Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.

A/N: Sorry guys all I know about festivals is games and food. XD. If I missed any activities please let me know.. oh I should totally add Face painting yeah? Well there's a few more days worth of Festivities and there's still the singing I forgot about too so maybe they will listen to some music next chappie or something. Oo I just thought of something great for a later chappie too!

I wish I knew what y'all are thinking sometimes. Writing and not getting any feedback is a little depressing, ah well. Hope you guys are doing well and enjoying the story so far. :( I know it prolly doesn't make any sense but yeah. Also anytime you see Link hug Revali or whatnot it stems from my want to to touch him tbh. Seriously though don't just wonder what it would be like to run your fingers along those feathers? Just to see how soft they are? Mmm tempting.

Warriors of a Feather, Stick Together

A Nesting We Will Go!

=~;~=

The next day Revali woke rather early, he went and gathered the materials he would need then set about making the nest basket. Of course, he knew that he was missing the morning greeting but this was slightly more important than that. He had decided, that Link could nest in the room he had made inside of Vah Medoh. He had sort of half constructed it, in case he ever decided to move into the Divine Beast himself. It did after all have great views from the tail of the beast. And if constructed correctly the room would break a lot of the wind when it moves through Vah Medoh, so that way the nest wouldn't be lost in transit. Of course, he hadn't had time to really test if the room would break enough of the wind but that wouldn't matter so much during the courting process. He didn't plan to move Vah Medoh anytime soon, especially not with the festival so close at wing.

The festival was in honor of all of them, him, Link and all the other pilots. It was even to honor Princess Zelda for her part, in the defeat of the Calamity. The festivities would be grand but he had something else, that needed to be done, before he could join in the festivities. He quickly located Link and swooped down, he then landed in front of the other male.

"Revali!" Link said, surprised. "I was looking for.." Revali felt happy about that but interrupted the champion by pulling him along the until they reached the shop. "Revali.. What..?"

"Excuse me, do you happen to have any nest pillows?" Revali asked.

"Ah yes actually, made with freshly shed baby down," the shopkeeper replied. "Sold to me this morning."

"I'm purchasing them as a gift," Revali replied, giving Link a little push forward. "To him."

"Oh! I see," the shopkeeper grinned. Before leading Link over to the pillows, showing them to him. He watched as Link nodded a bit, then gathered them up at the shopkeeper's insistence. Revali made the purchase, before also purchasing a very large carry basket with a rope handle. The basket would be large enough to carry, not only the pillows, but Link as well. He grinned a bit, as he thought of how much the other might protest. Once outside the shop he led Link to a platform, where he instructed the other to put the pillows in and then to get in.

"Wait, you want me in the basket too?" Link asked confused.

"Yes, this basket was made to carry things and even people to and from places," Revali explained. "You will understand, when you see where I am carrying you to."

"Fine but after that you need to explain to me.. why they are decorating," Link said, suddenly very distracted.

"I will," Revali replied. Link climbed into the basket, he had Link hold up the rope to make it easier for him to grab in his talons before he lifted off and did just that. It was actually a little bit more difficult to fly with the basket but the winds around Rito Village easily lifted him and in turn it from the ground. He decided against using his signature move, as he wasn't sure if the basket or the rope would be strong enough. It was several moments before he finally lowered the basket onto the Divine Beast, then landed. Link hopped out and was about to say something to him, when something caught his eye. He moved past Revali to the nest basket and ran his fingers over it.

Revali joined him but decided to only watch, as the other admired his craftsmanship. He had left it in plain view, just to see Link's reaction to it. He couldn't help the swell of pride then, his potential mate was happy with his work.

"You made this?" Link asked. Revali nodded, he didn't really need to say anything, in fact saying something might ruin the whole moment. "And you bought the nest pillows for me?"

"Yes, this way you have your own personal nest here, when you visit," Revali replied, he hoped the other male wouldn't take it the wrong way. He then took the nest basket and moved it into the room, where it would remain.

"Will you help me with it?" Link asked. He was taken aback by that, the whole point was to do things properly, then again if he did help then it would be his scent. He was about to decline, when Link suddenly thrust a pillow into his wings. "Come on, it's better if we both put them." He smiled a bit but in his head he kept hearing how improper this was, he attempted to look at it differently however. As he helped with the placement of a couple of the pillows and Link placed the last two but somehow, he felt as if he had just built a nest with Link for them. "I know you would probably say this wasn't proper but.. I honestly had no idea how the pillows went, so I appreciate the help." Revali felt his feathers ruffling a bit so he preened a few of them to alleviate the tension, what was it about Link's voice that caused this reaction? Or maybe it was the context, he decided against analyzing it too much.

