Nobody's POV

Monica didn't know what to feel last night. She didn't know whether she would be happy and proud by her child's first kick or will be sad because of Chandler who already said those three words. Why the same night? She thought.

She was devastated 'til now. She couldn't believe that Chandler had already told Mina that he loves her. She didn't expect this to happen, she thought his relationship with Mina would only be short-term but it turned out to be the most serious thing.

"Hey, eat your muffin." Joey nudged her in the arm. Her inner thoughts broke and snapped back. She was too devastated to eat but she care about her baby's health too.

She took the muffin on the coffee table and took a bite. Even her bite was sad. She was sad.

Beside her, Joey was looking. Last night he discovered that Monica is in love with Chandler. His best friend, Chandler. It was hard for him to comfort Monica last night but fortunately, Monica cannot fight herself anymore and doze soundly in Joey's bedroom.

While Monica was sleeping, he caress her hair comfortingly and couldn't help but feel pity for his friend.

"Erm... Are you going to talk... to Chandler?" Joey carefully inquired. He's been meaning to ask this question since morning.

Monica chew her muffin for a while and shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know... No? It's Chandler. I don't—"

"I meant the baby's kick." Joey made his question clearer.

Monica gave him an "Oh" look and avoid him, embarrassed. "Sorry, I thought—"

"It's okay and I understand if you're still uncomfortable to talk about it," He told her.

Monica smiles at him.

She shakes his head to clear and gather her thoughts, "Uhm, about your question earlier. I mean I need to tell him right? It's just—I can't..." She cleared her throat not wanting to break down in the coffee shop, "I can't look at him... and thought about last night." She said.

Joey nodded his head, understanding what she meant. Even though, he hasn't experienced what she experiencing right now. He knows it was harder for her.

"But you need to..."

"I know..." She trailed out.

She sigh and took a bite on her muffin again. A minute later, Chandler came into the coffee shop and saw Monica and Joey together on the orange couch.

He furrowed his eyebrows at them. He realized this past few weeks, Monica and Joey are always spending so much time together. He didn't know what made these two connect a bond or maybe he was too busy and spend most of the time with Mina.

He put his hand on his forehead, massaging his temple and remembering what happened last night. He didn't know what made him say those three big words at her. He was pressured. trapped. It just came out of his mouth.

It wasn't meant for her...

"Hey, man, are you okay there?" Chandler's thoughts broke when he heard his best friend's voice across the orange couch.

"Yeah, I'm good." He answered rather inaudible.

He walks across the couch and orders a coffee at the counter then sits beside the orange couch.

The three were quiet, only the customer's muffled conversation was only to be heard.

Joey was the first one to make a chat, "So where's Mina? She didn't join you for breakfast?" and took a glance at Monica who has no expression written on her face.

"She went back to her apartment... Uh— she said she wasn't feeling well." He told him.

Suddenly, Monica looked at him, surprised. Last night, a big matter happened and then suddenly, now, something may have a quandary?

"Oh, really? I hope she's doing well...—", Then she turned to Monica, "Monica, isn't there something you want to tell Chandler about? YES?! Okay, I'll leave you two alone!" Joey swiftly said then left abruptly in the coffeeshop leaving the two stunned and highly strung.

Monica looks at the door where Joey left, feeling betrayed, daft at the same time infuriating at him. Chandler, on the other hand, was confused by the quick change of the statement about Monica telling something about him. He's starting to become nervous, he shakily cough and started, "Erm... What is he talking about?"

Her head spins to look at him, heartbeat thumping rapidly. She's not ready to talk to him, it was too much for her but at the same time it wouldn't be fair to him if she didn't tell this so she gathered all of her courage and opened her mouth to speak, "I forgot to tell you earlier... that the baby started to kick."

The next that he did surprise and shock her, concurrently. He jumped on the orange sofa and put his both hands onto Monica's bump. These antics made her want to laugh because he was so goofy but the feeling of his hands on hers made her body tingle.

"It's not kicking right now. Although I would love to see you dive on the couch again," She teased.

Chandler remove his hand from her and he raised an eyebrow at her, "What? When it was kicking?" He asked.

She gulped, this is going to be hard, she thought.

She shifts uncomfortably on the couch and stares into his eyes, "Last night..." She trailed out, "I felt it when I was asleep and I went to...— to the apartment. Your bedroom but... I don't want to bother you because it seemed like you and Mina were talking seriously."

There was no comment. Answer. Nada. from him.

But then she added something, "But it's okay because I went into Joey's room and he was sleeping—"

"You went into Joey's room?" He finally started to speak.

"Yes, but it was only becau—"

"So you went to Joey's and not to me? Wha— What? Is he the father of our child?" His tone is rather hacked off.

Monica's eyebrows became furrowed and looks at him, unbelievable, "No, I'm just saying that I went to Joey's because you and Mina were talking last and I don't want to disturb you!" She stated again.

"You thought that talking to Mina was more important than the first kick of our unborn child?" making a slight mockery in his tone.

"No, but it's obvious that you two are having an important discussion and I don't want to butt in between the two of you especially you celebrated that you two... you love each other!"

