After our shower, I finish getting redressed before Kasumi. I pull out my PDA and look over the information I have on my classmates while I wait, opening the Registered Classmates tab.
…
Seven classmates down, ten classmates to go. I haven't met any more members of other classes - here's hoping it'll stay that way.
I can't handle another Harlequin.
I lost her. Stupid Kasumi.
We were supposed to head straight to the cafeteria to start cleaning but the gremlin decided it would be fun to steal my map of the school and run off without me. I better not get more detention because I'm late…
I mean, I could ask another student for directions - there's plenty of them around me. I just really don't feel like — I stop, all the blood draining from my face.
...what the hell just grabbed onto my leg?
I look down, letting out a shaky sigh of relief when I lock eyes with a pair of purple-blue ones. "Yukiko, I think you just took ten years off my life." I say.
"Red!" is all Yukiko says in response, a bright smile on her face.
I sigh again and look back up, searching for Luan. "Yuki, where's your dad?" I ask her when I don't see him, looking back down.
Yukiko just stares back up at me with those big, scary, child eyes and a clueless look on her face like she has no idea what I just said.
Ah, that's right. Luan is Albanian. Didn't Yukiko call him something else…?
I rack my brain, trying to remember what Yukiko called Luan. Or maybe...what's the Albanian word for dad? I know I've had to have fixed at least one book about Albania. I always end up reading the books I fix, it's inevitable when I'm taking them apart page by page and sewing them back together.
Then it comes to me: "Baba! Where's baba, Yuki?" I ask.
Yukiko's face lights up but before she can answer the man in question comes up with an unfamiliar student by his side. "Yukiko, I t-told you not to run ahead." Luan scolds his daughter.
I frown, studying Luan closely. He looks...different, somehow.
Luan shuffles his feet awkwardly, an uncomfortable look on his face. "H-H-Hello, S-Sora." he says nervously.
I wince, remembering how anxious he was before Armen interrupted us. "Hello, sorry." I apologize, giving him a small smile. "You just seem...different, somehow." I say.
"Oh!" Luan says, his face lighting up. "Y-Yes, um, my uniform before was too big on me." he explains.
"Oh yeah," I blink, remembering that I noticed that before. "you got it fixed already?" I ask.
Luan nods and gestures to the student beside him. "Takeshi fixed them all for me," he says.
The student beside him finally speaks, beaming. "Sora Sugawara, as I live and breathe!"
...Huh?
I look up at the rather tall student, staring at her - his (?) face.
"Uh…"
"Oh, pardon my rudeness, we haven't been formally introduced." the student says and puts a hand on their chest, bowing slightly. "My name is Takeshi Yamamoto, commonly known as the Ultimate Tailor. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Takeshi, a boy's name. Thank God he introduced himself before I said something awkward.
Takeshi is a tall and lanky boy. He has light blue eyes with fairly thick eyelashes and neck-length blond hair with blue tips (which only adds to his androgyny). Takeshi's hair is slightly parted to the right with the rest of it tied into a small ponytail. Interestingly enough, he hasn't changed into his uniform yet. He's wearing an untucked white button-up shirt with a baby blue vest over it, light brown pants, and blue and white sneakers.
And, uh, he's a big fan of repairing books, I guess? No...he's a tailor, maybe he likes the way I sew them?
I don't know, I never thought people would be fans of what I do - it's not anything to fawn over. I'd expect fans for an Ultimate Actor like Seizo Morine or an Ultimate Serial Novelist like Daisuke Serizawa, not an Ultimate Bookbinder. Maybe someone like Tatsumi Endo, an Ultimate Paparazzi, would be interested but he's into all things Ultimate so he doesn't really count.
I'm not that big a fan of Sun Witch Esper Ito but Seizo's acting is out of this world. As for Daisuke, I haven't gotten a chance to read his work or repair a book of his but I heard there's a really popular one called The Monsters Within Us, I think.
