Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.
A/N: I just had to separate this into two chapters as the other one was getting a little long and I wanted to make sure everyone gets home and maybe have some more conversation hehe. Forgive me for not saying what kind of knot, also I know nothing about knots but if you do, let me know what kind of knot would work if any would lol. Just know it's secure!

Warriors of a Feather, Stick Together
Vah Medoh Express!?

Revali collected several lengths of rope from his old roost, he would eventually need to move everything else and allow another rito the chance to move in. He would miss it but not too much, so long as he had a roost on Vah Medoh. He wasn't sure what the Divine Beast actually ran on but he would always tend it as necessary. Revali then flew up to their nest, checked the room itself and repositioned the nest basket to one corner. It would be much easier to secure the basket itself this way, the problem would be the contents. He moved the blankets over the toy and tucked the ends between the pillows. He then focused on securing the basket to the walls using two points on each side so the wind wouldn't be able to lift it then securing two more points into the corner itself to keep it from sliding around and lifting there as well.
"You moved it," He stood up and looked over the wall at Link who suddenly threw a net over the whole nest. "Oh good, it's big enough." He flipped his tail a bit as he came around, the net was actually a great idea. He nodded and took one of the ropes then began looping it through the net, Link grabbed the other end and he looked over to see the Hylian had guessed at what he was doing and grinned. He flipped his tail a bit more as he went back to what he was doing and met Link around the front. Revali took Link's end and tightened the whole thing pulling the net taut around the top and making a cinch around the smaller part of the nest. He then tightened it and knotted it so it would hold everything in place.
"The net is a good addition," Revali said.
"Wish you had thought of it?" Link asked.
"I'm just glad you did," Revali answered. "The netting is strong and the spaces will not allow anything to escape." He would never have admitted it before but he would now. "We make a great team." He felt Link running his hand through his feathers, he couldn't express just how enjoyable it was but decided to preen the other in response. "Well, we shall see if Vah Medoh decides to allow our nest to stay, let's get the other's home." Link nodded against him before pulling away, he followed Link to the updraft allowing Link to traverse it first before joining him at the top.
The others had been air lifted by other Rito who remained, he motioned them over and gave them their orders. They would stay and make sure everyone made it back to the ground, once Vah Medoh was within range of their respective homes. He then connected with Vah Medoh, he smiled as he remembered this feeling. The interfacing was much different as a pilot, it was as though he and Vah Medoh were one. He could start every different aspect, almost at will.
"It's been a while," he said to the Divine Beast. "Help me get everyone home, hmm?" the Divine Beast screeched in answer, then he could feel the gears turning and the propellers pushing the wind beneath them. It was mere moments of everything kicking on and then they were airborne, flying away toward the desert that Urbosa called home.
"I'm surprised the Divine Beasts still work," It was Urbosa. "I thought they might stop working after the Calamity's defeat. Even Vah Naboris is still able to be piloted."
"It's probably because we are still alive," Revali reasoned. "They are, in a sense, machines and when bonded to a pilot they just continue on. Though it is only just a guess. Even Terrako, that little guardian that usually follows Princess Zelda everywhere, is till working I am certain."
"I'm surprised you remember it's name," Urbosa teased.
"Of course I remember, it is an impossible name to forget, considering," Revali replied, slightly irritated. He couldn't forget the little menace and his playmate Impa even if he wanted to, the little fool had the audacity to use him as a wall. Urbosa was laughing, he wondered if she had remembered too.
"Oh I see, you committed it's name to memory," Urbosa stated, she sobered a bit. "Was it because it tried to hide from Impa behind you?"
"One of the reasons," he replied. "The other time, I had insulted Link but it thought I was insulting it, it had a go at me and Link for that. That was when I had first met Link, or at least after I had first met Link."
"I see, it must have been terribly funny to watch," Urbosa said.
"I.. well.." He wasn't really sure how to respond to that one. "It was ridiculous to be scolded by a tiny guardian." He smiled a bit, honestly what even was that thing saying. His eyes opened wide as he was suddenly hugged, he looked down to see Link and smiled more.
"Oh we really do need to discuss when you two will be going on your honeymoon," Urbosa said.
"Honeymoon?" Link asked.
"Yes, honeymoon," Urbosa replied. "I was telling him and the others, the other day, that you two should come to the oasis for your honeymoon. But I believe Mipha wants you to have a sort of reception in the Domain before that. It would be a good time to bring you two your wedding gifts after all." He felt Link hold him a little tighter at that, he wasn't sure if the other male was nervous about that or excited.
