The sound of clicking metal echoed through the small lab as Matt worked. He sat modifying his artificial arm to the best of his ability. He needed to loosen the elbow the joint would seize at random moments. Joint issue aside the arm was well crafted with no other flaws to speak of. AS he worked his eyes moved at the sight of movement. A flash of movement blurred at the edge of his vision and he blinked in confusion. Turning back to his task he let out a quiet sigh before he heard someone. They were right behind him giving off an imposing aura as a large hand touched his shoulder.
"Hello, Quantum Ranger."
He froze his eyes going wide in fright at the voice. That voice sounded also human but there was something off about it. There was also a supernatural quality to the voice as he spoke. Slowly Matt reached his arm glancing back at his visitor his hand going for his Morpher.
Before he grab it the limb was snatched away from his grasp held just out of his reach. The Shadow Lion, Dia Shi stood over him. His mortal face's grin showed his sinister intent. The lion warrior stood grinning triumph as he stepped away from the one-armed warrior. With a snarl, Matt pounced his fowl foe. Sent knocked off guard the lion warrior lost his grip on the artificial limb. As it fell the ranger kicked him in the stomach catching the arm before it could hit the ground.
"Nice try but you're not the first to steal my arm." He hissed punched the demon in the jaw
"I must admit that was a good blow for a mechanical fist." The demon chuckled "Show me what you got boy!"
"So no morphing then huh ?" Matt inquired taking a stance like that of a boxer.
"Correct I have use no for these trinkets." Dai Shi announced
Slowly the demon lord pulled a gold necklace from around his neck. From the saber-toothed tiger, coin hung from the chain let an amulet. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed the pendant into the darkness of the lab. Before the jewelry could hit the ground the shadow lion moved to throw the first punch. On instinct, he moved to block the blow with his forearm flinching at the impact. Spinning he launched a kick to the shadow lord's side only for his leg to be caught in contact. Gripping him by the leg Dai Shi spun pitching into a bookshelf in the corner of the room. Marching over to him the devil lion loomed over him with a Chesire cat grin. Gripping the young warrior by the shirt he held him off his feet. Guilt flickered in his eyes as he spoke his voice soft.
"You're too reliant on morphing to fix your problems." He mumbled
"Master, are you going to kill him?"
"No, not yet."Dai Shi whispered dropping his opponent
Turning he was met with the chameleon Rinshi, Camille. She held his amulet in her palms like a rare treasure. Smiling slightly he took the pendant dropping it back around his neck. At his smile, she turned away the dust of pink on her cheeks. With a surprisingly gentle touch, he grasped her shoulder letting out a slow breath. With a sudden creak, the doors jerked open sending light leaking in from the hall. As the sound of footsteps echoed in the silent room she embraced him activating her powers. In a blink, they were invisible to the common eye as someone entered the small lab. A flash of green crossed their vision as they teleported away.
"Matt, what the hell happened ?"
"Dai Shi, or was his name Jared attacked me," Matt grunted out
Through hazy vision, he could make the sight of Alice kneeling over him. Her eyes were seemed to be glazed over with the prelude to tears. Forcing himself to his knees he placed his forehead against hers making eye contact with her. Eyes their eyes locked he saw a twinkle of something as a smile came to her face. Then without warning, he fell over sending to the floor along with him. Letting out a giggle she moved closer her breath warm on his lips. Without warning, he moved to break the distance between them. She gave no resistance instead grasping his shirt as he tried to pull away. He could feel the dragon from her coin flowing through her very being. Pulling away he watched a crimson pulse flow down her body as she let out a childish giggle.
The next day the young green ranger entered her father's infirmary room. She found the elder Oliver sitting up in his hospital bed flipping through various papers. His glasses balanced precariously on his nose as he scanned the files. Sneaking her way over to him she delicately pushed his glasses back up to his eyes. He turned at the action smirking slyly at her placing his papers down. Smiling she stepped back holding out a slender vase holding a single white flower. Laughing he took the flower placed on the table on his opposite side picking up a coin.
"I want to give you something." He said smiling
"I'm not sure I want it after your last gift." She replied tapping the buckle on her hip
"Trust me you'll like this one just as much." He said flipping the coin
Catching the coin from the air she froze as the emblem of the white tiger glinted back at her. Turning to her father he smirked taking off his glasses. He still looked unwell but from what Dr. Cranston had told her he was improving. Holding the coin in her palm a calming voice whispered in the back of her mind. Cradling the coin she listened close to the voice as he spoke to her the words slowly becoming clearer as they echoed. "Put the coin in the buckle coward." reverberated in her mind as she look at the gold disk.
"Gah, Who is talking to me!" she gasped out nearly dropping the coin
"That would be Saba you get used to it trust me," Tommy promised
Slowly she clicked the coin into her buckle with Dragon Coin absorbing its White Tiger brother. Smiling she pulled the Morpher from its resting place turning it in her hand. Stepping back she took her father's iconic morphing stance her buckle held out with pride. Her power coin had transformed without her noticing, The coin's image had taken the form of a tiger with a glowing emerald eye. Activating her Morpher she announced her new role call as a green light radiated from the buckle's core.
"Emerald Tiger!" She announced as a green light cloaked her
The suite was that of the white ranger but a vibrant green with gold diamonds. The White Tiger Armor was replaced by that of the Dragon Shield with matching armbands. The wrists of the gloves were that of the original suit but a brighter golden color with the tops of the boots matching them. She wielded a weapon on each hip one held her original weapon the Dragon Dagger while the other held Saba. Her helmet was now like that of the White Tiger ranger but green to fit her new suit. Around her visor now sat the eyes of her former ranger mode a red gem in the helmet's forehead.
"This feels weird, but a good weird." She whispered removing her helmet
"I did not intend for that but we'll work with." Tommy chuckled
"Even after all this time, you're impulsive huh Tommy?"
Alice watched as Saba floated from her hip to hover between them. The blade daring his eyes between the pair letting out a sound of defeat. She didn't know why but something told her he was a mixture of happy and relieved. Slowly the weapon turned his attention back to her nodding to the door. As he floated in her direction she cautiously reached out gently taking him by the handle. As her mind began to race Saba's voice broke her from her thoughts. Glancing at the weapon he let out a chuckle his eyes locked on hers and she flinched.
"It's time for your first flying lesson." The sword stated
