Warriors of a Feather, Stick Together
Great Fairy Revival

"So when do you plan on having a honeymoon?" Zelda asked. Link was taken aback, they were currently waiting for Revali to return as he had went to scout ahead for the Fairy Fountain here in the Akkala Region. He had teleported them to the Akkala Tower, he thought back to Zelda's question.
"I.. Revali and I haven't really talked about it yet," Link replied. "With everything that has happened.."
"What happened?" Zelda asked, concerned. He couldn't very well tell her that he had nearly died, or that that was part of the reason he and the rito warrior were searching out the Great Fairies. The sound of wings caught his attention, as Revali landed on the tower.
"Well I have good news and bad news," he said.
"Good news first, please," Zelda requested.
"I found the Great Fairy," Revali said, then he sighed. "I also found a shrine, the bad news is this shrine doesn't appear to be active. They were called shrines yes?"
"Yes, that is what the shiekah call them," Zelda confirmed. "If it's not active then, I shall send you with a sum of rupees. Hopefully it will be enough, if not try to activate that shrine and I will use this shiekah slate to teleport over." She pulled out a slightly more complex Shiekah Slate, that they had found during their journey. Link nodded, he was the only other one with a slate, so he would have to activate it if it was necessary. "Okay so, I'll just grab out this amount and here." She handed over a wallet with rupees inside, Link accepted it before climbing onto Revali's back. His rito took off from the tower, making a smooth straight flight toward what looked like a small forest and just beyond was the cliff that overlooked Lake Akkala. They passed by the shrine and that was when he saw the large bud, Revali was coming closer to it even as he stared at it. Once the warrior had landed, he carefully climbed down and walked toward the bud in awe.
"This is the Great Fairy's Fountain," Revali whispered. Link flinched at that, how exactly was this giant bud a fountain? "Go on, you will see soon enough." He frowned and made his way up to the bud, nearly jumping back when a giant hand reached out.
"Dear boy," the voice sounded weary. He couldn't tell if it was a male or a female, however as it was so hard to tell. "My power has waned and I am great need of rupees to restore it. Please could you spare a thousand rupees for me?" He pulled out the pouch and counted the rupees, there was a decent sum of two-thousand rupees in the pouch. Link handed over half of the contents and flinched as the hand withdrew before the bud bloomed revealing the Fairy Fountain in all it's splendor. The Great Fairy then emerged with a happy sigh, she then leaned down to peer at him. "Thank you so much for this boon, oh but what brings you here? You don't appear to have ingredients or I would.."
"We are on a mission to restore you all," Link replied. "I.. I want to ask for help with conceiving."
"Oh my," she said very surprised. Revali walked up beside him and he looked back to stroke the other's feather's. "Oh I see, such a shame you already taken, then again you are quite small, heehee. Well hm.. seems you have revived two of us, there is one more left to revive, the most powerful of us and our oldest sister. Do you need to know where she is?" He shook his head, he had a pretty good idea of where she was.
"What of your other sister? The one in Kakariko?" Revali asked.
"Oh? Hm, Cotera seems to be doing better," the Great Fairy said. "Seems the people have visited her recently. Ah does this mean the crisis is over? Things may very well go back to normal, how exciting."
"For a while at least," Revali answered. "I will spread the news about you, as well."
"Oh no, dear, my place is a riddle," She said. "A promise of wonders." She leaned forward and whispered to Revali.
"Very well, I shall spread this riddle," Revali smiled a bit. "Some will find you of course I am sure. She nodded and giggled a little bit, it was clear she was mischievous in her own right.
"Oh farewell and good luck on your request," she called, before disappearing into the waters below.
"What was the riddle?" Link asked.
"Oh she said not to tell you," Revali teased, he offered his back. "Besides we have one more fairy to go and see." Link nodded and climbed on, Revali flew them back up to the tower where they informed the Princess of the recent developments.
"I see, so it was double the amount, maybe it will double again," She pulled out a thousand more rupees and handed them to Link. He accepted the rupees and placed them into the pouch. "Okay let's go and visit Urbosa, maybe she knows where the last fairy is." Link smiled a bit at her enthusiasm, he used his Shiekah slate to teleport them all to a small shrine outside the Gerudo City. "You all will have to wait here, Urbosa isn't allowing males into the city. Not even champions, I will return shortly." She ran off to the gate and entered the city, Link frowned.
He wondered why Urbosa wasn't allowing males into the city, was it a new gerudo law? Or maybe he had been an exception, along with the other champions before. He peered over at Revali who seemed to be a bit warm in this heat, he snapped his fingers and pulled out a his Sapphire Circlet. He pulled Revali close and placed it on his feathered head.
