Amygdala ch 4

"So yeah, I've been seeing many more people like that lately, and I'm not sure how to feel about them" said Lan as he cleaned various weapons and instruments he had been practicing with.

"Yeah I guess it is time I talked to you about these things." Said Byakko, as he bit into an enormous roasted bird leg.

The two of them were currently spending some time together in Lan's dwelling on the roof of the orchid. Byakko had originally come because he had sensed a pulse of mystic energy and had come to punish Lan for defying a direct order. But after finding that Lan had only been using alchemy to make blue peaches, the boy's new favorite food, and the fact that Chispa, who had been selling Lan the mystic reagents, endorsed it, the old man decided to let this one slide and had decided to partake of the bounty that Lan had begun cooking up. They had then started chatting with each other for a little while, and the topic of Lan not being used to gay people came up.

"Just treat em the same as normal" said Byakko as he shoved a large blue peach in his mouth and chewed up the seed. "Only difference is that they'll be hitting on their own instead of the other."

"I've been noticing that the ones I meet here are a little crazy though" said Lan, as he cut up a peach to make into sauce.

"Everyone crazy in this town, not a good comparison" said Byakko "I should know, I've had a lot of experience talking with gay people. Heck, a few hundred years ago I lead a squadron composed completely of male gay lovers."

"Really? What was that like?" said Lan as he began making some jaozi, gyoza, and mandu.

"Oh, they were great. Real valiant fellas." Said Byakko "The whole theme of the unit was victory through the power of love, or something like that. If one died, the survivor would charge the enemy in a suicide attack so that they would quickly meet again, and on the flip side if one was injured too badly to continue fighting, they and their partner would be sent home together. Ironically, the unit was decommissioned after they started letting woman join the army, but I think that was more pf a combination of letting people love who they wanted to and the fact that a lot of the men in the units actually preferred if their partner lived out a peaceful life if they died instead of going for a suicide rush."

The two continued talking as Byakko began to dump everything he knew on the subject to the boy, with the exception of more explicit content which Lan stopped before it could be described. And an hour later…

"Well, that about does it…so, after hearing all that, do you think you're gay?" asked Byakko, who raised an eyebrow.

Lan placed his finger on his chin and thought for a moment before responding.

"Completely sure I'm not" said Lan.

"Oh Good, that means I won't have to change the kind of porn I try to force on you!" said Byakko, whose face split into a huge grin as he pulled out a dirty magazine.

"Uh oh" said Lan.

A few moments later after some scuffling, the doors to the lower floors opened and Sylvia walked through holding a scroll.

"Hey guys, there's a request for—what the heck are you doing?"

"LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT THEM TIG OL BITTIES!" shouted Byakko, who had just tackled Lan onto the ground and was attempting to force the boy stare at the pages he had opened to.

"NO NO NO!" shouted Lan, who had his head turned to the side and was using his arms block his face. "HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!"

"…Right, well I'm just going to read what's on here." Said Sylvia as he she turned her gaze back on the screen. "On his way back from his duties, another member of our group named Arnelle was called over by the promoter of a wrestling tournament that recently came to town. The man said that a Byakko Muteki and Lan Zhihui that work for us were needed at a venue soon, but he had no way to contact them. So, after giving Arenelle a generous bribe, the request was redirected here."

"Oh right, the wrestling match!" said Byakko who released his grip, allowing Lan to scamper free. "When is it?"

"30 minutes." Said Sylvia, who headed back to the door "Don't be late now."

"Woah! We better book it then! Lan, get our wrestling Speedos!" shouted Byakko.

"Can I just wear normal—" started Lan.

"Nope!" interrupted Byakko, who quickly grabbed Lan by the face, and after rummaging in the boy's nearby backpack for a moment found their costumes.

"Trey, take care of Fuji while I'm gone!" shouted Byakko.

"Got it boss, and she will take care of the little guys." Said Trey, who pointed to Fuji who was happily chewing away on the little ones who were whimpering as they struggled to escape her grasp, and they dared not fight back since she had already established dominance earlier.

"I'll go ahead for now and warm up the crowd" said Byakko, who dropped Lan back on the ground. "Meet me there soon!"

He then leapt off the roof down into the streets below, where he raced off in the direction of the venue.

A few moments later, Sylvia's scroll beeped and she flipped it open.

"It says that your grandpa is running naked through the streets and causing mass panic" she said "The implants are using more dopamine than usual to suppress this."

