Link awoke and immediately began to panic, Revali wasn't in the nest with him and it looked as though he had missed most the day already. He rushed around getting dressed before he stopped noticing that Revali was eyeing him critically from the door. He swallowed hard before pulling his pants the rest of the way up, he had no doubt the other male had seen just by the look.
"Revali.. I," Link began but Revali stopped him with a raised wing.
"Why didn't you tell me you were giving something up, for the Great Fairy's gift?" Revali asked simply.
"I didn't think it would be that important, besides what I am getting in return is worth it," Link explained.
"And that is?" Revali asked, eyeing him critically. He was sure the other was angry with him.
"A.. A womb that can bear eggs," Link replied in a whisper. Revali was surprised and it showed, in not only his changed stance but his face as well.
"You gave up.. to bear our children?" his rito was definitely shocked. It was a while before the other male recovered. "You should have at least discussed this with me, was this the only option? Weren't you scared of bearing our young before?"
"I was but I want to," Link answered. "And this way if we want to have more children, we can without having to ask for another gift. She did say I would need to match my diet to a female rito's though, for healthy eggs."
"Of course," Revali whispered, pulling him into a tight embrace. "I just wish you would have told me, that you were giving up something so precious."
"Are you mad at me?" Link asked.
"I was a little," Revali replied.
"Was?" Link asked. Wait did that mean? He bit his lip, Revali had found out before this? Did that mean that all of Revali's strange behavior was linked to that? The rito Warrior really had been putting himself to work harder than before, he thought it had been punishment.
"I found out while we were at Hateno," Revali offered.
"Is that why you have been working so hard?" Link asked.
"No it isn't, the chief wasn't very happy about me being away so long without informing him," the other male answered. "So I am actually on extra detail along with Iki, who will be done with his long before I finish mine. I took a break today to talk to you about well, this." Link grinned sheepishly at that, so his poor beloved warrior was being punished. "I should get back before they notice I am gone though, or it might end up worse." Link nodded and watched as his mate left the divine beast, maybe he should get out today as well and go hunting or something. He thought back to the day prior, what if he ran into Kyth again? Or those lizalfo? He definitely did not want to end up being stuck in another bad situation.
He grabbed his para-sail and held it to his chest. It was now the first and nearly only thing he grabbed in the mornings, aside form what he would need for the day but now he was contemplating taking a sword and shield. Maybe he needed someone to hunt with, was it common for Rito to hunt in pairs? He didn't think he could or even should be bothering anyone about that, what if they thought it a silly idea? He sighed before heading out to the tail of the divine beast.
"What do you think I should do Vah Medoh?" Link asked it, he was certain the divine beast could hear him. After all it heard Revali and had responded, it was strange to think that a mechanical creature could communicate but it had. "Should hunt alone again today?" He let go of the breath he was holding, perhaps the beast only answered to Revali. "Should I ask to hunt with someone else?" He paused and waited again the divine beast was silent, maybe it couldn't answer him. Link sighed, he supposed he would have to decide for himself and hope for the best. But who could he ask without arousing suspicion? Maybe he could ask Nysh, the young warrior did seem friendly enough but they had already helped him so much. No he couldn't ask for more help, but he didn't know who else to turn to. The chief was a very busy Rito and Telnoss was busy managing the warriors, Revali and Iki included. There was no way he could bother either one with something like this.
Link sighed, he would just have to go for it and see if he could find any stragglers.

The chief watched as the little hylian made his way back out to the forest, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty for keep Revali and well the little warrior apart. But he also couldn't just skip out on a punishment, there was something he could do however. He made his way down to one special landing, this landing was currently being watched by Nysh.
"Nysh," the chief greeted.
"O-oh chief," Nysh greeted, a little clumsily.
"Has Munsezo left for the hunt yet?" He asked, the timid cook.
"Oh no, not yet.. why?" Nysh asked, seeming truly curious.
"I would like to assign him a hunting partner," the chief offered. Nysh seemed a little concerned by that. "He isn't in any trouble, being that he is one of our best hunters. I just thought he may be able to benefit from helping one who less mobile. A friend of yours I believe and a hero to the realm." His hints seemed to get across to the younger rito.
"Oh I see," Nysh replied. "But chief will Link even accept a hunting partner? He's technically not a rito warrior."