"She is right of course, it is something to think about," Revali said. "I personally am not sure about Princess Zelda's idea, however."
"Oh she changed her mind about that one after seeing both of you today," Urbosa replied. "She is planning on having a small party to celebrate instead."
"That would be two.." Link said then paused.
"Don't worry about the details right now," Urbosa assured. "Zelda already agreed, along with Mipha, that you would get to decide the when and where. Then your honeymoon will be you and Revali's to share alone." Revali felt Link nodding against his feather's, he was paying more attention to the Divine Beast now but he could still feel and hear everything around him. He wrapped one wing around Link, they were almost to the desert and it was then he realized. It would be dark by the time they return everyone else to their homes and it would be unwise to fly all the way back in the dark. Of course that was a worry for later, for now he would just focus on the task at wing. "Well, well looks like we're here, thanks for the lift Revali. I'll remember this gesture of kindness." He nodded with a small smile, as he slowed Vah Medoh's speed over the Gerudo City. Urbosa caught a ride down, he waited for the rito to return to Vah Medoh before setting the Divine Beast on a path to the castle. Revali caught snippets of conversation from the champions but Princess Zelda was now being oddly quiet. He looked to see her watching the scenery as they passed it, she seemed entirely entranced by it. They left the desert and crossed forests, mountains and many other landmarks along the way. Meanwhile the sun was getting closer to the horizon, Revali was keeping a close eye on it.
"Ah, there it is," Zelda had stopped admiring the scenery and had come to join them. "Before I go, I just want to let you know, you are both welcome to come visit anytime. And Link don't forget to write!"
"I won't," Link said, the other male was now just standing beside him. He wondered if the his hylian had been cold earlier, either way he hadn't minded. Revali slowed Vah Medoh near the castle and Zelda departed with one of his kin. He waited for the other to return before heading toward Death Mountain, he was surprised to notice that Vah Rudania was on the outskirts.
"Hey Revali just drop me off with old Rudania," Daruk said. "That way you can head straight for the domain a little faster, I can just pilot Rudania back home." Revali nodded, he was a little thankful, that he wouldn't have to endure the intense heat coming from Death Mountain. Rito were not built for the molten climate and ember filled air, he honestly didn't understand how Link had withstood such a place. He slowed Vah Medoh near Vah Rudania and Daruk departed. He briefly watched as Rudania started off toward Death Mountain, Daruk hadn't even waited for the rito to assist him, so he didn't wait long and instead started off in the direction of Zora's Domain. Daylight was most definitely waning as they finally reached the domain, it was a bright symbol, a luminous city. And it showed it's splendor especially well in the dark, it was breath-taking and beautiful.
"Revali," Mipha's soft voice called. He looked over at her, she was her usual soft spoken and shy self. "You, Link and the others can stay in the domain tonight." He looked around at the other's, only to see hopeful looks in the other rito's eyes. Link was smiling but not really listening to the conversation, as his attention was now elsewhere.
"That's a good idea," Revali replied. "Thank you, we will take you up on the offer."
"Fantastic, I can show you a good spot to perch Vah Medoh," Mipha said. He followed her instruction and perched Vah Medoh near the domain, then everyone else departed to the domain leaving he and Link on Vah Medoh. Link was looking out over the domain, it was clear the other was tentative to go down there but he wasn't sure why.
"He's going to be mad at me," Link said, looking at him.
"Oh? Why would he be mad?" Revali asked.
"He wanted me to be part of his family," Link replied, blushing. He couldn't help the agitation, he flipped his tail to try to relieve the fluffing of his feather's and tried to remember that Sidon was very young yet.
"Well he is very young, yes?" Revali reasoned. "He may not yet understand, what he's asking for."
"Sometimes, I'm not so sure," Link replied. "Sometimes, he seems really mature for his age."
"Yes well seeming mature and being mature, are two separate matters," he teased. "No matter how mature he seems, he is still just a hatchling." Link nodded and headed for the edge, he watched as the other made the leap and used the para-sail to glide down to the domain. It didn't take Revali long to catch up, he slowed his descent to match Link's once he was close. But as they got closer he spotted a tiny zora standing beside Mipha, that must be Sidon he reasoned. A small glint drew his eyes to a locket, that looked out of place on a zora but he didn't think much of it. He landed beside his mate and watched as the tiny zora rushed Link, grabbing onto his pant leg.
"You came to visit!" Sidon said, excitedly. He flashed the most adorable, charming little grin and then looked at him skeptically. "Oh I kept your treasure safe!" he said showing the locket, Revali started a bit at that.
"Sidon, this is Revali," Link introduced him. The little hatchling looked at him through narrow eyes, he looked very unhappy with him but he wasn't sure why.
