The moon cast a silver glow as they approached the pristine temple. Seeing the shrine in this state only intrigued the princess more. At the sound of a snapping branch, her ear twitched.
As her hand touched the door a golden whip snatched her wrist. Grinning she turned to jerk the whip. The force of her tug yanked some from the tree line. Their garb was similar to Ninjor but something was off. Their form was slender with feminine curves.
"Why have you come to this holy place?!" They snapped
"We only seek to learn the ways of the grid," Lilith remarked
The ninja huffed removing her helmet. As the cyan headpiece was removed snow-white hair tumbled free. Green eyes glared at her unwanted guests. Pushing her hair from her face she sighed.
"You know as well as I do my master is no longer here, leave." She ordered
"Surely Ninjor left something behind we could learn from," Lilith remarked
"Hard way it is then." The ninja muttered replacing her helmet
In a blue streak, she rushed toward Lilith. During her rush, she drew the sword from her back. Before she could land her attack something stopped her. Looking up she was met with the sight of clashing blades. Her heirloom clashed against a golden machete.
"Are you hurt your highness?"
"I'm alright Drake, we didn't come here to fight," Lilith whispered
"Understood your grace." He replied
With a shove, he sent the ninja stumbling back. Stabbing the ground the ninja caught her balance. Reluctantly she returned her weapon to its scabbard. With a blue flash she unmorphed stepping up to them.
"What do you want from this place?" The ninja asked
She was now clothed in black jeans and a tight blue shirt. The jeans had a blue belt with golden flame designs. A power buckle rested against her hip with a golden coin marked with an N.
"We merely seek to learn," Drake said calmly
"I can sense it you know, your connections are weak." The ninja replied
"How do we strengthen them then?" Lilith snapped
The ninja smirked pointing to the temple doors. At the action, the doors swung inward. Through the doors, glowing blue candles could be seen. In the distance, a large rock sat surrounded by candles.
"This way." The ninja said swiftly
In a puff of blue smoke, the ninja was gone. In another puff, she was perched on the large stone. A glowing scroll was draped over her lap. She turned to them smirking.
Sharing a nod the duo stepped inside the temple. As they walked Lilith took his hand. Slowly she pulled away leaving a coin in his hand. As they reached her the ninja flicked the scroll closed.
"I'm going, to be honest with you both, I can't repair your connections since your powers aren't natural." She said with a sad sigh
"Then give us new connections." Lilith blurted
The ninja's eyes twinkled as they held up two gold Power Coins. Lilith held the Tyrannosaur while Drake held the Mastodon. They watched as their buckles began to float. The buckles floated beside the ninja.
"The coins please."
Looking up they found the ninja leaning toward them. Cautiously they dropped the coins into her waiting hand. As she sat straight again she placed the coins into their respective buckles.
Slotting into the buckles the coins glowed. Once the coins were inserted the duo transformed. Lilith was now a red ranger with her silver armor. Golden flames decorated her armor and arm guard.
Drake had taken a brighter green ranger form. He now had a spiky golden chest piece. Black swirls decorated the gold bracers on his arms and legs. His machete was replaced by a With a green and black version of the Power Axe. The axe blade was sawtoothed and glowed green.
"That should do nicely." The ninja announced
Slowly the pair turned taking in their new forms. Behind his helmet, Drake smiled at his princess. Dropping to one knee he bowed to her. With a weak laugh, she flicked his forehead.
"Get up you're embarrassing us." She ordered
"As you wish your grace." He mumbled
Silently watching them the ninja tossed a book. The book spun bouncing off Lilith's helmet. swiveling to snap at her she found the ninja had vanished.
"If you abuse that information I'll hunt you down."
The voice echoed through the room. The echo caused the threat to fill the small temple. Hugging the book to her chest Lilith nodded to her companion. In flashes of light, they were gone.
From the rafters the ninja watched them leave. As she did something her master once told her rang in her mind. At the time it sounded strange. Now it made sense.
"Sometimes evil can good intentions."
--
Lord Drakkon watched as his daughter and her minion appeared. The pair bowed to the Earth's ruler. Slowly she offered him the book on the grid. Removing his helmet he smiled at her.
"Keep it, my general should be knowledgeable on such matters."
