Summary: Deja finds herself going crazy over a new brand of cookies and gaining weight, only to keep getting fatter until she balloons into a bloating blob.
In the cottage, Deja sat on the chair inside her bedroom. She stared at a table full of two slices of red velvet cakes and cookies and cream brownie cheesecake. She took a big bite of a cheesecake slice with a huge smile on her face.
Hallow was enjoying the tea party with two automaton plushies. After what happened to the personality swapping incident, Deja took them in, where she named the fox plush automaton Vixen and the rabbit plush automaton Bunilla.
"Man, this cheesecake is so worth the wait!" Deja squealed as she shivered from the deliciousness. "Vixen, post this scrumptious delight on my blog!"
Vixen nodded and began tapping on Deja's phone as she posted a picture of the cheesecake on her blog.
Sabrina walked out of the lab with high-tech googles on her face and Catalina came back from her jogging. They immediately stopped at the sweetening smell coming from Deja's room.
"Oh, boy. Is Deja sugar-coating the house again?" Sabrina asked with a raised eyebrow.
Sabrina and Catalina marched inside Deja's bedroom as they stood behind the youngest oni toon.
"Alright, Deja. I know you love your tea parties and all, but you're sweeting the whole house." Catalina said.
"Sorry, I didn't noticed." Deja said simply. "Santa Burbank Bakery offered me these yummy desserts for their valued customer ever since I signed up as a studio idol. That and I add them to my lovely blog."
"Spoken like a true candy-coated princess." Sabrina said as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Sabrina's right, Deja. I think it's best if you postpone your pastry cart unless you want to end up big and bloated." Catalina said.
Deja took another bite of her cheesecake and then chuckled.
"Oh, come on, girls. I don't get fat. Never had, never will. There's no food in the world can change my petite body." Deja countered. She gave Sabrina an evil smirk on her face. "You carry a voracious appetite just like Wakko, and yet you maintained your figure. I mean, this is part of your character description, am I right?"
Sabrina narrowed her eyes at Deja's comment.
"Mark my words, Deja. If you turned yourself into a bloating beach ball, don't come crying to me because I'll be laughing my butt off." Sabrina warned. "You can count on it."
"Alright, Sabrina." Catalina said. "Take a chill pill."
Later that night, Deja was reading an online article on her phone while Hallow slept on the pillow.
"No. Freaking. Way!" Deja gasped as she stared longingly at the screen. "Santa Burbank Bakery is placing brand new cookies. Nebula Patties? I'm so gonna place an order first thing in the morning!"
The next afternoon, the ringing sound of the doorbell was heard from the front door. Deja opened the door and saw an eyeball-shaped drone that looked two feet in diameter was hovering in front of her. In its mechanical hands was a package of Nebula Patties.
"Good afternoon, ma'am." The drone spoke in a friendly tone. "I'm here to deliver your package of Nebula Patties."
The drone handed Deja the package and took off.
Deja walked into the living room and sat on the couch. She opened the package and took her first bite of the cookie.
Then suddenly, Deja felt an amazing explosion of sweet flavor in her mouth.
"Wow! These cookies are like a miracle in my mouth!" Deja exclaimed with a huge smile. "So minty! So chocolatey!"
Deja began eating another cookie after another until she completely devoured all of them.
"OMG! I've tasted a lot of different flavored cookies, but these are incredible!" Deja cried with heart-shaped eyes. She quickly took out her phone and began dialing. "I've gotta order some more!"
The next morning, Deja woke up out of bed and walked inside the bathroom. She was completely relaxed when she sat in a luxurious bath of peppermint and Siberian pine bath crystals surrounded by soft white bubbles floated all around. The warm water lapped up and down the ceramic tile as the bubbles flowed over the edge of the tub.
"There's nothing like a bubble bath on a day off." Deja said. "That, and I can't wait to devour those scrumptious Nebula Patties again."
Approaching the doorway to the bathroom, Hallow sat down on a closed toilet and stared at Deja. Vixen and Bunilla walked in while holding a pink towel together.
"Shall we prepare your afternoon tea party early, Lady Deja?" Hallow asked.
"Of course, Hallow." Deja replied.
As Deja got out of the tub, she grabbed the towel from Vixen and Bunilla. She wrapped it around her body and walked over to the mirror. She pinched the sides near her waist, making her quickly notice that her waist was getting fatter.
