
"Hey, I'm not that bad!"
"Well, can't I spend a little alone time with my little lover yoi?" Marco smirked, "besides, I'm sure my family would be fine without me for a while."
Thatch sneezed while he was running away from his angry brothers, allowing them to catch up and slam onto him. "Ahhh! CURSE WHOEVER WAS TALKING ABOUT ME!" He screamed from under Ace, Vista, and Haruta.
"I'm going to burn your balls into ashes, Thatch!" Ace yelled, his face and body was covered in really weird looking doodles and dragons.
"What did you do to my room!? It's all PINK!" Vista yelled.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU INVITE ME!? Haruta yelled.
"HELP!" Thatch cried, "I was just bored! And why are you even attacking me HARUTAA!?"
"CAUSE I WANT TO!"
"Gurararara," oyaji laughed, raising his barrel to drink.
"OYAJI, STOP drinking!" The nurse beside him yelled, causing the old man to pout.
Thatch and the other three were now getting thrown at with random items, by the injured pirates on deck for bothering them.
"Hahahaha, Marco is barely gone for an hour and this is what happens," Sabo said, amused.
"I know right! I don't know how he takes care of all these idiots," Jozu groaned, banging his head on the side of oyaji's chair.
Marco shivered, "okay, maybe we should get back as soon as possible," he said.
"Oh, you're such a mother hen," Luffy teased, bumping the blond's shoulder with his own.
"Where'd you learn that yoi?" Marco asked with a tic on his forehead.
"I might've heard it from," the raven made a thinking pose, "almost everyone on your crew! Shishishi. They always refer to you as a mother hen."
Marco groaned, grabbing the raven's face to kiss him. Luffy, seeing no reason to not kiss him, reciprocated instantly.
They parted for a bit to catch their breath and Luffy giggled a little. "So this is why you came huh?!" He asked, smiling attractively.
"Maybe yoi," the blond replied, breathlessly.
"Not complaining," Luffy whispered close to his face, before kissing him again.
As if sensing the mood, Aone slowed down and swam at the calmer pace as she searched for her prey. On the other hand, her passengers were getting busy with each other.
Luffy leaned further into the blond, who was slightly taller than him even when seated. Without breaking their lips away from each other, Luffy moved until he's sitting on Marco's lap, legs encircling the man's waist. The blond automatically wrapped his arm around Luffy's smaller waist while the other held onto his hip
Marco, feeling greedy, bit the raven's lips eliciting a moan as he pushed his tongue into the raven's mouth. Their mouths locked onto each other like a puzzle, while their tongues tasted each other. Luffy nibbled the blond's tongue lightly while pushing back with his own.
Luffy hooked the rope he's holding, into his arms while he hung on the blond's neck. Marco, on the other hand, had moved his hands to grab onto the raven's round ass, causing him to moan with surprise. Marco stopped for a bit to see what he made. Letting himself out of the other's mouth, Luffy's tongue still followed his, producing a saliva trail between them.
The raven was flushed, right up to the ear, his eyes glazed and unfocused. Panting with a trail of drool, and occasionally releasing a soft whine. This is a bad idea, but Marco couldn't help himself, and went back to occupying the raven's lips.
This time he kept his eyes open and watched as he sucked and bit on those pink lips. Moving his hands up from those round asses and began lifting his shirt to feel rough scarred skin on his waist and hips. Luffy, on the other hand, had one hand on the blond's tattooed chest, nail digging into the skin. Slowly moving down to his pants.
It didn't take long for Luffy to begin incessantly tugging at his sash while he busied himself with loosening the raven's holster belt.
Once the sash was off, Luffy tangled it on his free arm, continuing to undo his pants. At the same time, Marco had managed to loosen the raven's belt, making sure it was still stuck and won't be lost completely.
"Haa…this is..ha…a bad idea yoi," Marco whispered breathlessly through random short kisses. Although he said that, his hand wasn't slowing down from his task of undoing Luffy's shorts anyway.
"Mm…hm," Luffy agreed distractedly. The rational part of him agreed, while the other just wants to push the blond down and shut him up. But it would be too late to turn back once he managed to undo Marco's shorts.