"What did you.. Oh it's cooler, is that because of this item?" the other male asked. Link nodded, of course he was pretty warm too. He grabbed out his desert voe headband, he had purchased and tied up his hair in it. He sighed a bit as he felt the near instant relief, he then handed out two of his potions of heat resistance to the other two guards. They thanked him and downed the contents. "Just how prepared are you?" Revali asked.
"Very, especially here, considering how hot and cold it can get," Link replied. It wasn't very long after that, that Urbosa appeared along with Zelda, who was talking animatedly with the taller woman.
"Oh you two are also here," Urbosa said. "That makes more sense, Zelda was trying to explain your quest to me."
"Oh, I suppose I did miss some vital.." She began.
"Anyway, I see you aren't wearing the full outfit," Urbosa teased.
"Oh that's right, I completely forgot," Zelda said suddenly ashamed. "My sapphire earrings protect me from the heat but you two must be.
"Fine, Link gave us each a potion," one of the guards replied.
"Oh, thank the goddess," Zelda said.
"I can't change into the full outfit out in the open," Link finally addressed Urbosa's statement, a little sheepishly.
"Oh right, one moment," Urbosa looked over Revali then grinned. "You know.. I wanted to save this for later but now is as good a time as any, I'll be right back." She walked over to the guards and sent one on a mission before disappearing back into the city. The guard came back and set up a tent for them to change in. Link went in and changed into his full desert voe set, he smiled feeling much cooler than before as he stepped out. He was a bit surprised when Revali suddenly pulled him close and ran a feathered wing down his chest.
"R-Revali.." He whispered. His lover only grinned at him, then finally released him, Link's heart was pounding hard and fast in his chest. His rito could definitely be a tease sometimes and why now? They were in the middle of the Gerudo Desert. Urbosa came back and let out a long whistle, Link almost felt as though he should just change back into normal clothes about then.
"Here Revali, give these a try," Urbosa said, offering him a wrapped gift. When the rito warrior disappeared into the tent, she then handed Link a gift bag. He was going to look through it but she spoke suddenly, "Not here, I was planning to give those to you at the party but then you would have to open them there. It might not be the best place, so wait until you are home to take a peek yeah?" He frowned but nodded, placing them into his pack. He peered over at the flutter of the tent flap, only to see Revali was now sporting a Desert Voe set designed specifically for rito. The set left his claws free as well as the wings, with the one armor piece only covering his wing to the elbow, while leaving most the feathers free. The headband was different as well, he was surprised the other male had changed his braids to now be one. Link was awestruck by the lack of coverage, most of the warriors feathers on full display and the set even complimented the color of his plumage.
"Well, how do I look?" Revali asked. Link pulled out the Shiekah Slate and took a quick picture, he then walked forward. Revali stole the Shiekah Slate from him, just as he buried his face in the other male's feathers. "Alright you.. look up." He grinned and looked at the Shiekah Slate, once he heard the click he went back to enjoying the feel of the other males feathers. "Honestly, what am I going to do with you?"
"What? You look irresistible," Link teased.
"Do I now?" his rito asked. Revali sounded genuinely surprised but also a little smug, he nodded and ran his hands through the other male's plumage to prove his point.
"Alright, you two lovebirds," Urbosa said. "Time to explain to me what is going on and why you are looking for a Fairy Fountain out here in the desert." Link sighed, finally releasing the very fluster rito male and then explaining what they were up to. It was finally time to also reveal the reason as well, he didn't want to leave them in the dark about the why forever. They would eventually find out anyway, so it was best to be completely up front and honest. Urbosa listened to their tale, nodding and urging him to continue when he paused. "I see, well I have not heard of a Great Fairy or anything out here. However, there is a mysterious sand storm behind the city. If she is anywhere, perhaps in there, give me a moment and I will fetch a couple of sand seals for you two. Maybe you will be able to find it out there."
Link nodded and waited for Urbosa to return, it seemed like a short time before she returned with the two sand seals. Link set up the Shiekah Slate map by pinning the large bones on the map, he just hoped he was right about his gut feeling. He then handed Revali one of his spare shields, then they set off, with Link pointing them in the direction of the pin. The sand storm appeared suddenly, buffeting him around the sands, luckily the sand seal continued along the path. He looked at the Shiekah Slate but all he saw was static, something in the storm was interfering with the Shiekah Slate. He looked up and yelled suddenly as the Sand seal turned to avoid bones. He released the roped and slid right between two ribs, slamming face first into the sand. He pushed off the sand, spitting out grains as he did so.