"Huh? There's no way." Deja said with a confuse eyebrow. "That's not possible. Not one bit."
Deja stepped onto the digital stainless steel bathroom scale, determining and calculating her weight reading on the LED display. She shockingly gasped when she discovered that she had actually gained weight with a horror expression on her face.
"I can't...believe it!" Deja whispered.
Deja began jogging around the studio with a black hoodie and black sweatpants as she was planning to lose the weight from her body in one mile.
Catalina and Sabrina stretched with yawns in their bedrooms as they were unaware of their friend's morning jog.
Deja quietly snuck back into the cottage and into the bathroom. When she stepped onto the scale again, she shockingly discovered that she had gained a few more pounds.
"I need to think of a plan. Real fast." Deja whispered in fear.
That afternoon, Deja stared at her fashion magazine on the couch. She secretly wore a wireless slimming belt underneath her dress.
At that moment, Catalina entered the living room with four small white boxes in her arms.
"Deja, Sabrina, did one of you two ordered something?" Catalina called out. "There was a drone outside and it gave me these boxes!"
Deja quickly turned off the belt to avoid suspicions from her friends just as Sabrina came out of her lab and walked in front of Catalina.
"Well, I didn't order anything." Sabrina said as she stared at the boxes. "Why would a drone give them to you anyway?"
"Beats me." Catalina replied with a shrug.
"Yeah, same here." Deja said casually.
As Catalina opened the boxes, she and Sabrina looked closely at what they saw inside.
"Oh, it's just cookies from Santa Burbank Bakery!" Catalina exclaimed. "Hey, Deja, these boxes are for you!"
Catalina and Sabrina noticed that Deja was still staring at her magazine without getting all crazy about the cookies.
"Uh, Deja? You can snatch these boxes anytime now." Sabrina said as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Oh, no thanks." Deja said nervously. "I'm taking a break on sweets."
Catalina and Sabrina exchanged surprised looks.
"Uh, what?" Catalina asked in confusion as she cocked her head with a raised eyebrow. "Seriously?"
"Oh, come on, Cat." Sabrina whispered with a smirk. "This is Deja we're talking about. She may not want the cookies, but she'll go crazy for them eventually. Watch this." She looked back at Deja. "Hey, Deja. If you don't want them, then I'll eat all these cookies by myself."
"What?!" Deja shouted.
"Something wrong?" Sabrina asked.
"Nope. Not at all." Deja replied as she quickly looked back to her magazine.
Deja secretly looked over her magazine and watched Sabrina opening one box. Sabrina took out one cookie and slowly started to take a bite, making Deja struggle to control herself. In about few seconds, she couldn't take it anymore and tossed her magazine aside.
"DON'T EAT THEM! THEY'RE MINE!" Deja screamed.
Deja quickly snatched the cookie out of Sabrina's hand and began devouring all the cookies maniacally, leaving nothing but empty boxes.
"Told ya she'll go crazy." Sabrina said with a taunting smile.
"Shut up, Sabrina." Deja said with a growling glare.
"Hey, Deja. If I didn't know any better, I say you're trying to be on a diet." Sabrina said with an evil look on her face.
Deja's eyes widened extremely wide in shock as her entire face became pale at Sabrina's words.
"And why would she be on a diet?" Catalina asked. "She looks like fine to me."
"Yeah, Cat's right. Why would you even say that?" Deja said with a sheepish smile. "I'm not on a diet. I told you before. I never get fat."
"Oh yeah?" Sabrina questioned. Her tail sneakily lifted Deja's dress shirt and revealed the slimming belt around her waist. "Then, what's this?"
"No. Freaking. Way!" Catalina cried.
Deja's eyes narrowed.
"Talk about busted." Sabrina said with a smile.
Deja wrapped her tail around Sabrina's neck and violently slammed her to the floor over and over in rapid speed. She then spun Sabrina around in circles and threw her to the kitchen in a hard thud.
"Uh, Deja, was that really necessary?" Catalina asked.
"But she started it." Deja said.
"That's what you get for pigging out the desserts 24/7!" Sabrina teased.
"Shut up!" Deja snapped at Sabrina. She looked back at Catalina. "But I'll show her. So, what if I gained three pounds. Just wait and see. I'm gonna go a full week without sweets to keep my figure cute and petite."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Catalina asked with concern. "I mean, it's like not I'm doubting you or anything. But you're asking yourself to not eat your sweet delights for a whole week."