They both succeeded to reveal each other's really aroused and erect cock. Marco pulled the raven closer, allowing their arousal to brush against each other. Sensitive as it is, he could feel Luffy shiver at the contact.
Luffy looked at both their dicks before turning up to look at Marco, "you're…huge," he mumbled, breathily.
Marco chuckled at the forward statement, "and you're cute yoi," he said before engaging in another kiss. Luffy complained with a weak whine but nothing further.
The blond took Luffy's smaller hand in his and wrapped it around both their hard members, causing Luffy to moan, surprised at the sudden pressure.
"We better…finish this fast yoi," Marco said.
"Ye- Ah!" Luffy's reply came out as a moan, as Marco moved their hands.
The sensation of skin on skin contact between their hard erection and the hand jerking on both of it, gave both of them shivers and a pleasurable feeling.
Marco groaned, feeling his arousal grow with every moan and gasps Luffy was slipping past that tasty mouth. He could feel Luffy moving his hand on his own, while the other dug into his nape.
"Ma- Ah- rco~ Ah!" Luffy gasped.
Hearing his name moaned deliciously by the raven only turned him on even more. Quickly, he gripped onto Luffy's hand and increased the pace into a faster one.
Their moans and groans got louder, only for them to hear, muffled by the ocean water surrounding them. His other hand pulled on his little lover's nape to give him another searing kiss, muffling the moans.
Marco hissed, "I'm…cumming yoi," he groaned.
"Ah, hah…me too- AHHh~" Luffy moaned, arching his back and throwing his head back, toes curling at the climax.
They both release their load onto their hands and clothing, or chest for Marco's case. Marco groaned, biting and sucking on the raven's exposed neck, bandages pulled off at some point. Leaving bite marks and hickeys on his tan and scarred skin.
Luffy calmed down and leaned on Marco's shoulder, catching his breath, and melting. Letting his arms lie lax until he felt the blond's larger hand take his.
Luffy sat up, confused for a while, and stared as Marco took his hand into his mouth and licked it clean. The raven blushed, turning red from the display.
"O-oi," he said, pulling his hands away from the blond.
Marco chuckled, "oh~ so little Luffy can get flustered too huh? How cute yoi."
Luffy pouted, "anyone would be, if you do that," he said, resting their foreheads against each other.
Luffy stuck his hand out the sea for a while, cleaning it in the ocean. The raven smiled, laughter bubbling in his chest, his shoulders begun shaking.
Marco couldn't help smiling, and by the time Luffy was laughing, he was also chuckling.
"What did we do yoi? It's a mess," he said through chuckles.
"I don't know, shishishi," Luffy replied, trying to stop laughing, "we better clean up before Aone surfaces, and get caught," he giggled again.
"That would be a huge scandal yoi," he said, amused.
"Marco the Phoenix, caught doing an indecent act on a sea king with the recently resurfaced assassin!" Luffy laughed while he pretended to make a banner with his hands.
Marco snorted, "that would be…interesting yoi."
"Fun!"
"For you yoi, I'll get hunted by Hawkeye, Ace and Sabo, Dragon, and your crazy grandpa," he shuddered. Seriously, this raven has extremely dangerous people who would kill him if they knew he touched the teen.
Luffy didn't know what to say to that besides humming, it's not like he knew them. Nor did they have the right to harm Marco, besides Hawkeye and maybe his brothers. They both began cleaning themselves, reattaching their holster and sash. The blond helped re-wrap the bandages around Luffy's neck, then they removed any traces of whatever activity they did.
"The air's starting to get kind of thin, isn't it?" Luffy asked, gasping lightly.
"I think so yoi."
"Let's just resurface now," the raven said and tugged on the rope he was holding. Aone surfaced and the bubble popped. "Still no luck girl?" Luffy asked, petting the sea king where he sat.
The sea king responded with a low guttural hum, and sped up with his head above the surface
They sat peacefully, feeling the sea breeze blowing against their faces. Luffy leaned on the blond's chest, who was sitting behind him. Marco was holding the raven's waist tightly against him, while the other was drawing invisible doodles on his hands.
Luffy was about to fall asleep when Marco's voice broke the silence. "Luffy yoi?"
"Hmm?" He replied sleepily, yawning.
"Who's Kir?" Marco asked.