The Tragedy destroyed a lot of places, including bookstores. I wonder when I'll get the chance to check that out…
Also, now that I think about it, I once heard someone came after Tatsumi for some good ol' fashioned cold blooded revenge after a not so flattering picture so maybe it's for the best that I've managed to avoid him.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love what I do and I'm good at it - I wouldn't be here if I wasn't - but there's really nothing to fanboy over. The only reason people know about what I do is because my brother would post pictures of my work on social media. Kaname was that kind of big brother.

"Red?" Yukiko calls, tugging on my sleeve and pulling me out of my thoughts. She looks up at me, a worried look on her face.
I smile and pat her head. "I'm fine, Yukiko." I say and turn back to Takeshi and Luan. "So, would either of you happen to know how to get to the cafeteria?"
"I can take you!" Takeshi says. "But first, I believe our friend here said you were in Class 80-A as well?"
"Takeshi Yamamoto, a candidate for Lust." the woman says. She frowns slightly. "He's certainly...an interesting one."
"How so?" the man asks.
"His file." the woman says. "Haven't you taken a look at it?"
"Well, no…"
The woman shakes her head and turns her head back to the screen displaying Sora, Luan, Yukiko, and Takeshi. "You're hopeless. How did you even get this position?" the woman sighs.
The man smiles as he reminisces. "Boss helped me in my greatest time of need," he explains. "I was so hopeful that help would come save me and my family during the Tragedy. Then I met him, he showed me the truth and the true beauty of despair; no one was coming to help and embracing despair would feel so much better." the man says. "This is my way of repaying him: teaching these sinners the true beauty of what they've done."
"Don't forget the possibility of other end results." the woman says. "The boss said he wouldn't mind either result, remember?"
"I know, I know…"
Takeshi hands me back my PDA and I look over his information.

Goddamn he's tall. I think he's taller than Armen if I remember correc-
...Wait a minute.
"Are you the reason our measurements are in here and so...detailed?" I ask, giving him a look.
"Well, yes, I can't do my work correctly without all the correct measurements after all - w-wait where are you going!?"
I manage to find the cafeteria on my own, thankfully. Kasumi is already inside waiting for me with her stupid little gremlin smile.
"I hate you."
"No you don't~." Kasumi drawls, grinning and waving my map of the school in front of my face.
"I wish I did." I say sassily and snatch my map out of her evil clutches. "Where're the boys?"
Kasumi gestures to the dirtier side of the cafeteria. "They're cleaning the dirtier side as an apology for the whole waffle thing." she says.
I nod and look around at the side that Kasumi and I are evidently responsible for. It still looks pretty bad. "Have you started cleaning yet?"
"No, I was waiting for my widdle baby raccoon." Kasumi coos, pinching my cheeks.
I slap her hands away but before I can respond, I hear the cafeteria doors open and a rather tall girl walks in, examining the room with cold green eyes. She frowns and walks further into the room. "Filthy." she mutters under her breath. Then she finally looks at Kasumi and I, giving me a better look at her face.
Just like with Takeshi, I have to crane my neck up to look at her but fortunately this girl is a bit shorter than him. She's about as pale and dead-looking as Armen but something about her tells me that she's not unhealthy, she just oddly looks that way. She has neat shoulder length brown hair and slightly sunken in green eyes. And, also like Takeshi, she hasn't changed into her uniform either. She's wearing a clean, sharp black suit with a blue tie that has darker blue diagonal stripes. Her black shoes are so polished that they're reflecting the light coming from the massive cafeteria windows.
"You." the girl says. "You two are in Class 80-A, correct? I've heard that a bunch of our classmates are causing trouble and that nine of our eighteen already have detention." she says.
So she's in 80-A too, huh? But, nine of the eighteen of us in Class 80-A? I thought it was just six of us that had detention?
I voice my question to the sharply dressed girl and she shakes her head. "Nine." she says. "There's you five, the American, and Luan Delvina and Takeshi Yamamoto. They received three days of detention for the alteration of school property and Takeshi received an extra day for being out of uniform about two minutes ago from some no-name staff member." she says. "I just passed by them."
Kasumi raises an eyebrow. "I'm not the smartest tool in the shed but that's only eight people. You said nine." she says.