"Oh, not again." Sighed Lan as he got to his feet, grimacing as he held his purple wrestling speedo in front of him. "Well, I better get a move on."

Deciding to change at the venue rather than along the way, Lan headed down the stairs and used the scroll to follow his grandfathers' path of indecency to the venue. Eventually however, he put it away as the path of property damage and happy/traumatized individuals had become too glaring to be overlooked.

A little while later, he arrived at his destination, a small fighting arena where a large crowd had gathered, it seems the event was already underway.

"Well then" thought Lan, as he pulled out the wrestling speedo "Hopefully this is the last time I'll be wearing—"

'Boom'

A large explosion rocked the streets around him. The boy quickly regained his footing, then began looking around for the source of the disturbance. He quickly identified it. A few streets a way, rising up from a large cloud of smoke was as rather large mech, standing a story taller than the surrounding buildings. A moment later, the scroll at his side started beeping furiously.

"I know, I know" said Lan as he quickly checked the screen, then ran off in the direction of the disturbance. He dodged, weaved, and parkoured through the crowd of people running away from the machine, noting on his scroll that members of the 4 guardians alliance and members of the Sumptuous Orchid were also on their way there. In fact, 1 member had already started fighting.

Identifying the individual to be on top of a nearby building, Lan quickly climbed up its fire escape and arrived on the roof just in time to see the machine swat what appeared a to be a drone out of the air.

"Ah, about time you arrived" came a wily man's voice from the far corner of the building.

Crouching on the ground was a wiry man with short whitish blonde hair and glasses, wearing a suit and trench coat. He was quickly tapping away on a device attached to his arm, which Lan believed controlled then various drones that were currently circling and shooting at the large robot. Lan identified him as Arnelle Eisenherz, the last member of the Sumptuous Orchid that he hadn't met and a crafty man who has been known to cause turf wars for his own benefit.

"I don't seem to have anything with high enough ordnance to pierce its armor" said Arnelle "Would you happen to have anything that could help?"

"Uh, will these work?" asked Lan who pulled a whole box of homemade explosives out of his backpack.

"…Quite" said Arnelle, adjusting his glasses "Quite."

He then tapped a few commands into his arm controller and most of the drones began to move in a way that diverted the battlemech's attention away from the rooftop where they were hiding. A few broke off from the swarm, and discreetly made their way to where Lan and Arnelle were.

"You've got a remote detonator for these, right?" asked Arnelle.

"Yup" said Lan who hucked it over to him.

"Then let's get to work, my drones are getting decimated faster than I thought."

The two then set to work strapping the bombs to the drones, with Arnelle muttering to himself the whole time about the cost to replace his drones. But they had barely finished arming 2 when Arnelle stiffened and said: "Shit, it's noticed us."

Lan turned his head a looked up to see the Robot's large red sensor focused on them.

"I got it, keep working" said Lan, who then jumped up onto the railing. This was the first time that he got a good look at the machine. From the waist up it was a large humanoid robot, both its arms however ended in long mechanical pincers. From the waist down its body resembled that of a tank. It seemed to be some kind of construction robot that had been heavily modified.

"Over here!" shouted Lan, who shot a few concussive orbs at its face. He then leapt off the roof of the building and shot a crystal chain into the adjacent building, quickly swinging out of the way of the robot's pincers, which swung down through the space where he had been. Lan then continued to swing around the area, avoiding the robot's pincers as best he could while also slinging crystal projectiles and concussive spheres whenever he could, but none of it seemed to do more than annoy it. Fortunately however, the machine began to follow him after it had destroyed the last of the drones.

"What's taking Arnelle so long?" thought Lan as he ran along the side of a building "Ugh, I regret not setting up some way to stay in contact before we started—Woah! Agh, gotta focus or I'll be a meat pie!"

The robot had destroyed the building he had been running on and had almost tripped him.

"Fighting something like this was so much easier in the dreamscape" thought Lan as he shot a chain into another nearby building. He had managed to pull the machine a good distance form where Arnelle was working, but it seemed as though this was also causing more property damage.