"I didn't mind," Revali said, he hoped his voice didn't sound too stiff. He cleared his throat before remembering the festival, he explained to Link what it was for and who all was being celebrated. Of course Link knew why, so he didn't have to explain that.

"This is a new festival then?" Link asked.

"Of course," Revali answered. "I actually didn't agree with them making a huge fuss over it, but I was outvoted." Link laughed a bit at that and Revali felt a little heat rise in his face. He flinched when Link suddenly hugged him but after a few moments, he decided to rest his cheek on Link's head.

"If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't have voted against you," Link said.

"We still would have been outvoted," Revali reasoned.

"Yes but by less," Link replied, the other male had yet to release him and he was worried that passing Rito might get the wrong idea. "I was thinking, well actually I wanted to ask you something."

"Ask away," Revali replied, eager to have the distraction.

"How do you keep your feather's so soft," Link asked. Revali hadn't expected that and honestly, he didn't really think his feathers were softer than any other Rito's but he wouldn't know. He then worried about whether Link had hugged any other Rito.

"I.. preen them," Revali replied. "Though I do not think preening them keeps them soft, either way, I do not do anything out of the ordinary to keep them soft." He felt Link nuzzle against him, then suddenly the male disappeared into the makeshift room and laid on the nest. He was going to ask what Link was doing, when the other walked back over and hugged him again. "Really.." He whispered, exasperated.

"You are definitely softer than the pillows," Link replied, the hylian's voice slightly muffled by his feather's. Link then released him and walked toward the edge, looking out over the village. He definitely needed to start courting Link soon, he just hoped the other male would make up his mind. "How will I know what I would.. What I would need to do to accept you. Even though I saw what those two had done, what do I need to pay attention to?" Link turned to face him, his heartbeat sped up at that.

"You would just need to watch the basic steps," Revali said. "The first few times at least, you will stand and/or turn to watch my display. But you will be watching what I do with my claws. I do not mind if I must display multiple times of course, so long as you continue to display interest."

"As in watch you?" Link asked. Revali nodded, he was moving closer a step or so here and step or two there.

"When the one being courted stops showing an interest, it means they are either done watching the performance all together or that they are done for that day," Revali replied. "When the one being courted losses interest entirely, she will stop watching the performance and turn away on purpose. This usually means the male courting, has been rejected." He didn't really want to tell Link how to reject him, in fact, he hoped the other would not reject him. Revali suddenly felt very nervous, would Link allow him to even try?

Link couldn't help but feel the other's closeness, those soft feather's just out of reach, he didn't know why but wanted to touch them. And to keep touching them, today, tomorrow and next week. He let out a breath, Revali had moved inches closer again. If he wasn't careful he would be trapped against this wall with no where to go, not that Revali would do that on purpose. "When will you.. start.. the courting I mean?"

"You.. want me to?" Revali asked but then he cleared his throat and looked almost like the old Revali, only with out the harsh tone in his voice. "Ehem tomorrow, i-in the morning, today we should attend the festival." He smiled, wondering if the rito male had a bit of performance anxiety. Maybe rito just couldn't perform right then there, maybe the warrior needed to prep first and then he wondered if this would be the other male's first time, performing his own dance in front of another. It was a good possibility, Revali was a fairly young adult in his appearance anyway.

"Okay," Link replied. "Let's go see what the festival has to offer." He watched as the rito nodded and a slight smile appeared at the corner's of his beak. He wondered why he had never noticed that Rito could smile before, maybe Revali just rarely smiled. Link grinned and followed Revali to the edge, he was sort of thankful that he always kept his para-sail on him while in the Village. After all, he never knew when he would need it and now was definitely one of those times.

"Tomorrow," Revali said, suddenly. "Meet me on top of Vah Medoh." He looked over to see Revali was looking at him and he smiled.

"I will," Link replied. Revali then leapt off of the edge and flew down to the village. Link on the other hand, took a running start then jumped, pulling out his para-sail and gliding down easily. He met up with Revali who walked with him around the Village, Link was fascinated by just about everything they had set up. He did however notice that Revali was much less enthusiastic about it, until they found the archery game. Link laughed a bit the first time Revali tried it, the rito warrior hadn't really expected the targets to start moving in the middle of the game and had missed one of the targets. He watched as the flustered rito warrior tried again, redeeming himself in the second game.

Link tried the game was well but after about two or three rounds, he completely gave up on the perfect score. Plus he was a little miffed at how much his failures made the rito warrior laugh. At least it was an honest laugh, he hadn't really heard the other male laugh at anything. In fact, he had doubted that Revali found anything funny at all, until today.

