Stepping inside the glowing white building, she had one thought. This place looked more like a hospital than a ranger facility. Everything was sterilized to the point of glowing in the white lights. Looking around she could make out the rangers from various teams. As the Dino Thunder white and yellow passed them she couldn't help but ask.
"How is this possible? Their powers are gone I saw it in my father's files."
Looking around her confusion only grew. So many former rangers coming and going. There was no way this should be possible. As she looked around something caused her to stumble. Glancing over her shoulder she found a familiar face. The first red ranger Jason Lee Scott. He was dressed rather fancy in a nice black suit. He wore a bright red tie with the Zeo gold symbol as a tie clip.
As he helped her to her feet she noticed his Power Buckle. It had his Tyrannosaurus coin but it looked odd. The mouth was open as if it was roaring with the Zeo gold symbol inside. Carefully he released her letting out a chuckle.
"Gotta keep focused around here kid."
With a pat on the shoulder, he walked off. Glancing around the room she froze. Everyone in the room was a former ranger. Rubbing her forehead she could feel a headache forming.
"You eventually wrap your head around how our organization works."
Spinning in a place she jumped in surprise. Behind her stood a scientist his glasses hiding his eyes. With a nervous fidget, he touched his triceratops power buckle on his hip. She blinked at him curiously.
"Can I please just have some answers?"
Smiling slightly he opened a door beside them. As she followed him inside she saw the name on the door. In bold blue letters, she read, Dr. Cranston. Motioning to the chair across the wooden desk Dr. Cranston grinned. Taking a seat she blinked in confusion at the scientist.
"You're the super genius, Billy from my father's records?"
"Super genius, oh no that's a bit of an over statement." He mumbled
Plqcing his buckle on the desk he grinned. At the sight of the buckle, she almost fell from her seat. This was making less and less sense as she dug deeper. At her look of shock, Billy spoke.
"Allow me to explain how this is possible. We revived their ranger powers by simply repairing their connection to the Morphing Grid."
As she processed this information it still made little sense. In a flash, something appeared on the desk. It was a spectrum of various colors. Each color was that of an existing ranger color. The smallest on the spectrum was that of an amber-orange. She couldn't help but stare into the colors.
"This is just a fragment but it's enough to explain the grid."
Snapping back to Dr. Cranston she blinked. With a relaxed smile, he picked up his buckle. She observed as he aimed his buckle to the grid fragment. As he did a blue beam linked his buckle to the grid.
"As you can see I have a connection to the grid. It took some work to mend that connection. Yours on the other hand was my true challenge."
Curious she raised her buckle to the grid. In a flash, a pair of links appeared. Running parallel one was a brighter green. The original had a trio of white red and black intertwining with it. Looking at the braided beam she could only smile. Tears streaming down her face she quietly said one word.
"Father."
Dropping her buckle the beams vanished. From behind Dr. Cranston a faded yellow light appeared. Frowning her eyes moved behind Dr. Cranston. Hanging on the wall was a display case. Inside rested a Sabertooth Tiger Power Buckle. The Buckle was in perfect condition. Below the buckle rested a plaque. The plaque read simply "In memory of Trini Kwan".
As the fragment vanished Dr. Cranston spun away from her. She watched as he removed the buckle from the display. As he started to cry she saw it. The pair of rings dangling from the scientist neck. she slowly stood placing a soothing hand his shoulder.
"Dr. Cranston, how did you lose miss Kwan?" She inquired softly
"She fell in battle,we had just got engaged." He Replied clutching the rings
"I'm sorry for your lost." She whispered
With a weak bow she left the office. As stepped into the hall the chill of cold metal made her freeze. spinning she shrugged off the prosthetic. Glaring at its owner she rested against the wall. Grinning at her he spoke with a weak chuckle.
"Having a good first-day newbie?"
Behind her stood the Quantum Ranger. He wore a simple outfit of worn jeans and a black tank top. As she took in his appearance she noticed something odd. His right arm had been replaced by a black metal prosthetic. His Morpher seemed to rest snuggly inside his forearm.
"Cool right Cam, the green samurai ranger made it for me."
Slowly she realized she didn't know his name. She had met this guy twice and hadn't thought to introduce herself. Letting out a quiet breath she searched for the right words. As the pieces fell into place she smiled.
"Alice Oliver, Dragon Ranger."
She blinked at his words. He had known what she was going to say. Slowly she smiled holding out her hand. Carefully he took her hand with his artificial one. She flinched slightly at the feeling of the cold metal.
"Matt Meyers, Quantum Ranger."