"Well hopefully he won't oppose the idea," the chief replied carefully. "Just give Munsezo the idea and see if he will tempt our resident hylian with the offer."
"Yes of course, right away!" Nysh replied heading off immediately. The chief chuckled and made a quick flight back to his usual perch, to watch over the village and keep an eye on his people.

He was sitting alone in his roost readying the tools he would need for the day. Hunting took a lot of patience and stealth, hunting from the sky could be just as difficult as on foot. Especially if you were not quiet enough for the task and he was the most silent flier of all rito, it was why he could hunt so well. The older rito all had their own tricks that they used to hunt but he could easily sneak up on any prey and take them down. Of course he had learned a few tricks of his own mostly form his pa before the old bird had passed but he still had a better knack then most. He was skilled, agile and silent, the best combination you could have as a hunter.
"Munsezo," he looked up to spot Nysh at his door, the other rito was quite familiar with his space. He liked having Nysh around and yet was unable to court the other as of yet. He had still not been accepted by Nysh, of course how could he express his wish to court? He couldn't, he couldn't voice how much he needed the other in his life. Ever since he had first Met Nysh he had this strange and foreign need to be close to the other male. He had no idea why until the more recent years, sometimes the need would be so great that he feared he would do something regrettable and ruin his chance.
He breathed and stood grabbing everything he needed as he made his way to the door, Nysh smiled at him. It was an innocent smile but it still made his heart race.
"The chief asked me to ask you," Nysh paused as though uncertain. "He wants you ta ask Link if he wouldn't mind being your hunting partner."
"The chief is worried," Munsezo guessed.
"Yeah but I mean we're kinda worried about him too," Nysh prodded. "You even said last that he might need someone to hunt with." He did remember that but did it have to be himself? He supposed it did after all hunting partners were just that, two friends hunting together. It would also keep the hylian from running into the lizalfos the scouts had spotted in the area recently.
"Okay," Munsezo decided. Nysh smiled at that and his heart sped up a little, now he just had to go and find Link then ask. He watched as the other rito flew off, back to the duties he had been assigned today no less but he himself was off to his mission. It wouldn't be easy to convince the hylian to join his hunts but maybe he could if he worded it right. He flew off to find a very specific rito, he would just have to ask how to convince the hylian and that was that. When he found Revali he landed beside the other male, Revali gave him a glance but continued to work. "I'm planning to take on Link as my hunting partner."
"Oh?" Revali asked. "Is that because you need help or because it will help Link?"
"It could benefit both me and Link," Munsezo answered. "I am still not yet an expert and my ability to fly can get us both to the hunting grounds."
"The chief put you up to this?" Revali asked.
"Yes," Munsezo answered.
"But I take it you don't mind helping us out?" Revali guessed. "Otherwise you would have declined."
"Link is our friend," Munsezo answered. Revali paused in his work and regarded the other carefully, as though trying to puzzle out why he was there.
"Well you don't need my permission to hunt alongside my mate," Revali guessed. "So you must not know how to convince him, tell him the chief allows hunting in pairs and that you decided you could benefit from his experience in hunting. That should be enough." Munsezo nodded before flying off, now he would just need to find the hylian. Not so easy a task from the sky but maybe it would yet be possible. He flew over the forests until he spotted a figure creeping through the woods on foot, he wasn't sure what the hylian was looking for but eventually the other sat down as though giving up. He landed nearby doing his best not to startle the hylian. The other male looked from his seat and seemed a little wary of his approach.
"Oh Munsezo it's you, what brings you here?" Link asked, seeming genuinely curious.
"I came to see if you wanted a hunting partner," Munsezo said. The Hylian didn't seem thrilled by the idea but he continued. "The chief approved my taking on a hunting partner and I think I would benefit from your experience in hunting."
"But you're really good at hunting," Link said a little surprised.
"Only because I fly silently," Munsezo replied. "I did get a few tips from my pa before he passed but there is still a lot about hunting I don't know."
"What did your pa teach you?" Link asked.
"To keep my shadow from view of my prey," he answered. "What were you looking for earlier?"
"Oh tracks mostly," Link replied. "I usually have to follow game trails to find my prey." There was a pause and watched as the other male seemed to think over what to say next. "Okay but I have to know if there was some other motivation for this offer."