He felt Luffy stiffen in his arms as his breath hitched. For a while, Marco thought he wouldn't say a thing, and he would let it go, if the raven didn't want to tell him. But then Luffy took a deep breath, and sighed heavily before relaxing in his arms again. Marco tightened his hold, trying to give the raven some sort of support and encouragement.
"Where'd you hear that from?" Luffy asked softly, leaning deeper into him.
"You were sleeptalking yoi," he responded, brushing the raven's hair. Burying his face into the raven locks, which smelt like shampoo and sea breeze.
Luffy hummed, and sighed deeply again, "it's Kira, not Kir, he was-" the raven gulped, "my little brother."
Marco was surprised, he didn't expect that. I mean Ace and Sabo only had Luffy as their little brother so how did Luffy get another little brother. Luffy somehow read his mind and chuckled a little, his body shaking.
"He's not related to Ace or Sabo, he was born in Mariejois," Luffy continued softly. Marco thought it was such a cruel fate for a baby to be born as a slave to the celestial dragons, or a slave at all. "His mom begged me to take care of him, and passed away as soon as she gave birth. I was only 11 then, but I agreed and tried my best to take care of the baby in a slave den."
"But in the end, he died for me," Luffy said, his voice thick with emotion. A sob escaped him alerting Marco.
"Hey, I'm sorry yoi," he said, softly. Unsure of what else to say, he turned Luffy towards him and gave him a tight hug.
Luffy feeling hidden, under the man's embrace began sobbing and crying. He hadn't talked about Kira with anyone in 2 years, keeping what happened and his regret all to himself. The six year old that died in front of him, for him. Why would a six year old do that?!
It was more painful this time, more painful then when he was hurt. Maybe because this time, it was his fault that the boy died. He failed to protect his sweet baby brother, he was weak. His heart clenched painfully, his mind yelling at himself.
Marco felt bad, maybe he shouldn't have asked after all. Luffy's cries are heart wrenching, it is even worse than the other times that he cried, his wails sounded so broken. Tears never ending, if the increasing wetness of his shirt was any indication. The raven gripped on his shirt so tight, his fists were turning white. So tight, like he's worried he might disappear.
The blond didn't know what to do, besides holding Luffy close and rubbing circles on his back. Repeating to him that it's okay, even if he doesn't know exactly what's wrong and even if maybe it wasn't okay. Leaving soft kisses on his head, to tell the raven that he was still there. He lost track of how long Luffy had been crying, he only noticed the sky had begun turning orange, and Luffy had stopped crying, lying still on his collarbone.
That was when a huge ship appeared in their sight, it was purple and had a white flag instead of a black one. That meant it wasn't a pirate's, nor was it a marine's, for the lack of ensignia. It could be civilians, then it wouldn't be okay for Luffy to attack them.
Luffy sniffled, rubbing his swollen and red eyes. Marco's traitorous mind thought he looked adorable, and he wanted to slap himself.
"Do you think they're only normal sailors?" Luffy asked, his voice slightly raspy.
However, before Marco could answer, they were spotted by the watch, and the passengers of the ship began to panic. The next thing they did was a mistake, they brought out cowering slaves, obvious, due to the heavy bomb collars adorning their neck.
Marco growled, realising it was a noble's ship. Luffy on the hand remained eerily quiet as he stared at the ship.
"Anyone that uses slaves can't be good right?" He asked blankly, "that's good, I'm not in the mood to check. But we need to keep the ship intact."
"Are you okay yoi?" Marco asked, holding his shoulders in concern.
Luffy gave him a short peck on his lips, "I'm okay now," he said, smiling a little, "let's do this."
Meanwhile, on the Moby Dick several hours after their departure. Everything was calm, too calm, like the calm before the storm.
The Moby Dick was drifting on the sea with nowhere to go, with no sails and a single mast. Thankfully, they were still in the tolerable paradise, and surprisingly, luck was on their side, as the weather remained clear. He just hoped they weren't going to drift to the calm belt, or everyone would have to row this massive ship to safety.
His peace was interrupted by a ruckus from the crow's nest, he wondered if Marco and Luffy were back so soon. On the other hand, he was amused by how his children could act like headless chickens, running around, panicking. Panicking?