The girl stiffens, looking down. "...I also got detention for being out of uniform." she says and clears her throat. "I wasn't the only one, however. Yuya T - Harlequin of Class 80-B also received detention for being out of uniform. Our class' behavior aside, allow me to introduce myself. I am Juriya Inaba, Ultimate Surgeon. You are?"
I look over Juriya's information again, committing the information to memory.
Name Juriya Inaba
Height 5 ft. 11 in. (182.3 cm.) | Weight 132 lbs. (60 kg.)

Likes Peace and quiet, reading medical journals, chess
Dislikes Rock music, violence, happy-go-lucky people
Ultimate Surgeon
Like I thought before, she's most likely not unhealthy. Juriya is a doctor, after all. She just needs a bit more Vitamin D. And Juriya may not like happy-go-lucky people (cough Kasumi cough) but she likes peace and quiet in the same way Kasumi dislikes loud noises, so they might get along.
...Right?
I stuff my PDA back in my pocket and trail behind the rest of my classmates. I don't know where they're going but I'm not keen on getting lost again.
"So, Juriya Inaba. You never said anything about her when Sugawara first encountered her." the woman says to the man.
The man looks away from the screen, surprised. "I didn't? Huh." he says and turns back to their screens, flipping through the cameras until they're focused on the one of Armen and Juriya leaving the dormitories. "An Ultimate Surgeon, right?" he asks, humming when the woman nods. "One of the many candidates for Pride." the man scoffs. "This class is full of a bunch of prideful little shits."
The woman stifles a laugh. "Be serious."
The man yawns as he flips the camera back to Sora's room. "Well, out of Pride's many candidates, y'know who I think'll take the crown?"
The woman raises an eyebrow when she hears the man's answer. "Really now? Interesting…"
Anyways, fortunately it didn't take much work or sweat to clean the cafeteria. With the combination of specially made cleaning products, Juriya's instruction, and a few good Samaritans who felt guilty about the damage they caused, we were done in less than two hours.
But it's now close to lunchtime and we still haven't gotten any announcements about when school will actually-
Ding!
Huh?
I stop and so does the rest of our little group: Hitoshi, Kensuke, Toshiro, and Kasumi. That sounded like it came from my PDA-
"It came from your PDA!" Kasumi says, my PDA already in her hands.
When did she even…? I sigh. I don't even want to know where she got that skill from.
"Kasumi."
Kasumi wordlessly hands me back my PDA and smiles like she's never done anything wrong in her entire life.
I roll my eyes and look at the screen of my PDA.

Oh. I wonder what it is.
I click on the Messages tab and read the message out loud when I see everyone looking at me expectantly.
"'Miss Sugawara, your belongings have all been delivered to your dorm room. Your room number is-'" I stop, glancing up at Kasumi. "I'm not telling you where I'm sleeping."
Kasumi's jaw drops in offense. "Why not!?"
"I have an eerie feeling you might sneak in somehow and start washing my back while I'm showering."
Hitoshi nods in agreement. "That does seem like something you'd do, Kasumi." he says. "I've known you for a shorter time than Sora but I've only ever seen you two picking on each other."
"I just want to bond-" Kasumi stops, the same tone that came from my PDA ringing out from her pocket. She pulls out her own PDA and taps on it a few times. She looks back at me, a calculating look on her face.
I narrow my eyes at her. "What?"
"My room number is 1-E." Kasumi says and grins when my face drops. "I knew it!"
"I hate my life."
"Say it."
"No."
"Say we're neighbors."
"I'm dropping out."
"I can't wait to have sleepovers."
Before I can say anything else, my worst nightmare comes true and Toshiro starts talking and matching her gremlin energy: "Can I come too? I'll bring some toys I've made and we can play card games!" he says excitedly, beaming when Kasumi's face lights up.
Goddammit I thought he was the normal one out of the three. Why are they planning a sleepover in my room right in front of me?
To make matters worse, Hitoshi starts going along with it too. "Yeah, sounds good to me. I really like a good old game of Go Fish to relax." he says with a bright smile and puts his hands behind his head. "I think the PDA lets us message each other. Just shoot me a DM when it's time!"