"Can't keep waiting. Should try to take it out myself." Thought Lan "No time to make something big though, need a chance to—"

His train of thought was interrupted by a sudden roar of machine gun fire. Alarmed, he detonated a concussive blast beneath his feet to quickly move out of the way, but as he spun around in midair, he discovered that it was not coming from the Robot. At the other end of the street, standing on what appeared to be a metal sheet was Tie Jiang. He was manning an enormous mounted gatling gun which was pumping out dozens of rounds per second, which slammed into the back of the robot like metal rain. The assault staggered the robot for a moment, but it quickly spun about on a pivot and began driving towards Tie while throwing what debris it could at him. Wood, concrete, and metal debris soared through the air and slammed into the large man, either shattering or bouncing right off him without him so much as wincing. This was due to Tie Jiang's semblance, which made him as durable as whatever material he was standing on, and since he was currently standing on a tempered Atlesian titanium allow plate, it would take something quite substantial to harm him. Unluckily for him a 150-ton giant robot plowing over him would be substantial enough. Luckily for him however, someone wearing an advanced looking combat exoskeleton leapt in front of the robot, planted their feet in the ground with anchors, held out both their hands, and met the machine's rush head on. The ground tore apart at her feet as she was pushed backwards, slowing the robot's momentum as shards or concrete and metal were sprayed all over the street while a large mound of debris formed behind them. The whole mound finally came to a stop just a few feet from Tie Jiang, who continued firing unabated at the robot's face.

"Alright, I got it!" came Sylvia's voice from within the suit. "Just need someone to—Woah! Need support now!"

The machine had lifted its arms and was about to bring them crashing down on Sylvia, but before it was able to do so its right arm was blasted out of the way with a high-pressure water cannon and its left arm was wrapped by a long metallic whip.

"I got the left locked down! Keep pressure on the other Kappa!" shouted Nthanda, whip in hand.

"Mhm" grunted Kappa, who leapt into the air, retracted himself into his shell, then began spinning like a Frisbee as a high-pressure water cannon mounted on his shell fired a continuous stream at the robot's other arm.

"Nice!" shouted Lan as he landed on the ground "Let's give em he—"

"Step back for second" came a haughty voice from behind him.

Heiran, whose heels were somehow audible even above the robot's treads grinding against the pavement, walked past Lan, her hands on her hips as she walked seductively up towards the machine.

She looked to both sides of the street and frowned.

"Those were some of my favorite boutiques" she said with an edge in her voice. She raised both her arms into the air, her palms glowing.

"If you think you can come into my territory and do whatever the **** you want! YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING!"

Suddenly, dozens of glowing orchids appeared in the air surrounding the machine.

"ABORT! ABORT!" shouted Sylvia as she and every other member of the Sumptuous Orchid dove for cover.

All at once, the glowing orchids converged on robot resulting in a massive purple explosion that sent Lan flying backwards into the air. The boy barely managed to throw out a grappling hook in time and hang on until the explosion finally ended.

Finally falling to the ground, he quickly turned his gaze back at the robot. It was not in good shape. The armor on its upper body was smoldering and melted in places, while the tank treads on its lower body appeared to be completely destroyed.

Heiran was standing where she had been earlier, panting heavily before fainting and falling to her knees. Sylvia quickly rushed forwards, caught her, and began looking after her.

Lan began to walk closer to check on the robot, but quickly backed away when it began to move again, albeit with more jerking motions, and sparks flying from where its armor had been breached.

"You guys take it from here, gotta get the princess home!" shouted Sylvia who picked up Heiran and carried her away.

The robot's sensor blipped back on a moment later and began getting a read on the surrounding area.

"Oh no you don't!" shouted Nthanda, who leapt off of the top of a nearby building. Her whip retracted and stiffened into the shape of a spear, which she rammed into the gap between the robot's neck and shoulders. "I'm gonna pry your gods damned head off!"

Her constant prying seemed to be having an effect on the robot's sensors, momentarily destabilizing it, but seeing as she was having no luck with the aforementioned prying off of the head, it was only a matter of time before it threw her off.

"Need to do something big." Thought Lan "Something that can severely damage it while she's distracting it."

Lan quickly thought through all the tools and abilities he had, but since he had handed off all of his dust to Arnelle a little while ago he didn't have anything strong enough to really damage it…No, there was one thing he could try.

"Hopefully grandpa doesn't kill me for this." He murmured as he raised both of his arms up with his palms spread wide. Closing his eyes, he spread out his spiritual energy for the first time in a while. He remembered back to his time in the dreamscape, where he could shape the world around him as he saw fit and attempted to pull at the threads of reality in the same way as he did then. Not surprisingly, they refused to budge, being much more solid here than those of dreams. But the boy refused to give up, hooking them around his fingers and pulling with all of the spiritual force he could muster. Little by he felt the threads begin to stretch and bend.