"Oyaji, Hawkeye sighted!" One of his sons finally shouted from the watch.
"Hawkeye? What does that vampire brat want?" He muttered under his breath as his commander's gathered.
"Hahaha, even oyaji thinks he's a vampire," Thatch said, amused.
The damn Shichibukai didn't even ask for permission and boarded the Moby, his son's quickly stood on guard. Especially swordsmen who feel challenged by the World's Strongest Swordsman. The commanders bristled when the Hawk-eyed man suddenly sighed, and turned his back towards them nonchalantly.
"Wake up! We're here," the man grunted, visibly annoyed.
Now that was interesting, who would the loner, Hawkye, bring along with him on his tiny raft. A greenette boarded the ship, visibly groggy from sleep as he yawned.
The man looked to be around 20 years old, with oddly bright green, cropped hair. He also had three golden earrings on a single ear. Wearing a green kimono and green haramaki, tied with a red sash. Baring his chest, which carried a huge, fatal looking scar. Lastly, he was wearing black boots and was carrying three katanas. How odd.
He seemed to finally notice where he was, and stared, wide-eyed. His right hand automatically moved towards his katana, specifically the white one. Everyone thought someone was finally acting like they're in a yonko's presence, only to be shattered when he smirked. Not mocking or teasing, but challenging and excited.
Whitebeard could've sworn he saw fire in his eyes, what an interesting young man.
"Gurararara, what are you here for Hawkeye? Not coming for my son's head I hope," the captain grinned.
Mihawk grunted, "I don't care about that, I want to see Luffy," he demanded. He proceeded to slap Zoro, who had been staring challengingly at Whitebeard, on the back of his head, "stop that."
"I thought you were bringing me to meet someone," the greenette grumbled.
"Who's the brat?" Whitebeard asked. The brat glared after being called brat.
"A swordsman, Roronoa Zoro," the shichibukai introduced, "apparently he wants to take my title."
"Wait, so why is he here...with you?!" Izo asked, incredulously.
The man shrugged minutely, "so, where is the little fox?" He asked again.
Whitebeard answered, "sorry, but he left with Marco to feed his sea king," he explained with a grin. Pretty amused by what he said, and how ridiculous it sounded.
The swordsman didn't seem to like the answer, frowning, "how do I know you're not lying?"
"Well, you could wait and see~" Thatch answered easily.
"Fine, I'll wait here till night. Only," he said, and sat on the railing like he owned it.
"Pops," Vista whispered harshly, staring at him, "are we really letting him stay here?"
"Let him be, he knows Luffy," Whitebeard said, "besides, it would be entertaining," he grinned.
Vista looked defeated, so were the others, but they also looked exasperated. That was just how their father was, besides they can handle him if he tries anything.
Back to Marco and Luffy, they were finally finished dealing with everyone that wasn't a slave. Opting to throw the dead bodies off the ship and letting Aone swim after them herself, like a catching game.
The slaves was crying and thanking them while Luffy freeze the collar to break them. Marco, on the other hand, was picking on the locks carefully. The damn noble threw the keys over the ship after the raven ordered him to free the slaves, making him angry in the process. Let's just say the man had died in a gruesome manner.
"Wha-what are we going to do now?" One of the younger slaves asked meekly.
"Do any of you have sailing experience?" Luffy asked. Some of them raised their hands, enough to man the ship on their own it seems.
"Well then you guys can sail on your own to the nearest island and get a new life," Luffy said.
They seemed a little shocked at the sudden change, but began cheering as understanding dawned on them, they were free.
Luffy smiled a little, not in the best mood. "Well, looks like we won't get any food from here then," he told Marco.
"Wait, there's a lot of food, you guys can take some," one of the slaves offered.
"No, it's okay, you'll need it," Luffy said.
"Yeah, I'll check on some of you before we leave, yoi," Marco offered.
Luffy lay sprawled on Aone and stared at the darkening sky while Marco's busy. He was feeling kind of tired again, and grumpy, the fighting didn't help as much as he thought. Luffy kind of wants Marco here now, so he can hug him like a teddy bear (though he's more of a bird than a bear), hide his face and sleep.