"Trust me, it's just one week." Deja assured. "How bad can it be?"
"As promising as it sounds, that promise nothing compared to what's coming up next." Catalina said to the readers.
During the following days, Deja began her dieting with a morning jog around the studio followed by push-ups and sit-ups in the living room. Hallow, Bunilla, and Vixen watched as Deja followed many workouts video routine in the living room. Catalina was even shocked to see Deja jogging with intense speed.
At the gym, Deja determinedly showed off her workout on exercise bikes, rowing machines, and stair climbers.
Sabrina headed over at Santa Burbank Bakery and brought more boxes of Nebula Cookies. She returned to the cottage when Catalina came back from her jogging.
Sabrina and Catalina eventually made their way to Deja's darkened bedroom. Out of the pure darkness came Deja. Catalina and Sabrina shrieked frighteningly when they saw that their friend looked like a ghost with a dangerous face.
Catalina quickly jumped behind Sabrina in fear as Sabrina nervously offered the box to Deja, who merely looked and turned around to walk away. Catalina and Sabrina stared at Deja in shock, backing away slowly out of the room.
A week later, Deja stepped on the scale in the bathroom after a series of long, exhausting workout. Her eyes suddenly narrowed as she had discovered that she has gained two hundred pounds.
"After all that exercising." Deja muttered.
Deja finally had enough and screamed in horror. Her scream echoed throughout the cottage, making Catalina and Sabrina jump off the couch from the living room.
"IT'S BEEN OVER A WEEK AND I STILL LOOK LIKE THIS!" Deja cried in outraging fury.
Catalina instantly jumped onto Sabrina's arms when they watched Deja speeding into the kitchen with a fat stomach.
"THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I'VE SPENT A WHOLE WEEK GETTING BACK TO MY FLAWLESS FIGURE AND THIS IS THE RESULT I GET FROM ALL OF THIS?!" Deja screamed furiously. "HALLOW, VIXEN, BUNILLA, NEBULA PATTIES RIGHT NOW!"
Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla quickly took out the boxes out of the fridge and placed them on the table. Deja drooled happily when she stared at the cookies.
"NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WEEK, I'VE TRIED TO IGNORE THESE COOKIES, BUT I CAN'T!" Deja said. "I CAN'T RESIST THEM ANYMORE!"
Deja gorged the Nebula Cookies with a delightful smile on her face. Catalina and Sabrina witnessed Deja eating like a crazy person.
"Alright, Deja, you need to calm down!" Catalina said.
"Yeah, you need to restrain yourself!" Sabrina agreed.
Deja turned around and faced her friends with psychotic look on her face.
"Never mind!" Catalina and Sabrina cried out in fear. "Enjoy your time!"
Catalina and Sabrina sped out of the kitchen, leaving Deja continue to devour the sweet foods. Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla huddled together in fear.
The next morning, Deja woke up after hearing her alarm clock. She stretched with a long yawn and hopped off her bed as she walked out of her bedroom and into the bathroom. She then brushed her teeth, only to open her eyes to gaze into her bathroom mirror. Her eyed grew wide in utter shock when she saw her reflection. Deja screamed in horror, alerting Catalina, Sabrina, Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla.
Catalina and Sabrina quickly ran outside the bathroom doors.
"Deja!" Catalina and Sabrina shouted as they knocked on the door rapidly. "Are you okay? What's going on in there?"
Once Deja opened the door, Sabrina and Catalina exclaimed shockingly. Deja has now grown with an obese sumo-like body. After a moment of silence, Sabrina started to laugh and pointed her finger at Deja before falling backwards to the floor.
"Deja, what the heck happen to you?!" Catalina cried.
"This is too good!" Sabrina laughed wildly. "I heard of gaining weight, but this is hilarious! You'll win a sumo match at this rate!"
Deja growled irritably.
"HALLOW! VIXEN! BUNILLA!" Deja shouted in a slightly deep voice.
Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla came charging at Sabrina, tackling her all the way into the living room.
Deja stomped out of the bathroom and into the living room as Catalina followed behind.
"Sabrina, can we focus on the real problem?" Catalina asked as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Alright, alright." Sabrina said.
Sabrina's tail reached down into her pocket and pulled out a tablet.