Link grabbed Revali and dragged him along to get food, after the other had stopped laughing at his failures. Once they had purchased their various food choices, they took a seat in the inn. Link hadn't nearly smiled this much and especially not in Revali's presence, though the other male wasn't being nearly as harsh with him as he had been before. He also realized the other was putting up with his antics, better than before. Then again he had never really been this physical with Revali before, well before he had slept in the same nest as the other male, twice. He thought back to the nest basket that Revali had made him, did that mean he would be sleeping on his own tonight? In Vah Medoh? He didn't know why but even sleeping there, within the divine beast seemed really intimate to him. And tomorrow he would be meeting Revali on top of the old bird, he looked up to see Revali watching him and his heart started to beat a little faster. His ears felt like they were on fire so he felt them just in case, nope they weren't actually on fire.

"So, how do you like the festival so far," the voice belonged to Impa. Link jumped a little in his surprise, he hadn't expected anyone else to come. When he looked behind Impa he saw the other's there as well, Urbosa, Daruk, Mipha and even Princess Zelda.

"You all.." Revali said, Link looked over to see that Revali had moved closer to him to make room as the other champions seemed determined to join them.

"Yes, I hope you don't mind but I invited them," Zelda said as she sat down. Mipha sat to Link's other side, then Daruk and Urbosa sat next to Zelda and then there was Impa. It wasn't long until the space was filled with individual conversations, he chanced a peek at Revali to see the other male was most definitely frowning.

"Well this was unexpected," Link said, in an attempt to break the warrior's silence. Several of the other's stopped to look at him, in their surprise.

"I didn't realize you could talk, little guy," Daruk suddenly shouted, a giant grin on his face.

"It.. didn't seem appropriate to talk," Link replied.

"You could have at least said one word!" Impa accused. It was clear she was a little upset, he rubbed the back of his neck.

"I always knew he could talk," Mipha said, softly. "He would always talk to me, when we were younger."

"I was surprised when I had first heard him talk as well," Revali said. "But now it's as if he has never stopped." Link felt his face heat up, he didn't know the subject of his talking, would be such a hot topic.

"I always assumed he could talk," Urbosa chimed in. "I always figured he just didn't want to."

"You knew he could talk too Princess?" Daruk asked.

"Of course," she replied.

"Why didn't anyone tell me?" Daruk said, dejectedly. "We could have had so many great conversations! Especially about Rock Roast, you did like it right."

"Yeah," Link replied, nodding. "It was delicious." He looked over to see Revali eyeing him with concern.

"Yes it is," Daruk said, matter-of-factually. The conversation soon diverged away, as each of the champions got caught up on recent developments and eventually devolved into a drinking party. So much for checking out the rest of the games and of course they insisted that he and Revali drink as well. He decided to only limit himself to a couple of drinks, despite the others trying to get him to drink more. For Revali on the other hand, the other's had obviously gotten the better of him as he had continued to drink. It was quite the while before they all finally went their separate ways, Link however stayed with Revali and made sure he made it back to his home.

"It's like I.." Revali paused briefly. "Do not learn."

"Well at least I am helping you get back home," Link mentioned. Revali was silent then, up until they finally reached his.. nest? Roost? Link wasn't sure what the rito called their little nooks, if he was being honest with himself.

"Stay with me," the rito warrior said. Link laid Revali down in his nest bed.

"Even after all that work of making me a nest and helping put it together?" he asked. Revali frowned, he either had forgotten or had hoped Link would have.

"But it's a difficult climb and yer drunk," Revali reasoned.

"I only had two," Link replied. "Besides I am much more sober than you."

"Please," Revali murmured. Link sighed, clearly the other didn't want him to risk the climb or maybe he was just trying to have one more night with Link.

"You said, in your own words," Link began. "That this wasn't proper and if I had my own nest to sleep in, you would feel much better." Revali looked away, it was obvious the other was drunk and overly emotional. "Besides I still have to meet you on top of Vah Medoh tomorrow. Are you still sure that you want me to stay?"

"Just until I am asleep," Revali whispered. Link smiled at that, he climbed in with Revali and laid with him. He took this chance, to run his fingers through Revali's feather's and really feel their warmth and softness. Once he was sure the other was asleep, he snuck out of the nest bed, gathered his things from the inn and made his way up to Vah Medoh. Once there he entered, set down his things and plopped himself unceremoniously into the nest bed, at least it was comfortable. In fact, it was much more comfortable than the inn beds but maybe that was because Revali had made the basket part. He wasn't sure but soon found himself drifting off, regardless.