Marco was currently helping the slaves with their wounds as much as he can with his medical knowledge. He also tried to give them meal plans to help with their malnutrition, and slowly ease them back to normal.
Once the blond was done, he said goodbye and flew over to the sea king, which was quite a distance away from the ship, it must've drifted. Upon arriving he noticed Luffy was asleep and smiled a little. He knew the raven wasn't in the best mood since he woke up that afternoon, plus he was still tired.
Deciding not to wake him up, he propped Luffy on his lap and laid his head on his collarbone. The raven didn't even rustle, continuing to sleep on his lap. Now the problem was whether the sea king would listen to him or not.
"Aone? Do you understand me yoi?"
The creature let out a short hum, and Marco thought it sounded a little disgruntled. But he really didn't want to wake Luffy up.
"Luffy's asleep, so can you swim that way as fast as you can," he tried to point at the direction Whitebeard's vivre card was pointing. But the sea king couldn't really see from where he was sitting.
So he ended up tugging on the rope left and right to adjust the direction, receiving annoyed growls with every tug. After that, he quickly took Luffy's bubbly coral and blew one big enough for them, just as the sea king dived into the sea. He had deduced that it was probably faster for a sea king to swim fully submerged than partly emerged.
Marco relaxed with Luffy in his arms, occasionally carding his fingers through the soft raven locks. He watched as Aone ate some huge fish that he came across on the way, watched as the sea got darker as time passed.
A part of him feels kind of anxious to be under the sea, in the dark where he could literally just drown and disappear (like the last time). Thankfully, Luffy's soft breathing and occasional mumbles helped accompany him. He didn't even realise how long it took before they finally rose up and the bubble popped, waking Luffy up.
At Moby Dick, the sun was setting and the sky was getting darker. Mihawk was invited by Whitebeard to drink some alcohol, though he was prohibited by his nurses, and watched as the greenette downed his alcohol, holding back a pout for his dignity. The damn brat had spent most of his time sleeping and drinking.
Thankfully, a familiar sea king rose up. Odd, because for the first time they were glad to see a sea king. They could make out Marco on the back and Luffy in front, rubbing his eyes as if he just woke up. Then the boy's head snapped up and honed in on Hawkeye, who was beginning to grimace. Why, though? Hasn't he been waiting for said person.
Then in a blink of an eye, there was a blur and Hawkeye had his arms full of a teen. Followed by a, 'Hawky-sensei!'
The greenette, who had so far seemed cool, spat his drink and gaped at the scene.
Almost everyone was the same, except for Marco, and Whitebeard, who sort of predicted it. Marco seemed surprised at the shichibukai's presence but didn't give it more thought while he flew down the sea king. The captain, on the other hand, was highly amused as he laughed out loud.
They watched as the grimace on the swordsman deepened as he awkwardly patted the raven's head. That was the first time they saw the raven relax completely, ironically it was in front of a shichibukai that is known to be a heartless killing machine.
Aone, the sea king suddenly spat out a bunch of fish of different sizes on deck. Attracting everyone's attention and eliciting disgusted reactions.
"Why did Aone just vomit?" Sabo asked with disgust.
"That's not vomit," Luffy deadpanned, "I told him to catch some fish."
Marco finally realised that those were half the fishes he watched Aone 'ate'. Luffy must've told her before he found him sleeping. He also noticed it was only half the amount she ate on the way, meaning she took some for herself on the way.
"We came across a noble's ship yoi," Marco explained, "they had slaves, so we left the food stock for them."
"Oh," Thatch said, as he picked up a slimy fish, "well, this is actually good to eat after some wash…and maybe skinning."
"WAIT!" The grenette, Zoro yelled, "sensei? What? You have another student?"
"Who's the moss ball?" Luffy asked dryly. Eliciting snickers and laughs.
"Moss ball, moss-" he repeated, getting angry slowly, "how dare you, you little chibi!"
"Calm Down!" Hawkeye said, holding the angry greenette back. He sighs in what seemed to be exhaustion when he finally stopped glaring.
"This is Monkey D. Luffy, he's the one I wanted you to meet," Hawkeye introduced, "you need to beat him, before I will train you."
"But don't kill him, or I will kill you," he added with some heat.
