A/N: To those that have read my profile, I have failed. I have been working on other projects, despite my determination to stick with one story at a time. Truth is, I find it refreshing to switch between different stories. It helps that I'm staying within the same story universe. So, my apologizes for being another hypocrite. Please enjoy.

With shaking hands and shallow breaths, he stops at the locker. Jace had to beg for the hall pass, and knows that Mrs. Herondale will be timing him. Glancing down both sides of the hallway, ensuring the coast is clear. Once he is confident no one is near, he shoves his note in the space between the locker and it's door. He then runs up the stairs to his classroom. Taking a deep breath, he opens the door, and returns to his seat. Mrs. Herondale's pale gray eyes lock with his, and she nods once in appreciation.

Finishing the last problem on the algebra worksheet, Jace's eyes continuously roam to the clock. Ten minutes. Five minutes. He starts rapping his fingers, waiting impatiently for the bell to signal the end of the day. Silently, he fills his backpack. So when released from class he can easily go back downstairs, to see her read the note. His hands trembles with the excitement of the final countdown.

The bell rings right on time, Jace shuffles around his peers, hurried to stride out the door. Following the other students he moved down the staircase. As he rounds the second turn of steps, he hears his name. Looking toward the upper level, Alec peers down. "Wait up!"

Frantically, trying to squeeze through the limited space, Jace yells, "I'll meet you by the buses." Once he sees a clearing between the cluster of student bodies, he jolts down the rest of the stairs. Only vaguely does hear his name being called behind him. Jace pushes through the opposite flow of classmates that are trying to exit the building. Reaching the end of the coridor, he peers around the corner.

"Yes," he exclaims breathlessly. Jace arrived just in time. He watches all of her actions carefully. The way she glances around her before picking up the piece of paper that fell to the tiled floor. The flush of her cheeks as she reads the poem he wrote for her. He feels the butterflies in his stomach raging as she holds the note to her chest. When she bites her lower lip, he flushes. Anchored to his spot, Jace stays to watch her grab her things. Golden eyes stay glued as the small girl skips down the hallway with her wild orange hair flowing freely behind her.

Jace sighs happily, then realizes something is odd. It is quiet around him. He looks around, and the number of students have dwindled down to only a few. Jace looks at his watch in dismay. "The bus!" He takes of in a fast sprint to where the buses are parked. Just as his bus is about to pull away, he taps on the glass door. The driver gives him a questioning look, but remains silent.

Sitting next to Alec, he leans back in the seat, content. "What ever it was you were doing, was it worth it?" Alec asks without looking at him. Jace smiles, blushing, and he says, "Aboslutely."