Chandler was too stunned to speak or shout again.

Does she know?

After the commotion that they did in the middle of the coffee shop, some of the people started to judge them.

Monica's eyes were red and watery like last night but these tears were different now she is talking in front of him about this. She quickly stood up and left the coffee shop, walking fastly to her apartment, leaving Chandler alone.

"Uhm, She forgot to pay the muffin" Gunther mentioned to him as he brought his head down feeling bad.

She stormed upstairs, tears streaming down her face. This wasn't what she's expecting in finding the first kick. It was supposed to be happy, proud and laughing but here they were shouting and dealing with their problems.

She closed the door of her apartment behind her and move across the living room, walking back and forth at the coffee table.

This is such a disaster.

The unrequited love. The pregnancy. EVERYTHING!

She heard her apartment door shut again and saw Chandler moving towards her across the couch, , "Monica—"

"No! I don't want to have this kind of discussion again. I don't want to fight. I don't... I don't—"

"I'm not going to." He stopped her because she was starting to hyperventilate. She looks at him, her eyes glistening with tears.

She turns around, away from him and burying her eyes on the palms of her hand.

What happened to them? What happened to their friendship? Where's the Monica and Chandler who are always there for each other and have the closeness? It was all ruined because of her own mistake, she thought.

Her hands are still on her eyes, preventing falling down the tears that have on her, "What happened to us?" She started, "We're supposed to be best friends." She said.

And Chandler looks at her, sympathetic, "We are best friends." He said, his voice barely audible.

She looks at him, finally letting her hand down, "No. Can't you see what's happening to us? We have a problem, Chandler. After New Year's! I know that sometime in our friendship that THIS will be ruined." Chandler was too overwhelmed to speak so he keep listening to her, "Y'know I've been thinking a lot of what if's. What if I didn't let myself get affected by my mother's scrutiny? What if I didn't make it such a huge deal and got depressed?... But my biggest what if was that 'What if I hadn't slept with Chandler?' Then things will be okay until now." She choked by her own tears.

He just bowed his head down in return, seeing her voice broke, felt like he's been stabbed by a million knives.

"And when you asked me if I regret what happened between the two of us.. To be honest, I regret it... Every. single. day and I'm sorry but it wasn't your fault.

It was mine."

He was quiet for a long moment. He can't believe Monica lied to him but he didn't care about that, he just doesn't want to blame herself for what happened to them.

After a few seconds of silence, he finally said, "You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened. It wasn't your fault why this is happening to us."

"But it is!"

"Why?! Because you were depressed and you slept with me? No. Because between the two of us, I'm the one whose fault..."

This made Monica looks at him, confused, "Wh— Why? Is it your fault?"

"Because...— Because I liked you and I push you into having a relationship with me and it got awkward and uncomfortable after that." He said.

"Yeah, but what if I agree to that. What if I said yes and we got together? Then we would not have these stupid fights! I didn't fight for us! Because I was too scared to admit that I—" She stopped in mid-sentence.

"That you what?" Chandler questioned.

Monica looks at him then around the room, trying to avoid the look in his eyes. She shakes her head and breathed out, "Nothing. It doesn't matter now." Hugging herself by crossing her arms around her.

Chandler moves towards her, "Monica. What is that you scared to admit?" He raised the question again, standing in front of her.

She looks upon the ceiling, trying so hard not to roll another tear across her face. He can't tell him this, it will be complicated. It will completely, utterly, ruin their friendship.

"Monica!" He demanded again because a part of him knows the next sentence of that statement, "Monica, please just tell me," He pleaded.

He was tired, they were tired.

They want their old self again but they can't seem where to find it when they are trying to hide from one another.

Maybe it's time to tell Chandler what she truly feels. To stop this once and for all.

She took a deep breath before she opened her mouth, "That— I... I love you too."

The next thing she knew, he had slammed his lips to her and nearly knocked all wind from her lungs. She hardly had a moment to react before he pressed it. As the kiss got deeper and deeper, she pulled away but not far from her. Both of them are out of breath. "No, we shouldn't be doing this, Chandler. YOU shouldn't be doing this." She gulped, her eyes were closed.

He stared at her, looking at her swollen lips. After that moment he completely forgot everything. Even Mina. All of his feelings for Monica come rushing back at him.

This was their moment.

He slowly leaned in against her and their lips are inches away from each other. He leaned in more and lightly give her a soft peck, and again... and again. He looked at her again and he knew that he wanted her badly.

She reluctantly opened her eyes, gaze into his and said, almost breathless, "For God's sake," Being annoyed to herself, she pulled him by the neck and they kissed again.

Their lips began to move in perfect synch, gentle, slow, passionate. They have been taken by the overwhelming feeling of missed combined with sadness.

He moved his hands from her waist to her cheek and put pressure on their lips to deepen the kiss. They were both craving for this. Craving for each other.

They finally pull away because in need of human air. He rested his forehead against her, both of them capturing each other's breath. His hands were still on her damp cheek from all the crying earlier and his thumb rubbed circles across it.

"You don't know how long I've been wanting to do that." He said, nervously.

Little did they know in that moment, someone was watching them.

"Chandler?"