"Scouts have spotted lizalfo in the area," Munsezo replied. "Hunting isn't safe near the village but I know of a better area." Link seemed surprised at that but then nodded.
"Okay then we'll hunt together," the hylian said with a nod. He nodded in return and offered his back, once Link climbed on he took off. It wasn't difficult to get airborne after all he was used to carrying game back. He just hoped he really could learn something he hadn't known before, thankfully the flight to the hunting grounds wasn't silent. Link had begun to explain the hylian method for hunting prey at least until they got close. He was surprised to see the field empty when they arrived, though it probably wouldn't be long before the creatures wandered onto the field. "Let's head down." Munsezo nodded and landed, he wondered what Link was up to however. He watched as the hylian made his way around the field kneeling down occasionally.
"What is it?" Munsezo asked.
"Well you weren't kidding about this being a good hunting ground," Link mused. "I've seen several trails of animals that have been here recently but this last one is worrying. Seems we are not the only hunter in these woods, look at these tracks." He looked noting the size and shape.
"Did it scare the game off?" Munsezo asked.
"Most definitely," Link replied. "Now we could wait here for the game to return or we could go out and track one down. Your call though?" He thought about the options if a huge carnivore had scared the game off this hunt could take all day long if they stayed but tracking wasn't exactly his specialty but maybe he could see the Hylian in action.
"Let's track one down," He watched as a smile crossed the hylians face.
"Alright, follow me but remember to keep quiet," Link said. He nodded granted hunting on foot was going to be more difficult for him. "Have you ever hunted on foot before?" He shook his head but he was ready for the challenge. "Just a few tips then, don't step on any twigs, dried leaves or branches on the ground. It will make a noise loud enough to alert all prey within a mile of you. Alright let's go after this trail then." He made his way to an area he had knelt at before and knelt once more Munsezo got close as well to listen to Link's explanation of the animal they were hunting. He almost couldn't believe the other could tell height and weight of an animal just by it's tracks but maybe it was all there somehow. "Tracks get easier to read when you do it as often as I have."
"How can you tell weight?" Munsezo asked.
"See how deep this track is?" Link asked. He nodded and watched as Link lifted his own foot showing off the track that the hylian had just made. "And you see how deep mine is." he nodded again seeming to get the picture. "It also helps when you can identify tracks as well, smaller tracks like this will sink deeper then our own tracks simply because all that weight is on that hoof as opposed to where all our weight is centered. "The bear track over there is wider so it won't sink as deep as say one with little paws or again hooves unless it has some heft behind it you see. Now bears tracks can differ, if they have to stand up on their back paws as well. Like say if they were facing off against another bear or other predator."
"Makes sense," Munsezo answered. It was quiet interesting and hunting on foot would definitely benefit him sometimes as well. He was eager to learn how as Link finished up his explanation by saying they could discuss it more later. Link then began to point out each track until he felt comfortable enough to point them out himself. Soon the trail seemed to cold tracks wise but Link began to show him other signs along the trail as well. Broken branches tufts of fur on others and many other signs of their quarry. Soon he was the one leading the way through the forest until he got stuck at a few points and that is when Link would step in and find the trail again.
It wasn't long before they found their prey, it was the size and seeming weight that Link had described. He watched as Link made his shot, hitting the target with great accuracy and the creature surprisingly went down before getting up and running off. He was about to give chase when Link stopped him.
"We can follow at a decent pace but it's not getting far," Link said. Munsezo thought back to the hit, it made sense especially for a fatal would. "This is how hunting on foot usually works, the animal doesn't know it's been fatally wounded so it will run until it is too weak to run anymore. We will catch up to it, it's only a matter of time now." He nodded and followed Link's lead, now they were following not only a game trail but a blood trail making following the wounded creature much easier than before. Just as Link had said they did eventually find the creature down and unable to get away from them. Link was the once to finish the creature quickly and then they were heading back with their prize. He was quite glad the hunt hadn't taken all day as it usually would have in those instances and they would be able to hunt a second time as well.

*intecept's* Hey guys long chappie I know and oh hey some insight into Munsezo's thoughts? Also he is being waaaay more talkative in this chappie but not too talkative I hope. I mighta missed the mark about the mostly silent type maybe, maybe not though. I'm trying to make a charrie of few words or as few as I can anyway. I'm not doing great at it tbh. I will do better next chappie I swear!