"Woah! Lan, what the heck are you doing!" Shouted Nthanda.

Lan opened his eyes and looked to his hands. It appeared as though space itself was stretching as he pulled it in the direction of the robot, almost like a bowstring or a rubber band. Manipulating it as he did in the dream world to warp reality around him seemed to be impossible, however if he simply put all his effort into pulling it in one direction…

"Nthanda! Keep it restrained for me!" shouted Lan, who continued to pull while slowly taking steps forwards. The concrete and metal buildings, the street, the air itself connected to the threads of reality he pulled began to crack and buckle, slowly being pulled in the direction of Lan's force. It was then that he began to feel the threads begin to snap, building up more and more towards a breaking point. Lan took a deep breath, smiled, then threw one last jolt of force into it as he flung his arms forwards.

With a shattering sound, the whole area around him was thrown towards the machine, flying forwards like a warped, shimmering ballista bolt.

"Nope!" shouted Nthanda as she saw the street hurtling towards her, she then pulled her spear out and leapt towards the nearest rooftop.

With her spear out of its neck, the robot quickly regained used of its sensors and quickly began scanning the area…just in time to see the enormous projectile that was a few meters away from it. The force slammed into it like a torrent of water, tearing apart its armor and destroying the last of the armaments it had left. Luckily for the street behind it, Heiran's earlier explosion had welded the robot to the ground forcing it to become a sort of wall which took on the full force of the attack. The attack slowly lost force bit by bit until it finally died down, but by then the robot had almost none of its external armor left, with much of its internal circuitry exposed or destroyed. But amazingly, it still seemed able to move to some extent.

"Oh 'pant' wow." Gasped Lan, as he collapsed onto one knee while clutching his chest and panting. "That thing is durable."

"Not for much longer~~" came Arnelle's cheerful voice from above. A second later, a dozen drones covered with elemental dust explosives flew down, each of them flying to a vital area of the robot's exposed circuitry. The man's face then split into a manic smile as he pressed the detonator. 12 small but powerful explosions followed, and after a moment of silence the robot's arm fell to the ground, soon followed by the other along with bits of torso, and finally the rest of the machine fell to pieces in a pile of debris.

"Wow…That was impressive" said Lan "How did you focus the blasts without causing massive explosions like we did?"

"Oh, that's simple demolition science. I simply added some—" started Arnelle.

"Hold up, something's moving" said Lan.

He saw something shaking under the pile of debris. A moment later what appeared to be a large black cylinder fell out of the pile, it's top popped open, and a what appeared to be an old man wearing goggles and a suit crawled out on his hands and knees.

He looked up, saw that he was surrounded, and quickly pulled out a gun.

"Gods damn it I'm not going down so—" he started

"Oshiri" came a voice from behind him. The poor man never stood a chance. He turned his gaze downwards just in time to see Kappa's hand flying upwards towards his ass.

"AGGGGGHHHHHHHH!"

His screamed filled the street as he began hopping up and down as Kappa, with his usual deadpan face, rummaged around down there. After a few seconds of this Kappa grunted and pulled his arm out, a red glowing sphere is his hands. At the very same moment, the man's aura broke and he fell forwards onto his face, which hit the hard concrete below.

"Hmmm, good aura" said Kappa who sniffed the sphere before proceeding to stick it up his own ass, completely replenishing his own aura.

"Agh, no" said the man in the suit, who gripped his ass as he tried to crawl away "you won't take me alive."

"I wouldn't be so sure" came a seductive voice from nearby.

Before the man could react, Dima, who had snuck up behind him, licked some blood off his bleeding forehead. The moment, this happened the man went rigid, completely unable to move.

"Now be a good a boy and drop the gun." Said Dima, with a sly smile. "After that, please cooperate while we tie you up."

Trembling, the man nodded and tossed the gun to the wayside as Lan ran forwards with some unbreakable Byakko hair ropes.

"So, we gonna interrogate him?" asked Lan as he gagged him.

"Of course we are, good technique by the way." Said Dima as she admired Lan's quick and efficient binding technique "We have plenty of methods available to us after all, by the end he'll be screaming with both pain…and pleasure."

Both Lan and the bound man trembled at these words, but their attention was quickly taken by the sudden sound of trampling boots. A moment later, dozens of combatants wearing black full body combat armor rushed in from one end of the street.