Surprising everyone around, it seems the 'coldhearted' shichibukai not only knows the raven but was also rather protective.
The greenette seemed shocked for a bit but grunted at the end. "Che- it's not like I'm a cold blooded killer or anything," he grumbled.
"Hmm, so you want to beat Hawky huh?" He muttered, face blank but calculating. Ignoring his teacher's growl at the nickname.
He turned to Luffy who was standing relaxed with his hand on a white, short katana, a ninjato. The boy was not very tall, nor muscular, rather slim. He was also surprisingly quite pret- 'okay, no! You must surpass this man,' Zoro though, suppressing his blush.
"So?" He asked, unsheathing a sword. Luffy responded by unsheathing his sword a little, with an audible click.
"STOOOOP!" Thatch yelled, "can we move this to after dinner, it's getting late."
Both their stomachs growled, the green haired swordsman turned red from embarrassment. Luffy only glanced at his stomach, a little accusingly, and shrugged.
After some persuasion, Mihawk finally caved and joined them for dinner. He was seated beside Whitebeard and Zoro, while Luffy sat between the greenette and Marco. The meal was quite rushed, the cause unclear between the awkwardness of eagerness for the spar.
Once the meal was over, the sky was purple and dark, but that didn't stop them. Whitebeard permitted the duel with the condition that the ship may not be harmed, and the wounded were moved away, a little, to create a room. Luffy had brought his nodachi out, surprising Zoro who didn't expect a longsword in play.
"So, I won't use my devil fruit, a swordsman's fight right? Can I use my daggers or throwing knives then? What about Rokushikis? Haki?" Luffy asked, standing on the opposite side of the other guy. He tilted his head sideways, it would've looked cute if he smiled. Instead it just looks unhinged and creepy.
"Yes," Zoro grunted, not caring.
Mihawk thought that was not good, it was too much advantage on Luffy's side and said no Haki since Zoro didn't have that yet, and no offence or defence Rokushikis, only the mobility ones.
"Why?" the greenette grumbled, not liking that his opponent was so restricted.
Mihawk scoffed, "if he used all that, I already know the result."
Zoro kept quiet, he had learnt that in the Grandline there were monsters, and his pride was worth nothing. Sometimes, he'll just have to swallow it and accept that he's not good enough yet .
Once Zoro unsheathed all his katana, many were quite interested. No one has ever seen anyone use three swords at once, and with their mouth at that.
The other swordsmen and swordswoman, like Vista, Haruta, and Thatch, were kind of curious. They couldn't deny being quite interested in this match. Especially after they saw Luffy use his swords in marineford.
Luffy wore a bloodthirsty grin matching that of the greenette. Surprising his brothers and almost all the spectators, who so far had only seen either nothing or a smile on his face. He unsheathed his nodachi and threw the sheath at Mihawk, he held the longsword in his right.
Then he unsheathed his ninjato with his left, his grip seems loose and weak. His stance was lazy, as he held the swords limply. Zoro felt annoyed for some reason, it's like the raven was mocking him. The others saw that before in Marineford, and Mihawk smirked, noticing his student's odd, lazy style.
It was another interesting and unique style, not to mention how he was using nitoryu with a long and short katana.
Zoro charged, using his three swords, only for them to be blocked by Luffy using both his swords crossed in an X. The raven pushed him back, surprising the man with his strength. It was Luffy's turn to charge, as he kept the ninjato beside him and used the nodachi to send a huge air attack, which Zoro managed to parry.
Luffy charged closer, using his shorter katana to hook all three of Zoro's katanas, pushing them to the side, while the long one descended for a slice. However, Zoro managed to barely escape by freeing a sword to block.
The greenette sent a tornado which strayed a little towards the sidelines, causing the wounded to wince. Fortunately, before anyone interferes or gets hurt, Luffy appeared with soru, and used both his swords to send wind attacks, breaking it.
Zoro charged in again from the left, noticing the difference in range between the left and right from the different weapons. However, he underestimated Luffy, who crossed his arm and switched his weapons quickly. Defending and keeping the distance again.