"G-Guys, seriously, I'm right here-"
Kensuke grins from ear to ear. "Perfect!" he says and clasps his hands together. "But remember, we have to take Miss Sugawara into consideration." he says and turns to me. "I know some methods of making you fall asleep if you'd rather not participate." he offers. "It'd be just like rocking a baby to sleep - except, you know, I won't be doing that exactly." Ken says with a laugh.
...Well now that's an idea I can get behind. As long as no one else comes, especially that stupid tailor, I might just go along with this-
"Ah, Sora Sugawara, I've been looking for you!"
...I can no longer get behind this idea.
I slowly turn around, glaring at the blond and blue haired tailor. "What?"
Takeshi smiles, unbothered by my tone. "You left before we could finish our conversation!" he says cheerfully. "I'd like to continue, that's all. I've seen some of your sewing techniques first hand a-and I…" he stutters, trailing off as Kasumi and the boys stare at him in awe. "H-Hello," Takeshi says politely. "Er, is something the matter?"
"Cute." is all Toshiro says, stars in his eyes.
Kensuke nods. "You are one beautiful man, my guy." he agrees.
Hitoshi nods along with him. "Are you sure you're not a girl, dude? You're like...so pretty." he says.
"Oh," Takeshi laughs. "I do get that a lot but as sure as sure can be, I am a genuine boy." he laughs. "Would you like to see for yourself?"
…
…
…
That's my cue to leave again.
"Wha - where are you going!?" Takeshi cries as I speed walk away.
"Away from you. Again."
Kasumi, being the ever persistent tail she is, follows me quietly as I navigate my way around the school with my map.
"I wonder…" I mumble under my breath.
Kasumi perks up. "What?" she asks.
"Aside from you guys, I've seen Luan and Takeshi twice but I've only met Armen and Candace once." I say. "Just wondering where-"
"Go on. Say it, monobrow." a familiar, sassy voice says from behind the corner Kasumi and I are about to round. "I saw the way you looked at me. I just know you're dying to preach the 'word of God' at me, aren't you, hon?"
"Well," Kasumi says quietly as we stare at the rather interesting trio in front of us. "we found one of them."
The familiar voice belonged to our most eccentric classmate so far, Candace. She's with a pretty, unfamiliar looking girl and a rather unusually dressed boy with (as Candace said) a thick monobrow. Both of them are out of uniform.
What's with this streak of new people being out of uniform?
The girl, well, I wouldn't say she's out of uniform exactly but...I don't know. Something about the accessories and something about her makes the uniform not seem like a uniform. She's wearing it exactly within regulations but she's also wearing an expensive looking conch pearl necklace and earrings made of the same pearls in a vertical line of three, their size increasing as they descend. The girl herself, however, looks very much like the idealized version of Japanese beauty. She has flawless porcelain skin and dark brown eyes with thick lashes. Her straight black hair is pulled back into a bun on the top of her hair with a few sections that don't fit in the bun falling down to fram both sides of her face. Like I said before, she's pretty. There's just no denying that.
Monobrow, however, looks like a walking contradiction. He looks so aggressive and manly - not the good kind of manly, the kind that screams toxic masculinity just by breathing - which is a bit confusing because his expression radiates kindness. Which is even more confusing because Candace seems to be upset with him but I digress.
The boy is tall, like, tall. Taller than Takeshi by the looks of it and ridiculously muscular for what he seems to be presenting himself as. He's a clean shaved guy with the only hair on his head being his thick unibrow. He has light skin and yellow eyes. Monobrow is wearing what looks like a standard Catholic priest's outfit colored black. It covers almost all of his body and leaves only his head, hands, and shoes visible (which are simple black shoes with black socks). He's also wearing a cross necklace and has a small belt wrapped around his waist that holds a Bible against him.