The bound man's face brightened as the new combatants formed rank in front of them, but then fell as the combatants moved to the sides to reveal a tall man wearing a black full body cloak on top of combat armor walking forwards slowly with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Hey, who the hell are you?" asked Dima.

The man stopped and looked at her before speaking in a deep raspy voice.

"May I speak with your leader?"

"Oh, uh well she's—" started Lan.

"Right here."

They turned to look in the direction of the new voice and found Heiran striding towards them in her usual manner, although her face was still a bit pale.

"You this guy's boss?" she said, indicating the bound and gagged man.

"Indeed, I am" said the cloaked man, who walked forwards. Sylvia moved as if to come between him and Heiran, but Heiran motioned for her to step away. The man came to stop right in front of Heiran, who looked defiantly up into his concealed eyes.

"My apologies" he said, taking a step back and bowing with his right arm on his chest.

Taken aback, Heiran simply stared at him as he straightened back up.

"The man is a member of our security team and overheard one of his superiors complaining about our designated business area being too small. He then took it into his hands to clear out new operating areas believing he could work his way into their good graces." He continued "Sadly, he did not read the rules given to us when we cleared for establishing a business in Amygdala. He had assumed that rules were of no consequence here since it was built with less than legal means. As a result, he didn't know that acquiring new turf could only be done through first submitting a request to the 4 guardians alliance for a turf war. And as a result of his brash decision, he has caused all this unnecessary property damage. I hope that you can forgive us for our transgression and continue to do business within these walls."

Heiran looked at the man for a moment, then shrugged her shoulders.

"All right, as long as you're all willing to take responsibility for this." She said, motioning to the destroyed street.

"But of course," said the tall man "We shall send the financial rumination to all affected parties within the next 72 hours…and as for the man in question."

The tall man walked over to the bound and gagged security agent, who was struggling and crying as the men around him held him down.

"He shall never bother you again."

In one fluid motion, the tall man's gauntlet extended out, transformed into a shotgun barrel and splattered the prisoner's head all over the street.

"Was that really necessary?" said Heiran, as Lan stared at the scene stock still, his right eye twitching.

"We find it is most efficient to dispose of weak links the moment they appear." Said the man. "Now then, if there isn't anything else that needs addressing, we shall be on our way."

"Wait right there." Said Heiran who held up her hand.

"Ah, that's right, the fee for disturbing alliance members." Said the tall man who tossed a thick stack of lien to Heiran.

"Not that, although I will take this thank you." Said Heiran, who caught it one handed and tucked it into her cleavage. "You never stated your name."

"Very well" said the man, who turned around. He then gave a curt bow and said "Executioner is the name I am known as. The moniker given to me by our leader."

"Who's that?" asked Heiran.

"We call him Head." Said Executioner, "Sadly he is not in Amygdala at this time, he will be taking care of other matters on the continents for a time, and until then I have been appointed head of operations in this area, so if there are any other concerns you may have please direct them to me."

Heiran stared at him for a moment, then sighed and motioned for him to leave.

The individuals in the area relaxed, as the tension in the air finally dispelled…Too bad for them.

"BAHAHAHAHA, WHERE ARE THE BADGUYS!" came a booming voice from above.

Almost everyone whipped their heads upwards to stare in the direction of the voice while Lan covered his face in his hands while mumbling "Oh no".

Standing on the nearest rooftop, wearing nothing but his wrestling mask and purple wrestling speedo…and his body hair which covered him so thoroughly that it could arguably be his clothing as well.

His eyes lit up as he spotted the large number of armed men.

"Enemy spotted!" he shouted, then leapt down from the roof down to Lan's side and shouted "Execute operation Blazing Victory!"

"Wait no grandpa they're not—!" started Lan

Before he could finish, the old man grabbed the boy's hand, forced it into his pocket, and made him pull out a lighter. Those experienced with dealing with the old man immediately dove for covered while the Executioner and his men merely stared at the old man blankly.

"Less words" said Byakko, as he manipulated Lan's muscles to make the boy flick on the lighter and hold it up to the old man's rear end which was now pointed at the armed men. "More fire!"

Lan squeaked in fright as he barely managed to pull on a welding mask in time. Executioner, who finally realized the danger, used his semblance disappear in a puff of black smoke

Now, if you were standing at the highest point in the city, what you would have seen would be a brief flash of light followed by an enormous stream of fire completely filling the street for several blocks from its origin point. Which was the exact scene Testsu saw as right as he was about to enjoy a relaxing drink with his wife.