Thinking that distance was his advantage, Zoro decided to fight close range. Sending more wind attacks to push the raven back, who was backed into the railing, he rushed. Luffy, noticing the aim, quickly sheathed his ninjato and held his nodachi with his teeth by the blade. Zoro widened his eyes and watched as the teen switched to two daggers. Parrying his attack with a faster speed, since it was lighter and shorter, easier to handle.
The raven slowly pushed the grenette back, nicking his cheeks and arms occasionally. Suddenly, he hopped up, and disappeared, jumping up the sky as high as he could. Zoro turned his head up in shock to see his opponent diving, he tried to escape only to be blocked by two daggers thrown to stop him.
Luffy threw the daggers when he saw the man try to escape his range, hurting Moby Dick a little. Then quickly switched to his longsword with both hands. Trapped, the greenette could only block the heavy attack from above, grunting from the weight.
He threw the raven a distance away, which rolled and skidded on his feet.
The three sword user attacked again, using two of his katanas to push the raven's weapon, and trying to use the one on his teeth to slice the raven's neck. In a show of agility, Luffy leaned back and raised a leg to kick the swordsman away.
The fight went on, Luffy had the upper hand but the other opponent seemed to have a crazy tenacity. Every time he's pushed back, Zoro seemed to grow more and would rise up to the challenge. While they both had skills, the greenette had an advantage in monstrous strength. The raven on the other hand has the upper hand due to his extreme agility and rokushiki advantages.
They were both gaining wounds, though more on Zoro's side, but so far nothing fatal. It was getting pretty tiring for the two of them, and exciting for the spectators, some were even starting to bet on who would be the winner.
At a distance, they both pants, trying to catch their breath. Before they both charged again, Luffy stuffed his nodachi in his teeth again and threw several of his throwing knives. Zoro used his katanas to block, but some of them still nicked him.
Distracted with the knives, Luffy used his leg to push one of his arms away, and parried the other with the nodachi. Pushing him back while using his ninjato to aim at his neck, a straight attack to the neck couldn't be blocked by the katana in his mouth.
Zoro fell to the ground with Luffy standing on one of his arms, while the nodachi held back the other. A shorter katana pointed at his neck.
"I think I won?" Luffy said with a small smile, recalling his weapons and legs. Zoro stared, wide-eyed but a grin slowly growing on his face.
Mihawk smiled, satisfied with his student's improvement, passing Luffy his nodachi's sheath. Looks like he started training again before the war. Haruta whistled, while some others clapped and cheered. Vista and Thatch looked quite amazed and intrigued.
Luffy decided he was too tired, he let himself fall on deck and lay there, sprawled, several metres away from the greenette. That was an interesting spar, and it kind of lightened up his sour mood.
Omake ~ (Valentine's Day)
Today was valentine's day, not that Luffy knew. He woke up as usual next to Marco on the Moby Dick and spent the day like any other.
However, he kept seeing the nurses giggling every once in a while in some dark corner. It was kind of creeping him out. They better not be plotting something involving Marco again, he hated that.
'Marco's his, and his only,' he thought and huffed.
Though even Thatch seemed weirdly excited and spent the whole morning in the kitchen, humming happily. But then it was Thatch, so he could just be in a good mood.
Though after breakfast, he came out. Passing a box of something pink and wrapped with a ribbon to anyone he saw. He also gave oyaji a huge one. Well, Luffy didn't really care and just watched with a smile, beside the captain.
"Here Luffy, one for you," Thatch said, shoving one of those boxes at him, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Luffy tilted his head sideways adorably, "huh? What's that?"
"You don't know what Valentine's day is?!" Thatch asked in his typical dramatic self.
Luffy pouted, "should I?"
"Gurarararara, it's a day where people give the person they like or love something to express their feelings," oyaji explained, ruffling his youngest son's hair, "but for us, it's a day to celebrate the people we care about and love."
"Ooooh," Luffy said in understanding, "well, I don't have anything to give you so-"
The raven tiptoed in front of Thatch and gave him a small peck on his cheek. "Thank you for the gift!" He exclaimed with a smile.
Thatch stood still, face turning kind of red, and those around the area gasped at the scene. On the other hand, the cause had already sauntered nonchalantly to the figurehead. Whitebeard laughed in amusement, of course.
Words about what happened spread like wildfire, reaching the first mate's ears.