"Revali," he shouted behind him.
"I saw," the other male said clearly unharmed. "That was quite spectacular, honestly. I don't think I have seen you quite like this before however." He looked back at Revali and sighed, he could tell the other was only teasing him.
"Definitely one for the books, I think I'll call it Spectacular Crash Landings," Link replied, sarcastically. They shared a brief laugh, then Revali helped him to his feet. He dusted the sand off before the Giant bud caught his eye. "We found her," then more excitedly. "We found the last Great Fairy, we can revive her." He frowned though at the state of her bud, it looked a little shriveled up as though dried from the heat.
"There is also a shrine here," Revali mentioned. Link spun around, only to spot the shrine behind him and it was glowing a bright orange. He looked back to see Revali approaching the Great Fairy, he was about to join the other when a large hand reached out.
"Please kind traveler," the voice was soft as though coming from a deep slumber. "If you have ten-thousand rupees, I can be revived. I fear I will perish, if you do not." Link spun around and touched the Shiekah Slate to the shrine's pedestal activating it. He then backed away and waited.
"Please Zelda, see the shrine," he whispered. A few moments later four people appeared on the shrine itself
"Was two thousand not enough?" Princess Zelda asked.
"She needs ten-thousand and she isn't looking so great," Link mentioned, stepping aside so they could see.
"Bring the chest, hurry," Princess Zelda said, rushing over to the bud. "One moment, I have what you need." She ran forward and began to place the rupees in the fairy's giant hand, when there were ten-thousand the hand retreated.
"Thank you, kind Princess," The Great Fairy said. The bud began to fill with life before opening to reveal the Fountain, the fairy burst forth with the traditional gerudo greeting.
"Vasaaq!" She then coughed a bit. "Ah.. so many came to visit me, so what can I do for you. What sort of boon can offer you, sweet princess? A suitor perhaps? A Child?"
"Actually, I was merely helping Link and his mate with this important mission," Zelda said.
"Of course, I have been watching you all, unfortunately there is nothing I can do for your champion," the great fairy replied. "You see, my sister Kaysa has already promised to help him and his mate. All they must do is return to her with the proper materials, which I can provide them a list of later. So as for your boon?"
"O-oh um," she nodded suddenly before whispering into the Great Fairy's ear.
"Oh I see, of course I can grant you what you desire," the great fairy replied. "Do you have a silent princess with you?" Zelda nodded and handed it to her, the Great Fairy accepted it before casting a spell and blowing it over Zelda.
"Thank you so much," Zelda said. "I shall not waste this precious gift." The Great Fairy then turned to each of the others, granting each a boon of their choosing including Urbosa. Link was going to return the two-thousand rupees but Zelda insisted they keep them. The other four left via the transportation function leaving him and Revali alone with the Great Fairy.

"Link yes?" she asked. His mate nodded and stepped up to her, Revali watched and waited as the two conversed. It was a little tense, just standing there and not being part of the conversation, but that was how it went for each person. Even now he sensed it would be unwise to step forward, no matter how badly he wished to at that moment. "I see so you have decided then, very well. Revali," She called. He stepped forward, dreading what she would have to say. "As you may have guessed you have a very important job, as his mate you will need to collect the ingredient's." She leaned in close to whisper. "You will need one live female wildfowl, two tail feather's from a rito female, one large egg and the Winter's Kiss." He flinched in surprise at the last one, the Winter's Kiss was rare blossom only fond on the frozen peaks of mount Hebra. It was even rarer to find in bloom, also why would he need a large egg? He leaned in to whisper.
"About the egg, where should it come from?" he asked.
"A non-mated rito female of course, it is best if it is unfertilized," She replied, in a whisper. He nodded, so that was two things he would need to ask for and he knew just the female to ask. He doubted she would be so kind, as to provide them for free however. "Bring those to Kaysa in Tabantha and she shall fulfill your request. Link do not forget you must also be there to receive the boon." He watched as Link nodded, confirming that he was aware. They then said their farewells before Link teleported them to Vah Medoh.
"Well then, I will have to go and collect these ingredients." Revali mentioned. "I will have to be gone for long hours to find the first but hopefully everything else, will go smoothly after that. Of course this means that I will need to start early tomorrow, as night is fast approaching."
"Yeah, we had a busy day today," Link mentioned with a shiver and a yawn. Revali pulled the snowquill jacket, from Link's bag and put on him. "Thanks." They then entered the Vah Medoh intent on taking a rest for the evening.
