Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.
A/N: "Animals" Maroon 5, Nickleback is pretty good too but anyway, back to the story! XD "Honey, I'm good" Andy Grammar. Also pay close attention as this will kinda turn into a sort of situation like Corruption of Champions. If you haven't played it, it can actually be a sort of fun adult game and I suggest, if you are an adult, to try it. It's basically a novel in game form and you make the choices, every decision affects the world you are in btw! I was luck enough to be able to play the original and it was amazing sadly it cannot be played any longer, as it requires flash. So sad.

Link stood on top of Vah Medoh, he was waiting for Revali to return and trying to keep the wildfowl calm in the process. Why the other male had needed a living creature, he wasn't sure but he was definitely looking forward to the next part. He was almost certain, that the other male was taking them to the fairy fountain today. He smiled once the bird had calmed before giving her something to eat, he wasn't a complete barbarian after all.
"It's okay, see?" he whispered calmly. He stroked her feathers in a soothing way, she made a loud sound that alerted him to Revali's sudden return. His mate said nothing and instead was immediately piloting the Divine Beast toward their next destination. It wasn't long before they were both standing before the fairy fountain.
"Oh, I can definitely see that you are pleasant to look at," Kaysa teased Link. "Are you sure you wouldn't want to stay here and live with me?" He couldn't help the heat that flooded his face, of course he wouldn't. He grabbed Revali's wing and hid his face, it was so embarrassing to him. "Kidding but you are super cute when you blush." She laughed a bit at that. "I see you brought everything with you yes?" He nodded. He watched as Revali placed a large egg and two feathers in the Great Fairy's palm. The bird suddenly hopped up onto her hand and sat on the egg as well. "Oh well then, usually it takes some coaxing but this is perfect! Now hand the Winter's Kiss to Link." Link looked to his mate in surprise as the other handed him a beautiful frozen bloom and he smiled as he accepted it. He turned to face the Great Fairy who cast a magic spell from that, which was on her hand and into the flower. She then pressed the flower through him, he was shocked as it disappeared. "All done, it will take several days to see the results but this will give you what you seek."
He remembered back to his conversation with the desert's Great Fairy. She had given him several options, one that would require the process to be repeated if he ever wanted more babies, or chicks he supposed, one that would make him entirely female which wasn't necessary and this one that would give him an egg laying womb at the price of his well a specific bit of his anatomy, that he would not be using anyway. Of course he was able to keep his member, this essentially made him a hermaphrodite. Or would after the transformation is complete that is, he hoped it wouldn't shock Revali too much. He knew that if he had simply become a female, there would be way too many questions for him to answer. But this way would be better, even if there was some minor adjustments that would need to be addressed later.
"What exactly did that spell do?" Revali asked. "And why will it take several days?"
"You will have to wait to and see," Link replied. He kissed his lover's beak and then pulled him into a hug. "I am certain it will.. well.. it will be different at least." Revali looked worried, he could tell by the agitated feathers and slightly flared tail. It was the exact same way the other male had looked, after saving him. He took some time to soothe the feathers and reassure his beloved before he finally suggested returning home. The beating of wings had him looking briefly, to see the wildfowl flying away.
"Actually," Revali said. Link looked back at his beloved. "I have other plans for the rest of today. How does a quick trip to Hateno sound?" He grinned but he wasn't sure that was quite a good idea, or was it?
"What about the warriors?" Link asked.
"They can handle things without me for today," Revali replied. "They seem to be doing well enough, since I took such a long time off. Besides, I want us to be completely settled and to see this house, that you kept all of your most precious memories in." Link smiled. "That is what you call your roost is it not? A house?"
"Yes, it is time I moved everything into our home," Link replied. He chuckled as the warrior wagged his tail a bit.
"What is the difference between a house and a home?" Revali asked.
"A house is a place, while a home is where your heart is," Link answered. He saw the other male smiling at him, clearly his words made the other male very happy. "Not just that though I suppose, home is where your loved ones are. Those who are most precious and close to your heart as well." Revali offered his back suddenly.
"Come let's go to Hateno," he urged. Link chuckled, then again if they took too long they would lose the daylight. He climbed onto the other males back and then they were flying back to Vah Medoh, once he was on the Divine Beast and safely planted on the top landing.
"We're taking Vah Medoh?" he asked. Revali nodded before flying off, he wondered if the warrior was checking on their nest. Medoh screeched and then started to move toward the Hateno tower, Revali then landed beside him. Another rito suddenly joined them, he turned to see Iki.
"Master Revali, I was told to c-come with you," Iki stuttered.
"Fine but do not think that gives you leave to slack off," Revali replied.
"N-no of course not.." Iki responded, nervously. The other male was looking at the ground, it was obvious the other rito had been put through the wringer this last week or so. Iki's feathers were looking a little out of sorts as well, almost like the other male was having a bad feather day. Link sidled up close to Revali leaning against the other male, he hadn't noticed any rito having a bad feather day before in all honesty. He wondered if it was something to be worried about, he looked back at Iki as the other was also being uncharacteristically quiet.
"You sure he can't have a little break?" Link asked, quietly. Revali looked back at the other male and Link grinned pleadingly when his beloved looked at him.
"I suppose he can take it a little easy, considering he is molting," Revali mentioned.
"Molting?" he asked.
"Yes, rito molt annually, in fact molting season is very close for me as well," the other male replied. "I will be less active and less likely to fly during it, it's quite an uncomfortable experience but worth it when the new feathers come in."
"So during this molting period you lose feathers?" Link asked.