Whitebeard sat on his 'throne', listening to Luffy's songs from the figurehead. This has become a thing he loved, listening to Luffy's soft singing carried by the wind while he sat and watched over his children.
Then he saw Marco fly down towards the little fox, which tilted his head to watch the phoenix transform into a human. He focused more to listen to their conversation, he'll stop if it's private.
"Marco!" Luffy exclaimed, bouncing on his seat a little, but not getting up.
"I left you alone for a while and you're giving kisses out yoi?" Marco asked, more teasing than mad.
"Hey, I just wanted to say thank you but I have nothing," Luffy said, "besides it was a friendly kiss."
"Friendly huh?" Marco repeated, smiling, "I don't know what to do with you yoi." He said, kissing the raven's forehead eliciting giggles.
"I'm going to go back to work, you okay on your own yoi?" The blond asked.
Damn, Whitebeard really needs to have a talk with his workaholic son, make him just stop and relax more. But he saw Luffy nodding with a grin, and Marco disappeared somewhere again.
After lunch, Luffy went back to sitting beside him. Then one by one, his children came, and offered the confused raven gifts. Whitebeard smiled, amused, suspecting his children's goals with all the gifts.
"E-eh?" He stuttered, trying to juggle random boxes of items.
However, before any of them could get what they wanted, an annoyed phoenix landed beside the raven. Pulling him into a one armed hug.
"Expecting kisses yoi?" Marco asked sweetly, scarily sweet, with a smile that didn't seem happy.
Luffy looked at Marco then turned to the cowering crowd, realising their motives. Chuckling a little.
"I'll give you 'kisses' yoi!"
"Yeah, I'll 'kiss' you with my fist," Ace grinned evilly, fist lighting up in flames.
"Or my pipe, maybe," Sabo asked politely, pretending to hum thoughtfully.
Owh, it looks like the overprotective brothers heard of what happened too, and are here to keep the dirty pirates away from their baby brother.
"Ahaha, no thanks, it was just a gift, BYE!" One of them said.
"Y-yeah, we just wanted to say we care about him, right Luffy?" Another said.
Soon enough, they all gave some sort of reason and left, before any of the three commanders gave them 'kisses'.
"Luffy! We're taking these to scan them!" Ace said, grabbing the mountain of presents in his arms. Sabo agreed and took them too.
"There'd better be no R-18 items in here," Sabo said.
Some of his sons paled a little, what did they give the boy? However, Luffy only smiled and laughed at their overprotectiveness, and let it be.
Then he thought of something and turned to Marco. He tiptoed and pulled the blond's neck, giving him an innocent kiss on the lips this time. Stunning the blond and his brothers, who went wide-eyed.
Honestly, they should get used to it already.
"So, are you going to give me something?" Luffy asked, tilting his head sideways with a mischievous grin.
Marco groaned and picked up Luffy, marching to his room quickly, Luffy giggling all the way. They didn't come out for the rest of the day, and the others had to tie up Ace and Sabo with thick, thick ropes on the mast, to stop them.
Okay, IDK if what i've written was considered smut. But I was blushing so bad while writing that, more than when I wrote sex scenes, wonder why? Also, underwater sex, I wasn't planning that. But interesting, isn't it lol.
Also, there's that big past reveal. Ik Kira's an OC, i'm not much of an OC fan so he'll onl appear a little. It's also why I killed him. Sorry Kira.
The fighting scene... was HARD. I really don't know how to describe an epic battle and idk if what Luffy did was considered dishonourable, so excuse me if he did. Also, I hope it was soooort of cool :) Luffy only allowed to use Geppou and Soru here to try and balance the spar.
Of course Zoro would still be better than Luffy in the future. Luffy's not focused on being a swordsman, also the reason why Mihawk took in Zoro after that. I'm assuming that without Luffy, Zoro would've kept going and eventually enter the Grandline, fight people. He met Mihawk before and then found his island by chance with luck. And Tadaaa here they are.
I randomly thought of the omake, Luffy might be a little different from the original here, a little more innocent. But the story was supposed to happen after he had settled in. I hope it was cute enough.
Anyway, finishing this story at 5a.m. So, Happy Valentine's guys, if your timezome was earlier then oops. IF not then great! I'm not late, hopefully.
