Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.
A/N: Cliche title, is cliché, I got it teehee but anyway several years later like maybe two years after the defeat of calamity ganon.

It still bothered him, no matter how he looked at it, it just bothered him. Link watched as little Prince Sidon swam in the reservoir that hid the Divine Beast, Vah Ruta. He just couldn't fathom how Prince Sidon from the future could, he stopped his train of thought. No Prince Sidon was still a kid and way too young for him to even be thinking about this, about what future Prince Sidon had told him. How could he miss a family he never had, he sighed before he realized that little Sidon was now no where to be seen. He jolted as the young Prince suddenly sat down beside him.
"Are you going to be family soon?" He asked.
"What? I uh.." Link sputtered, he guessed she must have told him about the armor. He remembered the day she had presented it to him, she told him what it meant to accept it before she allowed him to decide. Link frowned as he remembered that day, it had put a huge rift in their friendship. Even King Dorephan wasn't talking to him, he really made them mad when he told Mipha that he just wanted to stay friends. Link eventually, reluctantly, shook his head.
"Why not? Do you not like Mipha? Do you not like me?" Sidon asked.
"I do like Mipha, as a friend," Link replied. He watched as Prince Sidon seemed to think it over, then the little one nodded.
"When I grow up, we can be a family," Prince Sidon said, he sounded very sure of that decision. "Will you wait for me to grow up?"
"Sidon do you even know what you are asking him?" It was Mipha. He looked back, surprised to see her there. She looked at him but looked away just as quickly, it was clear she was still very hurt by his decision. "He will be old when you are finally old enough."
"I don't care about that," Sidon said. "I just want him to be family, he belongs here as family."
"Oh Sidon," Mipha sighed, picking little Sidon up. Sidon was pouting now, he looked so unhappy with her answer.
"I can't promise I can wait that long Sidon," Link said. "But if I am still not part of a family, I will continue to come visit." He watched as Mipha gave him a surprised look, then she looked at him through narrowed eyes as though she might have figured out something. Sidon cheered up a bit at that, his pout turning into a mini smile.
"Promise?" he asked.
"I promise," Link replied, honestly. He gave a very wide and charming grin, he remembered getting one that was similar from Future Sidon. Link's face heated a little at how cute little Sidon was, in that moment. Sidon was so happy he nearly wiggled free of Mipha's arms, she quickly set him down in her surprise and he ran off at full speed toward the domain.
"Well," Mipha said, clearly attempting to make conversation now that Sidon was gone. "Are you humoring him? Or are you serious?" she finally asked.
"I have something to tell you," Link said, patting the spot beside him. She sat down and looked at him, she looked as though she were puzzled. "You remember Sidon from the future?" She nodded and he took a breath. "Well.. he told me that he and I were a couple. That we had a little girl together, he told me everything that had transpired in the future. He told me I was.. I was hurt so badly when Calamity Ganon was unleashed. That I had spent a hundred years healing, he said I had told him that. But he saw me first hand taming the Divine Beast, Vah Ruta, that your spirit piloted in the future. And when I defeated Calamity Ganon and after several visits, he had finally confessed and that the me in the future accepted his feelings."
"I can't believe it," Mipha interrupted, surprised. He looked over to see her looking away from him now. "It all makes sense now, you don't feel the same about me as I do you because." She looked at him, her expression was almost pitying and he didn't like that. "I thought it was because.. I was the wrong species, but in truth, it's because.. I am the wrong gender." She sounded close to tears.
"Mipha, I.." Link began.
"No, don't.." Mipha said, softly. "I understand now, I just need.. time to think." She stood and turned to leave but stopped. "Thank you, for confiding in me." And then she walked away, leaving Link there sitting with his feet in the water. He couldn't help but feel like he was the largest asshole in all of Hyrule, but maybe that was too close to the truth. Link rubbed his face, why couldn't he just be normal and like girls like they liked him?
Tomorrow he would be leaving and he already knew where he would be heading. Despite how much he hated having to go there and deal with the pompous ass, he had to talk to Revali. It didn't matter how many times he tried to forget what Revali had done to him, he couldn't and it was time for them to talk about it. At least, that is what he told himself every time he went and yet every time.. he choked when faced with the other male.

"Sidon, bid them farewell," Mipha told her brother, gently. Little Prince Sidon looked as though he wanted to cry, it was so adorable and heartbreaking. Link almost didn't want to leave but he knew he had to, they had a very important negotiation meeting in Rito Village. Well Princess Zelda had important negotiations in Rito Village, he had an important talk. Sidon was hiding behind Mipha, as though hiding would stop them from going anywhere.
"Parting is such sweet sorrow," he didn't know who said those words. The voice was not one he was familiar with, he looked around but they did not repeat the phrase or say anything else.
"I will miss our talks," Princess Zelda told Mipha.
"As will I," She offered, before looking at Link. He looked down at Sidon still hiding, he really wished he could offer the little zora prince some comfort. Zelda was the first to turn and walk away, Link sadly turned to follow her. The pitter-patter of tiny feet suddenly rushed to him and he felt little Sidon grab his leg. He looked at Sidon and smiled, he knew the other wanted him to stay but he couldn't.
"You're coming back? You promised," Sidon accused, more than asked. Link turned and knelt so that he could look Sidon in the eyes, he knew it was important to try and comfort the little one somehow.
"I will come back," Link promised. He pulled out a locket his father had given to him, it was a gift from his mother for him to recieve after he was born but she didn't make it. "Here, this was once my Mother's, my father gave it to me and now I am giving it to you as a promise that I will return. I know saying farewell feel's awful right now but we say farewell today, so that we can say hello another." He watched as Sidon's eyes lit up at the gift and as the young prince put it on, he flashed Link his biggest smile yet. Link kissed him on the top of his head and gave him a little nudge back to his sister. The little prince went back to her and waved at them. Link stood, gave a wave of his own and turned to follow the Princess. It was going to be a long silent journey and he really wasn't looking forward to it.