And yes, the scene was far more traumatizing and deadly from up close.

"Ahhhh" said Byakko, who took a deep as the flames erupting from his rear sputtered and died "You smell that? That's the smell of victory!"

"Ugh." Moaned Lan as he dropped the lighter and the welding mask crumbled to pieces as his aura shattered "Smells worse than death."

"Don't worry they'll live" said Byakko who looked down the burning street at the bodies lying all around "Probably."

"Dad! Again?!" came an angry voice from above. A moment later Tetsu, who was wearing a set of casual robes, came crashing down.

"Hey son! I beat the bad guys." Said Byakko, who waved happily as his son as he finally released his grip on Lan and the boy sunk face first onto the ground.

"You just caused 10 times more damage than they did and—"

Tetsu's scroll buzzed, and when he looked at it his face grew even more angry.

"And those guys weren't even enemies anymore! They had just agreed to pay for the damage they caused and executed the perpetrator."

"Oh, whoops my bad" said Byakko as he smiled awkwardly.

"I tried to tell you" said Lan weakly, as he raised a trembling arm into the air, his face still down on the ground.

"Well, in that case I'll pay for the damages myself" said Byakko, who tossed a wooden totem over to Tetsu, "That'll let you take as much as you need from my treasure horde as you need, just make sure you show it to my guards back at the valley."

Tetsu covered one side of his face with his hand and sighed. "Fine, Fine, but I'm going to have to ask you leave for a little while, at least until we get things back under control. We can't afford you causing another incident when we're still dealing with this one. "

"Got it" said Byakko, "Was about time the boy and I left anyway."

He then picked Lan up off the ground and held him up to eye level.

"I know you did it." He said with a dangerous smile.

"D-did what" said Lan, who began to sweat.

Byakko brought Lan's ear very close to his mouth then whispered.

"You used your spirit powers…I can smell it."

Lan swallowed a hard lump in his throat, took a deep breath, then closed his eyes.

"Make it quick." He whispered, and braced for impact.

"Boop" said Byakko who gently tapped him on the forehead.

Lan blinked in surprise.

"Don't worry boy, I ain't gonna hurt ya" said Byakko, who set the boy back on the ground.

"I sensed you used you powers back when I was pile driving a guys face into his partner's bum." Said Byakko "And I didn't sense any of the energies of the boundary. That means you've finally anchored yourself! This is a cause for celebration!"

"Oh, that's gre—" started Lan

"Which is why I'm taking you to one of my favorite taverns in Solitas! Best Icicle Wine in the World!" said Byakko, who seized the boy in a headlock. "Then after that, we'll head further north, and we'll spend your 11th birthday at Glacier Keep, where you will meet my sister!"

"In blood or in everything but blood?" choked Lan.

"The latter!" shouted Byakko, "But let's head to the tavern for now! We can come back and pick the house up later! Now, let's break that sound barrier!"

"NO, WAIT!" screamed Lan "MY AURA'S EMPTY!"

"Hold it right there!" said Tetsu, who grabbed his father by the shoulder.

"You are not causing a sonic boom in town!" he said, as Lan's shoulders dropped in relief. "Get to the docks, and do it there."

"Alright, alright, well say bye for me to the other leaders" said Byakko as Lan began meditating to pull spiritual energy from the surrounding area to quickly recover his aura. This looked as though small glowing dots of energy were being pulled into the boy. "Oh, and I better get Fuji back home while we're on this little escapade, wouldn't want to worry Chiyo."

Byakko and Testsu then shook hands and went their separate ways, with Lan hoping that he would have recovered enough aura by the time they reached the docks to survive the trip.

3 hours later, Executioner's home base

The man was sitting in a dark room, with only the light of the communications terminal in front of him allowing any of his features to be visible.

"And that concludes my report"

"I see" came a heavily modulated voice from the terminal. "Well, luckily it seems that the anomaly will be leaving the city for a while, so after you've paid for the damages continue with regular operations."

"Of course," said Executioner, who bowed while sitting.

"And we've finally received information on what we were searching for" came the voice. A moment later a picture was uploaded onto the screen, on it were 4 stone pillars surrounding a Stone tablet with a metal bowl at its feet.

Meeting Kerry Thursday for a chat, I feel like a lot will be answered for me there. On what I should continuing doing, and what I should give up on.