"Yes, so that the new ones can grow back in, it also replaces any broken feathers, etc," Revali explained. "I will have to pick up a few.." The other suddenly trailed off, then walked over to Iki. "Did you bring everything you will need for tonight? We may not be able to make it back to rito village until tomorrow."
"Yes I did," Iki replied.
"Good," Revali muttered moving back to his side, Link leaned against his beloved once more. He was really glad his rito wasn't complaining about the contact as well, he really just wanted to be close right now. He remained that way until he spotted the familiar landscape, he pointed out his house. It stood all alone on it's own plateau of sorts, Revali nodded and circled around for a little bit.
"Iki, Link head down and I will land," Revali said. Link nodded and leapt off one of the wings using his para-sail to glide down easily and land in front of the house. He watched as Vah Medoh came in, the propellers slowing it's forward momentum, whipping wind around him and Iki. When the Divine Beast made contact with the rock shelf, the ground shook nearly knocking him on his butt. Iki wasn't as lucky, the poor rito was taken by surprise and landed on his back.
"That was unexpected," Iki said. The sun was already low in the sky, he sighed and opened the door to the house. He smiled at the familiar surroundings, his parents old bed was just up the stairs and his bed was tucked in a little cut-out beneath them. He didn't feel comfortable sleeping in their old bed, nor would he ever. He began to open drawers and take out the sentimental objects he wouldn't be able to part with. His father's war medal, a ribbon his mother had used to tie her hair and several other little knick-knacks. He even packed up the hand-carved horses his father had made for him. He wasn't sure about taking the fine dishes, as they were so delicate.
"This is.. quaint," Revali said, Link turned to see his beloved entering the small house. "It has quite the charm about it, I see why you stayed here." He smiled, his rito had no idea but he would definitely clue the other in one day. He moved on to the next draw, taking a few items from there and moving on. He then went to his chest that sat next to his bed and took any spare clothes he might want to wear, including a few shirts his mother had embroidered for his father. "Why are there two beds?" Link looked up to see the rito was at the top of the stairs.
"That bed up there belonged to my parents," Link said. "I couldn't bring my self to sleep there."
"I see," Revali whispered, somberly. Link made his way up and packed all the pictures Purah had printed for him, well she called it printed. Even the one with all of them in it, he stared at it a moment before putting it away with the others. "How do we get the images off the shiekah slate and like that?" He looked to see the other male had seen them.
"We can ask Purah, at the tech lab," Link replied. "I think she moved here to Hateno in fact." He packed up anything else of value into a bag as well, then he went back to peer at the delicate dishes.
"Those do not look sturdy enough to take," Revali mentioned. "But if I repurpose my own dishware box perhaps they could."
"You would do that?" Link asked.
"Of course, these do have value to you," his beloved stated.
"They do, thank you," Link said, hugging the other male.
"Also I am sure I can easily get someone in the village to craft me a temporary box for my own dishes as well," Revali replied.
"Oh yes there might be, we can always ask," Link said. He spotted Iki hanging out, outside. "Iki come in, you will be staying in the house tonight after all."
"Oh but.. isn't this your roost?" Iki said.
"It is my house but only because I inherited it from my parents," Link explained. "Come in, I don't mind." Iki nodded then and entered taking a look around, the rito looked amazed as though he hadn't expected so much room on the inside. "I'm thinking you can sleep in the bed upstairs, Revali and I will probably be in our roost in Vah Medoh tonight, so you will have this house to yourself."
"Oh, thank you so much!" Iki said. Link smiled before heading outside, Revali had already left the house and he still had to get the other male to the village wood-carver, well before dark so they could make it back in time. Revali joined him and Link led him into the village with the dish box. Once they were at Joal's, he took a moment to let Revali and the wood carver go over the box with all of it's intricate details.
"This is some fine craftsmanship," Joal said. "Did you carve this yourself?"
"Yes, I did," Revali replied. "Unfortunately this box took me quite a while to make and we need a similar design by tomorrow before we leave in the afternoon."
"Oh, I won't guarantee it will be this good but I can definitely make you something similar," Joal said. Then the carver went to work designing a sort of blueprint, he revised it a little at Revali's direction and soon it was settled. "Alright I'll get started on this right away, I will have it ready by tomorrow afternoon.
"Thank you," Revali said, he offered up half the payment and then they made their way back to the house. He and Revali then packed some of the delicate dishware into the dish box. "I don't think we can take it all, after all."
"That's fine, it will save some fine dishware for the next owner," Link offered with a smile. They finished packing what they could and soon the house looked nearly bare. Revali and Iki then took the packed bags and brought them into Vah Medoh, Link placed a few pictures up on the wall hooks Medoh had formed for them. Then he and Revali put the remainder of the things away in drawers and cabinets. "There all moved in." He looked over his shoulder in surprise, as he was enveloped in warm feathers. He grinned and ran his hand across the other's cheek feathers, then placed a small kiss on the other male's beak.
"I'll go check and be sure Iki is settled for the night, while there's still some daylight," Revali said. Link smiled and nodded before setting up their nest, when Revali returned, he was already getting comfortable. It was then he noticed that something was missing, he was surprised his sack was already missing and he was certain Revali would take notice. Link managed to sneak in below the covers, before cuddling up to his beloved. He sighed inwardly when Revali didn't question his odd behavior, he then reached just to be sure the transformation wasn't finished yet. Nope it was still fairly flat with some minor folds but no hole yet, he ran his fingers along the feathers before him. This was mostly to distract himself, he wasn't sure what this process was supposed to feel like, let alone what it would be like once finished. Still that would be a problem for another day and hopefully not a problem for Revali, though he would definitely need some time to adjust.