The boy doesn't seem to acknowledge Candace, instead turning on his heel to walk away. However, he stops when he sees me and Kasumi standing there. He smiles again and bows slightly. "Hello my child." he says, approaching us and taking one of our hands in each of his. "My name is Yosuke Sakurai, the Ultimate Priest." he introduces himself. "I am but a humble servant to our Lord, but if you request my aid in achieving salvation, I shall be happy to oblige."
I glare at him. "Don't touch me."
Yosuke instantly drops my hand.
"Don't touch her either." I say, slapping his hand away from Kasumi's. "Why is Candace angry with you?" I ask, ignoring his introduction.
Yosuke in turn ignores my introduction and pulls out his PDA. He smiles again, "You wouldn't happen to be in Class 80-A, would you?" he asks.
"Oof," the man says. "he's not gonna get along great with them well at all, is he?"
"Not one bit." the woman sighs. "Yosuke Sakurai, another Lust sinner." she says. "A priest in a game like this certainly makes things interesting, don't you think?"
The man nods. "Absolutely. And the girl, who is she?"
"Kanna Kawagiri, a candidate for Gluttony. I'm especially excited to see how she behaves in the game."
The man raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Why's that?" he asks.
"I do trust you've read her file, at least?" the woman asks. She continues when the man nods. "I personally think Kanna Kawagiri's history and the first motive we have planned…" the woman smiles, a look of despair taking over her face. "I think they'll make a despairingly delicious combination."
"You think she'll fall for it?"
"I guess we'll see, won't we?"
I look down at my PDA as Yosuke walks away.

Hm.
Kasumi frowns as she puts her PDA away. "I don't like him." she says.
"Apparently Candace doesn't either." I say and we approach the two girls. The girl with the dark hair is trying to soothe a raging Candace.
"Relax, Candy." the dark haired girl says. "He's just one of those freaks who thinks they know the Bible when they really don't, alright? Remember what you told me, that stuff about a man laying with another man was just a mistranslation?"
I frown. So Yosuke is one of those people. I remember what Candace said when we first met, something about getting heated when people disrespect the LGBTQ community.
"Hey, Candace." I greet with a small wave.
Kasumi gives her a small smile. "You okay?"
Candace looks up from the floor, beaming when she sees me and Kasumi. "Girls!" she smiles. She still looks a bit put off from whatever encounter she had with Yosuke but seeing us seems to have cheered her up a bit (which admittedly makes me feel a little good about myself). "I can't believe a naked little rat like him is in our class, but, at least he wasn't exactly like the first guy I got expelled." she sighs. "I'll just have to keep my fabulous self away from him, won't I? To keep the peace and all that jazz."
The dark haired girl smiles. "That's right." she says and turns to us. "And who are you two lovely girls?" she asks.
Seeing as how this girl seems to be a lot friendlier than Yosuke, Kasumi gives the girl her usual enthusiastic greeting, introducing herself and myself in the process.
"Well you're just a ball of energy aren't you?" the girl laughs. "Sora Sugawara and Kasumi Yuan." she repeats, committing our names to memory. "It's nice to meet you!"
I sigh and nod, rubbing my temples. "She most definitely is." I say. "And who are you?" I ask her.
The girl blinks, staring at me with a weird look. "O-Oh, um, I'm Kanna Kawagiri, of course!" she says with a pout. "Don't tell me you actually didn't know!"
I frown. "Why would I know who you are?"
Kanna looks genuinely surprised and confused that I don't know who she is.
"What, are you a singer or something?" I ask, making Kanna's jaw drop.
Kasumi laughs and pats Kanna on the shoulder. "She's always like this, Kawagiri, don't take it personally." she says.
"She's always like this, Kawagiri, don't take it personally." I repeat mockingly and cross my arms. "I'm going to find my room." I say and walk off.
"Oh, wait for me!" Kasumi says and follows me.
"W-Wait, do you really not know who I am?" Kanna stutters as she follows after us. "I'm in Class 80-A too! Register me as a classmate, maybe it'll jog your memory!" she cries, pulling out her PDA and shoving it in my face.
"Girl, don't leave me behind!" Candace whines as she follows after us.
I sigh and take Kanna's PDA as we walk, registering her as a classmate.
