Long silver hair covered his aqua eyes as he lay on Sora's bed. Said blue-eyed brunette was currently pacing about the room.

"Sora, stop. Just stop." Riku pleaded. "Don't worry about me! I'll be fine. Really."

"Riku! No! You won't! You always say this. You say it's 'nothing' or that it's 'fine' but I know it's not!" Sora turned to face Riku a moment, eyes red from crying and exhaustion.

"Okay, okay, you don't have to believe me. But at least stop pacing before you pace a trench right into the floor." Sora stopped, and sat next to Riku on the bed.

"Riku…please. Tell me what's wrong." Riku turned away, concealing his face.

"No…don't shut me out!" Sora lay down next to Riku, bringing him into his arms. Riku didn't struggle, and easily settled his head onto Sora's chest. He could hear Sora's strong, steady heartbeat as he lay there. Sighing, Sora tried again, "Please, Riku. I want to help you."

"I'm fine, Sora…" Riku's voice trailed off as he desperately fought off the tears. He felt so weak, always crying, always depressed.

"We can get you help. I'm not giving up on you, ever. You may be ready to die and leave this all behind, but I'm not! You're scaring me, Riku! I'm worried about you. You're my best friend…you can't leave me!" Riku felt a drop of water fall onto his forehead, and he looked up only to see Sora crying. Sliding out of Sora's arms, Riku holds Sora in his arms instead. Hearing and feeling Riku's own heartbeat, Sora remembers once when Riku mentioned he believed heartbeats brought people closer. He thought if you listened to each other's heartbeats, it brought you closer to that person. After all, you were listening to the one thing keeping this person alive. However, Sora noticed that today, Riku's heart was beating nearly three times as fast.

"Sora…I'm scared too. I don't know who I am anymore. My memories are fading and so am I. I can't be happy anymore and I'm so so sorry. Sorry you have to deal with this, with me. I'm just not normal. I'm depressed, stupid, pathetic and a million other things…I should just kill myself now. God knows I've already tried so many times." Riku began to cry himself, tears sliding down his face.

"No…don't leave me. You can't. I don't know what I'd do without you. And you say you want to get better, but all you do is beat yourself up! I hate it when you do that to yourself…"

"It's true, though." Suddenly, he felt a sharp slap. "No it's not! Even if you don't think you are perfect and good, you are to me! I love you, Riku…"

"I love you, too, Sora…you're the only thing keeping me alive anymore." Sora slid up closer to Riku and gently brushed the hair out of his eyes. Blue eyes rimmed with tears, Sora hugged Riku tightly.

"Help me Sora…help me find myself again. Help me before I fade into darkness again."

"We'll do this together. I'm not losing you ever again. Once was quite enough!"

"Okay, together. We'll go together."

A/N: My 2nd fanfiction. I honestly have no idea where this came from. I know it's dark and depressing, but it ends with hope. And they're just friends! No yaoi in this. By the way, "psychotherapy" is a treatment for depression, which Riku has in this particular story. It just means you talk about your problems and whatnot. I thought it fit the story, since that is what they are doing.