"After Deja went all sugar crazy yesterday, I went over to return the chess set to Scratchansniff until I've found him gorging the Nebula Patties and gained a fat belly." Sabrina explained. "I thought it was only him and Deja, but almost half of the studio are swelling up to the size of sumo wrestlers. So, I took one cookie from Scratchansniff and carefully examined the ingredients."
"What'cha got?" Catalina asked.
Sabrina pulled up an image of the Nebula Cookie formula from her tablet and showed it to Catalina and Deja.
"Unlike most cookies, the Nebula Patties has a highly concentrated extract that was taken from sugar." Sabrina explained. "Which would explain all the weight Deja and everyone else were gaining."
"Then, it settled! We're going down to the bakery and made whoever created those cookies pay!" Deja yelled.
"Well, you're in luck because I was able to research the Nebula Patties and the person who created them." Sabrina said.
Sabrina pulled up another image of a middle-aged woman on the tablet and showed it to Deja and Catalina. The woman has long fuchsia pink hair tied in a style of large ringlets and blue eyes. She wore a medium-length yellow sleeveless dress with a white long-sleeved button-up shirt underneath, a white apron on her waist, a white petticoat, and black ballet flats.
"Her name is Candice von Caramelo." Sabrina said. "A former pastry chef who used to work at Santa Burbank Bakery a month ago before baking her famous Nebula Patties. Thanks to her formula, whoever eat those cookies become crazily addict that their weight will grow from plump to overweight to fat to obese in just one day." She looked back at her tablet. "And she's...right here in the studio."
"Let's get her." Deja growled.
Meanwhile, Candice was sitting on a counter table while she watched several sumo-sized studio employees devouring the Nebula Patties.
"Thanks to my sugar formula within my own cookie brand, everyone has gone instantly addicted to them." Candice said as she patted a large bag of money with a huge smile on her face. "So, what if they have become fat within a day? Soon, my Nebula Patties will dominate the entire pasty market for the world to love!"
"Wow! For a woman with a crazy sweet tooth, you definitely sure have a heart to sugarcoat your consumers!"
Candice turned her head to the source of that sarcastic tone and saw Catalina standing in front of the entrance.
"And who are you?" Candice snapped.
"A toon whose gonna shut your power-hungry scam out of business!" Catalina declared.
"How dare you!" Candice yelled. "My cookies aren't going anywhere as long as I ran it! Ya hear me?! And you're gonna eat them, one way or another!"
"Yeah, like that's gonna happen!" Catalina retorted. She pointed her finger forward. "Get her!"
Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla came out of nowhere as they proceeded to rush over and attack Candice.
As Candice sat up and growled, an approaching yell caught her by surprise. She looked up to see Deja plunging toward her from above. But it was too late for her to evade when Deja came crashing down on Candice.
Deja then rolled away, leaving Candice defeated with dizzy eyes. Catalina ran up to help Deja stand up on her two feet.
"Gaining weight is one thing, but turning me like this, you crossed the line!" Deja yelled at the beaten Candice.
Then, Sabrina ran hurriedly to her friends.
"Sorry, I took so long, but I've finally created an antidote." Sabrina said.
Sabrina held a vial with blue liquid in her hand and handed it over to Deja. Deja took it and drank the antidote wholly.
In seconds, Deja deflated back to her original size.
"Alright, you're back." Catalina said with a smile.
"And don't worry. I already reversed the effect on everyone else in the studio before I got here." Sabrina said.
Hallow, Vixen, and Bunilla jumped Deja's arms and Deja hugged them affectionately. Deja then looked up at her friends with a giggling smile.
"I'm glad that's over. Time for a victory celebration!" Deja said.
Back in the cottage, Deja sat on the couch with a full plate of sweet foods on the table inside the living room.
"Really, Deja?" Sabrina said with a groan. "After all that?"
"And to think we thought you have learned your lesson by now." Catalina said.
"You two worry too much. I've already learned my lesson. I can still eat what I want and workout at the same time like you girls do. So, no big deal." Deja said. She looked at Sabrina with a dangerous smile. "And Sabrina, don't think for a second that you can get away when you laughed about my bloating weight!"
Deja knocked Sabrina into the wall with her tail. She then took a big bite of ombre cake.
"That's all, folks!" Deja squealed as she looked at the readers with a wink.