"Are you the one who took Link away?" Sidon asked, bluntly.
"Now what ever would give you that idea?" he asked.
"Because Link won't be family," Sidon replied, he seemed really sad. Revali knelt, he wanted to offer some reassurance.
"He may not be family but that doesn't mean he will abandon you," Revali explained. "I will even make sure, that he makes it here to come and visit you often, that I promise." Sidon seemed to cheer up at that. "And when I'm gone, then you can keep him company, okay? He will need lots of company though, think you can do that?"
"Yeah!" Sidon replied. He was so cute, he could almost understand why Link would have mated with future Sidon, almost. He was still a bit jealous but deep down, he knew he wouldn't live nearly as long as Link and he couldn't stand the thought of the other male being alone. He looked up to see Mipha, she was clearly a bit torn by something but he didn't know what.
"Sidon why don't you show Link your new swimming technique?" Mipha suggested, suddenly. The little hatchling nodded and pulled at the hylian excitedly. He watched as the two headed off with Link laughing a bit at Sidon's enthusiasm. "That promise with Sidon.. Does that mean, that you won't always be around for Link?"
"I know I won't be able to," Revali replied. "We rito do not live nearly as long, as the Hylian do and I am not willing to leave Link entirely alone for the remainder of his days. He will definitely outlive me."
"So Sidon will have to mend his broken heart, if he still wishes to be with Link.. when he grows up," Mipha said, softly. "And to think, Link had no interest in women. I never thought that would be an issue. If Sidon has no interest, then I will try to mend his wounds. I will always be there, to heal him." He looked to Mipha to see her concern, it was obvious she really did care for Link and it almost made him feel a little guilty. It was almost as though she treasured their closeness, even though she could never have him the same way that Revali had him.
"I'm sure you will," Revali replied. "You care a great deal for him, I can't imagine precisely how you feel. But I do hope you find the happiness you deserve."
"As do I," Mipha replied. "Even if I can't be with the one I want, perhaps I can find another, whom I can share my life with. I will eventually go looking, of course." He could almost understand, it would be too painful for her to try right now. She was still mourning her rejection, he imagined he would be in the same predicament were their roles reversed. What would he have done, if Link had chosen her instead of him? He would probably despise them both, he would definitely be angry at everyone. "You know.. I never really noticed how happy Sidon is, whenever he is with Link until recently. The last time Link was here in the domain, he told me about what my brother.. well, what my brother from the future said to him. Sidon didn't even tell me, why?"
"He probably didn't want to hurt you," Revali replied. He suddenly remembered a tale ablut the Zora Princess', they would tailor Zora Armor for the one they love. They would then give it as an engagement gift, a promise. "You did make the Zora Armor for him, did you not?"
"Yes but, how did you..?" Mipha asked.
"A guess," Revali said. "Considering that you made it for him and considering how it would fit him so well. Did you not think that Sidon would have guessed, at your feelings for the hylian? That he would be so insensitive to his own sister, when he in fact he had courted the very same hylian you were and maybe still are in love with?"
"Well, when you put it like that," Mipha said. "My brother really cares about my feelings too." She sighed then, it was obvious she was still struggling to come to terms with everything. It reminded him a bit of his own struggles, with his pride, with his interests and even with the thought of rejection. "I feel like maybe.. I should have known this would happen, that Link didn't feel the same."
"It is always easier to see, when looking back but not so obvious when love or anger blinds your present," Revali offered. It was true of course, he knew it to be true as both his pride and his anger had blinded him. "Also don't be so hard on yourself, it will only make you bitter." She laughed at that and he felt his feather's rise a bit.
"You're right," She said. "You've changed, you know? Your a different Rito, from when we all first met."
"I am not proud of the rito I was, when we first met," Revali said, slightly ashamed. "I recall.. I wasn't the easiest to get along with, I was perhaps too prideful. I thought my gale made me better than everyone, I didn't even consider any of you to be on the same level as me. But as we fought the calamity, I slowly came to realize we were each very important, not that I would ever admit it then but I did feel that way. I also came to believe that because of.." He paused, it wasn't easy admitting he had been wrong about everyone. "Because of the way I had acted, that we couldn't be friends. I felt I had sabotaged my chances, I was used to not having friend's however but when Link said our friends were waiting. I sort just wished it were so." He felt Mipha's hand on his wing, she was smiling softly.
"We are friend's," she assured. "Now come, let's go and see if Sidon will show you his new technique too." She laughed a bit, he smiled and followed her toward the reservoir that housed Vah Ruta.
